Arnold played college hockey for the Michigan Wolverines. After turning professional, he played for the Phoenix Mustangs of the West Coast Hockey League and the San Angelo Outlaws of the Western Professional Hockey League.

John Arnold (30 November 1907, Cowley, Oxford – 4 April 1984, Southampton, Hampshire) was an English cricketer who played in one Test in 1931.
Cricket career
John Arnold was an attacking opening batsman for Hampshire for 20 years from 1930, when he qualified by residence, having previously played Minor Counties cricket for Oxfordshire. He scored 1,000 runs in his first full first-class season and missed out on that feat only once in his career. In 1934, he scored 2,261 runs at an average of 48 runs per innings, the only time he passed 2,000 runs in a season. His one poor season, 1938, led to him not being re-engaged by Hampshire, but the county had second thoughts and he returned for the 1939 season and for five more seasons after the Second World War. He fell ill during the 1950 season, and retired without playing again. He was a first-class umpire for 14 seasons from 1961.
Arnold played only one Test match: with Fred Bakewell, he formed an experimental opening partnership for England against New Zealand at Lord's in 1931, following the retirement from Test cricket of Jack Hobbs and injury to Herbert Sutcliffe. The move was not a success. Arnold was out for 0 in the first innings, and though he scored 34 in the second, he was replaced by the returning Sutcliffe for the second Test. He did not play Test cricket again.
John Arnold of Monmouthshire
John Arnold, widely known as John Arnold of Monmouthshire (circa 1635–1702) was a Welsh Protestant politician and Whig MP. He was one of the most prominent people in Monmouthshire in the late 17th century. A stark anti-Papist, he was a notable figure during the Popish plot and the suppression of Catholicism in the country. Arnold represented the constituencies around Monmouth (known as the Monmouth Boroughs) and Southwark in Parliament in the 1680s and 1690s. His strong anti-Papist beliefs and insurgences against Catholic priests made him an unpopular and controversial figure amongst his peers and in his native Monmouthshire. Amongst his associates were Titus Oates and Anthony Ashley Cooper, 1st Earl of Shaftesbury.
Earlier life
Arnold was born in Southwark, around 1635, the first son of Nicholas Arnold of Llanvihangel Crucorney and the maternal grandson of Sir Edward Moore of Drogheda, County Louth. The Arnold family had their seat in Llanthony Priory by the end of the 16th century but had to lease it to the Hoptons owing to financial difficulties.Llanvihangel Court became the family seat and John succeeded his father in 1665. Educated in Southwark, he became Sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1669.
John Arnold (bishop)
John Stanley Kenneth Arnold (born 12 June 1953) is the eleventh Roman Catholic Bishop of Salford. He was formerly an auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Westminster and held the titular see of Lindisfarne.
Arnold was born in Sheffield and attended Mylnhurst Convent School before attending Grace Dieu Manor School and Ratcliffe College, both schools run by the Institute of Charity (Rosminian Fathers). In 1975 he graduated with a law degree from Trinity College, Oxford and completed his legal qualification by being called to the Bar in the Middle Temple in 1976 after studies at the Council of Legal Education.
Arnold left the field of law and entered a seminary to undertake the studies for receiving Holy Orders in the Catholic Church. He was ordained on 16 July 1983 by Cardinal Basil Hume OSB, the Archbishop of Westminster.
Between 1981 and 1985 he studied for a JCD at the Gregoriana. After his ordination he was a chaplain of the cathedral from 1985 to 1988 and from 1988 to 1993 vice-administrator of the cathedral. In 1993 he was appointed pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. George, in Enfield. From 2001 to 2005 he was vicar general and chancellor of the diocese.
