[first lines]::Drew Latham: Folks, my firm's done a tremendous amount of marketing research and we've discovered two critical things, one; most Americans feel that Christmas is a time for family. Two; most Americans feel that in order to stand being around their family, for even one or two days, they need to swill as much alcohol as humanly possible.
Christine Valco: Tom, that guy is still here.::Tom Valco: Yeah, I know.::Christine Valco: Why is he still here?::Tom Valco: He's giving us $250,000 to be his family for Christmas.::Christine Valco: And you agreed to this without asking me?::Tom Valco: Of course I did, he's giving us $250,000!::Christine Valco: And how would you like it if I agreed to something like this without asking you?::Tom Valco: Well, that would depend. Would we be getting $250,000?
Drew Latham: Wow, I can't believe it. This is amazing. This is exactly how I remember it.::Brian Valco: You mean, you're saying it was always a shithole?
Drew Latham: Did you hear that? That stair squeaked. You know what we used to call that squeaky stair? The squeaky stair!
[last lines]::Missy Vanglider: Daddy, stop the car! A choir, chorale or chorus is a musical ensemble of singers. Choral music, in turn, is the music written specifically for such an ensemble to perform.
A body of singers who perform together as a group is called a choir or chorus. The former term is very often applied to groups affiliated with a church (whether or not they actually occupy the choir) and the second to groups that perform in theatres or concert halls, but this distinction is far from rigid.
The term "Choir" has the secondary definition of a subset of an ensemble; thus one speaks of the "woodwind choir" of an orchestra, or different "choirs" of voices and/or instruments in a polychoral composition. In typical 18th- to 21st-century oratorios and masses, chorus or choir is usually understood to imply more than one singer per part, in contrast to the quartet of soloists also featured in these works.
Choirs are often led by a conductor or choirmaster. Most often choirs consist of four sections intended to sing in four part harmony, but there is no limit to the number of possible parts as long as there is a singer available to sing the part: Thomas Tallis wrote a 40-part motet entitled Spem in alium, for eight choirs of five parts each; Krzysztof Penderecki's Stabat Mater is for three choirs of 16 voices each, a total of 48 parts. Other than four, the most common number of parts are three, five, six and eight.
Alex Boyé is a British-born Latter-day Saint singer and actor of Nigerian descent.
Boyé was born in London, England. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) at age 16. He served as a missionary in the England Bristol Mission. He was then the lead singer in the boy band Awesome, which sold over 500,000 CDs while on contract with Universal Records Europe. In 1999 Boyé left the band to begin a solo career, releasing his first solo album in 2000 which made it to number 12 on the European charts.[clarification needed][citation needed] In 2000 Boyé moved to Utah. He has since been involved in many musical and theatrical productions.
Boyé has been an actor for the Hale Centre Theatre in multiple productions and has played the role of Frederick Douglass in Frank Wildhorn's Civil War both at Hale Center and at Rogers Memorial Theatre in Centerville, Utah. He played the role of Aminadab in Lightstone Films' production of David and Goliath. He is a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, in addition to pursuing a solo career. In August of 2010 he participated as a featured soloist in a concert connected with the rededication of the Catholic church in St. George, Utah. In 2005 Boyé received an award from the LDS Booksellers Association for his album "Testimony". He had two solo parts in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's "Come Thou Fount" album.
Eric Whitacre (born 2 January 1970 in Reno, Nevada) is an American Grammy award winning composer, conductor and lecturer. He is one of the most popular and performed composers of his generation. In 2008, the all-Whitacre choral CD Cloudburst (released by the British ensemble Polyphony on Hyperion Records) became an international best-seller, topping the classical charts and earning a Grammy nomination. Robert Hollingworth commented: "what hits you straight between the eyes is the honesty, optimism and sheer belief that passes any pretension. This is music that can actually make you smile." In addition to Whitacre's litany of choral and wind ensemble compositions, he is also known for his "Virtual Choir" projects on YouTube, bringing individual voices from around the globe together in a cyber internet choir. His virtual choirs have exposed his music to a new audience and have helped it gain an unprecedented popularity. Whitacre signed a long-term recording deal with Decca in 2010 and continues to develop his award winning musical Paradise Lost. A concert version was given at Carnegie Hall in 2010. Plans for the stage show and soundtrack extend into 2013.

Howard Allan Stern (born January 12, 1954) is an American radio personality, television host, author, actor and photographer best known for his radio show which was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2005. He gained wide recognition in the 1990s where he was labeled a "shock jock" for his outspoken and sometimes controversial style. Stern has been exclusive to Sirius XM Radio, a subscription-based satellite radio service, since 2006. The son of a former recording and radio engineer, Stern wished to pursue a career in radio at the age of five. While at Boston University he worked at the campus station WTBU before a brief stint at WNTN in Newton, Massachusetts.
He developed his on-air personality when he landed positions at WRNW in Briarcliff Manor, WCCC in Hartford and WWWW in Detroit. In 1981, he was paired with his current newscaster and co-host Robin Quivers at WWDC in Washington, D.C. Stern then moved to WNBC in New York City in 1982 to host afternoons until his firing in 1985. He re-emerged on WXRK that year, and became one of the most popular radio personalities during his 20-year tenure at the station. Stern's show is the most-fined radio program, after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued fines to station licensees for allegedly indecent material that totaled $2.5 million. Stern has won Billboard's Nationally Syndicated Air Personality of the Year award eight times, and is one of the highest-paid figures in radio.
The water is rising The current is hypnotizing You're not the only one We all feel trepidation
Cross that river One rock at a time You can cross that river You can cross that river Never mind the rapid tide You can cross that river
The time has come for sure This is your great adventure The eagle is soaring high Fix you mind on the other side
Cross that river One rock at a time You can cross that river You can cross that river Never mind the rapid tide You can cross that river
But you're not gonna make it if you don't take a change And there's somebody on the shore holding out a branch
You've gotta believe it When the light comes down receive it Take my hand, pray for help And be true to your own self
Cross that river One rock at a time You can cross that river You can cross that river Never mind the rapid tide You can cross that river
But you're not gonna make it if you don't take a change And there's somebody on the shore holding out a branch
When you make that leap of faith beware Of the slippery moss You'll be amazed before you're halfway there Come on, move steady across
Cross that river One rock at a time You can cross that river You can cross that river Never mind the rapid tide You can cross that river
When you make that leap of faith beware Of the slippery moss You'll be amazed before you're halfway there Come on, move steady across You've already been baptized by fire You've been born again Take to the water, take to the sky Like a flying amphibian
She's no mantel figurine With a halo and a harp She's for real so it's a real good thing She shoots with rubber darts She's trying to free the tangled kite From the branches in her brain If she could sh would Purify the acid rain
She's evolving And problem solving Her spirit revolving Like a wind whirl
She's such a strange girl In such good ways A strange girl She's so strange In such good ways
She doesn't care about sparking jewels Got a twinkle in her eye She keeps taking me to school Where the rules change all the time She's disinclined to blindly trust Medieval papal scribes Dangerously curious, adventurous The queen of her own tribe
She's evolving And problem solving Her spirit revolving Like a wind whirl
Tell me how the sky is falling
Into what was once the sea
How the ground is crackin' up
To swallow you
To swallow me
Let the devils of a lost world
Raise their planet from the dea
Angel cover me with kisses
And I won't hide my head
No I won't hide my head
No no no
I won't mind
should the sun refuse to shine
No no no
I won't crawl
Let the sky fall
See the preacher board the peace train
With a a hatchet in his hand
Isn't that one fraudulent
Ticket that you're holding, man
Let the proud religious soldier
Guard the dream that he's been sold
Heaven fill my cup with mercy
I won't hide my gold
I won't hide my gold
No no no
I won't mind
should the sun refuse to shine
No no no
I won't crawl
Let the sky fall
Let the sky fall
When the clouds of sorrow hover
Everybody dreads the flood
In the garden of Gethsemane
the Lord Himself sweat blood
But the ending to that story
It was written from the start
Paint the winter night with true love
And I won't hide my heart
No I won't hide my heart
No no no
I won't mind
should the sun refuse to shine
No no no
I won't crawl
Let the sky fall
Let the sky fall
Wide-eyed wonder girl
Starin' into the sky and wondering why
It's a good, great world
But it turns around
Nevermind the ground
Look up high, stars above
Please don't cry, father's love
Hold on tight to his hand
Dream tonight, understand
Wide-eyed wonder girl
Starin' into the sky and wondering why
It's a good, great world
But it turns around
Nevermind the ground
Look up high, dancing bear
Please don't cry, daddy's prayer
Hold on tight to my hand
Dream tonight, wonderland
Wide-eyed wonder girl
Staring into the sky, wondering why
It's a good, great world
But it turns you'll see
If the darkness hesitates
For a hundred years or more
I'll treasure every waking dream of You
Even in this twilight hour
Visions of a brighter shore
Give me hope until the night is through
But when the morning comes
I'll walk with You
Forever more
Forever new
And when the shadows run
From the morning sun
I'll understand
When the morning comes
When the morning comes
Now I watch with eyes open wide
As your mystery unfolds
Living for the things that I can keep
No, I will not be seduced
By the world with all her gold
I would gladly leave her while she sleeps
And when the morning comes
I'll walk with you
Forever more
Forever new
When the shadows run
From the morning sun
I'll understand
When the morning comes
He feigns a heart of passion
And stains to emphathize
He prays for hungry children
But tears don't fill his eyes
He hears men scream in darkness
And fears for their demise
He calls on God to save them
But tears don't fill his eyes
Tears don't fall, they don't fall down
He wants to be a soldier
But not enough to die
He loves the Man of Sorrows
But not enough to cry
Tears don't fall, they don't fall down
In the mirror I fear the man I see
And wonder how his heart grew cold
I lie awake at night and I curse this apathy
Where's the fire in this soul?
I see you well
But I can't tell
If you are young or old, dear
I love you so
But I don't know
If we are hot or cold here
Until by death we fade
I'll try to trade you
Grin for grin
I know how it feels to be humiliated
How it burns to feel small
I wish all your giants to be capitulated
Every demon to crawl
But I don't do any more than kneel and pray
I can't say any more than sure is sunny
Sure is sunny today
I know how it feels to be humiliated
How it burns to feel small
I wish all your giants to be decapitated
Every demon to crawl
Set my guitar on fire
With a long-stemmed match
Dance while it burns
And laugh when it turns to ash
I would torch everything to keep you warm
I would do anything to keep you from harm
I would do anything
To cover you body and soul, girl
I would give everything in the world
To cover you, to cover you
Walk down a dark street
Naked on a winter night
Run from the law
Like the Sunday I saw the light
To defend your spirit I would go to war
I would chase the devil to Jehovah's door
I would do anything
To cover you body and soul, girl
I would give everything in the world
To cover you
I would do anything
To wrap you up tight on a cold night
I would give everything that I have
I suppose you're doin' all right now
Making beautiful music on a white cloud
The Father, Son and a holy host of angels
Surely sent up three cheers
Even as your mortal friends
Shed a few tears
We miss you down here
Hey Gene, we remember you
Yeah we laugh when we think of Eugene
Hey Gene, we remember you
Yeah we cry when we think of you Gene
Hey Gene, we remember you
Yeah we love you
Anyway, hey Gene
I suppose you've found some peculiar
Creatures to get to know
You always were a curious kind soul
Sad you had to go so soon
Hey Gene...
Flap your wings
I feel the dust and gravel under my feet
I suppose you're walkin' down golden streets
Everybody always forgave you
A child of mystery
And I remember you were merciful to me
Hey Gene...
Give Jesus a kiss for us
Hey Gene...
Flap your wings, flap your wings
Consider your laughter
Consider my tears
Consider my love
Consider your fear
Consider one small child
Consider your cross
Consider the hope that withers like a flower
Consider my loss
Consider the fire
Consider the night
Consider the truth
Consider the light, my love
Consider your heart
Consider your heart
Consider your heart
Consider my love, my love
Consider the darkness
Consider my love, my love
Consider the flame
Consider my love, my love
Consider the ghost of the living savior
Remember my love
Remember my name
Consider your heart
Remember my name
Consider your heart
Remember my name
He's got his purple nose pressed
Against your icy window
Perhaps you will allow polar boy in
So he can warm himself by your fire
Polar boy is looking for fire
You surely should avoid any risky innuendo
He'd like to thaw his frozen frame
Against your skin
You know he's flaming with desire
Polar boy is playing with fire
Polar boy is playing with fire
Polar boy...
He does deserve to swing
He surely should be swinging from a noose
Now he's speeding through the school zone
Liquored up and loose
Likely to flip and burn in a fire
Polar boy is swallowing fire
Like the snake who calls the lizard a reptile
Like the chimp who calls the jester a clown
When I tell you, "You oughta be ashamed or yourself"
I've gotta set my knees on the ground
O how the mighty have fallen
O how the reckless are crawling now
O how the mighty have fallen
Such a long way down
Thank you, please don't swing your shovel at my head,
friend
No, I truly won't appreciate that sound
When you tell me I surely should atone for my sin
I hope you know the fate of the proud
Jesus turned water into wine on a merry occasion
A miracle for Caananites, a wedding celebration
And I do realize moderation is a truly wise ideal
Away with the swine
With the demons of insanity
Away with the swine
Away with indecency
Set the mad men free
I was freed when I was a child in parochial school
dress
Although I rarely really ran wild one sister swore I
was possessed
Under oath I would have to confess how my friends and I
set fires
Away with the swine
With the demons of insanity
Away with the swine
Away with the indecency
Set the mad men free
Away with the swine
With the demons of debauchery
Away with the swine
Away with indecency
Set the mad men free
Away with the swine
With the demons of insanity
Away with the swine
Away with idolatry
Set us all free
La la la la la la la la la
On a merry occasion.
La la la la la la
Searching for a world of consolation
In a world divided by man's fear
Searching for a peace I've often dreamed of
A better world, a better place than this
Another world
Everyday brings unknown situations
What is real and what are only lies
Praying for eternam bright tomorrows
Hoping that our souls will never die
Another world
Voice calling I don't understand
I hope you're glad to be where you're at
I don't mind living where we are
It's a suitable climate
A fine habitat for the yellow-haired monkeys in the yard
Yellow-haired monkeys in the yard
A friend of mine
Ya know he's flat broke
Just delivered me a fat cigar
It's a beautiful excuse for a celebrative smoke
It's a yellow-haired monkey for the yard
Another yellow-haired monkey for the yard
When I can’t hold on much longer
To a rope weathered and frayed
When I can’t find hope and I’m losing faith
The savior reaches in
To still the howling wind
To calm the storm within
To rescue me
To rescue me
When I think I might surrender
To the vengeance of the tide
When I’m lost in sin and I don’t see light
The savior reaches low
Under the torrid flow
To save my sinking soul
And rescue me
The savior calls my name
When I feel most ashamed
He comes to take the blame
And rescue me
To rescue me
Before you kill me honey recognize
I'm your one way rumblin' ride
Through yellow skies
I'm your sunshine truckin' man
I'm doin' everything I can
To realize
The yellow skies
(I wanna go with you to Heaven
I wanna drink you like a flower drinks rain
I wanna float you like a feather)
Were you cryin' in the kitchen?
Did you paint the four walls blue?
Was it something I said?
Something that I did to you?
Sometimes, love is really sad
But you don't have to feel so bad all day
We can ride away
Let's go outside, open up our eyes
And exchange this cloudy room
For a yellow sky
I'm your sunshine truckin' man
I'm doin' everything I can
To realize
The yellow skies
Saucers in the kitchen
Flyin' like UFOs
It's a mystical experience
Mama never told me so
Sometimes love can twist your head
But you don't have to wish me dead today
Close your eyes and pray
Before you kill me angel recognize
I'm your one way rumblin' ride
Through yellow skies
I'm your sunshine truckin' man
I'm doin' everything I can
To realize
To realize
Open up our eyes
Everybody drinks the water from the murky pool
Surely as you think you're well
You know your belly aches
Everybody learns religion at the blind man's school
Will you reach for Heaven
When the preacher charms the snake
Is your faith so right
Are you so blessed
Everybody wanders in the forest
Is your heart so true
Count the butts and bottles
In the morning when we're gone
Fools agree reality is more than we should bare
How do you gaze into the sun from dusk to dawn
We love the truth enough to die but we won't swear
Is your faith so right
Are you so blessed
Everybody wanders in the forest
Is your heart so true
Are you so good
Everybody wanders in the woods
Everybody begs the juror be more than merciful
For the crime we celebrate for bigotry we learn
Everybody drinks the water from the murky pool
Surely as it heals your soul you feel your body burn
Is your faith so right
Are you so blessed
Everybody wanders in the forest
Is your heart so true
Are you that good
Everybody wanders in the woods
Everybody wanders in the forest
I'll wait outside a moment
You watch the clock on the wall
Listen closely, I'll say when
Sing "London Bridge is Falling"
No change at all
Now could the beats when I come in
Listen how fast my little girl's heart beats
When she sees me
Listen how fast my little girl's heart beats
When she sees me
She never minds the weather
She likes the flashes of light
I say, "Love, beware black skies"
She's not afraid of winter
Or thunderous nights
She follows rainbows in my eyes
Listen how fast my little girl's heart beats
When she sees me
Listen how fast my little girl's heart beats
When she sees me
The minute hand on the seven
Second hand on the three
Listen how fast my little girl's heart beats
We hold each other so close
We dance around and around
She likes the music that I play
She wants to bust out laughing
She's learning how
She wonders if I'm home to stay
Listen how fast my little girl's heart beats
When she sees me
The minute hand on the eight now
A hundred and fifty-three
Listen how fast my little girl's heart beats
She makes a lot of trouble, yeah
When things don't go the way she plans
Discusses strange theology - nobody understands
She makes noise
She breaks toys
She brings me tears of joy
Cherry bomb, cherry bomb
With a face just like a cherub
She's a bomb, yeah
She makes her presence known
Cherry bomb, cherry bomb
With a face just like a cherub
She's sweet as anything I know
She never takes things lightly, no
Her little heart explodes sometimes
I hold her tightly in my arms
She really blows her Daddy's mind
She thrills me
She kills me
She spills grape juice on me
Because the river froze
When the dead criminal rose
Nobody recognizes every sky
But any dead dog knows
Never trust a weather girl
She grins when she warns you
Never trust a weather girl
Everything gray was silver
Everyone wise was blind
Heaven itself was falling into her eyes
Because the wolf was howling
Because the moon was on the rise
Because the sun was fading
Because the storm was in her eyes
She's a wicked cloud
The devil prays for her
You know she tastes like cinnamon rain
And she reeks of myrrh
Never kiss a weather girl
She grins when she warns you
Never kiss a weather girl
Everything gray was silver
Everyone wise was blind
Heaven itself was falling into her eyes
Because the wolf was howling
Because the moon was on the rise
Because the sun was fading
Because the storm was in her eyes
Never trust a weather girl
She laughs when she kills you
Never kiss a weather girl
Everything gray was silver
Everyone wise was blind
Heaven itself was falling into her eyes
Because the wolf was howling
Because the moon was on the rise
Because the sun was fading
Because the storm was in her eyes
Because the wolf was howling
Because the moon was on the rise
Because the sun was vanishing
If I trust you
Like I say I do
Why am I so afraid of the dark
If I know you
As the friend you are
Why do I fear you lines in my heart
We should be dancing
Dancing with you...
If we love you
Sing you songs of praise
Why are we fighting among ourselves
If your spirit makes our hearts as one
We should be celebrating your son
We should be dancing
Chicago might be cold
How nice the way you've folded
Everything so neatly
We'll talk when I get back
I wish I could retract
Things I said so indiscreetly
We give we take
We build we break
We stare at the moon and we sigh
We give we take
For heaven's sake
I never wanna make you cry
I'll see you in an hour
I'm bringin' home some flowers
I just wanna be a blessing
And if you feel the need
To give me something sweet
That's a motive I'm confessing
We give we take
We build we break
We stare at the moon and we sigh
We give we take
For heaven's sake
I never wanna make you cry
I just wanna make your sky brighter
I just wanna make your heart lighter
I just wanna set your world on fire...
Away we go again
Too early in the morning
Just one more thought or three
Before I say goodbye
Insurance policies
Are in the second drawer, love
Now, listen close to one last
Sad sigh
For the words I never would say
If I were to bid farewell my love today
A glad sigh
For the promise of a new day
If I were to bid farewell and fly away
I've sung a thousand songs
Give or take four hundred
Tried to ride the clouds
I know you came along
I feel some turbulence now
And if this were farewell, friend
Would you hear one final
Sad song
For the songs I never would sing
If I were to bid farewell my friend today
A glad song
As the bells beyond the night ring
And though I walked beneath the Moon
The sun was in my eyes
So this is not a sorry tune
But Heaven help me
A sad sigh
For the words I never would say
If I were to bid farewell the world today
A glad sigh
For the promise of a new day
If I were to bid farewell and fly away
A sad sigh
For the songs I never could sing
If I were to bid farewell to you today
A glad song
As the bells beyond the night ring
If I were to bid farewell and fade away
If I were to bid farewell and fade away
There's an oasis in the heat of the day
There's a fire in the chill of night
A turnabout in circumstance
Makes each a hell in its own right
I've been boxed-in in the lowlands
In the canyons that think
I've been pushed to the brink of the precipice
And dared not to blink
I've been confounded in the whirlwind
Of what-if's and dreams
I've been burned by the turning of the wind
Back upon my own flames
Knock the scales from my eyes
Knock the words from my lungs
I want to cry out
It's on the tip of my tongue
I've seen through the walls of this kingdom of dust
Felt the crucial revelation
But the broad streets of the heart and the day-to-day
Meet at a blind intersection
I don't want to be lonely, I don't want to feel pain
I don't want to draw straws with the sons of Cain
You can take it as a prayer if you'll remember my name
You can take it as the penance of a profane saint
Knock the scales from my eyes
Knock the words from my lungs
I want to cry out
It's on the tip of my tongue...
There's an oasis in the heat of the day
There's fire in the chill of night
And when I know them both, I'll know your love
I will feel it in the twilight
As circumstance comes crashing
Through my walls like a train
Or like a chorus from the mountains of the ocean floor
Like the wind-burst of birdwings taking flight in a
hard rain
Or like a mad dog on the far side of Dante's Door
Knock the scales from my eyes
Knock the words from my lungs
I want to cry out
Mahatma Gandhi was a gentle soul
Muhammad spoke of peace, or so I'm told
The Buddha would agree
With MLKJR
Find it in your heart
Have Mercy
The message is not a curse
A weapon of ancient verse
Come out of the Dark Age
Turn the light on
The light on
I've already heard enough
To know what I'm certain of
The word inside the Word is "love"
The Son of Yahweh was a man of tears
A prophet in a land of profiteers
Now He calls to me
And He's calling out to you
Clearly, truly
Have mercy mercy, mercy
The message is not a curse
A weapon of ancient verse
Come out of the Dark Age
Turn the light on
The light on
I've already heard enough
To know what I'm certain of
The word inside the Word is "love"
Find it in your heart
In your heart
Deep inside your soul
Find it in your heart
In your heart
Deep inside your soul
Every child is
Heaven's own
Drop the stone
The message is not a curse
A weapon of ancient verse
Come out of the Dark Age
Turn the light on
The light on
I've already heard enough
To know what I'm certain of
What about the thunder we hear
Any time the lightning reappears?
Never fear the darkness of the shock
Three hundred sixty strokes before Heaven
Already eleven o'clock
Listen to the warbler's rhapsody
He never chirps any funeral melody
He doesn't mind the night sky or the hawk
Sorry lovers take wing under Heaven
Bells ringing eleven o'clock
Eleven o'clock
You must believe it true when I swear we're alive
Beware the deceiver
He's a killer and a liar
A killer and a liar
Listen to how the coyote sings at the sight
Never mind that drum dirge you hear droning
Fade away into oblivion
Let decay anyone moaning
Anyone moaning
You must believe it true when I swear we're alive
Beware the deceiver
He's a killer and a liar
A chiller of desire
Your spirit and your eyes are on fire
Listen to the warbler's rhapsody
He never sings any funeral melody
Disregard anybody moaning
Never mind that drum dirge droning
What about that thunder we both hear
Anytime the lightning reappears?
Never dread the mystery of the shock
Three hundred sixty strokes to touch Heaven
It's only eleven o'clock
Nobody gave Mark McCain any trouble
They knew the rifleman was his pa
I saw Lucas on one of those "quit smoking"
Schick Center commercials once
It must be cool to have an iron jaw
Whatever happened to the Rifleman?
I've got a job for the Rifleman, the Rifleman
Whenever trouble came riding into North Fork
The fearful fair folk were never alone
The tall sod-buster let the bad guys make the first move
Shot 'em full of lead said "son, let's go home"
Whatever happened to the Rifleman?
I've got a job for the Rifleman, the Rifleman
He really knew how to settle a score
Mercy knocks on the devil's door
When I pray for peace and revel in war
I always wanted a shirt like Mark wore
Render love to your world
Render love to your world
Render love to your world
Render love to your world
Render love
I have tasted poison, still I remain restored
By centuries of saving seas where living waters pour
I am the ocean
Purified by all the tears of time
I am bitter and sublime
I am the ocean
Disregard the wreckage under healing tide
All the shame in Jesus' name
Was covered when He died
We are the ocean
Glorious and sanctified by pain
We are blessed by the rain
We are the ocean
Acid clouds will threaten but you won't be defiled
Cleansing love from God above will shower you dear
child
You are the ocean,
Beautiful and driven by the wind
You are wondrous deep within
You are the ocean
I am the ocean
Purified by all the tears of time
I am bitter and sublime
I am the ocean
We are the ocean
I could tell you there is no troll in the valley
No tricky ghoul behind the trees
Yeah, I could tell you there is no molester
In the alley
To take a lead pipe to your knee
But you won't believe it 'cause it ain't true
You won't believe it 'cause it ain't true
Rivers flowing through your precious body blue
Trickle crimson when the chicken claws you
I could assure you
You could not be swallowed by the ground
Since we've moved away from L.A.
And I could tell you no child of Jesus will be found
Under rubble somewhere today
But you won't believe it 'cause it ain't true
You won't believe it 'cause it ain't true
Rivers flowing through your precious body blue
Trickle crimson when the chicken claws you
Yes, I could swear it
I will not betray another friend
I've found true love and I've lost an eye
And I might promise never to hurt you again
Cross my contrite heart, hope to die
But you won't believe it 'cause it ain't true
You won't believe it 'cause it ain't true
Rivers flowing through your precious body blue
In one day
The planet turned around
Turned around
Much has changed
Now you're upside down
Upside down
The moon
Faintly glowing now
The sun
Worlds away
Sad child
Go on cry
That melancholy ghost is haunting your heart
Sad child
Go on cry
That melancholy ghost
Is haunting your young heart
Tears
On your face
Ever so softly burn
Softly burn
Love
Is so unfair
Every mortal learns
We all learn
The earth
Feels so cold tonight
The sky
Seems so dark
Sad child
Go on cry
That melancholy ghost is haunting your heart
Sad child
Go on cry
That melancholy ghost
Is haunting your young heart
Tonight you hear those chains rattling
in the dungeon
Banshees wailing
Warning of impending doom
Honey it's true, the mornin's comin' soon
Just
Yesterday
Your laughter filled the room
Filled the room
Life
Is known to play
Unfunny tricks on you
Tricks on you
The stars
Danced into your dreams
Then vanished
Before your eyes
Sad child
Go on cry
That melancholy ghost is haunting your heart
Sad child
Go on cry
That melancholy ghost
No creature more lovely
No spirit more dear to me
And if I cannot hold you
I still wish you all the joy in the world
How dark is the universe
How cold is the rain on this earth
So long have I loved you
Since I was a child and you were a girl
What a terrible mystery
How I searched for the key
To unlock your guarded heart
And set your love free
What a beautiful dream
I tried more than anything
To unlock your heart
And set your love free
A terrible mystery
It's alright I'm movin' on
Some days the pain is gone
No longer searching for
The treasure in you
I never could own
I smile when I see you now
This planet keeps turning around
And I don't cry anymore
Only once in awhile
When I'm all alone
Hey, everybody out
Let's play outside
Ooh, that dreaded ear-buzzing
Yeah, it's poison time
We never saw the world more green
Nor the sky so clear
Spring is finally here
Love is alive in you
Love is alive in you
Believe in your own reflection
See it in my eyes
Love is alive in you
Don't say it isn't true
Believe in the resurrection
See it in my eyes
Follow any line
On your face
Oh, identify the pain
Yeah, now feel it fading
I think I know you better now
Than a season ago
Well enough to know
Love is alive in you
Love is alive in you
Believe in your own reflection
See it in my eyes
Love is alive in you
Don't say it isn't true
Believe in the resurrection
See it in my eyes
I know you so much better now
Than I did at the start
Find it in your heart
Love is alive in you
Love is alive in you
Believe in your own reflection
See it in my eyes
Love is alive in you
Don't say it isn't true
Believe in the resurrection
Were you talking to the snowman?
Did you take his cruel advice?
Does the ghost of Heaven whisper
"Mercy, mercy"
Did you hear the cock crow thrice?
Let the fire rise up inside you
High enough to melt you down
Let the wind blow through your spirit and
Spin you around...
Would you like to lay the gun down?
Are you paralyzed with fear?
Does the ghost of Heaven cry out
"Sister, brother!"
Is the voice to small to hear?
Let the fire rise up inside you
High enough to melt you down
Let the wind blow through your spirit and
You blow the candle out
You take a shovel to my head
Hey, I appreciate that sound
A true tone resonating
So, now, I'm less alive than dead
And maybe I won't hang around tonight
'Cause I'm already dying
I'm already flying
It seems like I'm flying toward the sun
Yes, I'm already dying
I'm already flying
In my dreams I'm flying toward the sun
I'm flying through the Heavens
A tabernacle to the sun
You know I'd take you if I could
No I can't save your sorry soul
I only want to be the one
To kiss your spirit from face to foot
And I'm already dying
I'm already flying
It seems like I'm flying toward the sun
Yes, I'm already dying
In my dreams I'm flying
In my dreams I'm flying toward the sun
You put the fire out
You take a shovel to my head
Hey, I appreciate that sound
A true tone resonating
So, now, I'm less alive than dead
Speckled birds of prey coming down
Great guns, flesh borders
No time to sing "God bless..."
High church disorder
Tall dark evangelist
Red brick, loose mortar
Here in Los Angeles
Woke up one morning
Shakin' so hard
I need someone to hold on to
Someone higher than the stars
I need someone to hide under
Should the sky fall on my car
I need someone to hold on to
One last crescendo
The band won't play all night
Look out your window
Here comes the fire light
Tonight, tomorrow
I say we hold on tight
Some sing "it's alright..."
In temples and bars
I need someone to hold on to
Someone higher than the stars
I need someone to hide under
Should the sky fall on my car
I need someone to hold on to
Still chained, the free man
Who sore the slave was dead
Don't run to me then
The frightened fool you've wed
Can't find the tree stand?
No, not the spider shed!
Forget the foothills
You won't get far
You need someone to hold on to
Someone higher than the stars
You need someone to drive under
So the sky won't crush your car
I need someone to hold on to
Someone higher than the moon
I need someone to hide under
'Cause the sky is falling soon
You need someone to hold on to
An hour of this, a season of that
You'd better turn up the thermostat
'Cause you'll be sleeping' alone tonight
November whispers and shakes her fist
Leaves fall down with promises
I won't be there to dry your eyes
So, please, don't cry
When I'm so far away
So far away, my love
What can I do or say?
When I'm so far away
I'm lost by day and workin' all night
I read your note about the pilot light
Didn't I fix that thing before?
An extra blanket will have to do
You know I can't come home to you
Shut the windows tight, lock the door
I've seen that sky before
And I'm so far away
So far away, my love
There's nothing I can do or say
When I'm so far away
And I'm so far away
So far away, my love
A summer sun, a winter-gray moon
Read a mystery, I'll be home soon
What did you say? It's hard to hear
I miss your touch, I need your smile
Would you love a frightened child?
If I were there, if you were here
If I were near
But I'm so far away
So far away, my love
I can't hear a word you say
When I'm so far away
And I'm so far away
So far away, my love
What can I do? What can I say?
You don't have to whip my hide
I'd love to take you for a ride
I need affection, drink, and food
You don't have to yell out rudely
Absolutely not
'Cause I'm a sled dog
Don't tether me to a pole
Put something in my bowl
I'm a sled dog
I'm your sled dog
10 or 12 degrees below
I'm happy trudging through the snow
I'll enter any chariot race
You can see the pride on my face
I'll get us through the fog
I'm a sled dog
I'll take you for a ride
You don't have to whip my hide
Never tether me to the pole
I'm a free flying soul
I'm a sled dog
I'm your sled dog
Sled dog
Yes I'll try to be agile
Like a lynx on the hunt
Cause I don't want to knock any candles over
Or spill any punch
On your shiny floor
On your shiny floor
Yes I want to keep composed
Like a snake while I'm here
No I don't care to shed any skin unnecessarily
Let alone any tears
On your shiny floor...
And you better believe
Before it makes you grieve
I'll wipe it up with my sleeve...
Yes I plan to lie so low
Like a snake in the mud
No I don't care to show my fangs to the innocent
Or spill any blood
On your shiny floor...
So I'll try to be agile
Like a Saskatoon lynx
Cause I don't want to set your world on fire
Or spill any drink
On your shiny floor...
Like a snake in the mud
Demon of love
Seraph of treason
Heaven above
Show me the reason
Was the ruler of darkness the angel of light
Did I wake up one morning a creature of night
Can a justified sinner discern wrong from right
CHORUS
When I turn
From your face
Render mercy and grace
Red blood rain
From the sky
God have merciful eyes
Merciful eyes
Innoncent tears
Day of the dancer
Heaven come near
Whisper the answer
Did the dead man arise when she entered the room
Did I smell love decaying and call it perfume
Should a justified man know the grave from the womb
CHORUS
Swear by the Ghost
Promises broken
Baby come close
Sorry words spoken
Would the Spirit of Truth make a liar understand
If I reach for the blue with my face in the sand
No you can't go back
Or defy the clock
Brace your mind for impact
Let your soul absorb the shock
It's a turbulent
Unfamiliar atmosphere
Footprints in the garden
You're not the first one here
No, you don't have wings
That was just pretend
Blistered feet keep moving
Give your spirit to the wind
Mournful chimes ring true
Still a hopeful song resounds
Way down deep inside you
You can hear it even now
Breath in, breath out
Heart don't fail
Embrace the moment
Shadow of doubt
Never prevail
Alas, you know it
Now he's at your door
There's no place to hide
Pay the tax colector
'Cause he won't be denied
No, you can't return
To a world of innocence
Think of all you have learned
Time to take your medicine
Breath in, breath out
Heart don't fail
Embrace the moment
Shadow of doubt
Never prevail
Climb on up now from the slippery dark
Rest your belly on a sunny rock
Hey isn't the light ok?
Isn't the day alright?
Well, what if your head won't raise to the sun?
Catch the rain on your tongue
Set your eyes on the truth
Surrender your spirit to the wind
Set your heart free
Climb on up now from the slippery dark
Rest your belly on a sunny rock
Hey isn't the light ok?
Isn't the day alright?
Well, what if your head won't raise to the sun?
There's a crystal in the window
Throwing rainbows around
There's a girl by the mirror
And her feet won't touch the ground
'Cause she never saw the sky so bright
Isn't that like a cloud to come by night?
Nevermind the sky
There's a tear in her eye
A sad face is good for the heart
Go on cry, does it seem be a cruel world?
A sad face is good for the heart of a girl
A sad face
There's a woman in my kitchen
With a rainbow on her cheek
Well isn't that a promise?
Still I never felt so weak
There's a tiny spirit in a world above
Cradled so sweetly in our Father's love
So you don't have to cry
No there's something in my eye
A sad face is good for the heart
Maybe just now, I don't understand
A sad face is good for the heart of a man
A sad face is good for the heart
It's alright, you don't have to smile
A sad face is good for the heart of a child
For the heart of a child
For the heart of a child
For the heart of a child
A sad face
A sad face
She saw me on the table
Frozen through and through
A doctor walked into the room
And cut me clean in two
A blue light shining on my face
She thought she saw me smile
Eyes aglow and blinkin' all the while
The layers each were plain to see
She thought of cherries jubilee
And then remembered it was me
So she screamed
The doctor, in complete control, said
"Worry not, I'll stitch him whole
But now the sun will warm his soul"
It was a dream
They set me by the window
Upon two silver trays
The nurse was quite the angel
Singin', "come down Heavenly rays"
A white light shining on my face
She knew she saw me smile
Eyes aglow and blinkin' all the while
".. in this particular dream, it was that
you were very cold. You were frozen. God
needed to touch the parts of you that were cold
and warm them."
The layers each were plain to see
She thought of Cherries Jubilee
And then remembered it was me
So she screamed
The doctor, in complete control, said
"Worry not, I'll stitch him whole
But now the Son will warm his soul"
It was a dream
I call to you
With one lung exploded
From breathing the dust of the earth
With my tongue eroded
From licking the crust of the earth
A tear away from reconciled
A prayer away from whole
Restore my soul...
I cry to you
With two eardrums blistered
From laughing with preachers of night
With my vertebrae twisted
From dancing with creatures of night
A day away from sanctified
A breath away from whole
Restore my soul...
I crawl to you
With ten fingers smoking
From turning the pages of sin
With my spirit choking
From earning the wages of sin
A bridge away from justified
A step away from whole
Ash is what fools reap, war what they sow
What does a man gain, who loses his soul?
What can a man rule who conquers his world
Then falls out his window and loses his girl?
Render love
Let there be peace in the land
Reconcile women and man
Lay down your weapons and lift up your fear
Stranger meet brother, pass the peace pipe
See in the man's eyes no stereotype
Love waits at our door the spirit divine
Sow it in your heart, reap it in mine
Render love
Let there be peace in the land
Reconcile women and man
Lay down your weapons and lift up your fear
Render love
Hold out your hand, be the one
Reconcile father and son
Love is the reason you're here
Render love to your world
Render love to your world
Render love to your world
Render love to your world
Render love
Let there be peace in the land
Reconcile women and man
Lay down your weapons and lift up your fear
Render love
Hold out your hand, be the one
Reconcile father and son
Lord, make me an instrument of thy Peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow Love.
Where there is injury, thy Pardon, Lord.
Where there is doubt, let there be Faith.
Oh Lord, make me an instrument of thy Peace.
Where there is despair, let me bring Hope.
Where there is darkness, let there be Light.
Where there is sadness, let there be Joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek:
To be consoled, as to console,
To be understood, as to understand,
To be loved, as to love.
Lord, make me an instrument of thy Peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow Love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it's in dying that we are born
To eternal life, to eternal life.
Lord, make me an instrument of thy Peace.
Nobody gets a smooth ride(x4)
Every child will learn how the asphalt burns
When he takes sharp turn too wide
Nobody gets a smooth ride
I'm really sorry the way things are going these days
Try to be careful, that's all I can say
I'm really sorry the way things are going
Civilians needn't wear guns (x4)
Bullets rain on us
The hapless populace
Fools will shoot the sky just for fun
Civilians need't wear guns
I'm really sorry the way things are going these days
Try to be careful that's all i can say
I'm really sorry the way things are going
High flyers oughta use nets (x4)
Hold on tight to the bar
Circus trapeze star
What a shame should you fall to your death
High flyers oughta use nets
I'm realy sorry the way things are going these days
Try to be careful, that's all i can say
I'm really sorry the way things are going these days
Try to be careful, that's all i can say
I'm really sorry the way things are going
There's a Yankee in the Cumberland
With a pistol in his boot
Dreamin' about salty water
And he's lookin' for a snake to shoot
I'm thinkin' it won't get any worse
I'm thinkin' about buying you a hat and a purse
I'm wishing I never came here
You know my heart was ever sincere
And every now and then I realize
You are rhythm you are melody
Giving me that silent torture
You might as well poison my tea
I'm thinkin' it won't get any worse
I'm thinkin' about buying you a hat and a purse
I'm thinkin' about strangling you
You know that never was more untrue
(Thinkin' about predestination
Predestination and free will
What about that wonderful plan)
There's a Christian underneath his house
Trying to recall the light
He's praying for divine intervention
Her lips are frozen to the pipe
I'm thinkin' it can't get any worse
I'm thinkin' about buying you a hat and a purse
I'm dreaming about thrilling you
Oh honey, my heart was never more true
(People don't travel with pens anymore)
Now I must have a word with
Mr. Chandler
Your ticket has been modified, Mr. Chandler
The K has been changed
Crudely to a T
It is my obligation, my responsibility
Kim could your wife; she could be your sister
Such is my life
I must inform you Mister
Chandler
Mr. Chandler
You've got a fraudulent ticket
A fraudulent ticket, Mr. Chandler
Mr. Chandler
You've got a fraudulent ticket
At last we got to Winnipeg
Manitoba
Drive into the wilderness
And played the show
We found a pair of boats
And rowed out on that lake
Fired up four smoky treats
Joked about the day
Kim could be your niece
Your Aunt
Your daughter
We howled like ghouls on that cool black water
Chandler
Mr. Chandler
You've got a fraudulent ticket
A fraudulent ticket, Mr. Chandler
Mr. Chandler
You've got a fraudulent ticket
I cannot let you fly
I cannot let you fly
(Flight 144 to Saskatchewan boarding now)
I’m not a clover in the murky mire
I’m not a gold ring in the mud
Sadly sinking
I’m not a carnival balloon
Goin’ down slow but soon
More like a chemical fire
Unrelenting
I’m not goin’ down behind the mountain
I’m never gonna fade away
I’m burning like the midnight sun
Burning like the midnight sun
I’m not gonna sink into the ocean
Baby, I’m here to stay
I’m burning like the midnight sun
Burning like the midnight sun
I’m not goin’ down
I’m not a firefly flashing in the dark
I’m not a hot coal in the pit
Disintegrating
I’m not a whistling “Piccolo Pete”
Exploding in the street
More like a ruby-red star
Forever rising
I wanna swear it's true but it's hard to defend it
I know it comes from You and I don't comprehend it
Love never fails
Mercy will prevail
I wanna swear it's true but it's hard to defend it
In the chill of a cruel word
In the nest of a wounded bird
In the shadow of doubt
In the smoke
In the smoke of a torch blown out
I wanna swear it's true but it's hard to believe it
I know it comes from You so I want to receive it
Divine love never fails
Mercy will prevail
I wanna swear it's true but it's hard to believe it
In the thrust of a bayonet
In the hour of deep regret
In a world gone insane
In the eye
In the eye of a hurricane
In the chill of a cruel word
In the nest of a wounded bird
In the shadow of doubt
In the smoke
In the smoke of a torch blown out
In the flight of a sharp stone
In the rubble where children moan
In our own apathy
In the blood
An empty street in Ohio
Lookin' to kill some time
We stumbled into Cairo
Egypt must be divine
And the jukebox plays
While a little clown sways
Hey it's two songs for a dime
Mercy lives here
Oh mercy lives here
At home with the saints and the sinners
Mercy lives here
A girl in the corner is crying
The silver haired lady's alone
And the queen of the boulevard's trying
To hustle somebody home
The smokin' man shakes
While the broken girl aches
And the clown starts to sing his song
He sings mercy lives here
Oh Mercy lives here
At home with the saints and the sinners
Mercy lives here
Mercy, oh mercy
Mercy, oh mercy
And the clown at the bar
Laughs and lights a cigar
And we all start to sing along
And I don't see why
You're over there and I
I can't understand the words
You're saying to me
Slide a little bit closer
Now, show me the way you feel
About the cloud formations
Baby I love your mind
I love your mind
Baby I love your mind
And I want your touch
And if I pull over
So you can have a turn
Will you take us both into
Oblivion?
Do you really think the sun
Is gonna melt us, everyone
Do you blame the moon for
Hypertension?
I love your mind
I love your mind
Baby I love your mind
And I want your touch
Baby I love your mind
I love your mind
Baby I love your mind
And I need your kiss
And if I come closer
Honey hold on tight to the wheel
When you feel like
Driving us into a ditch
Baby I love your mind
Baby I love your mind
Honey I love your mind
And I want your touch
Baby I love your mind
I love your mind
Baby I love your mind
And I need your kiss
And I want your touch
You must be as much afraid
You say things you can't mean
I hide a dagger in my boot
To guard my fragile self-esteem
And Heaven knows the demons roar
When love falls down
Lions sing and angles mourn
When love falls down like rain
Falls down like rain
When love falls down
And taps against our window pane
When love falls down like rain
Once upon a sacred stone
We carved a holy vow
I'm still the boy I was before
But I need you more than ever now
Seraphs crawl and serpents dance
When love falls down
Jesus weeps and Satan laughs
When love falls down like rain
Falls down like rain
When love falls down
And taps against our window pane
When love falls down like rain
Falls down like rain
When love falls down
And drums against our tinted pane
When love falls down like rain
The Man of Sorrows recalls the crown of pain
When love comes crashing down, down, down
Like bitter rain
Falls down like rain
When love falls down
And taps against our window pane
When love falls down like rain
Falls down like rain
When love falls down
And drums against our tinted pane
When love falls down like rain
Falls down like rain
When love falls down
And taps against our window pane
When love falls down like rain
Like rain
Like rain
Ya know the guy in 215?
Yesterday they found him dead
A bucket in the hallway
Rainwater on his bed
It's never easy for a man to grow old
But when he's alone
Heaven knows the nights are cold
Look out for your own
Look out, God knows the nights are cold
Look out for your own
Look out for your own
Look out
Every child is ours to shelter
Hunger is a foe to fight
But look to your left, father
Mother, look to your right
Don't let your little ones cross the street alone
Tomorrow's playground is a danger-zone
Look out for your own
Look out, God knows the nights are cold
Look out for your own
Look out for your own
Look out
Half a million children hope to make it on their own
Your daddy's roof is leaking, is it too late to atone?
Guard the bond, fate does not apply
Yours is written in the sky
Lucky stars vanish with the night
See what shines by morning light
(There's your diamond)
If your love is more than words
Listen to her eyes
If your love is more than words
Listen to her eyes
Read her tears like pages
Hold her when she cries
If your love is more than words
Listen to her, listen to her eyes
Promises tumble in the breeze
Never mind apologies
When she shakes words are not enough
Wrap her spirit in your love
If your love is more than words
Listen to her eyes
If your love is more than words
Listen to her eyes
Read her tears like pages
Hold her when she cries
If your love is more than words
I wanna float you like a cloud
I wanna drink you like a flower drinks rain
I wanna lift you up to Heaven
Now, I can't get you
Off of the ground
When you wear such heavy shoes
But I'll keep trying
Because I really want to float you
Like a cloud
I wanna drink you like a flower drinks rain
I wanna lift you up to Heavenly places
And beg you to remain
I never mean to make you cry
I don't want to bring you down
When I'm descending
Hold on tightly
I always turn around
I wanna float you like a cloud
I wanna swallow you like flowers swallow rain
I wanna go with you to Heavenly places
Tell me how the sky is falling
Into what was once the sea
How the ground is crackin' up
To swallow you
To swallow me
Let the devils of a lost world
Raise their planet from the dea
Angel cover me with kisses
And I won't hide my head
No I won't hide my head
No no no
I won't mind
Should the sun refuse to shine
No no no
I won't crawl
Let the sky fall
See the preacher board the peace train
With a a hatchet in his hand
Isn't that one fraudulent
Ticket that you're holdin', man
Let the proud religious soldier
Guard the dream that he's been sold
Heaven fill my cup with mercy
I won't hide my gold
I won't hide my gold
No no no
I won't mind
should the sun refuse to shine
No no no
I won't crawl
Let the sky fall
Let the sky fall
When the clouds of sorrow hover
Everybody dreads the flood
In the garden of Gethsemane
the Lord Himself sweat blood
But the ending to that story
It was written from the start
Paint the winter night with true love
And I won't hide my heart
No I won't hide my heart
No no no
I won't mind
should the sun refuse to shine
No no no
I won't crawl
Let the sky fall
Let the sky fall
You know I really do dig your style
It's true
So I sincerely hope you will appreciate mine too
And it appeals to me how love is a mystery
Honey, turn the porch light on
High steppin' across your lawn
If you're thinkin' it's a leprechaun
Well, it's only me living free tonight
I never wish to alienate you by seeming obscene
For love of life and chlorophyll
My favorite light is green
And now I hope you're diggin' this way I dance a jig
Honey, turn the porch light on
High steppin' across your lawn
If you're thinking it's a leprechaun
Well it's only me livin' free tonight
Honey turn the porch light on
Honey turn the porch light on
If you're thinking it's a leprechaun
Thinking it's a leprechaun
It was a fine year

"A Rainy Night in Georgia" playin' on the radio
In the Hot Springs of Arkansas
Carey Marc
Saw the light and fought the law
He's divin' deep
Under the bridge
He's flyin' high
Over the edge of the moon
Look yonder, Carey Marc's a-comin'
Down from afar
How sweet that melody he's hummin'
Under the stars
Forever strummin' his maple black guitar
Old man Byrd
Old man Byrd
When he first came 'round the river bend
I saw lighting flashing in the heavens
Floating on a blue raft
Somehow mournful
The way that storm boy laughed
He's divin' deep
Under the bridge
He's flyin' high
Over the edge of the moon
Look yonder, Carey Marc's a-comin'
Down from afar
How sweet that melody he's hummin'
Under the stars
Forever strummin' his maple black guitar
Old man Byrd
Old man Byrd
He's go ink on his kin
"What is man?"
He thinks about the mysteries
nobody understands
He knows the sun will burn away
And he calls this the "delicate fade"
He's divin' deep
Under the bridge
He's flyin' high
Over the edge of the moon
Look yonder, Carey Marc's a-comin'
Down from afar
How sweet that melody he's hummin'
Under the stars
Forever strummin' his maple black guitar
Old man Byrd
You know I love you
I think you're so good
I like the people in my
Neighborhood
My mother is an engineer
My daddy is a healer
And everybody gathered here
Wheelers, dealers
Lovers, depravers
Freers, enslavers
Clowns, wicked sayers
Kissers and betrayers
Bones and ladder
Somehow rhyming
Man of Sorrows hanging
Iscariot swinging
A curious polarity
Finders, weepers
Why have you forsaken me?
Losers, keepers
Lovers, depravers
Freers, enslavers
Clowns, wicked sayers
Kissers and betrayers
Saviours, denyers
Prophets, implyers
Well wishers, liars
Killers, death defyers
Killers, death defyers
I light a candle
Well before dark
They tell me jesters hide out
In the park
I never was a cautious man
My brother is a broker
And everybody in the band
Jokers, fire-stokers
Lovers, depravers
Freers, enslavers
Clowns, wicked sayers
Kissers and betrayers
Saviours, denyers
Prophets, implyers
Well wishers, liars
Killers, death defyers
Walkin' down Kingston Road
In the little town of Leatherhead
Guess I'm on my own
Though I will never be alone
Not with you right by my side
In my heart and on my mind
Keeping me in line down Kingston Road
Walkin' down Kingston Road
Father, lead down this winding lane
Lift me up if I should fall
And start me out again
Ponder with me in you will
A tender thought or two
How I came from where I was
To walk this road with you
Walkin' down Kingston Road
In the little town of Leatherhead
Though I'm on my own
Oh's it's so wonderful to be in love with you
Only you can make me feel the way you do
There's no words that I can say
To tell you why I feel this way
It's so wonderful to be in love with you
I can't explain the way I feel
All I know is that it's real
You have filled this vacant spot within my life
I know this joy you've given me
It will last through eternity
All the pleasures that I need I get from you
Oh's it's so wonderful to be in love with you
Only you can make me feel the way you do
There's no words that I can say
To tell you why I fell this way
It's so wonderful to be in love with you
I won't deny
The love you've given me
Why you died is still a mystery
It's a mystery
Oh's it's so wonderful to be in love with you
Only you can make me feel the way you do
There's no words that I can say
To tell you why I fell this way
Well, my world used to be sunny
and jokes used to be funny,
but now you're gone
and everything's turned around.
Well, my world used to be warm
and there never was a storm,
but now you're gone and
everything's turned upside down.
And now it's cold outside
and the rain is pouring down
and the leaves are turning brown.
Can't you see
that now it's cold outside
and it's all because of you
'cause there's nothing I can do
Stars and stripes and bibles waving
They crushed the heart of original nations
The cross of Christ on fire a shameful
Misrepresentation
We've gotta look up to see the light
We've gotta look in to know what's right
Hey, we've gotta look inside
It should've been obvious
It should've been obvious
It should've been obvious
But it wasn't to them
And it isn't to us
Yeah, that was me
The self-appointed
Judge of your own orientation
I studied law at the blind man's school
Of cruel indoctrination
We've gotta look up to see the light
We've gotta look in to know what's right
Hey, we've gotta look inside
It should've been obvious
It should've been obvious
It should've been obvious
But it wasn't to them
And it isn't to us
We can load our guns, close our minds
Take the bad medicine makin' us blind
But love is the blue star burnin' in the dark
Mercy is the silver pearl buried in our hearts
We've gotta look up to see the light
We've gotta look in to know what's right
Hey, we've gotta look inside
It should've been obvious
It should've been obvious
It should've been obvious
But it wasn't to them
A thunderous sound
An ominous sight
We stood by the edge of the road that night
A menacing shadow
A distant roar
The pounding hooves of unseeable horses
Unseeable
Invisible teams of phantom forces
Racing though my dreams
Invisible forces chasing me
Come Father, Son, Holy Ghost
Defend me from this demon host
Invisible teams of phantom forces
Invisible
Enticing voices
Alluring dark
"Miraculous Joy Elixir" jar
With wobbly knees
And blurry vision
I've already made the wrong decision
The wrong decision
Invisible teams of phantom forces
Racing though my dreams
Invisible forces chasing me
Come Father, Son, Holy Ghost
Defend me from this demon host
Invisible teams of phantom forces
Invisible
I'm not gonna say
It's Lucifer's fault
The sinister angel destined to fall
That makes no sense at all
Invisible teams of phantom forces
Racing though my dreams
Invisible forces chasing me
Come Father, Son, Holy Ghost
Defend me from this demon host
Invisible teams of phantom forces
When the Father formed man
From the earth with His hands
He breathed into my soul
When He made the woman
Too well for anybody's own good
He had to know how
How they wouldn't heed His advice
So they had to leave paradise
Driven away from that garden long ago
Has the sign of covenant
Dimmed in your sky?
Will we ever find gold?
Follow all seven stripes across my eyes
Am I young or old?
It is reward enough to survive
Men less fortunate have been skinned alive
I'd rather be forgiven than enlightened
Grace is a gift even more refined than magic dust
Mercy a quality more divine than trust
If you're listening to me now
If you're listening to me now
I wouldn't blame you anyhow
For runnin' me out of town
I have not suffered nearly enough
For the crime that I've done
I hear laughter above
I have angels who love me
I'm a lucky one
For the sins that I've committed
Against trusting friends I've outwitted
I might've been staring into the barrel of a gun
Grace is an offering more refined than magic dust
Mercy a quality more diving even than trust
If you're listening to me now
If you're listening to me now
I wouldn't blame you anyhow
For running me out of town
Grace is a gift even more refined than magic dust
Mercy a quality more divine than trust
If you're listening to this song
If you're listening to this song
I hope you find it in your heart
I hope you find it in your heart to forgive
I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me
If I had a yard
I would play in it
We could play in it
If we had a yard....
On a sunny day
I would play croquet
In the early spring
You could grow green things
(and purple flowers)
Should the children frown
We would hose them down
If I had a yard
I would play in it
We could play in it
If we had a yard....
Sleep outside at night
When the moon is bright
Watch the laundry wave
Dig the dog a grave
(in the garden?)
Drink the acid rain
'Till we go insane
If I had a yard
I would play in it
We could play in it
If we had a yard
If you had a yard
What kind of friend would be so cold
Amused as tragedy unfolds
That stage was 4 feet high
Wouldn't blame you if you cried
Your '63 Selmer bent to hell
I'm sorry
I laughed when you fell
I'm sorry
I laughed when you fell
So hard
Profoundly dark psychology
Humorous because it was not me
Everybody sure will fall
Shouldn't be surprised at all
To hear me scream
Careening down some well
I'm sorry
I laughed when you fell
I'm sorry
I laughed when you fell
I painted mercy
Show Me your pain
I painted diamonds
Don't fear the rain
I painted mercy
Show Me your pain
I painted diamonds
Don't fear the rain
When I chose this color
To paint the winter sky
I wanted to inspire you
It hurts Me when you cry
Perhaps you didn't notice
The lantern in the tree
I tried to show you Heaven
It isn't hard to see
I painted mercy
Show Me your pain
I painted diamonds
Don't fear the rain
Those are not tears falling
They're sparkling gems above
Like stars, they shine in blackness
Reflections of My love
In case you did not notice
The lantern on that tree
Remember my son Jesus
Because he makes men see
I painted mercy
Show Me your pain
I painted diamonds
Sorry
I called to tell you that I'm sorry
To have such fun and leave you all alone
Tomorrow
I'm gonna paint the hallway tomorrow
Say it won't be too late to atone
Before old man winter comes to chill your bones
I'm gonna build a fire and heat up some stones
Put 'em under your sheets
I really want to keep your cold feet warm
I don't mean any harm
I don't mean any harm
I don't mean any harm to you...
So sad
To find you crying
So sad to be the one to make you feel so blue
Tonight
I sure will kiss you so nice tonight
I sure will hold you tight and care for you
Before Old Man Winter comes to chill your bones
I'm gonna build a fire to heat up some stones
Put 'em under your sheets
I really want to keep your cold feet warm
I don't mean any harm...
You know the way I feel in my heart...
For you
You know the love I feel in my heart...
Take your money throw it all away
And wonder how you have another day
You live in luxury you can't afford
While those around you suffer more and more
Well, I just can't take it anymore
Look at all this sadness
I just can't fake it anymore
My eyes are open wide
There's little children starving everywhere
But yet it seems to me you just don't care
Sometimes I wonder how you fail to see
That this is our responsibility
I just can't take it anymore
Look at all this sadness
I just can't fake it anymore
When I see you falling
When I hear you crying
When I feel you fading away
How I wish I knew what to say
When I see you falling
When I hear you crying
When I feel you fading away
How I wish I knew what to pray
Like a flower refusing to bloom
When the sun hides for awhile
It's a cruel thing you're doing
Depriving the world of your smile
When your heart defies you
When the dark mystifies you
When the stars shine down from above
How I hope their light is enough
And I hope you know you are loved
Like a flower refusing to bloom
When the sun hides away
It's a cruel thing you're doing
Running from the shadow of a lonely man
Trying too hard to live my life the best I can
Know I can't start to make it on my own
Living in this darkened place I call my home
Here in the night
Where I live my life
Here in the night
Where I try to hide
Living in shadowland
Here in the night
I'm such a lonely man
Running from the images I try to hide
Living in this darkened place I live my life
Looking out through windows to a brighter day
Even though I want to leave I have to stay
Here in the night
Where I life my life
Here in the night
Where I try to hide
Living in shadowland
Here in the night
I'm such a lonely man
Running from the images I try to hide
Trying too hard to live my life the best I can
Looking out through windows to a brighter day
Even though I want to leave I have to stay
Here in the night
Where I life my life
Here in the night
Where I try to hide
Living in shadowland
Here in the night
Wise people sing out loud
"Beware the killer cloud
The air we breathe!"
Why should we cry along?
I know a happy song
So sing with me
Happy fool reasons have I
Happy fool notions have you
I say the sky is as blue as the ocean
You say you know it's true
Some hear the drumming rain
They fear a hurricane
Why should we run?
Let's fix the roof instead
Wear helmets on our heads
Till kingdom come
Happy fool reasons have I
Happy fool notions have you
I say the sky is as blue as the ocean
You say you know it's true
So tie your shoelaces
To my shoelaces
I'll tie a rope to a tree
We'll see how the wind whips
Happy fool faces
Come blow away with me
I'd tremble, truth be told
Should someone dear grow cold
I'd pray for fire
So stay with me tonight
We'll dance 'til morning light
Love is no liar
Happy fool reasons have I
Happy fool notions have you
I say the sky is as blue as the ocean
You say you know it's true
So tie your shoelaces
To my shoelaces
I'll tie a rope to a tree
We'll see how the wind whips
Happy fool faces
No, I'm not sure
Where we're going
I can't even tell you
Where we are
Some things are not
For the knowing
The way your eyes
fade like the stars
High time we go (some other place)
The transformation (in Spirit and space)
Follow me
Tie the mule to the wagon
Follow me
Bring the children and come on
Through the wildnerness
Follow me
'Cause I'm already
Swinging my machete
Prepare your soul
The woods begin here
Yes, we've been through
This brush before
Embrace the dawn
Of adventure
Bid fond farewell
Pacific shore
High time we go
A relocation (of Spirit and space)
Follow me
Tie the mule to the wagon
Follow me
Bring the children and come on
Through the wilderness
Follow me
Cause I'm already
Comes a time on the journey
You wonder how you will survive
Comes a time when you're thirsty and so alone
You think you might die
There is a pool in the desert
Where water flows from fountains unseen
Saving water, healing water
Flowing over me
Came a white dove descending
The day my Savior was baptized
Down came the fire still burning within me
Love sanctifies
When you find yourself lying
In a ditch on the side of the road
You might get ready
You might get ready to die
When the sun comes up over the mountain
Flap your wings and fly
Take to the heavens
To the sky
Take to the heavens
When the healer of your heart
Touches your soul with holy hands
You sure should rise up
You sure should rise from the dead
When the sun shines through the branches
Lift your head
Take to the heavens
To the sky
Take to the heavens
We brandish plastic swords
More of a game than a war
Nobody's keepin' score
When I swing left, you swing right
We hear the echo of hyenas laughing in the night
Laughing in the night
Such a fine fun time
We share when we're together
It's a fine fun thing
To carry on and on
Such a good great gift
All the years we've weathered
It's a fine thing to carry on and on
Our children are learning well
Askin' 'bout heaven and hell
Only time will tell
And time will prove what I know is true
Husker Du is the most influential rock n' roll group
Influential rock n' roll group
I dream in living color
But I see in shades of gray
At the dawn of understanding
Praying for the full of day
And when the San Onofre sun goes down
On concrete power domes
I may shudder for a moment
But this world is not my home
I'm not afraid of the thunder in the sky
All I fear is the lighting in your eyes
For I love only you
And I fear only you
When the reverend waves his sword and cries
"Go save the golden dream"
From the terrace of his mansion
He won't hear the children scream
No, I will not fight the war he wages
Flesh and blood won't conquer me
But the demons know my enemy
Is my idolatry
I'm not afraid of the thunder in the sky
All I fear is the lighting in Your eyes
I'm not afraid of the rulers in this land
All I fear is the power in Your hand
For I love only you
And I fear only you
For I love only you
Everybody in the band appreciates Marc
Everybody in the band appreciates Marc
In tears for man's condition
He drives the van all night
Even when the mix is bad
He says it sounds alright
And everybody in the band appreciates Marc
And everybody in the band appreciated Leo
'Cause everybody loved us
When Leo ran the show
He hugged a few promoters
So sad to see him go
And everybody in the band appreciated Leo
If I could touch with my fumbling hands your scars
If I could know in my rebel mind your heart
If I could see with my lusting eyes your face
If I could taste on my withered tongue sweet grace
Would I trust You near enough
Would I trust You near enough
Would I trust You near enough
Enough to die
Enough to love
If I could hear with two muffled ears your voice
If could find in my troubled life true joy
If I could feel with numb fingers your spirit
If I could drink for my barren soul your tears
Would I trust You near enough
Would I trust You near enough
Enough to die
Enough to die
Enough to love
If I could touch with my trembling hands your scars
Would I trust You near enough
Would I trust You near enough
Would I trust You near enough
Enough to die
Enough to live
The blood remains as red
That colors our spirits white
The blood remains as warm
That paints black skies with fire
The word remains as high
That commands the snake to crawl
The promise ever true
That shatters the venom vile
But clouds are round about you
Clouds are round about you
Clouds are round about you
Shadows veil your eyes
The love remains as pure
That poisoned seas will ne'er dilute
The love remains a flame
That many waters can not quench
But clouds are round about you
Clouds are round about you
Clouds are round about you
Shadows veil your eyes
The ghost is ever bruised
Who defends me when I fall
The ghost is ever sure
Who holds tight for precious life
The blood remains as rich
That poor sinners drink like wine
The blood remains as warm
That paints black skies with fire
And clouds are round about you
Clouds are round about you
Clouds are round about you
Shadows veil your eyes
Clouds are round about you
Clouds are round about you
Shadows veil your eyes
Shadows veil your eyes
Shadows veil your eyes
(Clouds are round about you)
Imagine one perfect circle
Above the stratosphere
Where lovers hide away
And children cheer
Because the ground has melted
Where the devil stood
Never mind the carnival
In your own neighborhood
CHORUS
Come on let's ride
The circle slide
Come on let's ride, ride
The circle slide
Around my neck against my heart
I wear a wooden cross
And sometimes I remember
What freedom cost
Shake off your golden shackles
Children of time no more
Consider now the crimson crown
The Man of Sorrows wore
CHORUS
I know it's hard to imagine
When someone makes you cry
Fire in the heavens
And laughter in the sky
Just let the wind blow through your spirit
Let the sun shine on your face
Let's look into each other's eyes
And sing Amazing Grace
Columbus sailed across the sea
To trouble our theology
What goes up still comes down
But where is Heaven if the world is round?
The cosmonauts were first in space
To look for God and find no trace
With a killer cloud or reason for rhyme
The devil enlightens the children of time
The children of time
The children of time
When boys and girls love what they feel
They "lick the earth" and swear it's real
With a silver syringe before bells chime
The devil entices the children of time
The children of time
With a fast injection
For the children
Beware proud creatures of the night
Who close eternal windows tight
With a triple cheer at the scene of the crime
The devil endorses the children of time
The children of time
The children of time
The devil enlightens the children of time
The devil entices the children of time
The devil endorses the children of time
Father have merciful eyes for the children
The children of time
The children of time
The children of time
The children of time
The children of time
She makes a lot of trouble, yeah
When things to go the way she plans
Discusses problems in theology
Nobody understands
She makes noise
She breaks toys
She fills my heart with joy
Cherry bomb, cherry bomb
With a face just like a cherub
She's a bomb, yeah
She makes her presence known
Cherry bomb, cherry bomb
With a face just like a cherub
She's sweet as anything I know
She never takes things lightly, no
Her little heart explodes sometimes
I hold her tightly in my harms
She really blows her Daddy's mind
She thrills me
She kills me
She spills grape juice on me
Cherry bomb...
She thrills me
She kills me
She makes noise
She brakes toys
She fills my heart with joy
see what sparkles in our world
never mind the stars
mercy is the silver pearl
vengeance is not ours
golden thistles bright enough
to render greedy nations blind
but Jesus buried diamonds in
a land where love is rare to find
shovel go deep
heart be true
chase the kangaroo
proud men build holy shrines
wise men wonder
Bugs Bunny dug to China
i guess i'll go down under
choir choir world on fire
grace and circumstances dire
hydrants fail and flames surround
time for going underground
you may find me in a trench
racing from the falling sky
if Sydney is my sanctuary
guess i'll dig until i die
shovel go deep
heart be true
chase the kangaroo
stagger through and curse the dark
or light the midnight oil?
a land of milk and honey lies
beneath this northern soil
shovel go deep
heart be true
(Better be getting my good side)
It's not a blue van that I drive
Coast to coast and still alive
People cheer when I arrive
It's not a blue van that I drive
It's not a cold room where I sleep
Ten feet wide, eleven feet deep
Pray the Lord my soul to keep
It's not a cold room where I sleep
It's not a bright wig on his head
A little devil, one man has said
Just because his hair is red
It's not a bright wig on his head
It's not a lost world where I play
Spins around once every day
Children wonder and wise men sway
It's not a lost world where I play
It's not a black heart where I feel
Wicked schemes I may conceal
Washed in blood each time I kneel
Wicked words embrace the darkness
For reasons too cruel
They hide in the throats of cowards who wait
In the shadows with knives for fools
Angry words lie still on the script
And wait for their scene
They leap from the lips of lovers' betrayal
Too bitter to blame on caffeine
Love waved a white flag
Fear ran her through
What could I do?
I washed my robe in the river
I washed my hands in the rain
I washed my robe in the river
I cursed the crime and the stain
Wicked words embrace the darkness
For reasons too cruel
They hide in the throats of cowards who wait
In the shadows with knives for fools
Angry words lie still on the script
And wait for their scene
They leap from the lips of lovers' betrayal
Too bitter to blame on caffeine
Love waved a white flag
Fear ran her through
What could I do?
I washed my robe in the river
I washed my hands in the rain
I washed my robe in the river
I cursed the crime and the stain
I washed my robe in the river
I washed my hands in the rain
I washed my robe in the river
I cursed the crime and the stain
Love waved a white flag
Fear raised a gun
What have I done?
I washed my robe in the river
I washed my hands in the rain
I washed my robe in the river
You are precious more than I could express
Melodies and words are poor at best
You are a gift to me
A treasure from Heaven
You were created to fly
To decorate the blue sky
Show the world your colorful wings my butterfly
Little one, are you frightened of the sky?
It's alright, sometimes even daddies have to cry
Give your heart to the wind
I know you're gonna make it
You were created to fly
To decorate the blue sky
Show the world your colorful wings my butterfly
Now I long to show how truly I love you
When you are at home and I am away
The father above is near enough to hold you
Remember me, love, tonight when you pray
You were created to fly
To decorate the blue sky
Show the world your colorful wings my butterfly
I've got a cause I should surely defend
I hope you will agree
I've got a tire I would love to suspend
I'm searching for a tree
And I'm running down the street
But I haven't found my feet
CHORUS
If I close my eyes
Will I see blue skies
If I close my eyes
Will I find you
Will I find you
I told the truth and it saved one girl's life
And then a blind man screamed
One sister saw me go under the knife
I'm glad it was a dream
And the night is nearly done
So I'm praying for the sun
CHORUS
I've got a cause I should surely defend
Most of my friends agree
I've got a tire I would love to suspend
I think I've found a tree
But sometimes I don't see you
And I wonder what to do
Suspended from the Heavens
Sheltered by Your hand
Riding on a black cloud
I tremble for my brothers
With houses in the sand
Riding on a black cloud
The thunder makes me shiver
But You give peace of mind
While some are deaf to winter
Or blinded by red wine
Riding on a black cloud...
I would not be found laughing
At tales of love and death
Riding on a black cloud
Or fatal inclinations
To savor mortal breath
Riding on a black cloud
For some are tales of sorrow
And some of hope and fear
Dear God have eyes of mercy
Your spirit I revere
I'm gonna bring a smile to your face
Ten thousand ways
Yes and I will embrace
New seasons
And if tomorrow the sky is gray
Well that's okay
Even the flowers fade
For good reason
This planet turns so fast
Everything burns
Ashes to ash
But for now you are mine
And I feel so alive
Rivers of love and peace
Flowing over you and me
Slivers of silver-blue between bare trees
That old kitty is a source of stress
I must confess
I'm gonna cry nonetheless
Yes I will
If the veterinarian says
It's for the best
I'll find her a place to rest
On the hill
This planet turns so fast
Everything burns
Ashes to ash
But for now you are mine
And I feel so alive
Rivers of love and peace
Flowing over you and me
Slivers of silver-blue between bare trees
Rivers of light and truth
Flowing over me and you
Why are you still crying?
Your pain is now through
Please forget those teardrops
Let me take them from you
The love you are blessed with
Is worth waiting for
So let out your heart
Please, please
From behind that locked door
It's time we start smiling
What else should we do
If only this short time
I'm gonna be here with you
And the tales you have taught me
From the things that you saw
Makes me want out your heart
Please, please
From behind that locked door
And if ever my love goes
If I'm rich or I'm poor
Please, let out my heart
Please, please
From behind that locked door
From behind that locked door
Go on up to the mountain of mercy
To the crimson perpetual tide
Kneel down on the shore
Be thirsty no more
Go under and be purified
Follow Christ to the holy mountain
Sinner, sorry and wrecked by the fall
Cleanse your heart and your soul
In the fountain that flows
For you and for me and for all
At the wonderful tragic mysterious tree
On that beautiful scandalous night you and me
Were atoned by His blood and forever washed white
On that beautiful scandalous night
On the hillside you will be delivered
At the foot of the cross justified
And your spirit restored
By the river that pours
From our blessed Savior's side
At the wonderful tragic mysterious tree...
Go on up to the mountain of mercy
To the crimson perpetual tide
Kneel down on the shore be thirsty no more
Go under and be purified
At the wonderful tragic mysterious tree
On that beautiful scandalous night you and me
Were atoned by his blood and forever washed white
On that beautiful scandalous night...
Amazing how slugs know
More about the weather
Lovers drown as slow
So stay with me forever
And I will never suspect the sky
Creatures climb the window pane
To avoid the coming rain
Is it hard to be so sane
When love is crazy?
Go on, drag me through the dirt
Come on, kiss me where it hurts
Love for better, love for worse
Is so amazing
Amazing how they crawl
Up without confusion
Lovers fear the fall
Heaven's retribution
But I only know the demons revel in our madness
Creatures climb the window pane
To avoid the coming rain
Is it hard to be so sane
When love is crazy
Go on, drag me through the dirt
Come on, kiss me where it hurts
Love for better, love for worse
Is so amazing
Amazing how slugs know
More about the weather
Lovers drown as slow
But stay with me forever
Cause I don't see any clouds tonight
And I will never suspect the sky of cruel intentions
Creatures climb the window pane
To avoid the coming rain
Is it hard to be so sane
When love is crazy?
Go on, drag me through the dirt
Come on, kiss me where it hurts
Love for better, love for worse
Is so amazing
I hold in my hands
Promises I've just begun to understand
Fragments of light
Precious more than gold
Revealed in black and white
But your ways are hidden in the clouds
Your face is hidden from the night
I only want to know all that is true
I only want to know all that is You
The sound of Your voice
Echoes from the deepest chamber of my soul
I call out Your name
And in my heart I feel the wind begin to blow
But Your face is hidden in the clouds
Your fire is buried in my ghost
I only want to know all that is true
I only want to know all that is You...
Your face is hidden in the clouds
Your fire is buried in my soul
I only want to know all that is true
There's a fire inside my heart
It's enough to light the way
But the sky is black above me
And I see in shades of gray
I hear voices in the shadows
And I wonder what is true
I hear laughing, I hear crying
And sometimes I know it's you
All night long
I've been looking out my window
All night long
I've been hoping to see you
All night long
I've been praying for the morning
I've been looking out my window all night long
When I finally see the Son
Will I know You as my friend?
If I fail to see you now
Will I recognize you then?
I see faces in the shadows
And I wonder what to do
I se dancing I see dying
And sometimes I know it's you
All night long
I've been looking out my window
All night long
I've been hoping to see you
All night long
I've been praying for the morning
The taste of your sweet breath
The salt of morning tears
Again I say good-bye to you
Hold on tight
So good to hurt so bad
So sad to ride away renewed
Go on laugh
Go on cry
It's alright
There's something wonderful about love
There's something wonderful about love
There's something lost about me with you
There's something blind about the chosen few
There's something wonderful about love
Was I meant to be yours
The will of Christ above
Do you believe true love is blind
'Cause I don't know
When I get home come spring
Won't you be glad to be mine
Just don't laugh
Please don't cry
Just say so
There's something wonderful about love
There's something wonderful about love
There's something dark about destiny
There's something blue about you with me
There's something wonderful about love
Sorry to call so late
The planet turned 4 times
You're on my mind but you're nowhere
In my world
Please kiss the little bird
God bless the cozy cage we share
You kill me
You thrill me
You threaten my dreams, girl
There's something wonderful about love
There's something wonderful about
There's something liberating death alone brings
There's something funny about a lot of sad things
Children tremble
Flowers fade so sadly
Love is strange to understand
Winter Winds blow
Does the truth sting badly
Let your tears fall into my hands
Let your tears fall into my hands
Listen closely
And I will sing for you
A sentimental song
And you will know just how I feel
Listen closely
I will sing for you
A sentimental song
Hide with me tonight
Love endures the weather
Let the rain make everything new
In the morning
We will dance together
Let my song fall down around you
Let my song fall down around you
Listen closely
And I will sing for you
A sentimental son
And you will know just how I feel
(In my heart)
Listen closely
I will sing for you
A sentimental song
And you will know my love is real
Listen closely
I will sing for you
A sentimental son
And you will know my heart is true
Listen closely
I will sing for you
A sentimental song
Your eyes shone on that night
They were diamonds
Under the ocean's moonlight
They were diamonds
It was only a moment
It was only a moment
It was only a moment
In time
You were laughing, I was falling hard
It was over
Then the light of morning hid the stars
And it was over
It was only a moment...
In time
I remember it well
The night I fell so deeply into your eyes
And I wondered if you would feel for me
The way I felt for you
It was only a moment...
Looking forward to the day
When the pain will go away
And this hurting will have ended
Looking forward to the time
When I leave this world behind
And eternity begins
A resting place inside Your arms
A resting plac eI'll find
And then I'll stay
A million years to be with You
A million years and more
Well it won't be long at all
'Til at last I hear Your call
And the darkenss will be ended
When the Heavens open wide
And You call me to Your side
Then a new life will begin
A resting place inside Your arms
A resting place I'll find
And then I'll stay
A million years to be with You
Sometimes you've gotta laugh
Even when it hurts
Better still with somebody brushing off the dirt
Who knows we're all ridiculous
Yet somehow sublime
He celebrate the journey
And tells you to climb
He tells you to climb
There is no mountain of virtue
Higher to ascend
No quality
More divine
Than to be a friend
Ah to be a friend
So kind
When you feel ashamed
And ugly inside
You need someone who cares
With whom you dare confide
To stare into your dark soul
To see hop and light
And tell you, "You're glorious
I know you'll be all right
You're beautiful, I love you
I know you'll be all right"
There is no mountain of virtue
Higher to ascend
No quality
More divine
Than to be a friend
Ah to be a friend
So kind
So now you've gone away
In a sudden gust of wind
And we're sadder than hell
'Cause we miss you, dear friend
Still it's good to know your great heart
Is glad and restored
Forever smokin' find cigars and the table of the Lord
At the table of the Lord
There is no mountain of virtue
Higher to ascend
No quality
More divine
Than to be a friend
Ah to be a friend
Lately I've been thinkin' About how it used to be When life was full of promise And love was fantasy They tell me that the hurt will fade But it just won't go away I tried so hard to see the sun But everything is gray
All my dreams are falling down
There was a time I trusted you To help me bear the pain But I look out my window now And all I see is rain If only I could turn back time To my dreams of yesterday If only I could stay a child And trust in you that way
I saw somebody in the window A light on in the hall Could I step inside for one moment And give my wife a telephone call? So sorry to alarm you I'm not gonna harm you Don't call the night patrol Just look at me shaking in the cold
I've been knocking on 15 doors
When you come in the morning And say "how do you do" Will you stand and stare in wonder Cause I do't remember you? I'll say, "Once I was a stranger Once I was in need, But you hid behind the door And left me shaking on your front porch"
Embrace the mystery Unlearn, unknow Pray for serenity You're not in control
Go higher go deeper Surrender, let go The laughter of heaven Echoes in your soul
The crow, the fox, the flower God knows each one How dare the wolf devour Beloved sons Walk in humility We all fall down Love is infinity Right here, right now
Go higher go deeper Surrender, let go The laughter of heaven Echoes in your soul
Body, heart and mind Transformation in a new world of time Inspiration, water, fire and wind Revelation from without and within Revelation, inspiration, transformation
You are so melodious That's what I called to tell you We are so harmonious Playin' together so well You are so melodious That's a good thing about you We are so harmonious Makin' some music now
Sometimes you bend the strings Out of tune but I Like that tension Reflecting reality
You are so miraculous Hummingbird wings for fingers We are so illustrious How come we never win? You are so industrious Never too old for college We are so ridiculous Rowing above the falls
Wild nights I was a fool Lucky how you loved Me too much to Throw me into the pool Dark days, regretful words Threaten joy but the bear Of a true friend's heart is The loudest sound ever heard
Comes a time for tears in the dark
No need to fake it
Yesterday her eyes were shining stars
I know she'll make it
She's alright
She's alright now
Flyin' over mountains
Comin' through the clouds
She's alright
Like an eagle in the wind
I know she's gonna make it through
'Cause she's got true blue friends
Even when the rain is falling hard
She will find cover
Even though she aches to the heart
She knows we love her
I wanna hear the ocean with your ears Taste the salt of my own tears on your face I wanna dream the dreams in your head When we wake up and we're not dead It's a good day Ah, it's a fine day
I'm takin' the universe in, I'm takin' it all in Discoverin' a parallel world of experiences I'm takin' the universe in through your senses
I wanna feel the raindrops on your skin Smell the lavender right into your nose I wanna run with you feet across the lawn Turn your sprinkler on Baby, come close I wanna get closer
I'm takin' the universe in, I'm takin' it all in Discoverin' a parallel world of experiences I'm takin' the universe in through your senses
I want to ride the train that keeps rumbling your floor I want to feel the draft that seeps under our door I want to be there for your hereafter and your here before
To kiss the honey on your tongue See the glorious morning sun through your eys I wanna share the hope in your heart Dance with the skeletons in the dark of your mind Baby, I love your mind
Screamin' at the newsman Tellin' him to take it back I'll sue him if he won't retract Cryin' to the hangman Beggin' him to render slack If I could I would go back
Will you extend me Will you extend me grace? Just a little grace Will you extend me Will you extend me grace? Just a little grace
Were you talkin' to the shrubbery? Did you cut the roses down? Someone oughta till that ground You thought I had a pure heart, well I thought you were an angel, girl Mercy is the silver pearl
Will you extend me Will you extend me grace? Just a little grace...
My mother deems me ever dear I'm less a liar than sincere
When you cut me in the alley-way You don't have to turn that knife I'll suffer in the afterlife Prayin' to the Father Sorry, did I grieve the Ghost? You're the one I love the most
Will you extend me Will you extend me grace? Just a little grace...
She touches grief with her kiss
She saves me so, she saves me so
She brushes true love with thistle
Her garden grows, her garden grows
Oh, she grips my heart
Anytime she smiles
Anytime she cries
She grips, she grips my heart
She wrings it out in her hands
She makes me moan, she makes me moan
She mingles madness with goodness
When we're alone, when we're alone
Oh, she grips my heart
Anytime she smiles
Anytime she cries
She grips, she grips my heart
Anytime she laughs
Anytime she sighs
She grips my heart
She grips, she grips my heart
She grips my heart
She strangles it...
She strangles joy with her eyes
She kills me so, she kills me so
She tangles misery with flowers
Her garden grows, her garden grows
Oh, she grips my heart
Anytime she smiles
Anytime she cries
She grips, she grips my heart
Anytime she laughs
Anytime she sighs
More is hidden than revealed Sometimes the path to understanding is concealed It hurts to be alive, your pain is real Go on laugh until you cry, it's good to feel
The sun will shine The sun will shine on you The sun will shine The sun will shine on you
I believe the sun will shine on you and me, my friend I have learned trust the turning of the seasons Even now the sun is breaking through the clouds again But I still don't know the causes or the reasons
Take it one step at a time We cannot see beyond the woods but that's all right I hear voices in shadows of the night Keep on following the river to the light
The sun will shine The sun will shine on you The sun will shine The sun will shine on you
I believe the sun will shine on you and me, my friend I have learned trust the turning of the seasons Even now the sun is breaking through the clouds again But I still don't know the causes or the reasons And I still can't see the forest for the trees
Don't be afraid, don't hide in the dark Climb the mountain, hear the meadowlark Wait for the sun
All bright things have shadow sides Gilded kingdoms are illusion To be forgiven is to know divine love Proud religion is delusion
I'm a world away from enlightened More than a stone's throw from the truth I'm a sad, far cry from a man who never lies But I'll hold the lantern high for you I'll hold the lantern high for you
I have stumbled down dark streets Too drunk to know the dangerously Too blind to tell a demon from an angel Or a lover from a stranger
I'm a world away from enlightened More than a stone's throw from the truth I'm a sad, far cry from a man who never lies But I'll hold the lantern high for you I'll hold the lantern high for you
Scratching at the ocean floor No hop to fix your eyes on Then suddenly you're breathing under water Behold the luminous horizon
I'm gonna separate The green glass from the clear And try to be more responsible So glad to be here Forty thousand Indonesians Fathers, mothers, children died When Krakatoa blew sky high
I'm living to love in a dying world I'm learning to fly I'm living to love in a dying world I'm learning to fly
Time will evaporate The tears of yesteryear As they tumble to the sea And rise to the stratosphere Make that phone call, write that letter Live today to make amends Yes, I know I've hurt you, dear friend
I'm living to love in a dying world I'm learning to fly I'm living to love in a dying world I'm learning to fly
Everybody suffers Is it enough to cry When ashes fall on the innocent? Spirit of God, love within Free my soul to ride the wind (But how is mercy reconciled With the pain of a wounded child?)
There's a choir behind me
Egging me on
Placing their bets and hoping I'll do no wrong
I'll do no wrong
There's a guy inside me
Biding his time
Standing in line and waiting for me to fall
For me to fall
Self-preservation threatens us all
Health deterioration comes to us all
There's a fag beside me
Waiting to be lit, trying to trick me
And make me forget I've quit
I forget I've quit
I take a risk everyday when I get up
Do I try harder?
Or continue to fuck up
Fuck up
There's a bear in my bed
Wanting to be loved
Eyes like marbles
All he needs is a hug
My beginners luck is wearing thin
I'll need to rely on skill if I'm going to win
Days of despair
Throbbing nerves and rotting lives
Forging futures into my body
Tearing away at my life
At the bottom we stare
Looking up to someones nothing
Screaming words bludgeoned by sympathy
Trying to be someone's something
The fears I hold
I've held so long
How does it feel?
