Manorama News

Manorama News (also known as MM TV) is a Malayalam language news channel owned and operated by Malayala Manorama. The channel, based at Aroor Alleppey, was launched on 17 August 2006, which coincided with the Malayalam New Year. The channel was launched with the assistance of media consulting company Mediaguru Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

The thirty-minute simultaneous newscast of regional news, Nattuvartha, from three regions of Kerala, viz. Malabar region, Kochi Region and Travancore region was done for the first time in the country.

Johny Lukose is the News Director and he also anchors a programme "Nere Chove". Romy Mathew and Pramod Raman are the Coordinating Editors of the channel and heads the input and output functions respectively.

Neelam Sanjiva Reddy

Neelam Sanjiva Reddy  pronunciation  (19 May 1913 – 1 June 1996) was the sixth President of India, serving from 1977 to 1982. Beginning a long political career with the Indian National Congress party in the Indian independence movement, he went on to hold several key offices in independent India—as the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, a two-time Speaker of the Lok Sabha and a Union Minister—before becoming the youngest-ever Indian president.

Born in present-day Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, Reddy completed his schooling at Adayar and joined the Government Arts College at Anantapur. He quit to become an Indian independence activist and was jailed for participating in the Quit India Movement. He was elected to the Madras Legislative Assembly in 1946 as a Congress party representative. Reddy became deputy chief minister of Andhra State in 1953 and the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 1956. He was a union cabinet minister under Prime Ministers Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi from 1964 to 1967 and Lok Sabha Speaker from 1967 to 1969. He later retired from active politics but returned in 1975, responding to Jayaprakash Narayan's call for "Total Revolution" against the Indira Gandhi government.

Indian National Trade Union Congress

Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) is the trade union wing of the Indian National Congress. It was founded 3 May 1947, and is affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation. According to provisional statistics from the Ministry of Labour, INTUC had a membership of 3,892,011 in 2002. INTUC is widely accepted as a trade union that works with the management and is not a typical confrontational organisation.

The foundation of INTUC on 3 May 1947-just 3 months before India attained independence.

Acharya JB Kripalani, who was then President of the Indian National Congress inaugurated the Founding conference of INTUC which was presided over by Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Among the distinguished leaders who attended the opening session were Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Shankarrao Deo, Jagjivan Ram, B. G. Kher, OP Mehtab, Aruna Asaf Ali, Ram Manohar Lohia, Ashoka Mehta, Ramchandra Sakharam Ruikar, Maniben Patel and other prominent trade unionists.

G. Sanjeeva Reddy

Gongalla Sanjeeva Reddy (జి సంజివ రేడ్డి) (18 February 1930) a politician from Indian National Congress party is an Ex-Member of the Parliament of India represented Andhra Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.

Early life

Gongalla Sanjeeva reddy was born in Hyderabad to Smt.Narasamma and Sri.Achi Reddy on 18 February 1930,

In recognition of his outstanding achievements in Public life and singular service to the nation, Dr. Reddy an epitome of national leader was conferred with Doctorate by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi (peacock terms)

Early career

Dr. G. Sanjeeva Reddy has been freedom fighter against Nizam Govt. Dr. Reddy joined the trade union movement as a young worker in 1948 and was elected General Secretary of INTUC Andhra Branch in 1950. He was soon elevated as its President in 1954 which position he continues till today. In addition, he is also the president of premier National Trade Unions in Electricity, Tunnel, Coal, Health, Medical, Engineering, Chemical, Municipal, Cement Workers, Steel Workers, Cigarette and Tobacco Workers.Dr. Reddy was first elected to coveted post of President, INTUC on 3rd August1994 form Shri G. Ramanujam when he was appointed as Governor of Orissa in 1994 and since then he has been unanimously elected continuously for the fifth term.Dr. Reddy’s popularity in International forum is well known. He was elected Vice-President of International Confederation of Free Trade Unions in March 1988 at Melbourne and he has since been re-elected continuously by the World Congress, the last one held at Vancouver, Canada in 2010. He has attended ILO Conference in Geneva Many Times.

A watch is a small timepiece intended to be carried or worn by a person. It is designed to keep working despite the motions caused by the person's activities. A wristwatch is designed to be worn on a wrist, attached by a watch strap or other type of bracelet. A pocket watch is designed for a person to carry in a pocket.

Watches evolved in the 17th century from spring-powered clocks, which appeared as early as the 14th century. The first watches were strictly mechanical, driven by clockwork. As technology progressed, mechanical devices, used to control the speed of the watch, were largely superseded by vibrating quartz crystals that produce accurately timed electronic pulses. Some watches use radio clock technology to regularly correct the time. The first digital electronic watch was developed in 1970.

Most inexpensive and medium-priced watches, used mainly for timekeeping, are electronic watches with quartz movements. Expensive collectible watches, valued more for their elaborate craftsmanship, aesthetic appeal and glamorous design than for simple timekeeping, often have purely mechanical movements and are powered by springs, even though these movements are generally less accurate and more expensive than electronic ones. Various extra features, called "complications", such as moon-phase displays and the different types of tourbillon, are sometimes included. Modern watches often display the day, date, month and year, and electronic watches may have many other functions. Time-related features such as timers, chronographs and alarm functions are common. Some modern designs incorporate calculators, GPS and Bluetooth technology or have heart-rate monitoring capabilities. Watches incorporating GPS receivers use them not only to determine their position. They also receive and use time signals from the satellites, which make them essentially perfectly accurate timekeepers, even over long periods of time.
