"Tuesday Afternoon" (sometimes referred to as "Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?)", or simply "Forever Afternoon") is a 1968 single by English symphonic rock band The Moody Blues, and presented in its original album form on their 1967 album Days of Future Passed in two parts.
The first part, the one most familiar to listeners, called "Tuesday Afternoon", was originally released on The Moody Blues 1967 album Days of Future Passed, a concept album chronicling a typical day. On the album, it was part one of "The Afternoon" track titled "Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?)".
Justin Hayward wrote the song originally intending to name it "Tuesday Afternoon". At the insistence of producer Tony Clarke, it was named "Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?)" for its release on Days of Future Passed. However, when it was released as a single a year later, its name was changed back to "Tuesday Afternoon", and it has been more commonly known by this name ever since. Some of the Moody Blues compilation and live albums list the song as "Tuesday Afternoon (Forever Afternoon)" to reflect both titles.
Jennifer Brown (born February 18, 1972) is a Swedish singer. She was born in Hjällbo, northeast of Gothenburg.
When she moved to Stockholm in the 1990s, she started working as a phone receptionist for influential Swedish record label Telegram records and this eventually led to a record deal. Brown’s 1994 album Giving You The Best peaked at no 1 in the Swedish charts and stayed in the chart for 22 weeks. Her two follow up albums did not sell as well as her debut album, but did quite well in their own right with In My Garden (1997) peaking at no 9 and Vera (1998), peaking at no 8. She has recorded mainly as a solo artist, but also as part of the soul/jazz/pop crew Blacknuss. The single "Tuesday Afternoon" was a hit single in Scandinavia, and reached #57 in the UK Singles Chart.
Outside Scandinavia her work is perhaps best known, through the highly successful cover of her song Alive by trance artist Paul van Dyk, which was renamed We Are Alive and became a top 20 hit across Europe in 2000.
After recording four albums she traveled to the United States and spent a lot of time in New York and San Francisco, plus traveled to India. She met the father to her daughter during the film Förortsungar - Kidz in da Hood. He later left her in the middle of the pregnancy.
Justin Hayward (born 14 October 1946, Swindon, Wiltshire, England) is an English musician, best known as singer, songwriter and guitarist in the rock band The Moody Blues.
Hayward was born in Dean Street, Swindon, Wiltshire, England and he was educated at Shrivenham School, Berkshire and The Commonweal School, in Swindon, Wiltshire.
When Hayward was 15 he was able to afford a Gibson guitar and a Vox amplifier through performing with local Swindon groups in clubs and dance halls playing mostly Buddy Holly songs. One of Hayward's early groups was All Things Bright, which opened for The Hollies and Brian Poole and the Tremeloes. At age 17, he signed a publishing contract as a songwriter with the skiffle artist and record producer Lonnie Donegan, a move Hayward later regretted as it meant the rights to all his songs written before 1974 would always be owned by Donegan's Tyler Music. In 1965 he answered an advertisement in Melody Maker and auditioned as guitarist for Marty Wilde and he went on to work with Wilde and his wife in The Wilde Three.
Josie was one of those easy girls who had wide eyes,
and she was drawn in by the incense at the Mission Room Bar.
You know, once she got in, the boys attacked her like a movie star.
As soon as she got nervous she was drinkin' and smokin',
like a lover caught chokin' on another man's bone.
But clicking her heels wouldn't get her home,
she called me laughin' from a pay-phone.
CHORUS
On this Tuesday afternoon,
Josie got caught in the Mission Room
Where the men are crazy and the women are too,
before you know it's Wednesday
In the afternoon, in the afternoon
Just before 2:15 in the morning,
Josie was doing the Hustle with a ruffneck named James.
And they were bumpin' and grindin' and grindin' and bumpin'.
As soon as she was willing, Jimmy's jeep was rollin',
and her lips were swollen from the fat shit she was tokin'.
By 4 o'clock his waterbed was broken,
she called me nervous from his cell-phone.
CHORUS
It ended on a Wednesday afternoon.
Josie arrived at my apartment with mascara running down her cheeks.
She was crying like a baby, saying: What a mistake!
I had to sit on my hands to keep them from slapping her face.
'Cause as soon as I asked her if she used protection,
I saw Josie's complexion turn a shade of gray.
Now what am I supposed to say?
Just don't party on a weekday.
Live to die
For a heart jam
Fight to love a
Super bitch
Drive her roots
Straight to hell
Atomic ass 99
Another cosmic monster
Spits his teeth
In your eye
More dead than alive
Revenge is better than
Love
Revenge is better than
Love
Frankenstein
Was built for you
But he must be
Destroyed
Cut him down yeah
In his prime
And let the party
Begin
Not much of a face
tombstone laughing
More dead than alive
Revenge is better than
Love
Revenge is better than
Love
Revenge
Revenge
Revenge
Revenge
They sharpened their war
Pure fear as a weapon
Brilliance through
Centuries
Time rolls on and on and
The river of life
Drowning everyone but me
Turn my back
And disappear
Chill is in my gut
Turns me loose
Head splits like wood
Mind collide confession
Rambling remember when
Sweat meant something
More dead than alive
Revenge is better than
Love
Revenge is better than
Love
Tuesday Afternoon
Moody Blues
Tuesday afternoon,
I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way
It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away.
Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh.
I'm looking at myself reflections of my mind,
It's just the kind of day to leave myself behind.
So gently swaying through the fairyland of love,
If you'll just come with me you'll see the beauty of
Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday, afternoon,
I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way.
It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away.
Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh.

Draws the card and says that everything’s all right
Steals the sleep right from your eyes
‘Cause karma lives within it’s own idea of time
Good fortune’s how you live these lies
Games like these are only played on
Games like these are only played on
Games like these are only played on
Tuesday afternoon
Tuesday afternoon
Draws the card and says there’s trouble up ahead
Things you didn’t do and all the things you did
Little girls with little thoughts and little fingers
running wild
Inside you wet
Sins like these are only made on
Sins like these are only made on
Sins like these are only made on
Tuesday afternoon
Tuesday afternoon
Draws the card and says that luck is on you side
Steals the breath right from your smile
It’s inexplicable that they should know it all
I draw the card to show your fall
Fear like this is only made on
Fear like this is only made on
Fear like this is only made on
Tuesday afternoon
Tuesday afternoon
Tuesday afternoon
Darling, you're lost but I know that you soon will be found
in yourself and then you'll go your own way
I hope that I always will stand by your side
when your dazed and confused 'bout what your mind will say
Your mind and soul talks to me
Look at the world, all those people around,
what on earth have they found that make them keep going on?
Don't dig to deep, you hit stones that punch holes
in your innocent soul, now look what you have found
It's Tuesday Afternoon and the sun has been
shining on the world today
All those people passin' me by outside,
they won't hide their love away
Darling, it's time to wake up,
you should listen to what the unprecious
little songbird sings
Take care of that sound, put it into your head
That's how you feed up your soul,
you can begin with this
It's Tuesday Afternoon and the sun has been
shining on the world today
All those people passin' me by outside,
they won't hide their love away
Tuesday Afternoon
Shining on the world
All those people passin me by outside,
they won't hide their love away
It's Tuesday Afternoon and the sun has been
shining on the world today
All those people passin' me by outside,
they won't hide their love away
Tuesday Afternoon
Shining on the world
All those people passin' me by outside,
