Whisky or whiskey is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Different grains are used for different varieties, including barley, malted barley, rye, malted rye, wheat, and corn. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, made generally of charred white oak.
Whisky is a strictly regulated spirit worldwide with many classes and types. The typical unifying characteristics of the different classes and types are the fermentation of grains, distillation, and aging in wooden barrels.
The word whisky (or whiskey) is an anglicisation of the Gaelic word uisce|uisge meaning water. Distilled alcohol was known to the medieval Latins as aqua vitae = "lively water"; and as aqua fortis = "strong water". This was translated to Gaelic as Irish: uisce beatha and Scottish Gaelic: uisge beatha = "lively water" or "water of life". Early forms of the word in English included uskebeaghe (1581), usquebaugh (1610), usquebath (1621), usquebae (1715).

Brad Douglas Paisley (born October 28, 1972) is an American singer-songwriter and musician. His style crosses between traditional country music and Southern rock, and his songs are frequently laced with humor and pop culture references.
Paisley was the 2008 CMA and ACM Male Vocalist of the Year winner. Paisley was born on October 28, 1972 in Glen Dale, West Virginia to Douglas Edward "Doug" Paisley, who worked for the West Virginia Department of Transportation, and Sandra Jean "Sandy" (née Jarvis) Paisley, a teacher. He was raised in Glen Dale, West Virginia. He has stated that his love of country music stems from his maternal grandfather, Warren Jarvis, who gave Paisley his first guitar, a Sears Danelectro Silvertone at 8-years-old and taught him how to play. At age 10, he performed for the first time in public by singing in his church. He later recalled that, "Pretty soon, I was performing at every Christmas party and Mother's Day event. The neat thing about a small town is that when you want to be an artist, by golly, they'll make you one". At age 12, Paisley wrote his first song, entitled, "Born on Christmas Day". He had been taking lessons with local guitarist Clarence "Hank" Goddard. By age 13, Goddard and Paisley formed a band called "Brad Paisley and the C-Notes", with the addition of two of Paisley's adult friends.

She has released fourteen albums, appeared on numerous soundtracks, and helped renew interest in bluegrass music in the United States. Her soundtrack performances have led to further popularity, including the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, an album also credited with raising American interest in bluegrass, and the Cold Mountain soundtrack, which led to her performance at the 2004 Academy Awards. As of 2012, she has won 27 Grammy Awards from 41 nominations, making her the most awarded living recipient, and three back of the most honoured artist, classical conductor Sir Georg Solti. She is also the most awarded singer and the most awarded female artist in Grammy history. Allan's third album, Smoke Rings in the Dark, was his first album for MCA Nashville (to which he has been signed ever since) and the first platinum album of his career. Its successors, Alright Guy (2001) and See If I Care (2003), were all certified platinum as well, while 2005's Tough All Over and 2007's Greatest Hits were both certified gold. A seventh studio album, Living Hard, was released later in 2007.

i'm not a puppet
don't pull my string
i'm start thinkin then i'm drinkin
gotta get away from everything yea
no not tonight...

you haven't got a clue you never comprehend yea
playing games with my head
i think about me i think about na na nothing
give it back your out of time
i've got a reason what was my crime
i'm not a puppet
don't pull my string
i'm start thinkin then i'm drinkin
gotta get away from everything yea
no not tonight...
now you know
i'm sick of you and i really ain't got nothing else to do yea
have a drink with my friends
Momma cried when you left me
You know she's always loved you so
She said, "Hey fool what the hell did you do?"
I said, "Now mom I swear to god I just don't know"
Picture book sittin' there on the table
Memories were stacked up through the years
Tonight their ain't no pictures on them pages
'Cause you're kinda gone and you're never coming back home again
Yeah tonight all the dance halls are empty
With no young lovers on the floor
So I'll sit here with my whiskey
Drink it till I just can't drink no more
And I don't know why you had to leave me
And all I really know is that you are gone, long gone
And everywhere I go I just feel lonely
You're the only life I've ever known
I guess you must've heard the highway calling
You packed up your things and headed for the coast
And I had to fight the urge to follow
I guess some time away from me is all you've ever really needed most
Yeah tonight you know this whole damn town is empty
And I don't think I can take it anymore
So I'll sit here with my whiskey
And drink it till I just can't drink no more
A late night phone call from the east coast
Guess she said she'd had enough, coming on back home
Guess she went out and got crazy for awhile
If she leaves right now, maybe she'll make Memphis by the dawn
And tonight you know this whole damn house is empty
Tomorrow will be like it was before
So I'll put away my whiskey, I guess I just don't need it anymore
Yeah I'll put away my whiskey, I guess I just don't need it anymore
Tennessee bootleg moonshine whiskey

I drink it all the time
Long as I got my juice I'm gonna
Stay stoned runnin blind
Some people say it's a sin for a man to get get high
But they drink that whiskey like it's
Goin outta style ...
An' I love my whiskey (repeat)
Lord, I drink it all the time (all the time)
Long as I got my juice I'm gonna
Stay Stoned .Runnin blind
Welllllllllllllllll ...

Long as I got my bottle I'm gonna
Stay stoned runnin blind
Long as I got my bottle I'm gonna
Stay stoned runnin blind

I think it was early this mornin' Whiskey came to my door
I could tell ny her eyes that she had been cryin'
Said I can't go home anymore
Her daddy was a rock'n roll singer the head of a popular band
The last thing he said before he put her to bed
Was Whiskey you just don't understand.
Whiskey come in out of the pourin' rain
He left you before he's gonna leave you again
He's fyling high on some silver liner or hidin' in a Hiliday Inn
He thinks that the livin' is finer keepin' all that heavy bread comin' in
Doesn't that put your head in a spin girl keepin' all that heavy bread comin' in
But does he love you does he love you.
Whiskey come in out of the pourin' rain
He left you before he's gonna leave you again
He's fyling high on some silver liner or hidin' in a Hiliday Inn

Don't do anything mellow at the Whiskey
Jimmy says I'm so unfortunate
But let the people at the Whiskey be a bundle of nerves
And don't sing on fairness
'Cause if you do, your musical insurance better be paid up
Don't sing anything pretty at the Whiskey
Johnny says you'd best take my advice
'Cause the stony little crowd will get to talkin' even louder
And they'll smother you in hissin'
And if they do, your musical insurance better be paid up
Oh, don't do anything mellow at the Whiskey
Johnny says I'm so, so unfortunate
But let the people at the Whiskey be a bundle of nerves
And don't sing on what they're missin'
Like Sunday mornings filled with flowers
Just goin' fifteen miles up north
'Cause if you do, your musical insurance better be paid up
Got on the open road west of the city
Leavin' behind a long trail of gasoline
Far from the New York way
Came laong this girl named Whiskey
Long blond hair, ripped up dirty jeans
Listen to what I say
Kind of girl I can't get enough,
She left me wantin' more
What she gave me that night
Nearly knocked me to the floor
And all night, I'm drinkin' whiskey
Lo and behold, she was 14 by day, 40 by night
Oh my soul
Her mean old daddy's got his fingers on the trigger
Gonna hang me on his wall, so I've been told
Hangin' on Friday night
Dancin' on dynamite
Siad see you 'round, walkin' on Whiskey
Sweet Whiskey, doused out on Whiskey
Haul me out the door
I was dancin' and a singin' at a county fair,
She was lookin' so fine gonna meet me out back door
I was on my way
She was lookin' so fine gonna blow my mind
Better throw away the key and lock me up for sure
Or I'll be bailin' straw
Hangin' on Friday night
Dancin' on dynamite
Said see you 'round, walkin' on Whiskey
Sweet Whiskey, doused out on Whiskey
Hold me out for more
I said, "Give me another shot?"
You say you want me to choose
Between life without you
Between life without you, and life
Without my whiskey
That isn't much of a choice
No, I don't think that it's fair
When I was alone, my whiskey was always there
When I needed a friend
When I was feeling way down
When no one was there my whiskey
Was always around
Do you care about me or are you just being vain?
It's not my whiskey, it's you that
Drives me insane
You and me ain't the same as we were before.
I don't know what happened,
Maybe we just got bored
Now you're telling me, how it's gonna be
Who made you the boss?
Did you win some toss?
I wish you'd understand, I wish that you
Would lend a hand
But you're to busy telling me what to do
You told me I had to choose
Between you and my booze
Well, I'm afraid that you lose, I'll take my whiskey.
I love my whiskey straight. The only way you taste it.
When I take that bottle down, it's good to be my friend.
I love my sweet Mary. She takes away my paychecks.
Always loves to get me high. So hit me once again.
I love that way you move. All the things that drive me
crazy.
What a way to spend my life. To wake up next to you.
Can I take just a little more?
You're my favorite addiction, I know.
Of all the things I love, there's nothing quite like you.
Yeah you're my favorite addiction, I know.
Of all the things I love, there's nothing quite like you.
There's nothing quite like you.
There's nothing quite like you.
You're my favorite addiction, I know.
Of all the things I love, there's nothing quite like you.
Yeah you're my favorite addiction, I know.
Of all the things I love, there's nothing quite like you.
There's nothing quite like you.
Everybody down in Houston calls him Texas
Everybody way up north calls him cornbread
You should've heard the way that his mama called him "baby"
Daddy called him "boy", his friends called him "crazy"
Shoulda just called it like i saw it
Shoulda just called for help and ran like hell that day
The burn, and the sting, and the high, and the heat
and the left-me-wantin'-more feeling when he kissed me
I shoulda just called him "whiskey"
Warmed my body to the core just like a blanket
Tasted so sweet then you took my breath away
Hit me so hard like a rock through a window
i knew i was in trouble from the moment i met you, boy
Shoulda just called it like i saw it
Shoulda just called for help and ran like hell that day
The burn, and the sting, and the high, and the heat
and the left-me-wantin'-more feeling when he kissed me
I shoulda just called him whiskey
Now the numb set in
He's gone like the wind
and I can barely feel the pain
Shoulda just called it like i saw it
Shoulda just called for help and ran like hell that day
The burn, and the sting, and the high, and the heat
and the left-me-wantin'-more feeling when he kissed me
The burn, and the sting, and the high, and the heat
and the left-me-wantin'-more feeling when he kissed me
Are you holding up the jukebox with your last coin?
Making love to the neon darlin', where the wires join
And i keep stallin', until we've all been
Brought around the side into my coffin
Sleep until the sun's gone
I begin to see the way inside
Gimme whiskey in my hand
Do you understand?
The silver cup is cut in two
And crying in the sand
Have a sip of the newest fad now, bitter and cold
Promises in a bottle that will never grow old
