Hospital bound, so you know there will be treatment.
Hey alright, it's too late ot put up a fight.
Hospital gowns, so you know you should be sleepin'
Wide awake, there's some pills that you shouldn't take.
Honest to God, X is always an unknown
I said alright, Y gets buired in the bones.
I said honest to God--if you don't get it off your chest
You don't have to stay around, you don't have to solve for X.
I'm afraid I found it's eternally unequal--
Hey alright, it's too late to put up a fight.
On the way back down, finally a sequel,
Hey alright, in a hospital room tonight.
Is it alright, and your exit's always an unknown
It's hard to hold on too tight, cuz I got buried with your bones.
And I said honest to God, if you don't get it off your chest--
All your reason gone tonight, you don't have to solve for X.
Hospital bound, so you know there will be treatment
Hey alright, in a hospital room tonight.
Hospital gowns, so you know you should be sleepin'
Wide awake, there's some pills that I shouldn't take.
And I said alright, X is always an unknown--
I tried to hold on too tight but I got buried with the bone.
And I said honest to God, I got to get it off my chest
Wanting to draw you out
Hiding in a safe place
Hiding with your eyes shut tightly
On the way to the hospital
No worries where we're at
The weather that we mostly had
Standing on the rafter
Hiding with your eyes shut tightly
On the way to the hospital
Before I close my eyes, I'm not gonna lie
To cut my mask
(leave the lies to the liars)
(leave the lies to the liars)
...ways you could die in the hospital
Then on the car ride home
Waiting for her head to explode
Waiting in a safe place
Hiding with your eyes shut tightly
On the way to the hospital
Before I close my eyes, I'm not gonna lie
(I'm not gonna lie)
To cut my mask
(leave the lies to the liars)
(leave the lies to the liars)
Before I close my eyes, I'm not gonna lie
(I'm not gonna lie)
To cut my mask
(leave the lies to the liars)
(leave the lies to the liars)
Leave the lies to the liars.
There's a disease going 'round the hospital
Green, green leaves falling from the trees
There's a disease going 'round the hospital
Green, green leaves falling from the trees
You gotta run away
You gotta spin a web
You gotta stay up late
You gotta stay in bed
There's a disease going 'round the hospital
Green, green leaves falling from the trees
There's a disease going 'round the hospital
Green, green leaves falling from the trees
You gotta run away
You gotta spin a web
You gotta stay up late
This feeling never leaves you alone
You pull the trigger on your own
Hiding in a safe place
Hiding with your eyes shut tightly
All the way to the hospital
Now will you ever rest your head
You end up feeling mostly dead
Pretending you're the last one
Hiding with your eyes shut tightly
All the way to the hospital
Before I cross my heart and hope to die at all
Take off my mask and leave the lies to the liars
It never used to hurt before
It isn't funny anymore
Feeling all alone now
Funny how you wish someway
That you'll die at the hospital
You're quiet on the car ride home
Waiting for your head to explode
Hiding in yoursafe place
Hiding with your eyes shut tightly
On the way to the hospital
(I don't feel okay) (I don't feel all right)
(Help me) (I don't know!)
Before I cross my heart, and hope to die at all
Take off my mask and leave the lies to the liars
(Before I close my eyes)
Before I close my eyes, I'm gonna give it up
(Take off my mask)
Take off my mask and leave the lies to the liars.
Leave the lies to the liars
Can you look at me in the face?
Would you look me in the face?
Three cheers you fooled them all
(come on now, hip, hip, hooray)
Three cheers you fooled them all
(come on now, hip, hip, hooray)
Hip, hip, hooray
Before I cross my heart, and hope to die at all
Take off my mask and leave the lies to the liars
(Before I close my eyes)
Before I close my eyes, I'm gonna give it up
(Take off my mask)
Take off my mask and leave the lies to the liars.
Leave the lies to the liars
Leave the lies to the liars.
Leave the lies to the liars.
Leave the lies to the liars.
You wanted to save her from her heavy metal behavior
Saw sadness in her world and so you made her be your girlfriend
When she sang those songs it made you cry
Now she's in the hospital
With a fracture to her skull
One tooth goes under her skin
Another comes out again
She told you all the stories of the girls and the girls and the boys
Of the drugs and of the parties
Loose morals and Bacardi's
When she said those words you felt twisted inside
Now she's in the hospital
With a fracture to her skull
One tooth goes under her the skin
Another comes out again
They picked her up off the carpet
At the bottom of the stairs to your apartment
They asked you lots of questions 'bout the bruises and the lesions
The police came and took you away
She's in the hospital
With a fracture to her skull
One tooth goes under her skin
Another comes out again
I live in a hospital.
I'm so sick of being sick on a fine day.
I live in a hospital.
Cut me open and figure me out on a fine day.
I'm so tired of these walls.
I live in a hospital.
It's nice to meet my anesthetist on a fine day.
I live in a hospital.
The grand corridor. A great number of operating-theatres people in white
aprons. They give hope to the sentenced to suffer. One can hear a patient's
groan from afar. Surgeons set his broken bone. An ambulance arrives. It's an
enamoured seventeen-years-old girl who found happiness in a razor's edge. Her
arteries colour hospital sheets blood-red. There is a robbery victim next door
who fights for his life. Hollowed eyes, torn out nails, torso burned out with
an oxacetylened welder so that one can see his heart beating. All that doesn't
let him recover. Hospital smell drifts in the air. It emphasizes victim's
So I've been sleeping with this silence in my mind
And all I see scares me
And no one knows it, but she, she saved me
So I've been sleeping with this silence in my brain
Awakening here everyday in this god damn place
I won't wait here anymore
It's still not quite the way it was
But you promised me this is love to stay
Watch the hospital that's
Just across the street
From your apartment balcony
I'll never ever leave there
I'll never leave
Oh, no one is watching now
Sing like you just might drown
But always come back here
'Cause I never got to see you once more, no
I guess that's all I wanted
Yeah, I guess that's all I needed
Now look, you've made a fool out of love
When all we want is to be enough
When all we want is to feel enough
It's still not quite the way it was
But you promised me this is love to stay
Watch the hospital that's just across the street
From your apartment balcony
I'll never ever leave there
I'll never leave
Watch the hospital that's just across the street
(It's still not quite the way it was)
From your apartment balcony
(But you promised me this is love to stay)
I'll never ever leave there
Dead, pale grey walls
Dead, cold, pale grey walls
Dead...
Spinning around realizing I'm trapped I freeze up
There's no way going back now my time's up
These corridors they fade away endless
Yet I can't help but smile at my helplessness
Oh It's a bitter smile at best
See I know I put myself in this mess
I sigh in regret and watch the walls move closer with every breath
And there's this voice inside my head
It's telling me to run
Not knowing how I know but just knowing I got to get out
I Just run
Run!
Hospital, you can't catch us all
We'll be long gone when you call
So we run
Trying not to miss a thing
We seize the day
And so in trying not to die
We live right now
(I awake to the faint beeps of machine
And for a second I'm lost, (where am I?)
This is not where I'm supposed to be (this can't be right)
But then I remember
See these machines are keeping me alive
Which I find highly ironic, see I haven't felt alive for weeks
If I knew that this was what was waiting here
I would have run, at least that's what I have to believe
I don't know I...
See the only escape from this
The boredom, the frailty, the death, from all of it are the dreams
And now even they seem to be fading
I used to dream adventures)
We don't want to end up
Like you all have done,
Trapped within these walls
It's like your buried alive
Look back on your lives
Let it flash before your eyes
Then compare it to mine
You lived mere minutes then died!
So we run
Trying not to miss a thing
We seize the day
And so in trying not to die
I can't breathe a whisper,
Which is why this rooms so loud,
And I can't make my bed,
But I'm made to lie in it alone,
And maybe, you'll come here to visit,
And you can sit and watch me sleep,
And we can talk of what you will,
But I'll miss the point 'cause all I have are dreams,
I've been asleep with the lights on,
For days on end now,
And I should've listened to someone,
Who could see this happening.
Won't you mend my broken head?
If I wake up, will your face fill this room?
I can't make it out yet,
But your voice sounds sweeter than it ever did,
Did I just hear you leaving?
Or have I been alone a while?
Maybe you'll come here to visit,
And your luck just might be in,
But it would be false hope, if any,
And I would'nt want to waste your time.
I've been asleep with the lights on,
For days on end now,
And I should've listened to someone,
Who could see this happening,
Won't you mend my broken head?
If I wake up, will your face fill this room?
Woah
Ba-Ba-Oooooh (various times)
I've been asleep with the lights on,
For days on end now,
And I should've listened to someone,
Who could see this happening.
Won't you mend my broken head?
If I wake up, will your face fill this room?
Woahhhh.
And I've been, plugged into machines at the side of the bed,
Woke up from a dream could've sworn I was dead,
And how long has it been because I miss you to death?
When you get out of the hospital
Let me back into your life
I can't stand what you do
I'm in love with your eyes
And when you get out of the dating bar
I'll be here to get back into your life
I can't stand what you do
I'm in love with your eyes
Oh, I can't stand what you do
Sometimes I can't stand you
And it makes me think about me
That I'm involved with you
But I'm in love with this power that shows through in your eyes
I go to bakeries all day long
There's a lack of sweetness in my life
And there is pain inside
You can see it in my eyes
Oh there is pain inside
You can see it in my eyes
Makes me think about me
That I've lost my pride
But I'm in love with this power that resides in your eyes
You live in modern apartments
Well I even got scared once or twice
Last time I walked down your street
There were tears in my eyes
Well these streets
We all know
They help us cry when we're alone late at night
Don't you love them too?
That where you got your eyes?
Oh I can't stand what you do
Sometimes I can't stand you
And it makes me think about me
How I'm involved with you
But I'm in love with this power that shows through in your eyes
Now... your world
It is beautiful
I'll take the subway to your suburb sometime
I'll seek out the places that must have been magic
to your little girl mind
Now as a little girl
You must have been magic
I still get jealous of your old boyfriends
in the suburbs sometimes
And when I walk down your street
Probably be tears in my eyes
(I knew it would happen)
I can't stand what you do
Sometimes I can't stand you
And it makes me think about me
That I'm involved with you
But I'm in love with this power that shows through in your eyes
So... when you get out of the hospital
Let me back into your life
I can't stand what you do
