Press release by Association of Professional College Teachers(Regd) This association was formed to uphold interests and welfare of the teaching faculty of all professional colleges who were not organised and supported to safe guard their interests and bears registration No.88/98-99 Mr Savinaya working as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy at the KSHEMA since 22 January 2007 under Nitte Education Trust.Subsequently ,the institute was merged to Nitte university in 2009.He was illegally terminated on 28th November 2013. Though he was appointed for Medical College, he was forced to teach the Dental,Physiotherapy ,Nursing and other allied courses without any substantial remuneration.He had been performing the duties entrusted to him without fail. It was in 20th and 22nd July 2013 that he was called upon by the then Registrar ,Dr h.V.Sudhaker Nayak of Nitte University and forced him to resign .When asked about the reasons , he said that he will be removed based on excess staff.When asked if there was excess staff , how there were new appointments made,he said that he can terminate without any reasons, or else he had to face an enquiry which they would frame allegations against him and terminate as per their will and fancy. When asked for the allegations , he replied that over the period of three years, there are several against you and without informing you we can terminate.It is your decision to resign and go or face termination while they will conduct an enquiry for formality. Dean Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary had called upon later 31st July 2013 and said that if you don't like our type of exam system,you resign and go and with permission of the President Mr Vinaya Hegde ,you will not be harmed.These are not the words to be said of a person who holds a high office which shows arrogance of his position.This is a straight threat to his life and hence now he feels he has to be safe from their goony attitude.He also asserted that he would be terminate with formal enquiry. Enquiry was conducted at short notice and when he demanded the allegations in writing ,nothing was given and the cause of Natural justice was denied as they claimed in the show cause notice. 1.No proper norms were followed during issuance of the show cause notice as well as enquiry commission. 2.Many rules and regulations of the UGC framed for the deemed to be Universities are flouted 3 They do not respond to any information which falls under the category of RTI 4 they vehemently deny anybody or committee formed as per norms of the University. 5.Governing body members are only shown on paper and communication sent to them is returned by the postal department stating that "No such persons at Nitte University". It is our earnest appeal to the Management to please withdraw the termination order and reinstate him so as he can service APCOT urges the associations,political parties, student bodies and self help groups to make aware these institutions who exploit them to the maximum without giving proper remuneration as promise to the govt at the time of seeking affiliations and other approvals. We appeal to Capt Ganesh Karnik,MLC,Mangalore from teachers's constituency to help the candidate in securing justice at the earlest. We implore Justice Santhosh Hegde who after his eminent father,Justice K S Hegde ,the institution has been named to kindly internvene and do justice to him. We appeal to UT KHADER , Health and family welfare Minister,Government of Karnataka. We appeal to Sri R V Deshapande ,Minister for Higher education Govt. of Karnataka We appeal to Dr Sharan Prakash Patil ,Hon'ble Minister for Medical Education Govt of Karnataka. UGC members to regulate the deemed universities who violate the rules and regulations framed by UGC.
