Norway i/ˈnɔrweɪ/ (Norwegian:
Norge (Bokmål) or
Noreg (Nynorsk)), officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic unitary constitutional monarchy whose territory comprises the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula, Jan Mayen, the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard and the subantarctic Bouvet Island. Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometres (148,747 sq mi) and a population of about 5 million. It is the second least densely populated country in Europe. The majority of the country shares a border to the east with Sweden; its northernmost region is bordered by Finland to the south and Russia to the east; in its south Norway borders the Skagerrak Strait across from Denmark. The capital city of Norway is Oslo. Norway's extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea, is home to its famous fjords.
Christine Guldbrandsen (born 19 March 1985 in Bergen, Norway) is a singer who is best-known internationally for being the Norwegian entrant in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. With a crystal-clear voice and a impressive vocal range she is often compared to sopranos like Sissel Kyrkjebø and Hayley Westenra. She has released three albums in Scandinavia, Surfing in the Air, Moments and Christine. A new album called "Colors" was released on the 8th of April 2011. She sings mainly in Norwegian and English, but has also sung songs in Swedish, Finnish, Italian and Latin.
Guldbrandsen began singing at the age of 3 in the local church choir. Guldbrandsen was discovered at the age of 13 by Kjetil Fluge. In 2000, when Guldbrandsen was 15, she sang at "Kulturbyåpningen" in Bergen. Among the audience was Sony Music Entertainment. After the performance Sony Music gave Guldbrandsen her first record deal. The contract was a result of long dedicated time and work with Kjetil Fluge, Atle Halstensen and Erlend Fauske in the Bergen Studio Sounds Familiar. In 2001, only at the age of 16, Christine wrote her first lyrics which was entitled "Fly Away". She wrote this song as a dedication to her father, who died the same year.
Norman Jeffrey "Jeff" Healey (March 25, 1966 – March 2, 2008) was a blind Canadian jazz and blues-rock vocalist and guitarist who attained musical and personal popularity, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Healey was raised in the city's west end. He was adopted as an infant; his adoptive father was a firefighter. When he was one year old, Healey lost his sight to retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the eyes. His eyes had to be surgically removed, and he was given artificial replacements.
Healey began playing guitar when he was three, developing his unique style of playing the instrument flat on his lap. When he was 17, he formed the band Blue Direction, a four-piece band which primarily played bar-band cover tunes. Among the other musicians were bassist Jeremy Littler, drummer Graydon Chapman, and a schoolmate, Rob Quail on second guitar. This band played various local clubs in Toronto, including the Colonial Tavern.
Healey began hosting a jazz and blues show on radio station CIUT-FM where he became known for playing from his massive collection of vintage 78 rpm gramophone records.
Running some other way,
Got to get out
You’re already too late
To think of some other way now,
Dedicating endless plaques to friends
You’re not proud
Proud of something that’s changed
Changed your inner mind
You’re already too late;
The cycle starts with a shout loud,
What follows next was never planned,
Well, not that you knew
All words drown out
You’re falling down
--------
Reeling and feeling its dragging you down
You can’t deny
Our slow decline
But ever since I
I’ve changed you cry
This timeless lie
Is growing on me
It’s all that’s left of me
My life my fight my time my vice my crime
You'll never relate to what it feels like
Cos its already too late
To feel a thing when your
Insides, are full of hate
And there's no way to fake decisions
It’s a subliminal fate
It wraps itself round
Your fear of what is blowing away
The world it seems
Is weighing down on you like a mirror
Is it just a splinter
Of all we lost
-----------
Caught in the spotlight but no-one is ever looking at you
You can’t deny
Our slow decline
Accelerates mine
I’ve changed you cry
This timeless lie
Is growing on me
It’s all that’s left of me
My life my fight my time my vice my crime
------------------------------------------+
All that you break is our shared fall
But you cant recall
