"And I" is a song written by the American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single in August 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.[citation needed]
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were relatively poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from Goodies. The single failed to chart on the Billboard Rhythmic Top 40, Top 40 Mainstream and Pop 100. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.

Prior to the release of his debut album, Stephens' career gained momentum through a series of successful collaborations with multiple established artists. Stephens added his voice to those of other artists, assisting in them reaching chart-topper hits. He lent his voice to Kanye West's All of the Lights, on Slum Village's "Selfish" and Dilated Peoples' "This Way". Other artists included Jay-Z's "Encore", and he sang backing vocals on Alicia Keys' 2003 song "You Don't Know My Name" and Fort Minor's "High Road." Stephens was born on December 28, 1978, in Springfield, Ohio. He is the son of Phyllis, a seamstress, and John Mills, a factory worker and former National Guardsman. Throughout his childhood, Stephens was homeschooled on and off by his mother. At the age of four, he began playing the piano and at the age of seven, he performed with his church choir. When he was ten, his parents divorced, causing his mother to suffer a breakdown. At the age of 12, Stephens attended North High School, from which he graduated four years later. He graduated salutatorian.

Jennifer-Yvette Holliday (born October 19, 1960, Riverside, Texas) is an American singer and Tony Award-winning actress. She started her career on Broadway in musicals such as Dreamgirls, and later became a successful recording artist. She is best known for her debut single, the Dreamgirls showstopper and Grammy Award-winning R&B/Pop hit, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." She is also known as the Queen Of Broadway Gospel.
Jennifer landed her first big role on Broadway in 1979. At age 19, she landed a part the same day she auditioned for the Broadway production of Your Arms Too Short to Box with God. Her performance in that musical earned her a 1981 Drama Desk nomination. Her next role, which she began to act at 21, was the role for which she became best known: the role of Effie Melody White in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls. Jennifer originated the role of Effie and remained with the show for nearly four years after its December 20, 1981 opening. Her performance in the role was widely acclaimed, particularly in her iconic performance of the musical number that ends Act I, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going."
I am lost in the crowd
I'm standing in line
I'm feeling so down
And i am full of doubt
He's not the one
Take notice,hear me out
I want him, need him
And you, always will pull me through
I'm tired
This games so dumb
He never played,
His race is won
IÂ'm tired,
Can't smile no more
i'll sure cave in, just like before
I want him, need him
And you always will pull me through
And i want him, need him
And you always will pull me through
I want him, need him
And you always will pull me through
And i want him, need him
And you always will pull me through
And i...want him, need him
And i...want him, need him
And i...want him, need him
It's been a while how have you been doing
Do you over think about me and you and
All the things we used to do
The times that we shared
Well I've been looking for love and affection
It's brought me back in your direction
Even though we've been apart
Your part of my soul
Ok I know (I know I was a fool)
A fool (To lose my faith in you)
But girl before you go
I want you to know
That I think of you every day, baby
And I can't seem to get away
from these feelings
And I, I need to tell you some how
That I need your love right now
Looking back I can see things clearly
The mistakes that I paid for dearly
Taking love for granted only leaves you alone
Well if we talked you would understand that
Time has made me a better man and
With your love behind me there's nowhere I can't go
So take a chance (Just take a chance on me)
And you'll see (It's where you need to be)
If your heart it tells you so
You'll know what I know
That I think of you every day, baby
And I can't seem to get away from these feelings
And I, I need to tell you some how
That I need your love right now
Right now is the time for both of us
To put aside our differences and trust
All the words I never used to say
Now I've found a way
(Now I've found a way)
That I think of you every day, baby
(I think of you, I think of you, baby)
And I can't seem to get away from these feelings
(I can't seem to, I can't seem to, get away, get away)
And I, I need to tell you some how
(Some how)
That I need your love (Your love, right now)
(Right now)
That I think of you every day, baby
(baby)
And I can't seem to get away from these feelings
(I can't seem..
From these feelings)
And I, I need to tell you some how
That I need your love right now
I don't need me a basketball player
All I need is somebody that's down for me
And he don't have to have money
His love is just like honey
It's so sweet to me
He can have everythin' in this world
But he'll sacrifice it all for me
And I made up my mind
I'm in love this time
And it feels so real
And I know that he won't break my heart
And I know that we won't ever part
It's time, time for us to settle down
And I wanna be with him forever
They can't say that I am crazy
For makin' him my baby
Bought his flowers for me
See I've done been through many changes
But this one I ain't changin'
This one's staying the same
I can have everythin' in this world
But I'll sacrifice it all for him
And I made up my mind
I'm in love this time
And it feels so real
And I know that he won't break my heart
And I know that we won't ever part
And it's time, time for us to settle down
And I wanna be with him forever
I Love you
And all of the things that you do
Oh baby please, I need you
So believe me, I do
'Cause I love you
And every little thing baby, you do
They don't know how I feel
'Cause I know this is real
And I know that he won't break my heart
And I know that we won't ever part
And it's time, time for us to settle down
And I wanna be with him forever
And I know that he won't break my heart
And I know that we won't ever part
And it's time, time for us to settle down
And I wanna be with him forever
Hoping... feeling...
I will come back to you
And hold you in my arms
And I...
I know you're wrong but
I can't change a single thing
It's like it's ment to be!
Inside I feared to find it...
That you cannot stand the fact
I'm not in love with you!
And I...
I've got the feeling
That I've really had enough
It had to end right here!
There was nothing left to lose
Despite the time we've spent...
Nothing left for you
And I...
Still had the feeling
I won't find in you what I still sought
[verse 1]
There's a name so powerful words can't describe
When spoken demons tremble
And all creation must bow down
[b-section]
Awesome are your ways
Everyday the same
And majesty is your name
[hook]
And i/give you all my worship
And i/wanna sing your praise
And i/long to honor you more than yesterday
[verse 2]
There is not any other who can compare
To your word your life
Your love's ultimate sacrifice
[b-section]
[hook]
[bridge]
You're everything no one else can be
You filled every space that was empty
Lord you are everything to me
[hook]
