Anthony Frank "Tony" Hawk (born May 12, 1968), nicknamed "The Birdman", is an American former professional skateboarder and actor. Hawk is well known for completing the first documented 900 and for his licensed video game titles, published by Activision. He is widely considered to be one of the most successful and influential pioneers of modern vertical skateboarding.
In 2002, he created the "Boom Boom HuckJam", an extreme sports exhibition and tour that was launched in Las Vegas. Throughout his career, Hawk has made numerous appearances in films, other media, and his own series of video games. He has also been involved in various philanthropic activities, including his own Tony Hawk Foundation that helps to build skateparks in underprivileged areas. In 2014, Hawk was labeled as one of the "Most influential skateboarders of all-time" by FoxWeekly.
Tony Hawk was born on May 12, 1968 in Carlsbad, California, to Nancy and Frank Peter Rupert Hawk, and was raised in San Diego, California. When Hawk was young, he was described as being "hyperactive," and his mother says that he was "so hard on himself and expected himself to do so many things." One time, Hawk struck out in baseball and was so distraught that he hid in a ravine and had to be "physically coaxed out" by his father. His frustration with himself was so harsh that his parents had him psychologically evaluated at school. The results were that Tony was "gifted," he tested with an I.Q. of 144, and school advisers recommended placing him in advanced classes. Hawk attended Jean Farb Middle School from 1980 to 1981, and eventually returned for the show, Homecoming with Rick Reilly, where he set up a ramp and did a demonstration.
Tony Hawk's is an extreme sports–adventure video game series endorsed by professional skateboarder Tony Hawk and published by Activision. The series was primarily developed for home consoles by Neversoft (1999–2007), and for handhelds by Vicarious Visions (2001–2007). The series has since been developed by Robomodo since 2008.
The first five Tony Hawk's received critical acclaim for their unique gameplay, varied soundtracks, and expansion over their predecessors. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Pro Skater 3 are critically ranked among the best games ever released for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2, respectively.
Tony is a short form of Anthony or Antonio. It may refer to:
People known by the single name, Tony:
Hawk is a common name for some small to medium-sized diurnal birds of prey, widely distributed and varying greatly in size.
The terms buteonine hawk and accipitrine hawk may be used to distinguish the two types, in regions where hawk applies to both. The term "true hawk" (with scare quotes) is sometimes used for the accipitrine hawks, in regions where buzzard is preferred for the buteonine hawks.
All these groups are members of the Accipitridae family, which includes the hawks and buzzards as well as kites, harriers and eagles. Some authors use "hawk" generally for any small to medium Accipitrid that is not an eagle.
Mike Vallely (/ˈvæləjiː/ VAL-ə-yee; born June 29, 1970), also known as Mike V, is an American professional skateboarder, musician, actor, television personality, stuntman, professional wrestler and FHL hockey player. As of January 2014, he is the lead singer of the hardcore punk band Black Flag.
Vallely was born in Edison, New Jersey, United States to Art and Mary Vallely. Vallely is the younger brother of Joe, and an older brother to sister, Amy. Growing up, Vallely played little league baseball, but, in 1984, at age fourteen, Vallely discovered skateboarding and punk music, borrowing a skateboard from a friend and proceeded to dedicate his life to skateboarding.
At Christmas in 1984, Vallely's parents purchased a Jeff Phillips professional signature model skateboard for him. Besides street skating, Vallely also began vert skateboarding, and often skated at Tom Groholski's ramp, as well as The Barn Ramp, both of which are located in New Jersey. Vallely also skated at the Brooklyn Banks, a well-known skateboarding location under New York's Brooklyn Bridge.

Tony Hawk Skates First Downward Spiral Loop: A behind the scenes look at the idea, the build and the stunt. We talked with Tony about an idea of creating a Helix shaped ramp that could be skated from top to bottom and he was excited but also a little nervous. To make it all the way around and out, he needed a combination of the right speed, centrifugal force and friction to keep him on the vertical wall. Thanks to Sony for funding this dream and the help of Sony Action Cameras to capture the event. Skateboarding is fun. If there's anyone who's an expert on corporate sponsorship, it's Tony Hawk. As skateboarding's beloved poster child since the 80s, Tony has starred in tons of movies and TV shows, put out the most successful skate video games of all time, and brought more public awareness to skateboarding than any other person who's touched a board. He's endorsed McDonalds, Club Med, Bagel Bites, Sony, Kohls, and countless other mega companies. Needless to say, among pioneering a million other things in skateboarding, Tony Hawk can be attributed with bridging the gap between skating and the mainstream. And while there's a constant desire to "keep it core" in our culture, the Birdman breaks down the concept of "selling out" and how corporations and skateboarders can co-exist. Tony Hawk became our poster child and then evolved into skateboarding's ultimate ambassador. No other pro has opened more avenues in terms of what it is possible to achieve as a professional skateboarder.
Back in early September, when the trees were still green and the warmth of summer was still lingering in the air, we were lucky enough to catch up with Baker and Lakai pro Riley Hawk during Lakai’s Picture me Eurollin’ Euro tour. Though Tony Hawk’s eldest son, Riley has very much come into his own over recent years, landing a pro spot on the illustrious Baker squad and become a name to reckon with in his own right – something we discuss with the lad at length. Other topics covered include getting on Lakai, the popularity of the Shep Dawgs video series, Thrasher’s skate rock tours and Andrew Reynolds’ recent Jenkem revelations in which he came out and discussed his regret over his past public behaviour. All those stars you have looked in the eyes
Are long dead reminders of the past you are leaving behind
So don't be shocked if you see me collapse
I'm just not that stable
I think if you're able
You'd best get the hell out of here
Cause I could even go supernova now
So fierce and bright
But I might go too far
Become a black hole
And pull the light right out of you
Pulling the light out of you
Is what I would do with my gravity and my mass
Warping your time and your space
You'd better not look back his way with that beautiful
Face and those eyes and those sweet and soft Xs and Os
I will pull the light right out of those
