Việt Minh ( listen; abbreviated from Việt Nam Ðộc Lập Ðồng Minh Hội, English "League for the Independence of Vietnam") was a communist national independence coalition formed at Pac Bo on May 19, 1941. The Việt Minh initially formed to seek independence for Vietnam from the French Empire. When the Japanese occupation began, the Việt Minh opposed Japan with support from the United States and the Republic of China. After World War II, the Việt Minh opposed the re-occupation of Vietnam by France and later opposed South Vietnam and the United States in the Vietnam War.
During World War II, Japan occupied French Indochina. As well as fighting the French, the Việt Minh started a campaign against the Japanese. Due to their opposition to the Japanese, the Việt Minh received funding from the United States, Soviet Union and the Republic of China. When Japan surrendered in August 1945, the Japanese handed over control of some public buildings and weapons requisitioned from the French army to the Việt Minh, now led by Hồ Chí Minh, after turning in the Vietnamese nationalist leaders of the Việt Minh to the French colonialists. The Việt Minh also recruited more than 600 of the Japanese soldiers, who fought in the war against France until 1954. After the nationalist organizations proclaimed the independence of Việt Nam, Hồ proclaimed the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945.
Hồ Chí Minh (Vietnamese pronunciation: [hô cǐ miɲ] (Vietnamese pronunciation: [hô̤ tɕǐmɪŋ] ( listen)); 19 May 1890 – 2 September 1969), born Nguyễn Sinh Cung and also known as Nguyễn Tất Thành and Nguyễn Ái Quốc, was a Vietnamese Stalinist revolutionary leader who was prime minister (1945–1955) and president (1945–1969) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). He was a key figure in the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, as well as the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) and the Việt Cộng (NLF or VC) during the Vietnam War.
He led the Việt Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the communist-governed Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at Điện Biên Phủ. He officially stepped down from power in 1955 due to health problems, but remained a highly visible figurehead and inspiration for Vietnamese fighting for his cause – a united, independent Vietnam – until his death. After the war, Saigon, the capital of Republic of Vietnam, was renamed Hồ Chí Minh City in his honor.
I'm born
I'm alive
I breathe
In a moment or two I realize,
that the sphere upon which I reside,
is asleep on its feet.
should I go back to sleep?
We orbit the sun
I grow up
my open eyes see...
A zombified, somnambulist society.
Leaving us as vitamins
for the hibernating human animal.
Do you see what I mean?
You stare at me like a vitamin
On the surface you hate,
but you know you need me.
I'll come dressed as any pill you deem fit.
Whatever helps you swallow truth
all the more easily.
And I wonder, will you digest me?
Into the sleep machine I won't plug in,
in fact I'd rather die before I will comply.
To you, my friend,
I write the reason I still live,
'cause in my mind it's set the vitamin is ripe to give
Coming closer to another 2000 years
you and I will pry

Fatman, fatman, fatman, fatman
On Second Avenue, night life is second nature
Black jazz in numbers land
Affairs are all night long
The girl's best friend is a fatman
He gives her pearls and diamonds
Sometimes she looks so blown away
She hangs her head against the window
Toasting brandies to her shadow
Champagne from Paris, France
Cigars, the best Havana
The boys don't like the way you do things
They might not understand
I don't want to hear about it
I don't want to talk about it
I don't want to read about the details in the paper
St. Valentine's Day blows away
Leaves a fatman by the window
Looking straight along the barrel
Fatman, fatman, give me the gun
Fatman, you're not fooling anybody
Fatman, fatman, give me the gun
Don't be like that baby
You're just no fun
Fatman, fatman, give me the gun
Fatman, you're not fooling anybody
Fatman, fatman, give me the gun
Don't be like that baby
You're just no fun
Pink champagne from Paris, France
Cigars, the best Havana
On Second Avenue, affairs are all night long
I don't want to hear about it
I don't want to talk about it
I don't want to read about the details in the paper
St. Valentine's Day blows away
Leaves the fatman by the window,
looking straight along the barrel
Fatman, fatman, fatman, fatman
You're not fooling anybody
Fatman, fatman, fatman, fatman
You're not fooling anybody
Fatman, fatman, give me the gun
Don't be like that baby,
You're just no fun.
Fatman, fatman, fatman, fatman
You're not fooling anybody
Fatman, fatman, give me the gun
Don't be like that baby,
Little things you say, little things you do
That only happen when you've had a few too many
And seldom in the cold light of day
Things you say and do when you've had a few too many
I'm really rocking, I'm rocking out
I've got a good reason to really scream and shout
My appetite for anger is really ravenous
My approach to living, well it's extremely dangerous
Cos little things you say little things you do
That only happen when you've had a few too many
And seldom in the cold light of day
Things you say and do when you've had a few too many
And in the corner to my right
Some foolish people are dying for a fight
Sat in the middle on your safe electric fence
You're always shouting down at what's left
Of my peaceful attempts
Oh little things you say little things you do
That only happen when you've had a few too many
And seldom in the cold light of day
Things you say and do I want them to be true, not only when
You've had a few too many
spill your drink on her dress
you see her face she's not impressed
and i think and i guess
that you've had a few to many
go to the bathroom only to find
the door is locked and it's occupied
you spill your guts all over the place
i think you've had one to many
i think i've had one too few
i think you'll find
that the room is spinning
and i think i'll have a laugh on you
your distorted vision and your sweaty palms
isn't helping you keep calm
records are spinning they don't seem to quit
your girlfriend is screaming she's having a fit
broken a window fell off your chair
the gum you were chewin' is now in your hair
you run to the back to get some fresh air
thinking to yourself life ain't fair
an empty bottle on the floor
your passed out cold buy you want some more
you try to speak but your mouth is numb
(he never minded - he never cared - he walks with his shirt off - he walks and we stare don't laugh, don't mock, don't snicker don't point, he's happy to be alive he's happy that's the point) (well i think that) they're all called charlie yet probably not, they're always sweating buckets, skins beating red hot, well it's like do you think you'll make it home ok, because step after step you'll be digging your grave they're good they got it they know what they need life's better for them for them i see, they ignore what they hate and keep what they like, this time i'm going to do it right - see him, in a store walking down the aisle, on his face a great big smile can't be certain move from side to side, celebrating living is his passion and his pride out of control, asleep at the wheel, dave's got a friend and his name is neil
(manchester, singing beach, 2:00) a beached whale he tries to flip over now, can't, move, sand, what, tries to thrash around while the tide starts to move in, god i hope charlie swims now a red bellies floating around, all the kids are jumping off him on the beach there's a crowd, he doesn't mind in fact i think i see a smile, fatman's playing all the while, thinking of the time when he thought that no one cared, celebrating apathy controlled yet unaware, wondering if people thought that he was dumb and slow, maybe i don't know, but i don't think so, slip n' slide out on the lawn so sad those days are gone, grass stains on all of his clothes, got yelled at by his mom - well i'm fine now you wonder why now i always had my self respect never had a single doubt, never let your words cut through me, through me, it's those words that took his laughter, it's those words that took his pride,
it's those words that left you helpless all alone you wonder why

Voodooman, chickenbone chickenbone
I can make a thunderstorm from a light rain
My ears start ringing, My nose get bloody
I feel a lil' bit of pressure on my right brain
Intermission transmission
Put me in submission
Glistening trapped in the light prison whistling
The christ told me come closer to the light man
I went blind woke up in front of a mic stand
Voodoo man, tap dancing in the French Quarter
Walking on water with a scroll in my hand
The bluerprints for disc shaped like a vessel
That was chiseled out of metal
Off the coast of Japan
Fasting on the top of a mountain
I went to postland
Saw a shiny object floating out of the ocean
I'm sort of like a postman
You can get the message if you want to understand
From the rap slumber man
Voodoman, civilised and savage
Criticize the parish
Spreading false doctrine
Terrorise the cleric
For carrying on nonsense
Specialised lies to paralyse the conscience
Voodoman
Chit chatter
Abracadabra
Spitting out matter
While I'm shitting out data
Mmm, chew em up shitting out rappers
Sipping Pelegrino while I'm giving out matches
Set yourself on fire
Let the wisdom of Elijah
Purify ya take a nigga higher
Sold your soul to the highest buyer
Now you're on a wire
Talking about 2-foot tires
Saying you sell crack
Clapping at cats with macs
But you a liar
Pants on fire
Same old rugged cross
[Boots]
Ahhhhhhh yesss, ah-heh
Tell me somethin
Were you, about to make a decision?
Was it, one of... THOSE decisions?
Ya know, when ya, gotta decide, between
what's good, for you, and what's good, for the struggle
Well before you sellout, The Coup wants to tell you a lil' story
E-Roc, kick it
[E-Roc]
Pressure, is gettin to my dome
See, I need some food for my little boy's tummy
Pulled up a chair just to think about my situation
Don't have a job, cause jackin is the occupation
FUCK THE SYSTEM, you know that it's all wrong
I got my gauge, yeah now my mission's on
Checked on my baby, good he was sound asleep
Cause money was my thoughts as I began to creep
down the street the corner sto', was on my mind
Freeze! with the sounds of clips was in my behind
I turned around but befo' I could pull my trigger
in they ass, on the ground, laid another nigga
I was trippin, slippin labelled as a dummy
But can you blame me, I did it for da mo-ah-money
*chorus*
M-O-N, N-E-Y (repeat 2X)
Broke as a; broke as a sucka!
(repeat all 4X)
[E-Roc]
Back on the streets I thought I wouldn't survive
So I'm bustin my ass on this nine to five
Flippin patties all day when the place is hot
Gettin paid peanuts, in the burger shop
Now everybody wants to know the deal, is this brother real
can I feed my family off of a Happy Meal?
I had to stop cause this shit ain't for E-Roc
I threw down my time card and started slangin rocks
For a brother dis is some'in you can't beat
My cash is flowin, now I'm bringin home the meat
I'm feelin good sellin crack to a fiend
Don't give a fuck about his luck, ya know what I mean?
People trip, but they don't understand that
a devil's land, ain't no black foe a black man
Now it's a shame, but who's to blame?
I got a baby with a life and no future to gain, yeah the money
*chorus*
[E-Roc]
I remember the time when I was six
The American Dream was everybody gets, rich
But yo, a fact for all to know
Four hundred years has passed, and we still po'
He ain't my Uncle, but Sam know what he's talkin about
If you wanna get paid, sell your people out
But not me I'd rather do a crime
Deep in my rhyme; is it better for a black man to do time?
To the red white and blue I don't give a fuck
Because I live and die, just to make a buck
So I'm that mother-fucker
That rob his daddy, and threw his ass in the gutter
And I'm that fool
that sold his kids cocaine at school
But Jack's an attorney
So I'ma do what I do, cause he's makin all the motherfuckin...
*gun shots*
[Boots]
I believe.. truthfully, we all gonna die someday
So, die hustlin for yourself
or die hustlin for millions of your people
The choice is yours, choose your fate
You can get with this, or you can get with that
We out
'Late news just arrived - the grass is greener on the other side'
You are the target in the plan
"Consume till you die!" is the pleasure of the fatman
And if your life ain't good enough and if you don't look good enough
The fatman can be your master - your control is what he's after
[CHORUS]
Celebrate your beauty and see the weight come off
The fatman can make you what you want
Celebrate your beauty and see the weight come off
The fatman can make you what you want
Pretty little people throw up to stay thin (x3)
And the pleasure of the fatman begins again
And if your life ain't good enough and if you don't look good enough
The fatman can be your master - you'll shed no tears through his laughter

You make me strong

You're my sinking capsule
You're my vitamin...

Before the hair,
Before the skin,

You're my vitamin

VOODOO WOMAN
Covered by Susan Tedeschi, originally done by Koko Taylor
Ohh they call me the voodoo woman
And I know the reason why
Ohh they call me the voodoo woman
Ohh and I know-o the reason why
Ohh, if I raise up my hands now
Don't you know the sky begins to cry, darlin' ohh now!
Ohh they call me the voodoo woman
Cause I look through water and I spot dry land
Ohh they call me the voodoo woman
I look through water and I spot dry land
And I'm gonna tell all you men out there
If your woman's got another man
Honey you better hope she doesn't!
Cause, gotta rabbit foot in my pocket
A toad frog in my shoes, a crawdaddy on my shoulder
Looking dead at you
I got dust from a rattlesnake
And a black spider bone
If that don't do it baby
You better leave this girl alone
They call me the voodoo woman
And I know the reason why
Lord if I raise my hand
Ohh I know the sky gonna come down with rain!
Lord you better hope not, come on now!
(Solo-break)
Ohh honey, I gotta rabbit foot in my pocket
A toad frog in my shoes, crawdaddy on my shoulder
Looking dead at you
I got dust from a rattlesnake
And a black spider bone
If that don't do it baby
You better leave this girl alone
They call me the voodoo woman
Oh I know the reason why
Oh if I raise up my hand
Oh I think somebody, somebody better look out
‘cause I don't think they understand!
(Solo-break)
they call me the voodoo woman
Cause I look through water and I spot dry land
Ohh they call me the voodoo woman
I look through water and I spot dry land
And I'm gonna tell all you men out there
If your woman's got another man
You better hope she doesn't honey!
Lord, ohh they call me the voodoo woman
And I know the reason why-ee
Ohh they call me the voodoo woman
And I know the reason why
Ohh, if I raise up my hands now

And voodoo woman, you break every heart you see

Tell him I said I'm eating a sandwich
What's it gonna be
Me or my ham and swiss
Your gonna miss the sale fatman
Your gonna miss your sale you fat whale
I bet your face has pocks
Like chicken croquettes
Your knees are gonna knock
To stand on them pork chops
Stop eating for a second cause I got the money
Stop eating for a second cause I got the money
Want to buy fan van
From a fat fat man
He said see the tears in my eyes
See the tears in my eyes
See the tears in my eyes
Mean mean old man
Mean mean old mind
Fatman I'm customer
Come on and play nice
Gots to make an offer now
Or you're gonna pay the price
Bet your day would be great
If I brought you some
Steak and potatoes
Your jowells are like
Rotten red tomatoes
Sold me the car you could at least make some dough
You're dough boy you're rude
I don't like that attitude
Treat me like that
I'll have to bust a hit
In graffitit on your wall
Should've taken my call
See the tears in my eyes
See the tears in my eyes
See the tears in my eyes
Mean mean old man
Mean mean old mind
Fat Man
Fat Man
Fat Man

Lord if I raise my name,
They say that inside every thin man
A fat man’s trying to break free
And now you gotta keep him in, man
Or you’ll get treated like a freak
But it ain’t none of their damn business
After all, what do they know?
Life’s for taking to the limits
I’ll go the way I wanna go
Cos it’s the
Fat man in me
Born to be me
Fat man in me
Big mean heavy
So heed my warning and keep out of my way
I’m getting even and it starts today
My radio and television
Say that you’re better if you’re thin
But in the end, it’s my decision
I’d really hate it if I looked like them
Cos it’s the
Fat man in me
Born to be me
Fat man in me
Big mean heavy
So heed my warning and keep out of my way
I’m getting even and it starts today
What you looking at?
Cos it’s the
Fat man in me
Born to be me
Fat man in me
Big mean heavy
Fat man in me
Born to be me
Fat man in me
Big mean heavy
Fat man in me
Born to be me
Fat man in me
footsteps...in your floor...
300 pounds...maybe more...
'cause I'm the Fatman!
Well he don't care about anything except his juicy chicken wings...
He had to add a hole to his belt in the heat his belly melts...
because he's...
We hate money
Broke people stand up, if you lack cash put a hand up
We hate money
And all the people getting paid, throw all your money on stage
We hate money
Dollars, cash, cheese, unless you're gonna give some to me
We hate money
And everyone who has it, we would do things that you couldn't imagine
If I ever had money, I would do some crazy shit
I'd probably hire Lady Gaga to babysit
So give me money, and I'll be like "Fuck it"
I'll drop a hundred grand to make a vegan man eat turducken
You know I wouldn't hold off, I would spend my figures
Get a nose job, make it even bigger
Set my Nissan on fire on the lawn
Then I buy my own plane, step on and yell "Bomb!"
And as my ego and my pockets swell
I'd fly to the next town to go to Taco Bell
Then I'd pay all the haters to become believers
I'd pay Kanye West to punch Justin Bieber
And then I'd buy a bunch of heroin and get really arrogant
And pay all the foreigners to become Americans
The possibilities are endless
I would even go to the dentist, but
We hate money
Broke people stand up, if you lack cash put a hand up
We hate money
And all the people getting paid, throw all your money on stage
We hate money
Dollars, cash, cheese, unless you're gonna give some to me
We hate money
And everyone who has it, we would do things that you couldn't imagine
We got trash on the porch, we never owned a Porsche
We only wear our neckties to weddings and to court
Our pay gets docked like it's coming into port
So we keep cigars split up like they're getting a divorce
Employees all annoyed, checks all void
Eminem's the only one still employed in Detroit
Bobzins and jobs from Nevada to Dakotas
And we're not Japanese but we're broke as Toyotas
Broseph, I know you know this fired and demoted
They're drinking tapwater 'cuz they can't afford sodas
Struggling, covering shifts just to buy Christmas gifts
Before Tiger had mistresses
We're at Wal-Mart, we hate Wall Street
As far as being in debt, we're balls deep
Collectors call me, fucking all week
But I send that shit straight to voicemail
We hate money
Broke people stand up, if you lack cash put a hand up
We hate money
And all the people getting paid, throw all your money on stage
We hate money
Dollars, cash, cheese, unless you're gonna give some to me
We hate money
And everyone who has it, we would do things that you couldn't imagine
They told us "Go to college, expand our domes"
Now we're jobless, with sixty thousand dollars in loans
And the bank account's minus, surviving debt
While the CEOs fly by in private jets
So let me see your lighters, the funds couldn't be tighter
And you call orderves appetizers
If your whole predicament's vile, but you're still trying to smile
With the bills piled for miles
Problems, we've got ninety-eight plus one, no trust funds
If the cops come we must run
I do it for my belt buckle, black lung,
White knuckle, blue collar
Cold-hearted slaves to the dollar saying
We hate money
Broke people stand up, if you lack cash put a hand up
We hate money
And all the people getting paid, throw all your money on stage
We hate money
Dollars, cash, cheese, unless you're gonna give some to me
We hate money
And everyone who has it, we would do things that you couldn't imagine
We hate money
Broke people stand up, if you lack cash keep your hands up
We hate money
And all the people getting paid, you can all go away
We hate money
(And) dollars (and) cash (and) cheese (and) unless you're gonna give some to me
We hate money
