I bless the day I found you,
I want to stay around you
And so I beg you, let it be me
Don't take this heaven from one,
If you must cling to someone
Now and forever, let it be me
Each time we meet love,
I find complete love
Without your sweet love
what would life be
So never leave me lonely,
Tell me you love me only
And that you'll always let it be me
Each time we meet love,
I find complete love
Without your sweet love
I was a inexperienced boy who just turned fifteen
She was a worldly woman exactly my same age
And I had heard the stories going around about her
Ah what I heard put my young blood into a rage
So I asked to take her out one Friday evening
Scared to death I'd find what I was looking for
And when she got into my car She sat close to me
Then reached right out and firmly locked my door
My first time
Going through my mind
Was this is my first time
My first time
Please be kind this is my first time
Then she suggested we drive out somewhere into the country
Then she suggested we climb into the back seat
But when she asked how long I thought that I could last there
Ah I had to confess it was all over for me
You see this is my first time
I was so blind
This is my first time
My first time
You were so kind
My first time
My first time
It was so fine
My first time
Don't you ever think about
The things you can't explain in life
The questions that have no answers
Where you're goin' when you die
And how far up is the sky
And why you find comfort in a preacher?
Oh Lord, my head needs peace
Oh Lord, will wonder never cease?
Something that's inside your brain
That makes your body feel the pain
Of words that were spoken
The way your ego seems to wilt
The morning when you feel the guilt
Of a promise that was broken
Why you feel the way you do
When some one that is close to you
Finds she has to go away
Why the town is always still
On Sunday when they ring the bell
Is it what they have to say?
More than the greatest love the world has known
This is the love I'll give to you alone
More than the simple words I try to say
I only live to love you more each day
More than you'll ever know
My arms long to hold you so
My life will be in your keeping
Waking sleeping laughing weeping
Longer than always is a long long time
But far beyond forever you'll be mine
I know I've never lived before
And my heart is very sure
No one else could love you more
It must have been moonglow
Way up in the blue,
It must have been moonglow
That led me straight to you.
I still hear you saying
'Dear one, hold me fast'
And I start in praying
Oh Lord, please let this last.
We seemed to float right through the air,
Heavenly songs seem to come from everywhere.
And now when there's moonglow
Way up in the blue
I always remember
That moonglow gave me you.
Lately things ain't been the way they should be
I've been coming down on you
You've been coming down on me
I know the feeling's there
Like it always was
We just need sometime
To catch up on our love
We can't get away and go anywhere
We have too many things
To keep us right here
But I know a place
We can be alone
Let's lock the bedroom door
And unplug the phone
Let's take a long loving night
Holding each other tight
Touching each other like
Young lovers do
Let's turn some music on
And turn off the lights
And make our love right
With a long loving night
Let's just be lovers for awhile
And dance in the glow
Of the light from the radio dial
We'll whisper all the things
We need to say
When we get away
On our one night holiday
I must admit I've followed every rainbow
I've lived so high I've missed the lows
All my life
I've used my charms
Other ladies have filled my arms
But you have stayed beside me
All my life
I was looking so hard
I couldn't see
The dearest one
Who'd been a part of me
I was living my life without you
Baby you always knew
You saw through my disguise
And open up my eyes
I was living my life without you
How many times have I held you
Like I did last night
And never even seen
The light of you
So I must admit
That you saw more in you and me
Than a fool like me could ever see
All my life
You can run around and fool yourself real easy
You can go around in circles till you drop
But that kind of living is sure to drive you crazy
And there comes a time when the running has to stop
You can spend your nights like a candle both ends burning
But you'd be using up your credits by the score
For there comes a time when your carousel stop turning
You can't raise the price of the ticket anymore
I'm gonna lay me down with you
I feel a change is over due
I'm gonna settle down
And say goodbye you crazy town
It's all I wanna do
I'm coming 'round to lay me down with you
I've dreamed of puttin' some roots down for the future
I've got to find the things of value I once knew
But I've lived so long against my better nature
There's no way I can do it without you
The kids are finally in bed
Visions in their heads
The gifts are laid out
Where they can see
Placed there by you and me
We're holding hands by the fire
Both so happily tired
This is the time
We wait for every year
It's late Christmas eve
That special time just for you and me
All the colors of Christmas
A glow by the light of the tree
The kids have been so good
We probably got them more than we should
It's one of those times you know
Why you believe
Late Christmas eve
The house is blessed with the sound
Of a new soft snow falling down
Tomorrow's excitement just seems
To hang in the air
It's suspended there
It's the single best night of the year
Knowing the kids biggest day is so near
Tonight is ours
But tomorrow's all there's
For ever and ever and ever darlin'
It will always be
That very special time
Just for you and me
Late Christmas eve
I'm in the mood for love
Simply because you're near me
Funny, but when you're near me
I'm in the mood for love
Heaven is in your eyes
Bright as the stars we're under
Oh, is it any wonder?
I'm in the mood for love
Why stop to think of whether
This little dream might fade?
We've put our hearts together
Now we are one, I'm not afraid
If there's a cloud above
If it should rain, we'll let it
But, for tonight, forget it
I'm in the mood for love
I'm going to out of way places trying to change my ways
Cause unfamiliar faces they look good to me these days
I don't want to see any old friend that wouldn't do for me
Cause you just might be with them and you're the last one I want to see
Just the sight of you and baby look at me
I become a sight anyone can see
I start to come undone and then I want to run
That's what I go through at just the sight of you
Now I can run and run and run and run I can go and hide
But you're always with me somewhere down inside
Now as long as you stay that way no one ever knows
But the minute I lay eyes on you I start losing control cause
Down the way where the nights are gay
And the sun shines daily on the mountain top
I took a trip on a sailing ship
And when I reach Jamaica I made a stop
But I'm sad to say I'm on my way
Won't be back for many a day
My heart is down my head is turning around
I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town
She wants to know where I am all the time,
Who I talk to what I do
When I'm away she calls on the phone,
You'd think she's checking up on me
She says she just wants to hear my voice
And make sure I'm ok
I'm glad I've got someone
Who love's me like that
Someone who always misses me
And just can't wait till I get back
She can't love me too much...
I just can't get enough
I'm glad I've got someone...
Who love's me like that
I'll have a day at work
When everything has gone wrong,
I want to spend some time alone
Out on the freeway
Feeling sorry for myself,
I hear the ring of the car phone
She says 'Hey baby how's it going
Are you on your way home?'
I finally sorted things out in my mind
And kinda got myself back together again
For a few months there I didn't know where I was
Much less where I'd been
Your leaving me hit me hard
But really does me in
Is I'd do it again
It's not like I could stop it
Even if I wanted to
That's how strong my love is for you
Even if it don't work out
After movin' back in
I'd do it again
I finally sorted thing out in my mind
And kinda got myself back together again
Standing in the shadows
Can sure get lonely
You got no reason to hide
There's something deep inside
Saying let it go
Listen to your heart beat
It's trying to tell you
This is not a fantasy dream
All that you feel is real
It's time to let it flow
It's time to face the music and dance
It's time to let life hear your song
It's time to face the music and dance
You've been on the shelf too long
So slip off your shoes
And let down your hair
Flow with the feeling in the air
It's time to face the music and dance, dance
Whirling and twirling
You sparkle and shine
And light up the night
And once you start moving
You'll find that the music
Fits you just right
It fits you just right
I touch you, and you start to pull away
Like there's something on your mind
You just can't say
You don't think I know, what's going on
But I know you think, our love is gone
You won't come right out and say it
But I can see it in your eyes
You're thinking of leaving
But you can't say goodbye
You may never leave me
But sometimes I have doubts
Cause I know it's crossed your mind
And it's the thought that counts
It may look bad, but I don't see it that way
I see a lot of hope in the words you don't say
That you won't tell me, shows me you care
But it's still hurts to know
Those thoughts are there
I can't show my face
Can't go any place
People stop and stare
It's so hard to bare
Everybody knows you left me
It's the talk of the town
Every time we meet
My heart skips a beat
We don't stop to speak
Though it's just a week
We sent out invitations
To friends and relations
Announcing our wedding day
Friends and relations
Gave congratulations
How can you face them
What can you say
Let's make up sweet heart
We can't stay apart
Don't let foolish pride
Keep you from my side
How can love like ours
Be ending
It's the talk of the town
It's gonna be so hard
To find a new girl to love
Well it's gonna be so hard
To find a new girl to think of
I'm supposed to forget that sweet face
But that's something even time can't erase
There's no one else could take her place
It can't be done
There's only one
She's out having fun
With-out me
Well it's gonna be so hard
To get that girl off my mind
Well it's gonna be so hard
To find a girl of that kind
I'm supposed to forget her smile
I'm supposed to forget in a while
But for me that will be quite a trial
She'll always be
The only girl for me
Someday she'll see
But when will that be
Well it's gonna be so hard
To find a new girl to care
Well it's gonna be so hard
To find a girl anywhere
I'm supposed to forget her real fast
I'm supposed to find a new love to last
But all I can think of is the past
It just can't be
The memory
Lingers on with me
Oh when will she see
Well it's gonna be so hard
You are the good and you are the bad
You are the best I've ever had
You're on the left and you're on the right
You are the day and you're every night
You're on the top and you're underneath
You're every where never out of reach
Now it may be right and it may be wrong
But every time I go you aren't alone
Your love is all around me it's everywhere
The thrill of you surrounds me like a fever in the air
I can feel you I can taste you
Even if you're not there
Your love is all around me it's everywhere
Your love's the words and your love's the rhyme
It is a tune playing in my mind
It's over here it's never there
Cos your love's a part I could never share
Your love is everywhere
This ain't no special night
No silver soft moonlight
I couldn't even tell you if the
Stars were out tonight
Ain't no Christmas eve
Ain't no Halloween
It's just a night like most every
Night that I've ever seen
But it just feels right tonight
It just feels good tonight
If we were ever gonna fall in love
Tonight's the night that we'll
Fall in love
Cause it just feels right tonight
There ain't no magic glow
No special words I know
But I'm sure now I never want to let
You go
And why I feel this way
Is because you feel this way
And we will be in love before
The light of day
This is my island in the sun
Where my people have toiled since time begun
I may sail on many seas
But yours will always be home to me
Oh island in the sun
Will to me by my fathers hand
All my days I will sing the praise
Of the forest waters your shining sand
Look into my eyes
You expect to see, a smile
What do you expect
When you'll be gone for such a long while
I tried so hard to keep a straight face
But it seem to be so much out of place
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
I do
Who is this guy not supposed to cry
When you say bye bye
Is this guy not supposed to die
When you say bye bye
Well what am I supposed to do
Stand up and laugh a while
I hate to disappoint you
But I can't even smile
Look into my eyes
Tell me what you see
My dear
Where you used to see a smile
Now all the while
You see a tear
I hate to be acting this way
But there seems to be
Just one thing to say
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
I do
[Instrumental]
Well hello,
Never thought I'd see that face again
Lord I can't remember when the last time was
But here you are
Hidden in a box of odds and ends
Tucked between some pictures of old friends
My Old Friend
These things just needed going through
The last thing I thought I'd find is you
But here you are
Smiling that smile
Breezy as a summer day
And here you are
Looking at me that easy way
As if to say, here you are
Well I know I really ought to toss you out
Some day I'll just have to lie about why you're here
But here I am
Taking another chance with you
Taking another glance or two
At those eyes
And here's a kiss for old time's sake
Thank God that hearts don't really break
We lost each other then lost track
But I had a feeling one day you'd be back
And here you are
Maybe I'm crazy
But I feel insecure
Look me straight in the eye
So I can rest assured
We've been making love so long
I shouldn't have to ask
Is it gonna last
Let's have a heart to heart
Person to person conversation
About our heart to heart
Person to person situation
Please don't touch me now
You always turn me on
The meaning of what we say
Will get lost in our arms
I need to know how you feel
And hear it from you lips
Not from your finger tips
Let it come from the heart
And mean what you say
And I'll believe you
Every word of the way
I've seen you together every place
I've seen the smile upon your face
I've seen the magic of his charm
The way he gently takes your arm
And he's right - damn him
He's so right - damn him
He stands his ground
But then he gives it
And he's so right
He may not dress the way he should
But he treats you like I wish I could
Next to you he's like a frog
But he is loyal as a dog
Well have you ever had the blues
And didn't know which way to go
Have you ever sat alone
And watched your telephone
Boy you've really had the blues
I don't know what love is
But this is one thing I know
Somebody's got to help me
These blues have got to go
I've got the blues
You know I'm feeling mighty sad
This looks like the end my friend
Yeah I really got the blues
The stores are all closed
Got the street to myself
Here is so peaceful
But all is not well
It's almost like
I wish it would rain
Something to blame
Something in our love has changed
We're still together
But it's not the same
We're in a place
That I never thought we'd be
In your eyes I see something
I never thought I'd see
I made you hate loving me
I know I don't have to
Admit this to you
But I realize
What I've put you through
You made it so easy
Baby what makes it so hard
Is that you don't even know
What makes it so hard
Is that you won't let it show
What makes it so hard
So much can be said without saying a word
Your tears are telling me more
Than words I've ever heard
We better stop and think just
How much we're throwing away
Real love's so hard to find
And goodbye's too easy to say
We're somewhere between the tears and goodbye
On the edge of breaking up but
We can survive
As long as there's a spark of
Love burning in our eyes
If we still care enough to cry
There ought a be a way to keep
The feeling alive
Somewhere between the tears and goodbye
What happened to the days we
Made love the whole night long
How could something feel right
Somehow go so wrong
We're slowly drifting apart a
Little further every day
We better listen to our hearts
Before we let love slip away
WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I WAS FALLING IN LOVE?
Lobo
Written by Sam Lorber / Jeff Silbar / Steve Jobe
When your eyes met mine,
I knew that I had better play it cool --
I'm doing my best trying to resist
‘Cause I ain't no fool.
Where in the world did you come from baby?
You waited just a little too long
To look my way.
Now it's a little to late.
Where were you
When I was falling in love?
I was looking for you, baby.
Where were you
When I was falling in love?
Looking for you, baby.
If I'd ever looked in those eyes before,
We'd be together tonight I'm sure.
Where were you
When I was falling in love?
Where were you
Lost and looking for love?
If I'd have met you sooner,
I'd be talking to you and playing the game.
But the best thing for me to do
Is get up and leave without knowing your name.
It might have been something special, baby,
Something only people in love could understand --
Like this ring on my hand.
From: "Roy T. O'Conner"
When your eyes met mine
I knew that I had better play it cool
I'm doing my best trying to resist
Cause I ain't no fool
Where in the world did you come from baby
You waited just a little too long
To look my way
Now it's a little to late
Where were you
When I was falling in love
I was looking for you baby
Where were you
When I was falling in love
Looking for you baby
If I'd ever looked in those eyes before
We'd be together tonight I'm sure
Where were you
When I was falling in love
Where were you
Lost and looking for love
If I'd have met you sooner
I'd be talking to ya and playing the game
But the best thing for me to do
Is get up and leave without knowing your name
It might have been something special baby
Something only people in love could understand
When I saw you standing there
I bout fell out my chair
And when you moved your mouth to speak
I felt the blood go to my feet.
Now it took time for me to know
what you tried so not to show
Now something in my soul just cries
I see the want in your blue eyes.
Baby, I'd love you to want me
The way that I want you
The way that it should be
Baby, you'd love me to want you
The way that I want to
If you'd only let it be.
You told yourself years ago
You'd never let your feeling show
The obligation that you made
For the title that they gave.
You don't remember me,
But I remember you
Was not so long ago,
You broke my heart in two
Tears on my pillow,
Pain in my heart,
Caused by you,
If we could start anew,
I wouldn't hesitate
I'd gladly take you back,
And tempt the hands of fate
Tears on my pillow,
Pain in my heart,
Caused by you,
Love is not a gadget,
Love is not a toy
When you find the one you love,
You'll fill your heart with joy
If we could start anew,
I wouldn't hesitate
I'd gladly take you back,
And tempt the hands of fate
Tears on my pillow,
Pain in my heart,
Caused by you,
Did you say I've got a lot to learn
Well, don't think I'm trying not to learn
Since this is the perfect spot to learn
Teach me tonight
Starting with the ABC of it
Right down to the XYZ of it
Help me solve the mystery of it
Teach me tonight
The sky's a blackboard high above you
If a shooting star goes by
I'll use that star to write I love you
A thousand times across the sky
One thing isn't very clear, my love
Should the teacher stand so near, my love
Graduation's almost here, my love
So teach me tonight
Whenever we go out any place
We look everyone we meet in the face
There ain't no old lovers that mean
A thing to me and you
Even if we run into one
There's nothing they have ever done
That could ever even come close
To the things that we do
There ain't no ghosts in our closet
No old flames on the fire
No secret lovers to fill us with desire
We ain't got no big problems
And nothing to ever cause it
Baby there ain't no ghosts in our closet
Whenever we're together in bed
We say what ever comes into our head
Cause you'll never ever hear us
Mention someone else's name
Sometimes the sunshine works to clear my mind
Ridin' down a country road I start to think about
The things I could live without to lighten up my load
Of all the things I could stand to lose
Losing you is the one thing I could never do
You are my need
The reason for every breath that I breathe
My heart has a hunger
That only your love can feed
You are my need - you are my need
When I see you sitting there
Wind blowin' in your hair
I'm lookin' at the truth
There could never be any better place for me
Than right here with you
Let the world go on and pass me by
I've got everything I'll ever need in my life
It's been the lovers question
Ever since time began
How to keep good romance
From slipping through your hands
It ain't no trick to keep it
To hold on to what you got
The secret to the secret
Is to love and never stop
Got to keep holding on holding on
Holding on for dear love
You better try holding on holding on
Holding on for dear love
You've got to keep holding on holding on
Holding on for dear love
Holding on holding on
Don't you sometimes wonder
How a good love can go bad
Lovers crumble under
When they don't love the love they have
To break apart is tragic
And that is why I say
Cos when you lose that magic
You lose everything
Bull Smith is a honcho
In a golden Silverado
Driving through San Antonio
Listening to the radio
He's got Bull dogs on his fenders
Rattle snake suspenders
A hat with buzzard feathers
And boots with lizard leathers
He's handsome as a devil and he ain't nobody's fool
At high noon in the summer he stands cool
He's stronger than an eighteen wheeler stormin down the pike
But he goes home alone every night
Cos he can't dance (Bull Smith) the cotton-eyed Joe
He's got turquoise on his buckles
Diamonds on his knuckles
He can stare down a coyote
And get crazy on peyote
I've never been where I am now
I've never felt the same
Everything has changed
And I'm spinning round and round and round
She's taking me to a world
That's beyond my mind
Another pace and time
A place I never want to come back from
Beside her
Inside her
I'm in Cy-ber Love
Cyber Love
Cyber love has no end
It goes on and on
A never ending song
A circle going round and round and round
I've still got those country feelings
And their roots are in my soul
When I'm so tired I can't take it
Of this life that I've been sold
I turn off the world around me
And go drifting back in line
As those same old country feelings
Just come flowing across my mind
Love I can see you now
Like I've never seen you before
Love I can hear you now
Like I've never heard you before
Ummmmmmm
So come with me
Come away with me
Ah come with me
Ummmmmmm
Love I can touch you now
Like I've never touched you before
And love I can feel you now
Like I've never felt you before
Ohhhhhh
So come with me
Come away with me
So come with me
Love I can love you now
Like I've never loved anything
So come with me
Come away with me
Ah come with me
Come away with me
If you ever feel like
You need a friend in the night
Cos he ain't treating you right
You come looking for me
And if you ever should doubt
What his love is about
If the flame goes on out
Come looking for me
Come looking for me
I'll always be close by
I've been waiting for you
Since we said goodbye
If true love's what you need
To set your loving free
Come looking for me
Come looking for me
When the time finally comes
For you to go and run
Let your heart be the one
That comes looking for me
Cos your heart couldn't find
A truer love than mine
So baby take the time
To come looking for me
Coconut woman is calling out
And everyday you can hear her shout
Coconut woman is calling out
And everyday you can hear her shout
Get your Coconut water
Man is good for your daughter
Coco got a lot of iron
Make you strong like a lion
Over and over it's all I've had on my mind
Baby baby I've been lying to you all of this time
He's not what you think he is and I'm sharing the blame
Cause I've known all of this time he was playing the game
He's been cheating on you
He's been cheating on you
It's tearing me in two
That he's been cheating on you
Waiting and hoping that someone else would tell you
So afraid if I told you you might not think it was true
Cause you know how much I have loved you for so long
And I was going out of my head and I couldn't hold out any longer
Judy drowned Judy drowned
Why-O-Judy drowned
Judy drowned Judy drowned
Why-O-Judy drowned
Angelina Angelina please bring down your concertina
And play a welcome for me
Cos I be coming home from sea
Angelina Angelina please bring down your concertina
And play a welcome for me
Cos I be coming home from sea
Day-O, day-O (Day, me say day-O)

Day me say day me say day me say day
me say day me say day-O
The Caribbean disco show
There may be times in my day when I feel down
And I may walk around like a floppy old hound
There are people in my life we don't get along
But I know a time when nothin' goes wrong
And I'm always up when I get up in the morning
I'm always up at the end of the night
The morning smiles it's sun on me
I look over and it's you I see
And I'm always up when I get up in the morning
I'm up in the morning
My life may get hard on a certain week
And the people that I work with we may not speak
I might get drunk and stay out all night
Cause in the morning I know you won't be up tight
So long boy you can take my place,
Got my papers got my pay
So pack my bags and I'll be on my way
To yellow river
Put my guns down the war is won
Fill my glass high the time has come
I'm going back to the place that I love
Yellow river
Yellow river yellow river
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow river yellow river
Is in my blood it's the place I love
Got no time for explanation got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me
Sleeping underneath the moon at yellow river
Cannon fire lingers in my mind
I'm so glad that I'm still alive
And I've been gone for such a long time
From yellow river
I remember the nights were cool
I can still see the water pool
And I remember the girl that I knew
On yellow river
Just because they look good
They don't have to cost alot
That's what Wrangler thinks
Come and see the clothes they've got
They're clothes for easy living
They're clothes that live alot
So come and see the clothes
That Wranglers got
In the shelter of your eyes
I have finally learned my song
It took so long to realize
I just can't make it all alone
Words are only what they say
But this feeling isn't wrong
And I'm so glad I found my way
It's good to be where I belong
And I'm gonna stay right hear cause
I'm in rhythm with your eyes
Tune out the world and rest my head
In the shelter of your eyes
In the shelter of your eyes
I have finally learned my song
I'm so glad I found my way
Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If you're young at heart
For it's hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If you're young at heart
You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on your way
Don't you know that it's worth every treasure on Earth
To be young at heart
For as rich as you are it's much better by far
To be young at heart
And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you'll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart
We Sat And Talked For Hours
Never Mentioning His Name
Though We Never Talked About Him
He Was There Just The Same
It Took A While To Make Me Smile
And Want To Love Again
He Slipped Away Alittle Each Day
And Your Love Slipped In
You're Healing My Heart
With Your Gentle Touch
I'm Forgetting At Last
You're Making The Past
Not Hurt Quite So Much
You Pick Up The Pieces
When I Fall Apart
You're Loving Me Back Together Again
You're Healing My Heart
I Still Dream About You
Every Now And Then
And Wake Up Feeling Lonely
And Turn To You Again
You're Always There Willing To Share
My Love Or My Tears
You Tenderly Give Your Love To Me
And He'll Disappear
At the end of the rainbow
You'll find a pot of gold
At the end of a story
You'll find it's all been told
But our love has a treasure
Our hearts can always spend
And it has a story without an end
At the end of a river
The water stops it's flow
At the end of a high way
There's no place left to go
But just tell me you love me
And you are only mine
And our love will go on
Till the end of time
You give your hand to me
And then you say hello
And I can hardly speak
My heart is beating so
And anyone can tell
You think you know me well
But you don't know me
No you don't know the one
Who dreams of you at night
And longs to kiss your lips
Longs to hold you tight
To you I am just a friend
That's all I've ever been
Cause you don't know me
For I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy I let my chance go by
The chance that you might love me too
You give your hand to me
And then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away beside the lucky guy
To you will never know
The one who loves you so
Well you don't know me
Sometimes we walk hand in hand by the sea
And we breathe in the cool salty air
You turn to me with a kiss in your eye
And my heart feels a thrill beyond compare
Then your lips cling to mine
It's wonderful wonderful
Oh so wonderful my love
Sometimes we stand on the top of the hill
And we gaze at the earth and the sky
I turn to you and you melt in my arms
There we are darling only you and I
What a moment to share
It's wonderful wonderful
Oh so wonderful my love
This world is full of wondrous things it's true
But they wouldn't have much meaning without you
Some quiet evening I sit by your side
And we're lost in a world of our own
I feel the glow of your unspoken love
I'm aware of the treasure that I own
And I say to my self
It's wonderful wonderful
Oh so wonderful my love
Come on girl get aboard this bus
It's pretty crowded but there's room for us
It seems everybody here sees the beckoning light
Come on girl we'll be there Thursday night
The other side of the mountain
The greener side of the hill
A world is there for us to share
We'll make it I know we will
So come on girl get aboard this train
It's just about time we came out of the rain
We'll be stopping off in Lodi
But we won't be staying long
Come on girl we're going where we belong
So come on girl get aboard this dream
Only you know what it really means
When we get there you'll wash your hair
And let it dry in the sun
I feel at home on the desert all alone
The early morning sun feels warm on my face
I've always had this need for room to breathe
A place where I can go and set my mind at ease
Wide open spaces
Not a whisper of a sound
Not a soul for miles around
My peace can always be found
In those wide open spaces
My life is so clear lookin at it from way out here
My troubles seem to be so small and far away
And in my mind I see her waiting there for me
The sweetest kind of freedom I could ever feel
Heaven and earth come together
Where the land stretches out forever - forever
I've traveled all over the world
To places that most men just dream of
I've made me some friends on the way
I guess I've even known love
I've spent Christmas time on a beach
In a place that's not far from the moon
And I've watched the snow falling down
On the trees in the middle of June
I'm alot more lucky than most
I've had more breaks than a few
But why is it me instead of you
I've followed the sun to the west
Till I found where it sets in the east
I've eaten my meals on the floor
In a place where rice is a feast
I can sit with my love on a hill
And watch my child play below
I've learned how to live with myself
And let my true feelings show
As long as I remember
The rain been comin' down.
Clouds of misery pourin'
Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages,
Tryin' to find the sun;
And I wonder, Yes I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.
I went down Virginia,
Seekin' shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable,
I watched the mystery morn.
Five year plans and new deals,
Wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, Still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.
Heard the singer playin',
How they yelled for more.
The crowd had rushed together,
Tryin' to keep warm.
But still the rain kept pourin',
Fallin' on my ears.
And I wonder, Still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.
I got a gal who's waiting for me
Waiting for me to come home
Waiting for me to come home
Watching the clock all alone
I got a gal who'd do anything for me
Expecting my knock on the door
I'll be hitching rides three days or more
She's everything I'm looking for
So what am I doing here with you
Doing things that I shouldn't do
What am I doing here with you
When I promised her I'd be true
Cos she's got lips that taste like honey
(And honey) Sugar is good for my soul
I know she's worrying so
Expecting my knock on the door
We'll drop into town for a hot cup of coffee
And a few hours of sleep
And her pretty face is so sweet
And I was so tired and weak
Like whispers in the wind
Throughout the day
Your love calls out to me
In it's own special way
I hear your voice gently speaking to me
Those sweet sounds of love in my ear
No matter where the world may take me
I feel your love everywhere
Your whispers in the wind
Drifting on the breeze
Soothe my anxious heart
Until your here with me
I'll rush to your open arms
As soon as the day is through
As whispers in the wind
Well I have known you
A long long time you
You have been driving me
Out of my mind cause I
I look in your eyes
And I know what I see
I know that you feel
Just like me
But you will not let
Yourself go because
You are confused you just
You just do not know you say
To yourself this just
Could not be real
Believe me girl I know
Just how you feel
We can make it
Some kinda love
The world can't fake it
Our kind of love
If you let yourself do
What your heart keeps telling you
Oh we can make it
Some kind of love
We can make it
A year from now you will
Laugh at yourself just for
Fighting off what you
Just could not help
You will look back
And you'll love what you see
you say that our love
It just just had to be
Oh girl we can make it
Some kind of love
Yes girl we can make it
Some kind of love
You and me we can make it
Some kind of love
(Lobo)
Finding love is meaningful
Making love is beautiful
I can sense when I'm close to you
What I feel is getting through to you
When I got back to Atlanta
A whole lot worse for the wear
I may have lost the world I love
But at least I had been there
Lonesome, hurt and worried
With not a lot to do
Driving down Stone Mountain Road
Trying not to think of you
The southern woods are warm
And still
They lay good on my mind
And surely but so slowly
I'm starting to unwind
Trying not to think of things
That you did or didn't do
Here I am once again
Trying not to think of you
But I all do is think of you
And where you might be now
What's new with you?
Do you still have Boo?
I gotta find a way some how
To stop thinking of you
I wonder who I'll find this time
To turn my head for awhile
Maybe I'll pick a Georgia peach
Or maybe walk a mile
Whichever way it
Don't much make a damn what I do
'Cause either way I'll spend my time
I got me a girl on the other side of Big River
And you know that every night time I have to be with her
There's only one bridge across Big River
And it's a problem to me
I got to give the man a nickel and a quarter
And that's a fortune to me
Toll Road, T'sa toll road
For a poor hard workin' boy like me it seems funny
That every time I want lovin' I've got to pay money
I've got to take something down to the pawn shop man
And get less than it's worth
I don't mind the nickels
It's the quarters that hurt
Toll road, t'sa toll road
I got to spend my money to see my baby
Got to get me a ticket at the little station
Toll road, t'sa toll road
I delivered papers in the
Early morning rain - Oh what a pain
Getting up and going to school after that
But I saved my pennies and
I saved my dimes
Bought a Fender Stratocaster
On time
Had the best guitar around
And that's a fact
It had three pick-ups
And a tremolo bar
A hard-shell case designed for a star
I couldn't play much
It didn't matter to me
I thought I was Duane Eddy
Music wasn't much back then
I can still remember when
The boys asked me to join their band
People liked my guitar
So I stood in the light
And it seemed that after every night
It was me who always got
Why can't I turn and walk away
Why am I looking for one more thing to say
My heart has nailed my feet to the floor
I cannot make my body move towards the door
This old love sure is hard to kill
It just wants to stay alive
This old love has an iron will
It just will not die
Just when we think it's finally gone
We find a little string that
Keeps it hanging on
Then we both pull until we ache
But I don't think that string is
Ever gonna break
Goodbye Hawkeye, So long Houlihan
B.J. and Klinger, Winchester and
Father Mulcahy and Colonel Potter gone
The party is over but the players will live on
The party's over everybody's gone
Now I know just how it feels
To really be alone
Was his Dad down at the station
When he reached Crab Apple Cove
His Mama waving from the kitchen
Was his cow down by the road
Did they throw a bash in Boston
Were the little girls all grown
Did they turn out in Toledo
To watch a man come marching home
Laughter was the remedy
You prescribed for every wound
Even suicide was painless
You even laughed at doom
Every week it was something
That needed to be shown
You sometimes hid the message
But you always brought it home
Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes aaah
When she walks she's like a samba that
Swings so cool and sways so gentle,
That when she passes, each one she passes goes aaah
Oh, but I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her?
Yes, I would give my heart gladly
But each day when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead not at me
Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes I smile, but she just doesn't see
She just doesn't see
She just doesn't see
She doesn't see me
We were young and did not know
Where the love we had started would go
We both felt the fire inside
It was so strong we could not let it die
It started easy but it grew
Bigger than both of us
And by the time we knew
Our lives would never be the same
This love between us
No longer was a game
And I remember that September
Like it was only yesterday
And my memory I can still see
The look you had in your eyes on that day
And the magic of
The first time we made love
Remembering that night brings me a rush
Which started out high and kept on going up
Our love's been flying since that time
But it's always that first night
That stands out in my mind
And if I need you
You were always there
You said you'd always care
But something's missing
That was there before
It's just not there anymore
You tell me not to worry
To remember what you said
But now those words
Have different meaning
Though I can still
Hear them in my head
You said you'd love me till the end of time
But if I'm reading all the signs right
The clock should start slowing down
Any day now
Cos the end of time is in sight
Any day now the sun will go out
And the stars will all turn gray
And life on Earth as I know it now
Will just fade away
The last thing I needed was you
You and your stubborn mind
And your different point of view
You and your ways of doing
Things I don't even do
The last thing I needed was you
The last thing I wanted to find
Was someone to come
Along and make me change my mind
You turned my whole world
Into something new
The last thing I wanted was you
But that shows you what I know
About the way my heart goes
I thought our love would never grow
Well that shows you what I know
The things in life that can't be explained
Either bring you joy or they bring you pain
I was sure that you and I
Would never make it through
The last one I thought I'd love was you
All I ever needed was you
I do appreciate you comin' here
To check up on me and see how I am
Yeh what you heard is true I screwed up
She left me and now I'm alone
In your opinion she was the best thing in my life
You think I should do
Whatever it takes to make it right
Tell me something
Tell me something I don't know
Show me a better way
A better way to go
Help me get it right
Don't just offer me the same old advice
Tell me something
Tell me something I don't know
I do appreciate you tellin' me
How great she was and how dumb I am
But I need to think about what I can do
Not talk about what I have done
Let me say right here
That I agree with you
But we've said all this before
Tell me something new
Lot of people have to go 'round
Provin' their love for each other
Always havin' to show the way that they feel
As for us we're happy to know what we feel inside
But sometimes if we don't show it, it's no big deal
I love a sunny day
I love to share my life away
We get along so well with each other
I love a sunny day
And I love to share and come what may
We're gonna spend the rest of our lives together
I like the way we go together
But I could do with out your mother
But I take it if that's the way it's gotta be
I really like the way you look
And I love to eat the food you cook
I don't mind it if you're taller then me
We used to have our ups and downs
But now we have a little friend around
She never lets us stay down very long
If it looks like rainy skies
All we do is look in her eyes
And then our minds start singin' a happy song
I've known her since we both were kids,
I recall the silly things we did
She would want to ride up on my back
To keep from stepping on a crack
I didn't think of it back then
But even when she did not win
She was happy just to play
Stoney likes to live out everyday
Stoney, happy all the time
Stoney, live is summertime
The joy you find in living everyday
Stoney, how I love your simple ways
The times when no one understood
Seems that Stoney always would
We walk for hours in the sand
She would always try and hold my hand
Now I don't recollect the time
I fell in love with this old friend of mine
Or when I first saw in her eyes
What she tried so hard to hide.
I don't know who picks our time to go
Only wished that we had years to grow
And even if there's nothing they can do
Stoney girl at least I once had you
I know I'm a grown man
With a life of my own
I packed up and I left you
I call another place home
But sometimes being grown
Is a hard thing to do
That's the time I start thinking of you
So come and sing me a love song
Like you used to do
I just need a love song
To see me through
We can sit in the back yard
In our old white swing
I know I'll feel better
The moment you start to sing
That's the time my worries leave me
For awhile
That's the time once again I'm a child
A lot of things change
As we grow old
Some things we buy up
And others are sold
But one thing won't change
No matter what I do
That's the way I feel
I don't have to try to love you
I just happens naturally
I don't close my eyes to touch you
Cause I don't have to make believe
When I'm with you darling
The feeling's just too much
Spendin' time makin' love and going crazy
Every time going out of my mind over you
Spendin' time makin' love and going crazy
With you
I keep on falling for your love songs
Cause you keep singing something new
I don't need a secret lover
Cause love begins and ends with you
Dear I thought I'd drop a line
The weather's cool the folks are fine
I'm in bed each night at nine
And P.S. I love you
Yesterday we had some rain
But all in all I can't complain
Was it dusty on the train
And P.S. I love you
Write to the Browns
As soon as you're able
They came around to call
I burned a hole
In the dinning room table
Let me see I guess that's all
Nothing else for me to say
And so I'll close but by the way
Everybody's thinking of you
And P.S. I love you
I can't recall the color of her eyes
But I remember the way she said goodbye
I wouldn't know her voice now if she called
I hardly ever think of her at all
But sometimes if the moon is just right
I think of her in the middle of the night
And I remember things I swore that I'd forget
And then I drive her right out of my mind
Sometimes
I think maybe her hair was soft and brown
I do know that she turned my whole world upside down
Hey I don't need her any how
And I don't miss her too much now
Sometimes when things are perfect
I forget the way that we were
And sometimes a whole minute passes by
That I don't think of her
Just Because We Don't See Each Other Anymore
That Don't Mean That I Don't Care
Just Because We Can't See Things Eye To Eye
That Don't Mean There's Nothing There
Never Think I Don't Still Love You
Cause I Do Yes I Do
Never Think I Don't Still Love You
Cause I Do
We Were Close Together For So Long
Then Our Life Just Started Going Wrong
I Hurt You And You Hurt Me
But We Just Need Some Time To See
What We Need For Us To Get Along
You Are The Only Man I'll Ever Need
But I Just Need Some Time For Me To Breathe
I Love You And You Love Me
But For Now Let's Let It Be
There's One Thing That I Hope That You Can See
Well it's another one of those nights
The rain is falling down out side
You want to be with someon special
You want to get away and hide
You feel all depressed and lonely
Like that rain on the roof above
You think you're missing someone
You once knew
But what you're missing is
Someone to love
Someone to love someone to love
What you're missing is someone to love
Someone to love someone to love
What you're missing baby
Is someone to love
So you go out and you go cruising
And you meet some guy in a bar
And he takes you home and he loves you
But that don't take you very far
Cos when the thrill is gone
You get restless
So you take your things and go on home
But when you get there you feel all empty
Cause you know that you're still alone
Without someone to love someone to love
What you're missing is someone to love
Someone to love someone to love
What you're missing now
What you're missing baby
Is someone to love
Someone to love
Someone to love someone to love
What you need is someone to love
Someone to love someone to love
What you need baby what you need
What you need is someone to love
I used to think that I wrote the book
On the ways of love and what it took
To heat up a lady's heart
And make a flame burn
But in your arms, I'm a school boy again
So teach me 'bout love from beginning to end
The way you kiss
I know I've got a lot to learn
Baby, take it slow 'cause I'm a slow learner
It might even help if you show me twice
Baby, take your time 'cause I'm a slow learner
I want to love you right if it takes all night
I can learn anything by heart
So just show me where you want to start
We can burn the midnight oil
All night long
I want to know it all before I'm through
How can I fail with a teacher like you
What we started tonight
Could go on and on
I went away one day,
Not a word did I say,
Searchin' for a place in the sun
A pretty face in a place
Brought me nothing by disgrace
I'm a put down son - of - a - gun
I'm a shot down honcho half the way home
Standin' here a waitin' for a ride, ride, ride
I'll take a car or truck a motor scooter or a bus
I got to get home to your side, side, side
I got to get home to your side
How did I know when I go
That the feelin' would show
And you really would miss your old man
I got no pay or a way
To get to you today
So hold on as long as you can
I'm just a shot down honcho half the way home
Standin' here a waitin' for a ride, ride, ride
I'll take a car or truck a wheel barrow or a bus
I got to get home to your side, side, side
I got to get home to your side
A burly bear in a chair
Tells me to cut my hair
If I expect to get a ride
Why have no fear I don't hear
Put it in your ear
'Cause I ain't got nothin' to hide
I tried to wait until the perfect moment
To let her know that I'd be going
And to break it to her the best I could
She sat there in a stony silence
I got the feeling she was feeling like I was
But I wasn't feeling like I thought I would
It was hard enough to find the nerve to tell her
And even harder yet to face her eye to eye
But the thing that hurt the most
Was the tears never fell
The hardest part about leaving her
Was she took it too well
I was leaving something that was already gone
I was a fool guess I should've known
That something else was going on
I just know things could have been better
And I was hoping leaving might put it together
But I guess I waited way too long
She smiles and takes my hand so gently
Then orders me around so confidently
It makes my knees start to shake
It's more than I can take
'Cause every now and then I get the feelin'
She knows something that I don't
She knows something that I don't know
The look I see in her eye you know it scares me
It seems she's lookin' my way and seein' right through me
It makes my mind go to sleep
To know I'm in so deep
I know I'd do most anything she asks me
I guess that's just love and that's the way it should be
It makes me happy inside
But she's got somethin' to hide
Your love was an island
When I felt a storm
Reaching out to shelter me
And keep me warm
Baby, I wanted more
You set me free and let
Me just drift away
Though I know it hurts you
Never once asked me to stay
Baby, I wished I'd stayed
Baby it's so cold and lonely
In the wind
Open up your heart
Let me back in
Everything without you's
Not enough
Pick me up and carry me back
To the sanctuary of your love
I feel like a ship
Just outside the bay
I've never been so close and
Never felt so far away
Baby what will you say
I stopped off at a road house down in
Mobile Alabama
The smoke was thick and the crowd was kinda thin
But the backup band was jamin'
When out on the stage she came in a rage
It was a red head darlin' blue
When she hit that mic she let out a wail
And the whole place came unglued
And I said Rock Me Baby In the name of the blues
Slide over here Let me get into your groove
Baby if you know the chords, I got all the moves
So Rock Me Baby, In the name of the blues
I made my way to the bandstand
And I set myself down at her feet
She was making sweet love to that slide guitar
Like she was making sweet love to me
Now I have been in love with the girl next door
And a woman with a fancy car
But there's nothing in the world
Like the heart of a girl
That knows how to play guitar
I've seen a lot of things change in many ways
Since I was a boy back in the rock and roll days
Back when a bust was a six-pack of cold beer.
Marciano, he was champ the band all played through one amp
And the biggest thing was getting rubber in second gear
I love the rock and roll days
And I love all the good old ways
We used to do things in our crowd
I love the rock and roll days
And I love all the good old ways
We used to do the same things that we do now.
The only bikes back there were Schwinns
The only pigs were the bad wolf's friend
And going to the outdoor movie was something neat
Messing around then was not big
That's the one thing I did not dig
I was lucky to get as far as the back seat.
If I listened long enough to you
I'd find a way to believe that it's all true
Knowing that you lied, straight-faced, while I cried
Still I'd look to find a reason to believe
If I gave you time to change my mind
I'd find a way to leave the past behind
Knowing that you lied, straight-faced, while I cried
Still I'd look to find a reason to believe
Someone like you
Makes it hard to live without
Somebody else
Someone like you
Makes it easy to give,
Going to San Francisco
To live my life away
Had to search for 15 years
To crash for just a day
I needed my revival
But I guess it never came
You know the summer brought the winter
And they both forgot my name
Reaching out for someone
Tell me what more can I say
Are you going my way
Wasted in Sausalito
A revelation came
I guess I could make it
But I won't play the game
Great God Almighty's gone
And he never even cried
And if you don't believe me
Then I want you by my side
Traveling on this mountain
I'll tell you what I see
I thought I saw Methuselah
Coming on down to me
Well I looked right up the rail road line
And I hear the rumblin' roar
I reached down in my pocket
Whenever you are down in Tijuana
I'll tell you who you should go to see
The man who can tell you what is happening
Pee-ro Juan Valdez Sam Quixote.
Ask Pee-ro about his friend Rosita
And if he should tell you you'd better not
Ask how is his sister Juanita
The line he'll give is man you ask a lot.
Oh oh ask Pee-ro
Oh oh ask Pee-ro
Oh oh ask Pee-ro
Oh oh ask Pee-ro
If ever you should feel a little down
Wait til Dr. Pee-ro comes around
He will give you something that will help
Don't be ashamed old friend
We gave it our best try
We came as close as we could get
To makin' it this time
Something like this calls for celebration
So get on the phone and make a reservation
I'll put on my fancy evening dress
And slip into my dancin' shoes
We're gonna make the most of this mess
And paint the town blue
We'll dance all night long
Like we used to do
And we will make believe that
All our dreams are coming true
Everyone will think
We're out for a good time
Little will they know
We're out for the last time
I left California crossed through Arizona
And the desert of New Mexico
Up through Colorado through the mountain shadows
With Denver on the radio
Out of Kansas City heading for St. Louis
Crossed the Mississippi today
I got tickets in my pocket
From flying like a rocket clear across the USA
Hear the wheels a hummin'
Baby I'm coming home
All I see is your face
Dancing in the headlights glow
I'm an overnight rider
Burining up the miles that are keeping us apart
I'm an overnight rider
Rolling down the highway to your heart
Halfway through Kentucky
Thought that I got lucky found someone to help me drive
She wake me in Atlanta said I'm home now thank you
Mister you're a heck of a guy
Crossed the Carolina's trying to make the time up
Smoking up ninety five
From Richmond to Philly the trip nearly killed me
Now I see the New York City lights
Lonely, I've been so lonely
Not a trace of love around
Just a solitary shadow
Empty, I've been so empty
With no one to share my dreams
And no one to share my pillow
But now it's over
All the long and lonely nights
Are finally over
Since you came into my life
And now I'm over
All the hurt and the loneliness
And all of the hours
I spent talking to myself
Are finally over
Wonder, sometimes I wonder
How I ever got this far
Without your love beside me
So long, I've waited so long
For someone to finally be
The missing part of me
Our day will come
And we'll have everything.
We'll share the joy
Falling in love can bring.
No one can tell me
That I'm too young to know
I love you so
And you love me.
Our day will come
If we just wait a while.
No tears for us -
Think love and wear a smile.
Our dreams have magic
Because we'll always stay
In love this way
Our day will come.
When I looked up and saw you there
All I could do was to sit and stare
Cos after the way we saw it all end
I never thought I'd ever see you again
It seems we got our priorities mixed
And that's how we got our self's in this fix
Too concerned with what was going on around us
Back when we didn't care we didn't fuss
After it all is said and done
Being apart just ain't no fun
It's all so clear in my mind
Being in love was our best time
So lets back it up get all straight
All petty things will just have to wait
Let's put the horse back in front of the cart
What's between me and you
Is the important part
I saw her smiling at me
From somewhere across the bar
She looked good from where I sat
Of course it was quit dark
She sat down and told me
Who she was and where she'd been
It seemed she knew me long ago
I said here I go again
I learned more about her
Than she ever should have told
Before too long I knew
That this was someone I could hold
We both had had so much in life
That always turned out wrong
Something deep inside me said
The odds are much too long
Two sad and lonely people
Half way down the road
Two souls who need to share
Half the other's load
We both knew the riddle
We just couldn't find the rhyme
Two who will love
Just one more time
When you've been there so many times
It don't take long to know
All about each other
And which way the things would go
And even know we both had crashed
So many times before
We both felt that all those times
Were what is was all for
I walked out and left you standing there
In your quiet way you were so strong
You took it all in stride
And turned your life around
But when it turned around
I was just alone
Now I know how it feels
I know how it feels
When the pain inside won't ease
And it drives you to your knees
When the one that you adore
Doesn't want you anymore
I know, now I know how it feels
I was there when you walked into the room
I wanted to go somewhere and hide
You and your new love
Looked so happy arm and arm
While I felt apart of me dying inside
When the one that you adore
Doesn't love you anymore
I know...now I know...how it feels
When I saw you with him today
You looked at me in that same old way
But he couldn't know
My eyes didn't show
The way I feel
The love that we knew
Was just a way
To bring him back to you
And knowing that it worked
Now that's what makes it hurt
Cos you'll never leave him now
He knows for sure you had a lover
But he never wants to know
Who it was
You told him it was just
A casual affair
Just a way to bring him home
No one will ever know
But your lover
How much in love with
Your lover you were
Or how much your lover
Is still in love with you
No one will ever know
No one will ever know
Now baby at night
When he's holding on to you tight
In the dark when he can't see
Do you ever think of me
I guess I'll never know
Just about a year ago, I set out on the road,
Seekin' my fame and fortune, lookin' for a pot of gold.
Things got bad, and things got worse, I guess you will know the tune.
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
Rode in on the Greyhound, I'll be walkin' out if I go.
I was just passin' through, must be seven months or more.
Ran out of time and money, looks like they took my friends.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
The man from the magazine said I was on my way.
Somewhere I lost connections, ran out of songs to play.
I came into town, a one night stand, looks like my plans fell through
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
Mmmm...
If I only had a dollar, for ev'ry song I've sung.
And ev'ry time I've had to play while people sat there drunk.
You know, I'd catch the next train back to where I live.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again
Hey you on the hill
Take the time if you will
To read my note
I'm not very smart
But it comes from the heart of me
I know this world is real complicated,
And my idea may be out dated
But it's the only thing
That makes any sense to me
Love works every time
When everything fails
Love brings it in line
Love works it's tested and true
The one thing I know bout this earth
Love works
Must the world shake apart
Before all of our hearts
Beat together?
We'll argue and fight
To prove we are right
And that's all wrong
The one thing I see in every instance,
Love is the path of least resistance
It's the only thing
That makes any sense to me
I come to your land a stranger
You made me feel at home
You open up your arms and gave me warmth
I never felt alone
You won my heart forever
With your gentle friendly ways
So with love I send to you my friends
This song from far away
With love to you Taiwan from one
Who always will be thankful to you
Music's what I live and it's all that I can give
With love to you Taiwan
The beauty of your island is more than you can see
You stood up for what was right you had to be free
Good friends are forever that's how it's always been
Words reach out with quiet doubts but music makes us friends
I've heard about what hurricanes can do
I've seen the power of a cyclone too
But that's nothing close to what I see
When you look at me
There's something coming we both know
A force of nature we can't control
Like an avalanche down a mountain side
You can run but you can't hide
Just like lightening from a clear blue sky
Or distant thunder on a starry night
Just like a storm rolling in from the sea
Love is approaching you and me
And it's just something that's gonna be
Once it's in motion it's a tidal wave
Love is on the way - love is on the way
Caught up in a tide we can't turn back
I guess we better just face the facts
This feeling that we're stirring up
Is bigger than the both of us
I lay in the dark on your side of the bed
And the smell of your body drives me out of my head
I keep thinking any minute I feel you moving around
Not a sound - Not a sound
It don't make much sense try to figure it out
Why you ran away or what it's all about
I don't make a difference it won't change a thing
Not a thing - Not a thing
I can take you're not here right now
And I'll know I'll get through this night somehow
I can make myself believe that this is the end
But I couldn't take losing you again
Everywhere that I look it's you that I see
But it's my memory playing tricks on me
I see something move and I look around
There's not a sound not a sound
A heart should only have to die one time
And baby you know where I lost mine
And if you let me come back to you
Baby I don't know what I do
There's nothing like the day love begins
You can't wait to be with her again
The same old things seem brand new
Cause you know she wants to be with you
Love's brand new
You hold her hand or touch her face
You can feel your heart begin to race
You try to think your mind leaves you
To be with her is all you want to do
Love's brand new
If you can keep the feeling that you feel today
Not let it slip away into the night
When you light the fire of love build it right
Keep it burning bright
Keep the feeling with you
Like love's brand new
Time goes by you still feel the thrill
There's comfort in knowing you always will
With ups and downs in everything you do
The first day in love stays alive in you
Like love's brand new
When days come along and
Everything goes wrong
I lie awake at night and think
About things in my life
If I hadn't said some of the
Things that I said
If you hadn't done some of the
Things that you've done
Could it have been better than
It is now
When you move in your sleep
And pull on the sheet
And mover up next to me baby,
That's all that I need to know
Life doesn't get any sweeter
Than this
Love is the word at the top of
Our list
We can climb every mountain
And wish every wish
But baby life doesn't get any
Sweeter than this
What do you have if you have
It alone
What good is a house if it's not
A home
How can you share when
There's nobody there
How can you care when
There's no one to care about
I been playing hide and seek
Not knowin what I'm after
I couldn't tell you who was it
I just heard the laughter
I been playin' different hands
Not knowin' how to win
It seems I'm knocking on my door
But never gettin' in
Let's have a hand for Susanne
She showed me what you play the games for
Ring the bells for the land
I want to tell the people what to look for
Ah hah let's have a hand for Susanne
Ah hah let's have a hand for Susanne
I been wondering in a maze
Made up by a genie
Just as lost as Alice was
I thought I was Houdini
Susanne said hey listen friend
Now would you like to play
I don't know the rules myself
But we can find a way
What you came here to say,
You said
The time you had alone got it
All straight in your head
This is the time you said you'd
Choose
I guess I loose
Now the truth has settled in
My heart
To watch you walk away is
Gonna be the hardest part
So don't just turn around
And leave
Do one last thing for me
Please let me leave you
What difference would it
Make no one will ever know
Please let me leave you
Then I won't have to watch you go
It's gonna hurt us both I know
But at least you've got
Somewhere else to go
When you leave I'll be alone,
Just alone
Let me down easy
Let me down slow
Let me down easy
If you're gonna go
Bring me down slowly
Then let me off low
Let me down easy
If you're gonna go.
You had me way up in the air
But you were there to see me through
You had me way above the trees
Now you're leaving me
But I ask of you
I could do without you here
If I had a year before you go
Like the wind I'll drift around
Sittin' here, wonderin' if I've done
The right things in my life
Maybe I should a had a job
Bought a house, and made you my legal wife
When I think of the load,
I start seein' the road,
Then I see the light,
And I know we did right
I've got you and you've got me
We've got something most people need
I've got you and you've got me
We've got out love and our life is free
Late at night when you're sleepin' I toss
And make up things in my head
Even tho' you're sleepin' on the ground
With me are you dreamin' of your feather bed?
Then you move in your sleep
Your hand touches my cheek
I feel love in your touch
I know you're happy enough
Sooner or later we're gonna make the move
People think we should
Maybe we already have our thing
That's something between me 'n you
Let them think what they will
Baby, we're happy still
Lovin' ev'ry new day
We found our own way
I never had much money
I never won a race
My jokes don't end up funny
And I've had doors slammed in my face
But I think you've charmed me
I always hoped that someone would
I never had a love like this before
I never had it so good
I'm not the kind that's trusted
Always tripping over logs
And often I've been busted
Chased by friendly dogs
But I think you've charmed me
I always hoped that someone would
I never had a love like this before
I never had it so good
I'm so tired of being so alone
So scared I'm sick inside
I long to see my home
On yellow river
I don't know why I love you like I do
I don't know why I just do
I don't know why you thrill me like you do
I don't know why you just do
You never seem to want my romancing
The only time you hold me
Is when we're dancing
I don't know why I love you like I do
I don't know why I just do
They tell me you are back in town
Looking good and looking around
Acting just a little strange
Like something inside you has changed
They say you're asking about me
Am I well and am I free
And would I take you back again
Well this is how it is old friend
I don't want to want you any more
I don't want to need you like I needed you before
I don't want to love the way you love
I don't want to want you any more
Those sleepless night's I lay like stone
Knowing you were not alone
Hurt me in so many ways
All that's left for me to say
I had decided there was not much I believe in
I tried it all and nothing much appealed to me
I'd had my kicks my thrills my way ups and my way downs
My life was all the same then you walked up to me
You only asked me that I love you like you love me
But I heard that before I still did not believe
But as the time went by I felt myself start changing
Now I believe in things my mind could never see
I believe in beauty in the trees
I believe in life when a puppy breathes
I believe in music when I hear a song
That children sing
I believe in helping if I see fear
I believe in crying when I feel a tear
I believe in love when you are near
I believe in everything
I miss so much in life because I rush right through it
You slowed me down enough to make me see the way
The love you gave me slowly opened up my blind eyes
What I never saw for years I see every day
Love is a toy to a boy
Wind it up,
It runs down
Wind it up
it...
In the north there's a great big city
Eight million people or so
This was at one time a happy place
But that was long ago
Kids playing ball in the street
Smiles a part of the game
The bars were filled with laughter and fun
And colors seemed the same
Happy days in New York city
Happy days in New York city
In those days
Then like a plague it happen
People didn't laugh anymore
And bars were scenes of brawls and fights
And no one cared anymore
Riots in all of the schools
The garbage blocked out the light
Skies were gray, a stayin' that way
And teachers voting to strike
Bad days in New York city
Bad days in New York city
I those days
But today in New York city
The people are smiling a lot
And it's all because of the group of guys
Who used to loose a lot
Now it took eight years to do it
And they don't know what they've done
For the city's beginning to smile again
The Mets have finally won
Happy days in New York city
Happy days in New York city
In these days
Together for just one moment
Business men, soul brothers and nuns
And all because of such a simple thing
Can't this feeling live on
Always younger than the rest
They would put me to the test
Pay your dues and don't complain
They're just growing pains
High school beauties look so fine
They were always on my mind
Nearly drove me up the wall
Couldn't deal with them all
Some more growing pains
I remember it as if it only happened yesterday
On the outside looking in - I was lonely
Didn't know where to begin - always lonely
Waiting for the light to shine
I was only killing time - growing pains
Well it was love at last I thought
Then she wore the ring I bought
But she wanted balls and chains
Talk about growing pains - those old growing pains
This old world keeps turning round
And there's no way to change the flow
Everyone will get to know
Their share of growing pains
It was on the stretch between Mobile and New Orleans
The sun was in my face and I was feelin mean
The sign she held in the air just read 'Anywhere'
Long brown hair and eyes that stare
A face that told a story
Her head was free she had the world to see
She said her name was Glory
That's how it was with Glory
I didn't see any harm in givin' her a ride
I'd been happy for years and I'd never had a thing to hide
I told her 'bout the things I like most
Some how she ended up close
In the mornin' when I woke up I saw her note
Held by a flower in the button home of my coat
'Friend I hope you can see what love means to me'
I met him one day in the Rockies
Where the night air tasted like wine
The winter was hard and had me starving
When the two of them found me in time
Then one night I crashed north of Reno
I'd been on the road too long
Then I woke to the warmth of her fire
And the sweet welcome home of his song
It was the California Kid and Remo
Lending me a helping hand
It was the California Kid and Remo
Teaching me to love
And teaching me to live off the land
I thanked them and headed for Oregon
The trees were the walls of my home
But the rain soaked my bones every morning
And the chill made me feel more alone
And just when I thought I should end it
The world didn't need men like me
My mind heard the song of my two friends
And the sun started shining on me
If the time should ever come
That you feel our race is run
And you're old brass bed's the only
thing that we share
If you think our ships come in
Let's just break it off my friend
Cause nothings worse than playing like you care.
There's nothing that's so final about leaving
Even though I know that's what you've heard
Just like forgive, forget and try again
Goodbye is just another word.
If you feel the time is right
And you sneak off in the night
And live out all those stories in your head
When your shiny knight goes home
And you're left there all alone
Messed around I'd had enough
Lost control I was all shook up
Yesterday was on my mind
When I came to you laid it on the line
Baby I was pushed right to the edge
What came over me I lost me head
If you think what I said was aimed at you
Well that couldn't be much further from the truth
Now baby you know how good you are
At bringing me back when things go too far
You're the last I want to do this to
But you're the first that I come to
I'll admit that I was wrong
I pushed too hard I came on too strong
If you think what I said was aimed at you
That couldn't be much further from the truth
I confess there's one thing baby I am guilty of
As much as I don't want to I hurt the one I love
I was pushed right to the edge
What came over me I lost my head
If you think what I said was aimed at you
Yes I'll admit that I was wrong
I pushed too hard I came on too strong
If you think what I said was aimed at you
That couldn't be much further
That couldn't be much further from the truth
Ever and ever forever
And ever you'll be the one
That shines on me
Like the morning sun
Ever and ever forever
And ever you'll be my spring
My rainbows end
And the song I sing
Take me from my own imagination
You're my dream come true
My consolation
Ever and ever forever
And ever you'll be my dream
My symphony
And my lover's theme
Ever and ever forever
And ever my destiny
Will follow you eternally
Lying there beside me
With your head resting on my arm
Your body feels so warm
And your hair smells
Like a Sunday morning
I feel you moving closer
And I know what you're gonna say
But girl there's just no way
I'll ever like what you'll be saying
Don't tell me goodnight
It makes me feel so empty inside
And if only I could
I wouldn't sleep at all
Don't tell me goodnight
Just let me drift off slowly away
And dream of you
You reach out and you touch me
Just to let me know you're there
And I can feel your hair
And somehow I don't
Too many people spend too much of their day
Looking over their shoulder
At what they did some other day
It may have been good
It may have been bad
Whichever way it's kinda sad
They can't learn to look some other way
Don't spend too much of today on yesterday
Cos you can't change the past anyway
Just love to live and live life today
Don't spend too much of today on yesterday
There are so many things to do that haven't been done
There are so many ways to go
That you don't have to run
So try on a few
And see how they fit
I think you'll find that they
Won't hurt a bit
Look at things you can do
Instead of what you have done
If you feel life has done you wrong
Just accept it and move on along
Today is too short it won't last
Live life now don't live in the past
(John Stewart)
I could hide 'neath the wings
Of the bluebird as she sings
The six o'clock alarm would never ring
But it rings and I rise,
Wipe the sleep out of my eyes
My shaving razor's cold and it stings.
Cheer up, sleepy Jean,
Oh what can it mean
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen?
You once thought of me
As a white knight on a steed
But now you know how happy I can be
So our good times start and end
Without dollar one to spend
Work all night on the drink a rum
Daylight come and me wanna go home
Stack banana till the morning comes
Daylight come and me wanna go home
Come Mr. Tally man tally me banana
Daylight come and me wanna go home
Come Mr. Tally man tally me banana
Daylight come and me wanna go home
Out of work I took a job as a
Hand on a boat
In a town called Matlache
On my first day off I was
Sitting drinking beer
At a bar called the dock of the bay
When in walked a woman
That every man eyed
But her eyes stayed right on me
The guy next to me he
Whispered real low
There's more to her than you can see
She comes from the back bay
Better stay away
She lives up on the back bay
And then he moved on away
Well she came and sat down
And the hours flew by
And the beer flowed just like the tide
The sun went down and the moon came up
And there was fire in her eyes
She took me for a ride in the white moonlight
In a boat like I've never seen
As the bay flew by the sky was alive
I was seeing things that I've never seen
She said you're going to the back bay
You're gonna see my ways
Cause there's magic on the back bay
You might even want to stay
Well I woke in the morning to
Her house boat rocking
Eye to eye with an old brown hound
There was fresh mullet frying
And strange birds crying
And no one else for miles around
I saw her standing there with
The breeze in her hair
I knew I never wanted to leave
I saw all my things around I
Knew she'd been back into town
And already mad the move for me
She said you're moving to the back bay
You're gonna see my ways
You're gonna love it on the back bay
And you're always gonna stay
Well I didn't plan this to happen
Cause you can't plan things like this
But the way we got along now
How could you knew what I miss
Everything you did was perfect
And everything I said was right
It just seemed kinda right
That you would spend the night
Every day this happens
You hear about it everywhere
You really don't believe it
But it just don't seem to care
How can things that move so quickly
Turn out to be so right
Baby don't you know that people
Fall in love at first sight
So don't be ashamed of you passion
And don't worry about the way that you feel
Think of all the people
Who never find anything real
They take so long to get together
That a piece of them is always apart
Well that's not for us baby
Cause we've been together from the start
You say you don't like
Where we call home
The way we live
Is bad and wrong
Travellin around instead
Of settling down
Our peace on mind
Is the highway sound
Another hill to climb
Another meal to find
A little air to breathe
That's all we need and we
Will be completely free
You say we don't care
What lies up ahead
There's money to save
Mouths to be fed
We're saving enough
To get away from this town
Lend us ten friend
We'll see you around
We don't see why
You're concerned about us
The way you worry friend
Got hang ups enough
Why not leave it all
And join us on the road
Life is beautiful
You must remember this
A kiss is still a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply as time goes by
And when two lovers woo
They still say 'I love you'
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings, as time goes by
Moonlight and love songs never out of date
Hearts full of passion, jealousy, and hate
Woman needs man, and man must have his mate
That no one can deny
It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will always welcome lovers as time goes by
(Lobo)
Today I looked down in the water
I saw a face look back at me
It hit me like a bolt of lightning
I may not like what I see.
Am I true to myself
Do I believe in what I do
Am I playing a role
Do I want to be like you
Or am I what I hate in others
Only seeing things my way
That's what I'm gonna ask myself today.
Do I really like my brothers
Do I like my hair so long
Do I try to think of others
Can I believe what's in my song
Do I think of all men equal
Or pretend I just don't see
Have I looked for good in others
Was it (just) my imagination
Just running away with me
I could have sworn she looked at him
The way she looks at me
Was I only hearing things
When she picked up the phone
Or did I really hear her say
'Don't call me at home'?
I'm losing sleep just wondering
If I'm losing her
Oh my head's just spinning round
And around and nothing's for sure
Am I going crazy
Or just out of her mind
Am I just seeing things
Or is she seeing some other guy
Lately it seems like
She don't need my time
Am I going crazy
Or just out of her mind
Is it me she's loving
When I'm holding her at night
I may not know what's wrong with us
But I do know things aren't right
If I'm only going crazy
I could live with that in time
But if she's really leaving me
(But if I'm really losing her)
I'll go out of my mind
It hardly seems a long time just a minute of the day
When the man who stood beside me more than gave himself away
The food stain on his spotted shirt a gray beard on his face
A man composed of many names so I just called him Ace
Ace can't read and Ace can't write and
He sleeps on a bench at night
A little man the world has left behind
He ain't bitter he ain't sweet
Makes his living on the street
Never knowin' what he's gonna find
Born in Mississippi pickin' cotton as a child
Left soon for the city where he heard that life was wild
That was fifty years ago when nothin's really strange
From a poor dirt farm to dirty streets is really not much change
Ace can't read and Ace can't write and
He sleeps on a bench at night
A little man the world has left behind
He ain't bitter he ain't sweet
Makes his living on the street
Never knowin' what he's gonna find
Go back to the country no he really can't do that
Wasted years have left him nothin' but an old straw hat
So he puts it on his head and waves a last good-bye
With no time left to turn around and no time to ask why
Ace can't read and Ace can't write and
He sleeps on a bench at night
A little man the world has left behind
He ain't bitter he ain't sweet
Makes his living on the street
Never knowin' what he's gonna find
This old world has left poor Ace behind
(Kent "Lobo" LaVoie)
I don't talk much
I don't have alot to say
So when it comes to a love life
It's hard to find a way
If it wasn't for bad luck
I'd have no luck at all
And so a woman like you
Backs me up to the wall
I feel like
A cowboy afraid of horses
Just like a sailor
Scared to death of the sea
Like a magician
With his hands tied behind him
That's how I feel
When you're around me
We go out somewhere
There are people staring at you
I feel strange inside
I don't know what to do
I never have had someone
Anyone else would want
But you handle it so well
(Lobo)
I know I owe you a better time
Then the way that I've been
But something's messing with my mind
And it's not giving in
They say that I should want to be
A man who leads us all
But every time I look I see
Another leader fall.
So I'm gonna sit in a green field
And fly a big red kite I'm gonna
Send my mind up the string and I'm
gonna get it right.
They say that I should want to have
A big bank account
What Uncle Sam don't take from me
Man I don't need to count.
They say that I should want to stand
For what I don't believe
I'm sitting thinking to myself
They're watching their kids
Watch their kids
Tearing open gifts
Hoping they remember everything
On everyone's list
Someone says hey grandma and grandpa
This ones for you
With a sparkle in their eyes
They get all excited
Like young children do
It's a big kids Christmas
For a grown up boy and girl
It's Jingle Bells and Silent Night
And Joy To The world
Deck the halls, O' Tanenbaum
And Oh Holy Night
It's a big kids Christmas tonight
And all the world is right
Grandpa says the blessing
As grandma bows her head
Dad now carves the turkey
And every one gets fed
Last night it was hard to sleep
Like so many years ago
So soon they're knapping on the couch
With Apple pie still left to go
It's a big kids Christmas
It's a big kids Christmas
And the worlds so right
I met him one day in the Rockies
Where the night air tasted like wine
The winter was hard and had me starving
When the two of them found me in time
Then one night I crashed north of Reno
I'd been on the road too long
Then I woke to the warmth of her fire
And the sweet welcome home of his song
It was the California Kid and Remo
Lending me a helping hand
It was the California Kid and Remo
Teaching me to love
And teaching me to live off the land
I thanked them and headed for Oregon
The trees were the walls of my home
But the rain soaked my bones every morning
And the chill made me feel more alone
And just when I thought I should end it
The world didn't need men like me
My mind heard the song of my two friends
When you get through
With what you thought
You had to do
You've realized you'd
Never find
That all important
Peace of mind
When you feel
You want to shout
That's freedom calling out
To You
Stand up
Face right
And walk away from it all
Walk away from it all
Walk away from it all
If what you're doing doesn't
Do it to you
Walk away from it all
If it seems the life you live
Doesn't have enough to give
And you feel it ties you down
And your brain begins to pound
The more you try to hurry
The more you have to worry
A leaf falls in a stream
And the timeless trip begins
When it gets to the sea
Then it's home again
When life gets to me
And I need some room to breathe
Like that gently floating leaf
Is how I need to be
If I close my eyes
I can drift away
And be back on that stream
So very far away
No matter where I go
On these dreams I'm going through
Like a leaf that finds the sea
Why does the sun go no shining
Why does the sea rush to shore
Don't they know it's the end of the world
Cause you don't love me anymore
Why do the birds go no singing
Why do the stars glow above
Don't they know it's the end of the world
It ended when i lost your love
I wake up in the morning
And I wonder
Why everything's the same as it was
I can't understand
No I can't understand
How life goes on the way it does
Why does my heart go on beating
Why do these eyes on mine cry
Don't then know it's the end of the world
Just about a year ago, I set out on the road,
Seekin' my fame and fortune, lookin' for a pot of gold.
Things got bad, and things got worse, I guess you will
know the tune.
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
Rode in on the Greyhound, I'll be walkin' out if I go.
I was just passin' through, must be seven months or more.
Ran out of time and money, looks like they took my
friends.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
The man from the magazine said I was on my way.
Somewhere I lost connections, ran out of songs to play.
I came into town, a one night stand, looks like my plans
fell through
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
Mmmm...
If I only had a dollar, for ev'ry song I've sung.
And ev'ry time I've had to play while people sat there
drunk.
You know, I'd catch the next train back to where I live.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
The dirty rain is falling
I hear the wind calling me away
The motel sign is flashing
And in my mind I'm crashing
What to say, what to say?
The words they start flowing
And passions started growing like years ago
The wine made my mind crazy
But now I'm not so hazy
I gotta go, I gotta go
Oh, the love we made today
It was just a foolish way
To try to bring back yesterday
There ain't no way
Yeah, the love we made today
It was just a foolish way
To try to bring back yesterday
There ain't no way
The dirty rain is falling
And in my mind it's calling me away
I'm staring at the ceiling
I can't let that feeling make me stay
I just can't stay
Yeah, the love we made today
It was just a foolish way
To try to bring back yesterday
There ain't no way
Yeah, the love we made today
It was just a foolish way
To try to bring back yesterday
There ain't no way
Yeah, the love we made today
It was just a foolish way
To try to bring back yesterday
There ain't no way
There ain't no way
Well I never saw a sunset
Or a tree
And I never heard a crow caw
Just for me
I was like a wheel stuck in a rut
Until I gave a chimpanzee a nut
I never saw a flower red and bright
I never saw the stars come out at night
Never liked Thanksgiving or Christmas
Time or my mind
Then I met you
Then I met you
Well I never saw the rain
Fall from the sky
And I never heard a cloud
Talk in my eye
I never saw the old man in the moon
And I've always hated Sunday afternoon
I never knew a baby had to touch
Because her world is not that much
I never really gave this life a chance at all
Then I met you
Then I met you
The words won't come out easy
And the time just drags on by
The fingers touch
But there is no feeling
And the eyes they can not lie
My thoughts are of leaving
Cos I lives is no longer real
The time has come
To face the music
And recognize the way I feel
I've reached the point
That it's time for me
To start it all over again
I may be going now
With nothing but my pride
But that's the way that I came in
That's the way that I came in
The hurt is way past hurting
And the tears have long since dried
Our love is no longer living
It is the time for good bye
That's the way that I came in
Sing the baby off to sleep
Turn off his Mickey Mouse light
Stand alone in the darkness
Prepare yourself for the fight
Across the ocean friends are dying
Here at home it's much the same
Don't cry now precious lady
You know you're not to blame
The sky was clean
And the trees were green
And the earth was a place of joy
I have no reason to check up on
Where you are all the time
We are so close it's almost like
You can read my mind
You know that I have no secrets from you
And I know that you have no secrets from me
We have a love that is built on trust
That's what we have you and me
I have never even once
Had to worry bout you
And that won't change as the years go
I've known her since we both were kids,
I recall the silly things we did
She would want to ride up on my back
To keep from stepping on a crack
I didn't think of it back then
But even when she did not win
She was happy just to play
Stoney likes to live out everyday
Stoney, happy all the time
Stoney, live is summertime
The joy you find in living everyday
Stoney, how I love your simple ways
The times when no one understood
Seems that Stoney always would
We walk for hours in the sand
She would always try and hold my hand
Now I don't recollect the time
I fell in love with this old friend of mine
Or when I first saw in her eyes
I promised you if you'd love me
That I'd never ever go
Want you to know now that I meant that
Just didn't know they'd need me so
My body's here in the city
But my soul is back at home
My people need my education
Pleading eyes won't leave my head alone.
So this is Running Deer running
To the home I left behind
This is running deer running
Before I run out of my mind.
I told you bout the reservation
And the way that I was raised
How my family never had much
Well now I've got some debts to pay
You were born here in the city
You've seen the hunger and the pain
My people lived like that for centuries
I've seen a lot of things change in many ways
Since I was a boy back in the rock and roll days
Back when a bust was a six-pack of cold beer.
Marciano, he was champ the band all played through one
And the biggest thing was getting rubber in second gear
I love the rock and roll days
And I love all the good old ways
We used to do things in our crowd
I love the rock and roll days
And I love all the good old ways
We used to do the same things that we do now.
The only bikes back there were Schwinns
The only pigs were the bad wolf's friend
And going to the outdoor movie was something neat
Messing around then was not big
That's the one thing I did not dig
When I was just a boy I was never told
Now son don't you listen
To that Rock and Roll
'Cause I was brought up by my Momma
And we were poor as dirt
And the music made us feel better
Everytime our stomachs hurt.
My Momma had soul
My Momma had soul
We may've not had a lot to eat
In the house
But we always had some music
That was playing real loud
My Momma had soul
My Momma had soul
When things were going bad
And the house got dark
Me and Momma'd sit on a bench
Out in the park
We'd hear the jukebox playing
In the corner bar
And the music made us dance and
Sing underneath the summer stars.
You know my Momma got older as
The years went along
But she never got so old
She couldn't dance
I've seen you use your pretty body
Like a lady of Kings Cross
I've watched your eyes flow
Like a fountain
'Cause your good friend might have lost
I've seen you hold your head in honor
Stand your ground, refuse to run
But I've never once seen
Your morning sun
I've seen you rage up like an ocean
Pushed on by an evil wind
I've seen you laugh
And beam like sunshine
Over some little thing I might send
I watched you keep
Your head about you
When weaker minds ahve come undone
But I've never once seen
Your morning sun
I've seen you turn up like a savior
When I needed someone near
I've heard you talk just like a sailor
When no one else was around to hear
I've held you close to me at nighttime
And felt our bodies breathe as one
But I've never once seen
She knows when I'm lonesome, she cries when I'm sad
she's up in the good times , she's down in the bad
Whenever I'm discouraged she knows just what to do
but girl, she doesn't know about you
I can tell her my troubles she makes them all seem right
I can make up excuses, not to hold her at night
we can talk of tomorrow
I'll tell her things that I wanna do
but girl, how can I tell her about you
how can I tell her about you
girl please tell me what to do
everything seems right whenever I'm with you
so girl won't you tell me, how to tell her about you
how can I tell her I don't miss her, whenever I'm away
how can I say it's you I think of every single night and day
but when is it easy, telling someone we're through
Ahh girl, help me tell her about you
how can I tell her about you
girl please tell me what to do
everything seems right whenever I'm with you
There you go and baby here am I
You left me here so I could sit and cry
Golly gee what have you done to me
I guess it doesn't matter anymore
Do you remember baby last September
When I held you tight each and every night
Whoops a daisy how you drove me crazy
I guess it doesn't matter any more
There's no use in me crying
I've done everything and I'm sick of trying
I've thrown away my nights
And wasted all my days
Over you
You go your way baby
And I'll go mine
Now and forever till the end of time
I'll find somebody new
And baby we'll say we're through
Trees are things that move
And tell you when the wind blows
Flowers are things that bloom
And tell you when the winter goes
Sand is a thing that tells you when
To empty your shoes
And I'm the only one you tell all this to
Ralph is your cat who tells you that
He's got to go outside
Jane is your friends who tells you when
You ought not to cry
I know boo she knows when you are
Feeling blue
But I'm the only one you tell all this to
I'm the only one you tell all this to
Fear is a word you hear
All alone in the dark
Fun is a day in the sun
With Ralph in the park
Happy's the time you find
A love that is true
And I'm the only one Kathy tells all this to
So long boy you can take my place,
Got my papers got my pay
So pack my bags and I'll be on my way
To yellow river
Put my guns down the war is won
Fill my glass high the time has come
I'm going back to the place that I love
Yellow river
Yellow river yellow river
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow river yellow river
Is in my blood it's the place I love
Got no time for explanation got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me
Sleeping underneath the moon at yellow river
Cannon fire lingers in my mind
I'm so glad that I'm still alive
And I've been gone for such a long time
From yellow river
I remember the nights were cool
I can still see the water pool
And I remember the girl that I knew
See me rising like the moon in the early evening
I hope you're proud of me girl
Watch me soaring like a bird in the early morning
I hope you're proud of me girl
You wanted me way up there in the air
And now that I'm there
I hope you're proud of me girl
See me flying like a cloud way up in the sky in
I hope you're prod of me girl
Watch me crashing like a fool who
don't know what he's asking
You go down to the river
To the Natches Kitty Kaw sign
There's a pine wood shack
Sittin' way in the back
Near the Hitchy Coochy
Railway line
There on a porch sits
Grandma Ditty and her old
Hound dog named Gus
Grandma picks on a banjo
And Gus he kicks up a fuss
That dog can dance
He can dance
Ah he can dance
He can dance your troubles away
Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
Now some say it's a miracle
But some say it's a case
Of the fleas
Some say it's because
He was raised on Granny's
Old home brew recipe
But he can two paw
Four paw
Tail wagging boogie
He can Rock an Roll it too
He can slip and slide
He can groove and glide
He's gonna pay your bills
And cure your ills
Once upon my boyhood time
The circus came to town
I remember church going people
Talking the carnies down
Misfits of society
That's what they said to me
So I sneaked up close
And watched them work
And found that actually
They laughed alot
They sang out loud
The way they walked
Made them look kinda proud
A little different from you
A little different from me
Alot like the man who walked
Through Galilee
Mr. and Mrs. Goldstein
Moved in next door to us
The neighbors were indignant
They put up quit a fuss
The neighborhood had gone to pot
And they had worked so hard
So I sneaked out back
Peeked through the fence
And watched them do the yard
They laughed a lot
They sang out loud
They looked just like the rest
Of the crowd
A little different from you
A little different from me
A lot like the man who walked
Through Galilee
Everyone is different
But everyone's the same
Riding around in circles
On life's mysterious train
What if other people
Thought that way of you
Too weak for the circus
Too dumb to be a Jew
A plain old Joe
In wash 'n' wear suit
Wasting his life away
Or do they look in envy
Well today I'm so weary
Today I'm so blue
Sad and broken hearted
And it's all because of you
Life was a sweet girl
Live was a song
But now you've gone and left me
Tell me where did I go wrong
And it's all for the love
Of a dear little girl
All for the love
That sets my life in a whirl
I'm a man who'd give his life
And the joys of this world
I hold your hand and feel your fingers shaking
I wonder what is going through your mind
The only sound we hear is each other breathing
And I can tell we're starting to unwind
You're starring at the painting by the window
And I know that your mind is far away
I reach for you and you move even closer
That makes it easy cos words are hard to say
Afterglow just keeps coming
Lying here with you
Afterglow my mind keeps running
Through a fantasy for two
We both know there's no other
Feeling that makes our love grow
Like love's afterglow
You turn now you're looking into my eyes
I see you like I never could before
I hear you making sounds that say I love you
Where do butterflies go when it rains?
Who goes around and tucks in the trains?
What makes a teddy bear like to sleep?
Why do we all make promises that we can't keep?
Where do puppy dogs go when their sad?
And what do elephants say when they're mad?
Who do you tell if you don't have a friend?
Why do we open our mouths and stick our foot in?
These are the things that bother me
Not a lot of things across some sea
I don't even have a master plan
I guess that I am just a simple man
Tell me where do robins sleep on the road?
And how can a little ant carry that load?
Why write words that we have to erase?
Why does everyone have more than one face?
These are the things that bother me
Not a lot of things across some sea
I don't even have a master plan
I guess that I am just a simple man
Heavenly shades of night are falling
It's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling
It's twilight time
When purple colored curtains
Mark the end of day
I'll hear you my dear at twilight time
Deepening shadows gather splendor
As day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender
The setting sun
I count the moments darling
Till your here with me
Together at last at twilight time
Here in the afterglow of love
We keep our rendezvous beneath the blue
Here in the same and sweet old way
I fall in love again as I did then
Deep in the park your kiss will thrill me
Like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me
With dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening
Just to be with you
Every night I hope and pray
A dream lover will come my way
A girl to hold in my arms
And know the magic of her charms
Cause I want
A girl to call my own
I want a dream lover
So I won't have to dream alone
Dream lover where are you
With a love that's oh so true
And a hand that I can hold
To feel her near as I grow old
Someday I don't know how
I hope she'll hear my plea
Some way I don't know how
She'll bring her love to me
Dream lover until then
I go to sleep and dream again
That's the only thing to do
This mornin’ when you kissed me
And got up out of bed
I moved into the very spot
Where you laid your head
I felt the warmth of your love move into me
And I knew you’re all I’ll ever need
As I lay there and I watched you
Getting ready for your day
The sunlight through the window
Put a glow upon your face
I felt your love spread out all inside of me
And I knew you’re all I’ll ever need
You are all I’ll ever need
Dearer than the air I breath
You’re everything that means a thing to me
You are all I’ll ever need
That’s what you are to me
You are love and you are life
You are... all I’ll ever need
Now I hear you makin’ coffee
And you call out actin’ sad
You say if I don’t get up now
That you just might get mad
But I hide my face underneath the sheet
And pretend to be asleep
Now you’re laughin’ as you jump on me
To tell me goodbye
Your hair smells just like sunshine
There’s that somethin’ in your eye
And the lovin’ words I know you’ll say to me
You’re all I ever need
You are all I’ll ever need
Dearer than the air I breath
You’re everything that means a thing to me
You are all I’ll ever need
That’s what you are to me
You are love and you are life
You are... all I’ll ever need
Oh, you’re all I’ll ever need
Dearer than the air I breath
You’re everything that means a thing to me
You are all I’ll ever need
That’s what you are to me
You are love and you are life
When I was young I had a dream
That I would meet someone like you
And we would have a happy home
If the world would leave us alone
So it came to pass it all came true
You needed me like I needed you
But the world kept moving on
And our life was changed by a song
Sometimes I wonder and I worry too
If I did not know how to sing
Would I still have you?
That's the time I wished
I'd never bought that first guitar
I'd be out somewhere in Oklahoma
Fixing cars
But maybe after my hard working
Day was through
I'd still have you
It's hard to have loving on your mind
With people lining up for it all the time
And the world I loved went floating by
Tonight you're mine completely
You give your love so sweetly
Tonight the light of love is in your eyes
But will you love me tomorrow
Is this a lasting treasure
Or just a moment's pleasure
Can I believe
The magic of your eyes
Will you still love me tomorrow
Tonight with words unspoken
You say that I'm the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night meets the morning sun
I'd like to know
That your love
Is a love I can be sure of
So tell me now
And I won't ask again
We'll be one by two toady
Won't you help us find a better way
Please make us feel that we are right
To want to come together tonight
We've come to ask your help my friend
Cos you know just how it's been
We've got a lot to ask of you
And you know that's hard for us to do
Won't you help us
Help us
Those before us tripped and fell
Even though they think they're doing well
We don't want to live a lie
And watch our love slowly die
Won't you help us
Help us
Even Though we've asked your help before
My mouth turned dry walking through your door
Till now nothing meant so much to me
Through you eyes sweet Lord I see
Won't you help us
He's five foot two and he's six feet four
He fights with missiles and with spears.
He's all of thirty one, and he's only seventeen,
He's been a soldier for a thousand years.
He's a Catholic, a Hindu, an Atheist, a Jain,
A Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew
And he knows he shouldn't kill
And he knows he always will,
Kill you for me, my friend, and me for you.
And he's fighting for democracy, he's fighting for the
Reds,
He says it's for the peace of all.
He's the one who must decide
Who's to live and who's to die,
And he never sees the writing on the wall.
But without him how would Hitler have condemned him at
Dachau?
Without him Caesar would have stood alone.
He's the one who gives his body as a weapon of the war,
And without him all this killing can't go on.
He's the universal soldier, and he really is to blame
His orders come from far away no more
They come from him, and you and me,
And brothers, can't you see,
Day-o, day-o
Here are songs everybody knows
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day-o
The Caribbean disco show
Work all night on the drink a rum
Daylight come and me wanna go home
Stack banana 'till the morning comes
Daylight come and me wanna go home
Come Mr. Tally man tally me banana
Daylight come and me wanna go home
Come Mr. Tally man tally me banana
Daylight come and me wanna go home
This is my island in the sun
Where my people have toiled since time begun
I may sail on many seas
But yours will always be home to me
Oh, island in the sun
Will to me by my fathers hand
All my days I will sing the praise
Of the forest waters your shining sand
Day, me say day-o
Here are songs everybody knows
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day-o

Coconut woman is calling out
And everyday you can hear her shout
Coconut woman is calling out
And everyday you can hear her shout
Get your Coconut water (Coconut)
Man is good for your daughter (Coconut)
Coco got a lot of iron (Coconut)
Make you strong like a lion (Coconut)
Down the way where the nights are gay
And the sun shines daily on the mountain top
I took a trip on a sailing ship
And when I reached Jamaica I made a stop
But I'm sad to say I'm on my way
Won't be back for many-a day
My heart is down, my head is turning around
I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town
Day, me say day-o
Here are songs everybody knows
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day-o
The Caribbean disco show
Judy drowned

Why-o Judy drowned
Judy drowned, Judy drowned

Angelina, Angelina
Please bring down your concertina
And play a welcome for me
'Cause I'll be coming home from sea
I say Angelina, Angelina
Please bring down your concertina
And play a welcome for me
'Cause I'll be coming home from sea
Day, me say day-o
Here are songs everybody knows
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day-o
The man spoke to the albatross
What a funny thing you are
The man spoke to the albatross
Why must you fly so far
Today the waves are no ones slaves
Tomorrow's waves may be
Do you believe in me
The man spoke to the nightingale
Your songs to wild and free
The man spoke to the nightingale
Ah but sing a song for me
Once my skies could fill your eyes
With rain and sympathy
Do you believe in me
The man spoke to the whitest dove
How can I gain release
The man then killed the whitest dove
And justly kept the peace
For I must cry and surely die
To keep the people free
Do you believe in me
Do you believe in me
I get through the day I go on
My own way
But I don't really know what to do
Night comes to pass and with it the past
And all of my past is you
And I'm still in love with you
I'm still in love with you
She hears my dreams she
Knows what they mean
But she must have dreams of her own
It's not that she means nothing to me
Or that I'd rather be alone
It's just that I'm still in love with you
I'm still in love with you
I'm back at the start chasing your heart
But only one part is true
I'm still in love with you
Yes I'm still in love with you
You call me at night to see if I'm alright
But you want to know if she's here
You don't want her here and
You don't want me there
Now baby do you still care
Could it be that you're still in love with me
You've been around for a long
long time;
I've seen you here before.
You'll meet some guy who really turns
And sneak out of the side door.
You'll never look my way I know
I ain' much to look at
But one of these nights you're goin' home with me
I'm gonna see to that.
Well
I'm just waitin' out my time
Standing at the end of the line
I got a lot of lovin' I'm savin' inside for you.
Yeah
I'm just waitin' out my time
Standing at the end of the line
But you're gonna know that you've been loved
When I get through lovin' you.
You looked right at me and smiled
One time just last week
And what one look from you did to me
It kept me in my seat.
But you picked another guy to entertain you that night
And I was left to entertain myself
So I got into a fight.
While
Ring, ring, telephone ring
Somebody said, ?Baby what you doin'?"
I've been wonderin' where you've been
Now and then I think about you and me
There's no use fightin' 'bout things we can't recall
It don't matter now at all, just come on home
Baby, we'll laugh and sing and we'll make love
And let the telephone ring
Ring, ring, doorbell ring, baby come on in
Got James Taylor on the stereo
I'm glad you came around, I've been feelin' down
Just talkin' to Tony and Mario
You know, they make good conversation
Still it ain't no consolation 'cause I got love
Baby I'll give you some and if somebody comes
We'll let the doorbell ring
Said, ring, ring, golden ring around the sun
Around your pretty finger
Ring, ring, voices ring with a happy tune
Anybody can be a singer
The sun come up across the city
I swear you never looked so dog gone pretty
Hand in hand we'll stand upon the sand
With the preacher man, let the weddin' bells ring
Hand in hand we'll stand upon the sand
With the preacher man, let the weddin' bells ring
Hand in hand we'll stand upon the sand
I know she's gone again
I saw her walking up the track
God only knows when she will be back
The only thing I know as sure as
Morning starts the day
When she comes home again
This is what they'll all say.
Recycle Sally coming round again
Recycle Sally we all know where you've been
Recycle Sally why can't the fools see
Recycle Sally Recycle Sally Recycle Sally
That you recycle to me.
Now Sally ain't about to start to get settled down
She likes to circulate herself all around town
She might get abused and crushed all out of shape
1. I remember to this day the bright red Georgia clay,
How it stuck to the tires after the summer rain.
Will power made that old car go; a woman's mind told me that it's so.
Oh, how I wish we were back on the road again.
chorus:
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
How I love bein' a free man.
2. I can still recall the wheat fields of Saint Paul,
And the mornin' we got caught robbin' from an old hen.
Old MacDonald made us work, but then he paid us for what it was worth,
Another tank of gas and back on the road again.
I'll never forget that day we motored stately into big L.A.
The lights of the city put settlin' down in my brain.
Though it's only been a month or so, that old car's buggin' us to go.
Little Joe they're out to get ya
Right or wrong they'll never let you go
And you know it's them or you
And since they swore
You'd never make it back alive
If they don't bring you down by 12
They're gonna bring you down by 5
Well you came straight out of Tucson
Such a man among the mice
She swore she's gonna marry you
Change your life to right
But you ain't about to settle down
For a hundred years or more
But you know she's right behind you
As your sneaking out the door
Little Joe she's out to get ya
Right or wrong she'll never let you go
Cos she knows it's you for her
And since she swore you'd
Never get away alive
If she don't bring you down by 12
She gonna bring you down by 5
Well you came straight out of Frisco
On a boat for Vietnam
And you try to justify it
Can you kill another man
And you swear you'll never fire a gun
But a bullet kills your friend
And you flip the safety off your gun
And get ready for the end
Well you came straight from Diego
With some medals and some stars
And you fight the war all over
In the honky tonks and bars
And a man who should know better
Tells you fighting is just for fools
And though you know he's right you kill him
Love is but a song we sing
And fear's the way we die.
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry.
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why.
C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try to love one another right now
Some will come and some will go
And we shall surely pass.
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last.
We are but a moment's sunlight
Fading in the grass.
If you hear the song we sing
You will understand.
You hold the key to love and fear
In your trembling hand.
Just one key unlocks them both
Many a tear has to fall
But it's all in the game
All in the wonderful game
That we know as love
You have words with him
And your future's looking dim
But these things
Your hearts can rise above
Once in a while he won't call
But it's all in the game
Soon he'll be there at your side
With a sweet bouquet
And he'll kiss your lips
And caress your waiting fingertips
When I wake up early in the morning
Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream
Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me
Leave me where I am - I'm only sleeping
Everybody seems to think I'm lazy
I don't mind, I think they're crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Till they find there's no need
Please, don't spoil my day, I'm miles away
And after all I'm only sleeping
Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time
Lying there and staring at the ceiling
When I saw you standing there
I about fell off my chair
And when you moved your mouth to speak
I felt the blood go to my feet
Know it took time for me to know
What you tried so not to show
Something in my soul just cries
I see the want in your blue eyes
G Am
Ref.:
Oh baby, I'd love you to want me
The way that I want you
The way that I should be
G Am
Oh baby, you'd love me to want you
The way that I want to
If you'd only let it be
Know it took time for me to know
What you tried so not to show
Something in my soul just cries
I see the want in your blue eyes
Ref.:
Oh baby, I'd love you ...
You told yourself years ago
You'd never let your feelings show
The obligation that you made
For the title that they gave
Ref.:
Sometimes when I hold you
You feel so far away
Though you try not to show it
To me it's as clear as day
Our bodies still move together
But something is just not there
And that's not fair
It's not fair
What we had was special
All the loving that we shared
And i don't want to end it
It took us to long to get here
Maybe time apart will bring back
The fire that we can't find
But till that time
I don't wanna make love to you
If you're not into it
Just the act of doing it
Is not enough anymore
I don't wanna make love to you
If we're not feeling it
If we're not meaning it
I don't wanna make love anymore
At times it feels so lonely
Being by myself
But I just can't imagine
Holding on to someone else
Cos after loving you girl
Something less would never do
I'll wait for you
I never wanted anyone before
Half as much as I want you
I finally found what I've been searching for
My whole life through
You're the answer to the prayers I've prayed
More than I've ever dreamed of
So I give to you my heart today
And pledge my eternal love
I'll be faithful, faithful till the end
I'm so thankful that heaven
Chose to send you
And this love will last forever
Forever I'll be true
And be faithful to you
You're my one and only one you see
There's just no one to compare
I'll hold and keep you close to me
Way beyond our golden years
Our two hearts will always beat as one
One thing you can know for sure
I promise that I'll never let you down
I used to wake up worrying
'Bout what I had done before
Instead of being happy with what I had
I was always looking for more
Had to make more bread
Had to get ahead of the people
Living next to me
But like a big Dumb Dumb
I was the one...
I was sticking it right to me
Well it took some time but I found my mind
And now I'm looking after myself
I found I can give in now
I have more friends
And friends are people who help
It's much more fun just being someone
Instead of trying to be someone great
I saw the light now I'm not uptight
I made it 'fore it was too late
And now I can't wait to wake up mornings
And look myself in the face
I like being right where I am
Not looking for some other place
I am what I am and I like what I am
And now my life feels right
I'm happy to say I found my way
I stopped sending flowers to your apartment
you said you weren't at home much anymore
I stopped dropping by without an appointment
'cause I'd hear laughter coming through your door
Sometimes late at night you'll still call me
just before you close your eyes to sleep
You make me vow to try and stop by sometime
baby that's a promise I can't keep
I love you too much to ever start liking you
so lets just let the story have an end
I love you too much to ever start liking you
so don't expect me to be your friend
I don't walk down through the village or other places
that we used to go to all the time
I'm trying to erase you from my memory
'cause thinking of you jumbles up my mind
I love you too much to ever start liking you
so lets just let the story have an end
I love you too much to ever start liking you
so don't expect me to be your friend
you always act so happy when I see you
you smile that way, you take my hand and then
introduce me to your latest lover
that's when I feel the walls start crashing in
I love you too much to ever start liking you
so lets just let the story have an end
I love you too much to ever start liking you
(Lobo)
She's been sitting over there all night
Staring back at me and now I'm up tight
I know Cecil's far away sitting in a rice paddy
But I can't help but think what good old Cecil could do
to me
So I'll just look at Cecil Jones old lady
She is such a pretty sight to see
I'll just look at Cecil Jones old lady
I wish she would not look back at me
I know that my thing with her could not last
But I'm sure that it would be a real blast
Now I don't pitty Mr. Jones
And I ain't hung up on no flag
But getting my head beat upon
Out of work I took a job as a
Hand on a boat
In a town called Matlache
On my first day off I was
Sitting drinking beer
At a bar called the dock of the bay
When in walked a woman
That every man eyed
But her eyes stayed right on me
The guy next to me he
Whispered real low
There's more to her than you can see
She comes from the back bay
Better stay away
She lives up on the back bay
And then he moved on away
Well she came and sat down
And the hours flew by
And the beer flowed just like the tide
The sun went down and the moon came up
And there was fire in her eyes
She took me for a ride in the white moonlight
In a boat like I've never seen
As the bay flew by the sky was alive
I was seeing things that I've never seen
She said you're going to the back bay
You're gonna see my ways
Cause there's magic on the back bay
You might even want to stay
Well I woke in the morning to
Her house boat rocking
Eye to eye with an old brown hound
There was fresh mullet frying
And strange birds crying
And no one else for miles around
I saw her standing there with
The breeze in her hair
I knew I never wanted to leave
I saw all my things around I
Knew she'd been back into town
And already mad the move for me
She said you're moving to the back bay
You're gonna see my ways
You're gonna love it on the back bay
On the advise of my friends
I took some time to get away
Over the oceans to forget her
And think a few days
How could I have known
How fast her memory would fade
But I got caught in the magic
Of a night so far away
Must be the light of the Asian Moon
Could be a song an old Asian Tune
Lovely dark haired ladies and the words they say
A late night sail on a moonlit bay
Could be the stars in the Asian Sky
That got me flying and feelin' so high
I never thought the hurt would heal so soon
Must be the light of the Asian Moon
That old moon cleared my mind
'Bout what's important to me
Now I want to live and love
Black boy in Chicago
Playin' in the street
Not enough to wear
Not near enough to eat
But don't you know he saw it
On that July afternoon
Saw a man named Armstrong
Walk upon the moon
Young girl in Calcutta
Barely eight years old
The fly's that swarm the market place
Will see she don't grow old
But don't you know she heard it
On a July afternoon
Heard a man named Armstrong
Walk upon the moon
River's getting dirty
The wind in getting bad
War and hate are killing off
The only earth we have
But the whole world stopped to watch it
On that July afternoon
Watched a man named Armstrong
Walk upon the moon
And I wonder if a long time ago
Somewhere in the universe
They watched a man named Adam
Hey baby, you're a beautiful lady
But I guess that you know it
You sure turn my head around
And I'm sure that I show it
If you'll take the chance on romance
When this dance is over
Maybe we could slide away
To a quieter place
This could be a day in the life of a love
That could last forever
How could we ever know until we try
This could be a day in the life of a love
That could last forever
We'll surly make it last till morning light
What cha saw baby
Does it so to crazy
Well I just had to say it
When my heart speaks to me
I have to obey it
Why don't you say yes
And we'll make the best
Of the rest of the night
But then again
Comin cuz I wanna hold you I wanna love you my baby
Comin cuz I wanna love you i wanna drive you love me crazy.
Comin cuz I wanna hold you I wanna love you my baby
[2x]
Myslim na teba Suzanna
Myslim na teba od rana
Ze jsi mi lasku nedalo
Lubim ta velmi Suzanna
Comin cuz I wanna kiss you
You know I miss you my baby
Comin cuz I wanna love I wanna drive you love me crazy
Comin cuz I wanna kiss you
Sunk a battleship
Flew with a bluebird
Sang a song with Frank
That everybody heard
My friend is here
My friend is here
My friend is here
Reached a miracle
Crossed a mountain
Ate a lunch with Christ
Stole a diamond
My friend is here
My friend is here
My friend is here
Have you met my friend my friend
He will take you in my friend
Have you met my friend my friend
He will take you in my friend
My friend is here
Got a raise to one
Stayed out until two
Quit before it was done
Not caring whether through
My friend is here
My friend is here
My friend is here
On the advise of my friends
I took some time to get away
Over the oceans to forget her
And think a few days
How could I have known
How fast her memory would fade
But I got caught in the magic
Of a night so far away
Could be a light of the Asian Moon?
Could be a song an old Asian Tune?
Lovely dark haired ladies and the words they say
A late night sail on a moonlit bay
Could be the stars in the Asian Sky
That got me flying and feelin' so high?
I never thought the hurt would heal so soon
Must be the light of the Asian Moon
That old moon cleared my mind
'Bout what's important to me
Now I want to live and love
And laugh that's all I need
Could be a light of the Asian Moon?
Could be a song an old Asian Tune?
Lovely dark haired ladies and the words they say
A late night sail on a moonlit bay (Save me, save me)
Could be the stars in the Asian Sky (Stars)
That got me flying and feelin' so high? (Stars in the sky)
I never thought the hurt would heal so soon
Must be the light of the Asian Moon
Could be a light of the Asian Moon? (Light)
Could be a song an old Asian Tune? (Could be a song)
Ooh, words they say
Save me, save me
Thumbing across Georgia I ran into Gloria
She seemed like a mystic to me
With a wave of the hand
She could make you feel grand
That was her mystery
Now I'll admit she knew a lot of tricks
But so do lots of other chicks
She didn't do it like you can do magic
She didn't do it to me
She didn't do it like you can do it
She didn't do magic to me
Hiking through Virginia I met Melinda
She looked enchanting to see
She said "Give me your arm
And I'll show you my charms"
That was her sorcery
I say it I will she had a lot of skill
But compared to you she was way down hill
She didn't do it like you can do magic
She didn't do it to me
She didn't do it like you can do it
She didn't do magic to me
Arriving in Cleveland I'm coming to see you
Get your crystal ball out of the drawer
'Cause I can tell if you been using you spell
And baby I know what for
The magic you loaned was to bring me home
And baby my love for you has grown
So you better do it like you can do magic
You better do it to me
'Cause she didn't do it like you can do it
She didn't do magic to me
No she didn't do it like you can do it
She didn't do magic to me
I wore the clothes you liked, you said they gave me that look
I even tried to like the food, I know you like to cook
I parted my hair on the left, I carried your arm on the right
I slept late in the morning and I stayed out late at night
I can't give any more of my soul away
And still look myself in the mirror everyday
I can't change any more of what makes me be myself
And still have enough left not to be somebody else
I'm not demanding as a man
Just asking you, love me for what I am
I tried hard not to say the things you don't like to hear
And when to you it was apropos, I nibbled on your ear
I opened the door up for you, I kept my big mouth shut
Well, I've been going down while you've been going up
I can't give any more of my soul away
And still look myself in the mirror everyday
I can't change any more of what makes me be myself
And still have enough left not to be somebody else
I'm not demanding as a man
Just asking you, love me for what I am
No, I can't give any more of my soul away
And still look myself in the mirror everyday
I can't change any more of what makes me be myself
And still have enough left not to be somebody else
I'm not demanding as a man
Just asking you, love me for what I am
You and I travel to the beat of a different drum
Oh, can't you tell by the way I run, every time you make eyes at me
You cry, and moan, and say it'll work out
But honey child, I've got my doubts
You can't see the forest for the trees
Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'd knock it
It's just that I, I'm not in the market for a girl who wants to love only me
And I ain't saying you ain't pretty, all I'm saying's I'm not ready
For any person place or thing to try and pull the reins in on me
So, goodbye, I don't believe and I see no sense
I knew you way before I ever met you
I pictured you before I saw your face
I know the things you do before you do them
You can't hide from me I'm every place.
I know more about you than you do yourself
I know what you're feeling in your heart
Don't go jiving me with all your crying
I got loving you down to an art.
You can't take the stars out of the night sky
You can't wear love off a wedding ring
I can't separate your love from life now
To me they are one and the same thing.
I know if you're joking or you mean it
I can tell if you aren't feeling well
I know what you need to keep you happy
I'm sure it might have grown old
Like most young things usually do
and dangling a line to try and find your mind
For that I can't blame you.
Now I'm not questioning your motives
For all the silly things you've done
Now you're coming round putting yourself down
Telling me I always was the one
It sure took a long time to miss me
A long time for you to come around
A long time to find what was wrong
It sure took a long, long time.
The magic that we had together
Seems so much stronger than before
What did I learn to make the love return
O girl I've got to learn some more.
It sure took a long time to miss me
A long time for you to come around
A long time to find what was wrong
It sure took a long, long time.
It took long, long time.
It took long, long time.
Late one night the midnight ghost rolled out of San Jose
We could hear the echo of the whistle across the bay
Gypsy said that he could hear
The freedom he couldn't see
I smiled and rubbed old Rex's head
I think he understood me
From the Hills of California
To the North Carolina coast
Gypsy saw the skies looking through my eyes
Riding on the midnight ghost.
Gypsy would grab my arm and ask what we were passing by
I'd describe the Rio Grande and the redwood In the sky
Now we never talked about the time my mistake took away his sight
Gypsy had accepted that he said Rex makes it alright.
We made friends in every state that's real important to me
Gypsy and Rex would have a home if something should happen to me
But I know the only thing that would bring old Gypsy down
Desdibujar la cordura
Entregado al delirio que me inflama
Sin ningun tipo de atadura
Cuando el odio es libre... es una llama.
Oh! Catarsis...
La deliciosa crueldad...
El perverso placer de perder la razon.
Morder la mano que acaricia...
Este enfermizo corazon
Rasgarme la carne con las uñas
Hasta no sentir dolor.
La saliva hierve
Arde entre los dientes
Presagios de la bestia al renacer.
Oh! Catarsis...
Morder la mano que acaricia...
Este enfermizo corazon
Rasgarme la carne con las uñas
