Matthew Perryman Jones (born 1973) is an American singer-songwriter who currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
Jones began his career as a singer-songwriter in 1997, playing his first public performances at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA. In 2000, Jones issued his first solo release, Nowhere Else But Here after moving to Nashville, TN to pursue music full-time.
In 2006 he released the album Throwing Punches in the Dark. This album, produced by Neilson Hubbard (Glen Phillips, Garrison Starr), was a departure from his previous Folk/Americana sound to something more Pop Rock. Throwing Punches in the Dark has been well received by critics and fans alike.[citation needed]
In 2007 Matthew was asked to perform at the historic Alabama Theatre in Birmingham, AL for the 10 year celebration of the syndicated radio program, Reg's Coffee House. Matthew shared the stage with Stoll Vaughan, Jim James (My Morning Jacket) and Patty Griffin. At this show, Matthew first performed his song Save You which, after recording, would launch Matthew onto the national scene with a high profile placement in the season finale of Kyle XY.
Mindy Smith (born June 1, 1972 on Long Island, New York) is an American singer-songwriter. Her music can be classified as all of the following: folk, country, Americana, bluegrass, pop, rock, and even alternative. Her voice and music have been compared to that of Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, Norah Jones, and Alison Krauss.
Smith was adopted at birth by a pastor and his wife. She has a brother and two sisters (Shannon, Kim and Don), and she grew up on Long Island, where she developed a passion for music and began singing at an early age. After her mother's death from cancer in 1991, Smith moved to Cincinnati for two years and then to Knoxville, Tennessee and, in 1998, she moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
Smith gained popularity in 2003 when she was asked to contribute to the Dolly Parton tribute album Just Because I'm a Woman by her label, Vanguard Records. Her contribution to the project was a cover of Parton's classic "Jolene". Dolly Parton followed by adding backing vocals to a new mix of the song, which was then featured on Smith's debut album that was released in January 2004, One Moment More. The pair also performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Foley: Mayo, I want you D.O.R.::Mayo: No sir. You can kick me outta here, but I ain't quitting.::Foley: Get into your fatigues, Mayo. By the end of this weekend, you'll quit.
[referring to Della Serra's haircut]::Foley: Now this is my idea of an ass bandit. Wait till some of the local girls get a look at you, Scrotum Head.
Foley: In every class, there's always one joker who thinks that he's smarter than me. In this class, that happens to be you. Isn't it, Mayonnaise?
Byron: I'm out at sea three weeks out of every month, and when I'm back at port I don't have time for this daddy stuff 'cause that's not who I am.::Young Zack: That's okay, sir::Byron: Wait a second, kid, you don't understand. I'm too old for this. I don't care what the Navy says. This is no place to bring up a kid like I told you on the telephone. You're better off at that state school back in Virginia.::Young Zack: I'm never going back there. They treat me like shit.::Byron: Maybe that's not for you to say. Goddamit, don't look at me that way. What happened to your mother had nothing to do with me.::Young Zack: It did. You said you were gonna come back. You promised.::Byron: Is that what she said? That's a female lie. That's bullshit! That's a lie!::Young Zack: I found your letters. I read them right after she did it. You said you were gonna come back for us. You said you loved her, and she believed you. You're a liar!
Mayo: I am talking to you, motherfucker!::Foley: What did you call me?
Worley: Look at them bodacious set of ta-tas.
Foley: There's not gonna be any liberty for you boys cause you'll be going home by then.
Topper: Who the hell is that guy?::Perryman: That's your momma and daddy for the next thirteen weeks.
Paula: You know something, you ain't nothing special. You got no manners, you treat woman like whores and if you ask me you got no chance of being no officer.
[Upon graduation]::Foley: Congratulations Ensign Seeger.::Seeger: Thank you, Sir.::Foley: Gunnery Sgt, Ensign Seeger, Sir.

I’d like to thank the guy who wrote the song

Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp
Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop
Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip
Who was that man, I’d like to shake his hand
He made my baby fall in love with me [Yeah]
When my baby heard
Bomp bah bah bomp
Bah bomp bah bomp bah
Every word went right into her heart
And when she heard them singin’
Rama lama lama lama
Lama ding dong
She said we’d never have to part
So who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp
Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop
Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip
Who was that man, I’d like to shake his hand
He made my baby fall in love with me [Yeah]
Each time that we’re alone
Boogity boogity boogity
Boogity boogity boogity shoo
Sets my baby’s heart all aglow
And everytime we dance to
Dip da dip da dip
Dip da dip da dip
She always says she loves me so
So who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp
Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop
Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip
Who was that man, I’d like to shake his hand
He made my baby fall in love with me [Yeah]
Darling, bomp bah bah bomp, bah bomp bah bomp bomp
And my honey, rama lama ding dong forever
And when I say, dip da dip da dip da dip
You know I mean it from the bottom of my boogity boogity boogity shoo

Once upon a time
There lived a genuine
American princess
In the heart of a heartless city
Raised on Coke and french fries
Seeing stars in her eyes
Honey hair and heartbreaking pretty
She was deep into teenage dreams
And crystal songs
And though, her friends
Her folks would always
Think were wrong
This is a fable of fantasy and fun
Oh, this is the story of
The princess and the punk
Way across town where
It's kind of run down
Lived a young easy rider
And this two came to love each other
Her folks said he was no good
So they met every chance that they could
And planned to run away with one another
They were deep into teenage dreams
And his brand new bike
So they took off down the highway
In the dead of night
This is a fable of fantasy and fun
Oh, this is the story of
The princess and the punk
Now some people say
They crashed on their way
'Cause they never were heard of
And midnight riders have
Heard their laughter
But the truth is that they got through
And did just what other folks do
They settled down to live
Happily ever after
Now the kids are into
Teenage dreams and disco bands
And love affairs they think
Their folks don't understand
But we just smile a secret smile
And every now and then
We climb aboard that dusty bike
And ride the roads again
This is a fable of fantasy and fun
Oh, this is the story of
Feelings washing over me
Like summer rain
I feel as if
I'm being born again
I lie, the morning free
The way that I was meant to be
My feelings were childhood treasures
I can't lock away
Like dusty souvenirs of yesterday
Forgotten all the dough
With fairy tales I used to know
But now I want to laugh and cry
Ride the wind and touch the sky
To know I'm real, to feel
To really feel all kinds of
Feelings, feelings
Feelings washing over me
Like summer rain
I feel as if
I'm being born again
And it all began

Look at this face
I know the years are showin
Look at this life
I still don't know where it's goin
I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know
Look at these eyes
They never seen what mattered
Look at these dreams
So beaten and so battered, hoo ooh
I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know
So many questions
Still left unanswered
So much
I've never broken through
And when I feel you near me
Sometimes I see so clearly
The only truth I've ever known
Is me and you
Look at this man
So blessed with inspiration
Look at this soul
Still searching for salvation
I don't know much
But I know I love you
And that may be

rain like, its been too long
like its always been away
rain like, like a new cloud
bleeding night into grey
bring all or nothing
short of 40 nights and days
or show me a mile away
and rain til you cant remember earth
til my feet cant feel the dirt
and my eyes see a mile away
til my feet can feel the sand
and i close my selfish hands
and pray that you wash it away
wash it away
brake once and i spin twice
gripping my last grain of sand
mixed with one tear, and with two drops
of sweat on which i stand
flashlights like a sunbeams
take me off this soiled land
the perfect end to a perfect crime, just another bad mistake, i see a dream in the distance, that's not too far away
i want it to be normal, i want it to be fair, i want it to be everything, i want it to be clear, i want it to be now, and i want it to be You, i want it to be perfect, but i don't know what to do,
Close your eyes, remember nothing that you've seen, time again, drowning in hostility, paint your skies, and run into that empty scene, spread your wings and lock your hands in unity, unity
Wipe the sleep from your eyes, dry the tears you have cried, breathe the breaths you have sighed, open doors you deny
Close your eyes, remember how it used to be, time again, life was taken selfishly, no more lies, turn and face reality, draw your strength, to overcome this tragedy, tragedy
look at her another way
shes seen too many rainy days
everyone has gone away
but still she stands
burn your flag of mockery
why is it so hard to see
everyone was meant to be
more than me
and its all within her reach
and still she stands
its all within her reach
the world is at her hands
look at him another way
youll never know the price he paid
breathe a breathe and life will fade
and still he stands
put it off another day
it will never fade away
the sun will set another day
but still he stands
itll all within his reach
he world is in his plans
its all within his reach
the world is in his hands
if we can make it through
we will feel it forever
Hear my cries, and fix my eyes, into Your Word, it must be heard, if You flow in me, then You will set me free, be in my mind, 'cause i've been i've been so blind
in myself i have wandered away, seek Your lost and guide them Your way,
and let my soul live, and i will praise You i will, let my soul live, and i will praise You again,
hear my cries, and make me wise, i'll see it through, to tell them of You, if You flow in me, then we will set them free, be in their minds, 'cause they've been they've been so blind,
for days upon time for days upon time, we could walk together, breathe together, for days upon time, you could always see Me see so clearly
but sometimes you get caught in yourself, and sometimes you put Me back on the shelf, and sometimes you get caught in yourself, and sometimes I get left out of you
child come home, leave yourself, rest in Me, and leave yourself,
for days upon time, you could always love Me, you could love Me, for days upon time, you could trust Me fully, trust in Me only
but sometimes you get caught in yourself, and sometimes you put Me back on the shelf, and sometimes you get caught in yourself, and sometimes I get left out of you,
the last days approaching, drawing nearer, searchin' for an answer to save your soul, confusion now befriends you, there's no time left to think, hoping that tomorrow will still be a hero,
standing at the judgement seat, preparing your confession, you begin to speak but find a loss of words, running through your mind are thoughts of hopelessness and fear, His verdict pierces like a sword,
you begin to notice there's no place to turn, no place for you to run to now, your life was short your life was not well planned, you should have thought this through before your final hour,
Pushing outward and seeping in
No one's falling
It's left within
Time keeps on tickin' away
Smile when you see today
Take one more step away
Tomorrow turns into today
And face the night
Hold your breath,
Take one more step to light
Crossing four lines and breaking down
No one's counting
You try so hard to build this up
But it always brings you down
You try so hard to live it up
But it always comes around
What if tomorrow it
All comes down
And everyone falls to the ground
And when the sun sets you look around
And everyone's lost their crown
You've walked this hill so many times
Now you walk this path alone
You lost the thrill so many times
But your life is set in stone
You're made to run
But they slow you to a crawl
You're made to run
But they live to make you fall
You're made to run
But they got to have it all
You're made to run

Liftin' me up, me up, me up, me up. Liftin' me up, me up, me up, me up...
When I'm down on my luck and I'm searching for my soul
When I'm feeling too much and I start to lose control
When I'm down so low that even enemies don't wanna know
You still care for me, say a prayer for me, and I know
Oooh, I like you hangin' around
'Cause you lift me up when I am upside down
Oooh, you are my favorite sound
'Cause you're always down for
Lifting me up like an angel when I hit the ground
Feel your arms all around me when I'm feeling down
Lift me up like an angel when I hit my low
When your arms are around me
I don't wanna let you go
When I'm lost along the way and I can't face another day
And if I stumble on the road and if I can't carry the load
And if I lose my faith, and kindness, and generosity
Would you hold my hand?
Say you understand my pain
Oooh, I like you hangin' around
'Cause you lift me up when I am upside down
Oooh, you are my favorite sound
'Cause you're always down for
Lifting me up like an angel when I hit the ground
Feel your arms all around me when I'm feeling down
Lift me up like an angel when I hit my low
When your arms are around me
I don't wanna let you go
It's been a long hard road, and it's only just begun, my friend
And this I know
You helped me carry the load
'Cause you're always down for
Lifting me up like an angel when I hit the ground
Feel your arms all around me when I'm feeling down
Lift me up like an angel when I hit my low
Well, you're always around
You're my favourite sound
Lift me up like an angel when I hit the ground
Feel your arms all around me when I'm feeling down
Lift me up like an angel when I hit my low
When your arms are around me
I don't wanna let you go
I don't wanna let you go
'Cause you lift me up now
Well, you're always around.
You're my favourite sound
Lift me up now
You lift me up
Lift me up now
Yeah, you're always around
You're my favourite sound
so-long to good old yesterday
it's been real but time will not stand still
so-long to good old apathy
it's been real but now you see that all this is dead
you'll see
its everything... you'll never be
you'll see
its everything... you'll never be
this time
it's you it's me it's everything you'll never be
this time
it's you it's me it's everything you'll never be
so-long to all these little games
it's been fun but look at what it cost
sit back and find another way
i'm alright with this
choosing to exist
and i will savor every second
i will make it through
just knowing You
and i am willing to cement it
now it's so clear and so near
that i can never turn my back in shame
it doesn't get better than this
falling behind one day at a time
it couldn't get better than this
so why try? now we're out of time
just one sacrifice of turning off the lights
and the world could be ours to hold
soon the world will fade
with everything we've made
because living in the stars grows old
it's so clear and so near
Yeah you judge me
For god knows what now
Always bitching, always moaning
And trying to bring me down
But, I can't be bothered By all the things you say
So shut your fucking mouth And pass that 40 my way! One way there's no way
You inconsiderate prick
You never see me, believe me
You're making me sick
Society will judge us
But I don't give a fuck
They're always handing us their shit
That always turns up bad luck
Just leave us alone You always tried to be on top
And this you have shown
Right in my face, just like you intended to
Then pushed them right in my face, like intentions do
Open Eyes, the stories inside
Burning bridges so the past we hide
You try to keep and open mind, It closes on you
Well can't you see, what you've got to do? Now listen, why not try and understand
That which made no sense to you Made no more sense to the man
I guess that is why opinions run such amuck
But hey, if you're asking me, I don't give a fuck
So that's why, we try, to turn right away? You're running down that dirt road the road of today
Passing everyone, I guess that's just how it goes
Faster, hoping nobody knows! You live your life, and set mine aside
You never tried
Well now it's time to see, you're you, not me
Realize! Well now you're down on your luck
You're never going to be
It's time for you to realize, it isn't you it's me
Just live how you live, as all the day's pass you by
But, don't you try and tell me how
When all you do is lie
Conforming to you? Oh give me a fucking break
Just take a look at you my friend You're just another fake
Yes nyah, cool nuh Iyah
Who Am I, I am jus the girls dem sugar (alright)
Hear yah nuh
Sim Simmer, who got the keys to my bimmer
Who am I, the girls dem sugar

The love for me she have, that is the only thing I need
I dont think den right now just to loose my main squeeze
Oh guantalamela yuh a killer

Man see yuh body all a kill mosquito
Hold yuh body right just fi know yuh the power
I tell myself I dont want anybody else to ever love me
You are my guiding star, my shining light, I love you baby
But that day you leave and yuh gone

That I am the girls dem sugar
Now the girls dem attack mi and di girls dem a rush mi
Because dem a drive inna mi bommer
A di girls dem flavor, I am no slave
I am the helper, no paper
An a girl just watch yah
I watched the colors fade to gray,
as all my tears got in the way,
my feelings paralyzed me,
but then i learned to walk away
the Son has left these scars,
from forty days of wandering,
the little picture on my mirror,
is calling me back home,
the folded paper in my pocket is what i can't let go of, but i was never made,
to live this life i can't call my own
the man behind the mask,
is sellin' second chances in a pill,
i have to choose between a savior,
turn and lock the room
never be found again
a voice like a stranger
and all out of anger
and i know you feel it too
pass away the old
lay to rest my friend
pass away the old
this will be the end
this will be the end of me
i will start again
i will start again with you
this is where it ends
a shadow's all thats left
its always been stronger
its always been longer
and i know you feel it too
pass away the old
lay to rest my friend
pass away the old
this will be the end
this will be the end of me
i will start again
i will start again with you
this will be the end
this will be the end of me
i will start again
i will start again with you
this will be the end
this will be the end of me
i will start again
Looked at the clouds today
everyone will fall someday
just like the dust will fade
six feet deep in front of me
I wanna run away, seize the day
not a sound or word to say
dreaming never felt this way
I wanna run away, seize the day
not a sound or word to say
dreaming never felt this way
Speak to me forever
because Your voice is so pleasant
stay with me forever
because Your face is so present
Stared in the Son today
everything has turned to gray
let go of all my pain
soon enough I'll feel the rain
I wanna run away, seize the day
not a sound or word to say
dreaming never felt this way
I wanna run away, seize the day
not a sound or word to say
dreaming never felt this way
Speak to me forever
because Your voice is so pleasant
stay with me forever
because Your face is so present
Speak to me forever
because Your voice is so pleasant
stay with me forever
her mother always told her
she sings just like an angel
she swears she never left that song behind
she looks just like the type she
says she doesn't lie to
songs are circling her mind
lies
are another way
to close another day
that she dedicates a song to
'cause everybody's just looking for something
to play inside their heads
and tell them that they're ok
just a soundtrack to nothing
to play inside their heads
and tell them that theyre ok
she always sings the weekends
breathing in the deep end
so she only sees through sunday
she swallows all that she can take
from a song that she cant shake
and a melody that wont stop
silence
and a quiet mind
is all that separates her
sometimes i follow Your name,
and even beg for more,
too often then i crumble,
down onto the floor,
forgetting where i came from,
can be so immature,
forgetting all that's perfect,
i turn and shut the door
but You still remain
and i still need You,
more than i can ever know,
more than life can even show to me
my vision clears so quickly,
my past is torn away,
new life breathes through my body,
Yesterday's wars stack up like old papers on the floor
Pounding like old knocks upon my door
Breaking like the ocean, washing through my hands
Changing this old mountain into sand
You know me by the stories I have made
You know me by looking out through boxes and cages
And it's hard to clearly see what's right in ordinary light
Does the truth filter down through the ages
We cannot see the end so here we must begin
Tell me, what will we write on these pages?
Life's open road, showing only what it wants to show
Callin' when it's time for us to go
Driven by emotion, pushing from the past
Runnin' till our spirit's free at least
You know me by the stories I have made
You know me by looking out through boxes and cages
And it's hard to clearly see what's right in ordinary light
Does the truth filter down through the ages
We cannot see the end so here we must begin
Tell me, what will we write on these pages?
Down through history we race across
Borders into empty space we write
A chapter of fable, a line, a trace
Another heart may follow
You know me by the stories I have made
You know me by looking out through boxes and cages
And it's hard to clearly see what's right in ordinary light
Does the truth filter down through the ages
We cannot see the end so here we must begin
Tell me, what will we write on these pages?
We cannot see the end, so here we must begin
I can't see all around
But on familiar ground
I hear a softer sound
Over and over it said,
"Whisper these words for me
Revive dead poetry
And they will surely see,"
Over and over again
Time will see it through
Time will make us new
I can't take all of this
False prophets dividends
Goodbye to innocence
Over, it's over again
I can't stop all of this
All targets never hit
But I'll know when I miss
20 minutes to showtime
a face in perfect pain
his nerves are shot and his eyes closed tight
he leaves his problems for rainy days
no one should have to fight this hard
with struggles in the form of friends
to pick a poison is easier said
when a person will not pretend
he says
why won't they listen?
they're gunna' fall off the earth
and no one will notice but me
one more decision
before they fall off the earth
and no one will notice but me
he only speaks when he means it
with passion bigger than his words
he knows his road is less traveled
and many have fallen before
no one should have to have dreams like this
that darken on rainy days
to pick a poison is easier said
In You, I feel so safe and sure, in You,
I feel all that is pure, in me,
There's nothing I can give in me,
No worthy life can I live
But in Your arms I feel so tight,
Please don't leave me day or night,
In Your arms I feel so tight,
Everything else is empty,
In You, I find my hiding place,
Where I can always see Your face, in me,
There's nothing I can do, in me,
There's nothing I can give to You,
Everything else is empty,
The wind till reminds
What's behind me catches up
When I find myself residing
In the same place I woke up
Walking gives me wisdom
And standing never finds the words
The deaf man heard
So why am I still here?
Waiting for the anvils and pianos to appear
My confidence and common sense has
Questioned all that's clear
I ignore my best advice
That lightning never strikes me twice
I can't repeat myself again
Why am I still here?
Learning can't define me
Unless I haven't learned
Like suntan beauties
Sit and laugh until they burn
Living gives me freedom
To take and to mistake a love
For better or for worse
Why do I still stand
I've been working at these knots for a long time
Trying to find what I'm tied to the tightest
Fist full of confidence
Fistful of of all my possessions and what could be
Moving on my way
Moving on my way
And all the world seems to move with me
I've been keeping my head just to please you
Holding my breath 'til the light hits my face
Head full of promises
Heart falling short of a love for what will be
Moving on my way (Don't forget why you came)
Moving on my way
And all the world seems to move with me
And all the world seems to move with me
I'm not worth dying for
Over something out of nothing
So throw me overboard
And i'll meet you on the shore
And all the world seems to move with me
the less i become
the more you're becoming
my name next to nothing
i'm followed closer in the steps i lead
one in front of the other
carrying me
and burying me
i want you to be
the beacon on my sea
the change in me
i want you to see
my softer side
my darker side
i've learned that i've lost all i've loved
and all for a first love
my life can live and die with me
but i'll never be enough to replace you
to face you
i want you to be
the beacon on my sea
the change in me
i want you to see
my softer side
my darker side
i want you to be
the beacon on my sea
the change in me
i want you to see
my softer side
my darker side
these cold hands are callusing
bring me to reality
take my mind
and these tired eyes
break my pride
waiting for a reason
watching the seasons change
when will it be alright?
when will it seem less strange?
i see the similar differences
surfacing again
i know i'm reliving instances
i put behind me
loving one direction
loving with nothing returned
living in free fiction
Ten finger fist
In a room that's full of silence
In a world that cries to sleep
I say goodnight
As i rest beneath the sirens
And i pray my soul to keep
Coz tonight you'll feel everything
Tonight you won't sleep
So send my best regards
To those who cry hollow tears tonight
And send your softest words
