Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 1952 – 6 February 2011), was a Northern Irish musician, most widely recognised as a blues singer and guitarist.
In a career dating back to the 1960s, Moore played with artists including Phil Lynott and Brian Downey during his teens, leading him to memberships with the Irish bands Skid Row and Thin Lizzy on three separate occasions. Moore shared the stage with such blues and rock luminaries as B.B. King, Albert King, Colosseum II, George Harrison and Greg Lake, as well as having a successful solo career. He guested on a number of albums recorded by high profile musicians, including a cameo appearance playing the lead guitar solo on "She's My Baby" from Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3.
Moore started performing at a young age, having picked up a battered acoustic guitar at the age of eight. He got his first quality guitar at the age of 14, learning to play the right-handed instrument in the standard way despite being left-handed. He moved to Dublin in 1968 at the age of 16. His early musical influences were artists such as Albert King, Elvis Presley, The Shadows and The Beatles. Later, having seen Jimi Hendrix and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in his home town of Belfast, his own style was developing into a blues-rock sound that would be the dominant form of his career in music.
John Mayall, OBE (born 29 November 1933) is an English blues singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, whose musical career spans over fifty years. In the 1960s, he was the founder of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, a band which has included Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Don "Sugarcane" Harris, Harvey Mandel, Larry Taylor, Aynsley Dunbar, Hughie Flint, Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser, Johnny Almond, Walter Trout, Coco Montoya and Buddy Whittington.
Mayall's father was Murray Mayall, a guitarist and jazz music enthusiast. From an early age, John was drawn to the sounds of American blues players such as Leadbelly, Albert Ammons, Pinetop Smith, and Eddie Lang, and taught himself to play the piano, guitars, and harmonica.
Mayall spent three years in Korea for national service and, during a period of leave, he bought his first electric guitar. Back in Manchester, he enrolled at Manchester College of Art (now part of Manchester Metropolitan University) and started playing with semi-professional bands. After graduation, he obtained a job as an art designer but continued to play with local musicians. In 1963, he opted for a full time musical career and moved to London. His previous craft would be put to good use in the designing of covers for many of his coming albums.
Michael Kevin "Mick" Taylor (born 17 January 1949 in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire) is an English musician, best known as a former member of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (1966–69) and The Rolling Stones (1969–74). Since resigning from the Rolling Stones in December 1974 Taylor began working with numerous other artists and has released solo albums. Taylor was listed in Rolling Stone magazine's 2012 list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time, ranked at 37th place.
Taylor was born to a working-class family in Welwyn Garden City, but was raised in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England, where his father worked as a fitter for De Havilland aircraft company. He began playing guitar at age nine, learning to play from his mother's younger brother. As a teenager, he formed bands with schoolmates and started performing concerts under names such as The Juniors and the Strangers. They also appeared on television and put out a single. Part of the band was recruited for a new group called The Gods, which included Ken Hensley (later of Uriah Heep fame). In 1966, The Gods opened for Cream at the Starlite Ballroom in Wembley.
Geoffrey Arnold "Jeff" Beck (born 24 June 1944) is an English rock guitarist. He is one of three noted guitarists to have played with The Yardbirds (Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page are the other two). Beck also formed The Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice.
Much of Beck's recorded output has been instrumental, with a focus on innovative sound and his releases have spanned genres ranging from blues-rock, heavy metal, jazz fusion and an additional blend of guitar-rock and electronica. Although he recorded two hit albums (in 1975 and 1976) as a solo act, Beck has not established or maintained the sustained commercial success of many of his contemporaries and bandmates. Beck appears on albums by Mick Jagger, Kate Bush, Roger Waters, Donovan, Stevie Wonder, Les Paul, Zucchero, Cyndi Lauper, Brian May and ZZ Top. In 1988, he made a cameo appearance in the movie Twins.
He was ranked 5th in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and the magazine has described him as "one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock".MSNBC has called him a "guitarist's guitarist". Beck has earned wide critical praise and received the Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance six times and Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance once. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as a member of The Yardbirds (1992) and as a solo artist (2009).
I don't have everything you want
I sit in the chair and stop existence
Why should I be something I'm not
I refuse to be afraid
The chance I took multiplied forever
I'm tripping over time and place
One stumble leads to another
And I no longer break my bones
I just don't get that physical
I'll break my neurological patterns
On my random walk and talk
I don't need my legs and words
I flipped into another world
Where I can use all the things around me
To make a castle in the sand
Silicon days ablaze
I'll let light bouncing off these glassy stones
Come in, come in, come in, come in
All you light in your passageway
You'll bypass through my molecules
The in-between part is your home
You make me feel so radiant
Maybe your channels will accept me
And I can shine and blind all being
Why don't it take a walk with you
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the A P T
We'll stumble through the yard
Force fields, explorer racing home, the ancient star
Yellow mixed with golden hue, scan the graveyard, dead there be
Ball and chain, ball and chain, ball and chain, ball and chain
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the A P T
We'll stumble through the yard
Force fields, explorer racing home, the ancient star
Yellow mixed with golden hue, scan the graveyard, dead there be
Ball and chain, ball and chain, ball and chain, ball and chain
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the A P T
We'll stumble through the yard
Force fields, explorer racing home, the ancient star
Yellow mixed with golden hue, scan the graveyard, dead there be
Ball and chain, ball and chain, ball and chain, ball and chain
{It was round about midnight Hipster Town
Imagine going for a walk things get around to taking place
It's not a waste of time, the rich got a little poorer
It was round about midnight Hipster Town
Things get around to taking place if they're gonna happen at all
Don't need that jazz, don't need that stuff
It was round about midnight Hipster Town
It was round about midnight Hipster Town}
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the yard
We'll stumble through the A P T
We'll stumble through the yard
Force fields, explorer racing home, the ancient star
Yellow mixed with golden hue, scan the graveyard, dead there be
I'm not the kind of girl you bring to mother
I'm not the kind of girl you kiss in public
My manners leave a lot to be desired
At least I'm not a liar
I'm not about the subtle innuendo
More likely to throw rocks up at your window
Won't walk on eggshells so you don't hear the crazy things I'm saying when you get near me
I'd rather disappear than be faking it
Anyway, you like me yeah I know it
You're so transparent
How you stumble 'round those words so well
You like me there i said it
Don't need a dictionary helping me 'cause I can spell
My foot was in my mouth the day I met you
All my friends they said I'd never get you
But they don't know it when they see it
They need glasses to believe it
They don't understand so be it...
What can I say anyway
Bridge
By the way you turn me on to your favorite band
By the way you pour me coffee when I'm too tired to stand
By the way you lift me up when I'm fading
Breathe me in when I'm suffocating
Don't say that it's just because you can
Don't be stupid thinking I've misjudged you
I know enough to now when someone trusts you
Look at me, when i talk to you
Act as if i'm not standing next to you
Can't you see, it's not you
You dont have to think what they say is true
It seems like we've been here
Hold me close and don't let me go
Don't get up unless I say so
Hold me close and don't let me go
Don't get up unless I say
Cover me, over you
Digging up the dirt that has bured you
Are you done, or you through
Let me know the second they spit on you
It seems like I've been here
Hold me close and don't let me go
Don't get up unless I say so
Hold me close and don't let me go
Don't get up unless I say
(Instrumental)
Hold me close and don't let me go
Don't get up unless I say so
Hold me close and don't let me go
Don't get up unless I say
I find you wouldn't let go, for all I know, you're
slipping away
The more I put you, believe thee or believe me
You didn't feel like you're the one that doesn't care
Yeah, could you mind and believe it's not forever
So tell me that the little think you aren't who you're under
Stumbling on one thing
Stumbling on one thing
One day you're stumbling, yeah!
You motherfucker, stumble
If I could jump right through your life
If I could scream right through your cries
And when I woke right over you
You're stumbling, you're fucking stumbling
Wake
You're stumbling
Wake
Yeah, you motherfucker, stumble
If I could live with no more lies
If I could scream right through your cries
And then I woke right over you
You're stumbling, you're fucking stumbling
What's on your T.V.?
Whatever's okay with me
I didn't think you'd see
I'd change it but i'm too lazy
I let you stumble
My example, I watched it crumble
It's all right in a while
It's all done with a smile
In public, we're in denial
Until we have our trial
I let you stumble
And I've thought what it would be like for the day
To see myself in a completely different way
And I've thought myself into the ground
Will I ever get out of this hole I've dug myself
And I stumble a while and I tumble over every step of time
And I wish you all of your dreams
'Cos they're never what they seem
But uncertainty is the beauty in life
And I wander whether we will ever realise
And I stumble a while and I tumble over every step of time
And I stumble a while and I tumble over every step of mine
And in this world of mine I'm trying to make some sense
And I hope that in time we will be good friends
'Cos there's no point in carrying on if we just can't get along
And I hope that you and me can just let whatever will be will be
Will be, will be
Will be, will be
Will be, will be
And in this world of mine I'm trying to make some sense
And I hope that in time we will be good friends
'Cos there's no point in carrying on if we just can't get along
And I hope that you and me can just let whatever will be will be
Will be, will be
Will be, will be
Pilgrimage of desire
You were standing in the fire
Ya didn't know
You were runnin' on the track with a target on your back
Man ya didn't know
There was a devil in your mind
Keeping you blind with a light show
He kept ya occupied
So ya couldn't get wide
So ya couldn't grow
Man you were takin' in lies
Your lettin' out lies
You're never more the wise
You stumble
Ya saw prophets in pain,
Ya thought they were insane
Ya didn't show
Ya were heading their cries in a poor disguise
Ya didn't know
Ya saw angels in the crowd,
Weren't standin' proud
So it didn't show
Their wing's had been sliced,
They took the sacrifice
So someone else could go
You been takin' in lies
You letting out lies
You never more the wise
You stumble
Man you were takin' in lies
You letting out lies
You never more the wise
You stumble
Pilgrimage of desire
You were standing in the fire
Ya didn't know
You were runnin' on the track with a target on your back
Man ya didn't know
There was a devil on your mind
Keeping you blind with a light show
He kept ya occupied
So ya couldn't get wide
So ya couldn't grow
You were taking in lies,
You letting out lies
You never more the wise
You stumble
Yeah, you were takin in lies,
You letting out lies
You never more the wise
Boy tell me somethin'
if you could choose which direction to go
Would you ever choose the rocky road, the bumpy ride?
The bumpy ride
I did, over and over again
Sick and tired of fight fighting with him
Days and nights of crying again
No one knows what violence is
Till they know what it's like to fight the same battle
Over again, over again, with the same damn person
And when it's over and I'm turning to leave
He kisses me so gently
Boy gets away from me,
He's like no
You’re too hot to be so cold gimme you bag
And your fucking clothes, I'd be a damn fool to let
this go
Just when the light is fading, just when I know it's
wrong
You do it, you do it, you do it and all my doubts are
gone
The pain is elevating I surrender my fight
Stumble, stumble, stumble back in love with you tonight
Stumble, stumble, stumble. Like woah woah woah woah
I'm yours, baby you're mine never let me go 'cuz I blow
your fucking mind
And ya know, and ya know, and ya know, and ya know
I waited my whole life for this so how can I deny who
give me it?
I know I can do much better than you
But no one’s belongs in my bed like you do
There you're the truth you're the one who keeps me
coming back
Over again over again with the same damn passion
And when it's over and I'm fallin' asleep he kisses me
so gently
Baby
Said "let's go show me how it's done-done-done down
low"
Tongue so fast, lips so slow I'd be a damn fool to let
this go
Just when the light is fading, just when I know it's
wrong
You do it, you do it, you do it and all my doubts are
gone
The pain is elevating I surrender my fight
Stumble, stumble, stumble back in love with you tonight
Your love is irresistible
I wanna feel it deep inside
Boy tell me somethin'
if you could choose which direction to go
Would you ever choose the rocky road, the bumpy ride?
Stumble, stumble, stumble like woah, woah, woah, woah
I'm yours, baby
you're mine never let me go
'cuz I blow your fucking mind
And ya know, and ya know, and ya know, and ya know
Stumble 'til we fall down, down, down
I'm yours, baby
You're mine never let you go
sometimes when you're around i can't remember what day it is and sometimes when i see you smile my knees start to quiver and they almost give and i don't think you know if you did it would never show and i stumble on my words when i'm around you you don't know all the things that you put me through sometimes i feel i could look at you for hours til i fall asleep and sometimes when i feel strong you have the power to make me weak and my biggest fear is that you're a dream someday i'll wake up and i stumble on my words when i'm around you you don't know all the things that you put me through sometimes you are all i see sometimes you are all i need i stumble on my words when i'm around you
The strongest opinion is not afraid of letting go
So, who will lift you up when you stumble?
Stay with me now, I'm alive for the first time
The hardest rain of all is yet to crumble
You told me, you told me
I wouldn't have to fall
Halfway down your shoulders
The strongest religion is not afraid of losing faith
So, who will lift you up when you stumble?
Stay with me now, I'm alive for the first time
The hardest rain of all is yet to crumble
You told me, you told me
I wouldn't have to fall
Halfway down your shoulders
