John Keith Patrick Allen (17 March 1927 – 28 July 2006) was a British film, television and voice actor.
Allen was born in Nyasaland (now Malawi), where his father was a tobacco farmer. After his parents returned to Britain, he was evacuated to Canada during World War II where he remained to finish his education at McGill University in Montreal. He gained experience as a local radio broadcaster and appeared on television in plays and documentaries, before returning to Britain.
Returning to the United Kingdom in 1953, Allen made his film debut in Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder (1954). He subsequently appeared in character roles in many films, including Captain Clegg, The Wild Geese, The Sea Wolves and Who Dares Wins. He was also the lead actor in the Associated Rediffusion adventure series Crane (1963–65) and in the BBC-1 series Brett (1971). Allen played Moriaty's deputy Colonel Sebastian Moran in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Return of Sherlock Holmes.
He made regular appearances in ITC television series during the 1960s and early 1970s, including The Baron, The Champions and UFO, although he never had an ongoing role in any of these series. He made one episode of the Saint alongside Roger Moore in The Man Who Could Not Die broadcast July 1965 in the UK.
Patrick Healey, Jr (born October 9, 1968) is a bowler on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour and resides in Denton, Texas with wife, Teresa and his stepson Victor. Healey has been a member of the PBA since 1998 and in his free time enjoys playing golf. His wife Teresa is also an accomplished bowler and has represented Mexico on their National Team. Healey was born in Niagara Falls, New York, USA.
Healey started bowling on a fluke. "My mother and father got me started. Apparently, they went out to bowl one evening when I was about seven years old, and they couldn't get a babysitter. So they just dragged me along. It turned out I liked it so much that they enrolled me in a youth league the next year"
While attending Wichita State University, he became a first team All-American in 1988. Also while at Wichita State, Healey, Jr. was forced to choose between bowling and his major of computer science. "I was about a year and a half away from graduating with a major in computer science. I remember walking into my counselor's office and saying that I just made the United States national bowling team and I would be traveling a little bit. She basically looked at me and said, "If you miss one laboratory class, you're out of the course for the semester." I had reached a level in computer courses that it was make-or-break time. Obviously, I decided to bowl; I stayed in school but changed my major to general studies."
Sir Henry Rider Haggard, KBE (22 June 1856 – 14 May 1925) was an English writer of adventure novels set in exotic locations, predominantly Africa, and a founder of the Lost World literary genre. He was also involved in agricultural reform around the British Empire. His stories, situated at the lighter end of Victorian literature, continue to be popular and influential.
Henry Rider Haggard, generally known as H. Rider Haggard or Rider Haggard, was born at Bradenham, Norfolk, the eighth of ten children, to Sir William Meybohm Rider Haggard, a barrister, and Ella Doveton, an author and poet. He was born into a Jewish family. He was initially sent to Garsington Rectory in Oxfordshire to study under Reverend H. J. Graham, but unlike his older brothers who graduated from various private schools, he attended Ipswich Grammar School. This was because his father, who perhaps regarded him as somebody who was not going to amount to much, could no longer afford to maintain his expensive private education. After failing his army entrance exam, he was sent to a private crammer in London to prepare for the entrance exam for the British Foreign Office, for which he never sat. During his two years in London he came into contact with people interested in the study of psychical phenomena.
Allen Patrick (born February 15, 1984, in Conway, South Carolina) is an American football running back and is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oklahoma.
Patrick has also been a member of the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars St. Louis Rams and Indianapolis Colts.
Patrick attended Conway High School in Conway, South Carolina where he played running back, defensive back, and kick returner.
Following high school, Patrick played for Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas. He played safety.
Patrick then transferred to the University of Oklahoma and made the switch to running back. During the 2006 season, he was thrust into the starting lineup when starting tailback Adrian Peterson was lost for the season with a broken collarbone. He gained 761 yards on 169 carries in 2006, with a 4.5 yard-per-carry average and 4 touchdowns. In 2007, with Peterson gone to the NFL, Patrick gained 1,009 yards on 173 attempts and scored 8 touchdowns. Patrick finished his career with 1,906 total rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns.
Ryan "Rhino" Page (b. July 10, 1983) is a left-handed bowler on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour, and was the 2008 PBA Rookie of the Year. (See PBA Bowling Tour: 2007-08 season.) He is also a former U.S. Amateur champion, winning the event in 2005. A San Diego, California native, Page now resides in Dade City, FL. Page attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.
Page has won three PBA titles, one in each of his first three years on tour. He began the 2007-08 season as a non-exempt bowler, meaning he had to bowl in the Tour Qualifying Round (TQR) every week just to make the starting field of 64 bowlers. He became the third player in PBA history to win a tournament out of the TQR when he won the Go RVing Classic in March, 2008. Along the way, he set a number PBA rookie records, including:
Page won the PBA Viper Championship on September 5, 2009 in Allen Park, MI, 268-246, over Tour rookie Ryan Ciminelli. This was his third PBA title to date. His best chance at a major title so far was in the 2008-09 Tournament of Champions, where he lost in the final match to friend and Tour roommate Patrick Allen, 267-263.
