Thomas Leo "Tom" Clancy, Jr. (born April 12, 1947) is an American author, best known for his technically detailed espionage, military science, and techno thriller storylines set during and in the aftermath of the Cold War, along with video games on which he did not work, but which bear his name for licensing and promotional purposes. He is Vice Chairman of Community Activities and Public Affairs, as well as a part-owner, of the MLB Baltimore Orioles.
Clancy was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Loyola Blakefield in Towson, Maryland, graduating with the class of 1965. He then attended Loyola College in Baltimore, graduating in 1969. Before making his literary debut, he spent some time running an independent insurance agency. This agency thrived for a few years before joining a group of investors.
Clancy and his first wife Wanda married in 1969, separated briefly in 1995, and permanently separated in December 1996. Clancy filed for divorce in November 1997, which became final in January 1999.
When names are thrown
To those who know that
You're not so tough
You've never been that
So I took the option of getting out
Where it seemed the grass was greener
No need to make it like all was right
No apologies
When parts are made
From bad ideas
I told you to switch over to BBC 1
To teach you about love and such under the sun
All you could do was cry
When you saw that he couldn't even sigh...
(BRIDGE)
In the first division
There's a little boy
In a mental prison
With a speakin' toy
(CHORUS)
The boy is wrecked
The boy is checked
The boy is decked
The boy is necked
He tries to tell you she said yes
But all he can do is press 'let's go, oh yes'
Pain is all around him
And he can't even move a limb
(BRIDGE & CHORUS)
He's a little bit dumb, a little bit silly,
A little bit messed up, a little bit accident prone,
In fact, he's a fucking div and he's just like me!
You chose to surrender
the best thing that's happened to you
What were you missing?
Were you just tripping?
Running away from your fear
was the best you could do
You made this decision
You chose our division
And I have no regrets
I wish you the very best
In all that you do
Congratulations
Now you are free
You have earned your degree
Yeah, you graduated
This is your last separation from me
There'll be no more trying again
No more coming back
No more forgiving you
No more thinking that somehow the sum will be different
By using Division
Half of your friends would attend before they ever knew
Why they are going
To this party I'm throwing
They would be thinking that I would be pleading to you
To get back together
Well how about never?
You're gonna miss me, bad
So funny I had to laugh
You did this to you
Yeah you did
Congratulations
Now you are free
You have earned your degree
Yeah, you graduated
This is your last separation from me
There'll be no more trying again
No more coming back
No more forgiving you
No more thinking that somehow the sum will be different
By using Division
Congratulations
You've graduated
You finally got your degree
in your last separation from me
Congratulations
You've graduated
To being alone by yourself
Let me throw you a party, farewell
Farewell, farewell, farewell, farewell well well well ...
poet i'm sick of your pretty lies.
and it was about the song that sang of the shelves i wished you on.
now sing along.
and i used to wish my heart as good my heart as strong.
and i used to wish i.
don't say it's gone.
i'll pull the truth to you.
and even if it breaks us both down.
I'll take away this selfish pride
Is there room for more than one inside?
Walk the course in shallow strides
A bridge connects, and space divides
How had I misjudged so badly
All the things you tried to hand me?
Ties of truth should bind us tightly
For tired wills die so gently
Wrong, so wrong
You and I
Long, so long
Living lies
Living, driving through indecision
Face to face, without recognition
Blind, we ignore this condition
Now I'm left with only division
Wrong, so wrong
You and I
Long, so long
Living lies
Breathe, one breath
And I find
A voice, one voice
And it's mine...
The division is starting to be permenant
as the rise and final fall of the government
bitterness and sustenance
we carry on
So we reach for the familiar
disguise or failure
speak of conditions for the division
So let's climb back to the beginning
Suggested glances
smoke and laughter at the meeting
our minds content with limited exchange of information
So we sit in silence
ten years for this judgment
failure in short can be defined by an unwillingness to learn from a past mistake with every decision there is a condition and in every choice a price to pay as we carry on in this day and age the hardships that befall us for our mind set often come from misunderstanding turned judgment and so we are separated and labeled outcasts intolerant short-sighted narrow-minded unfairly held to an unfair vice but we cannot compromise what we believe even though it brings condemnation it will come again persecution this division amongst men only causes dissent the distance between us is merely difference if we do not have regard for a mutual respect who will benefit this separates man this age of anger is choking itself these hands have killed this age of anger is choking itself they shall surely do it again this age of anger is shedding its own these hands must learn
I could have picked a better reason than now
Like when your life was at an all-time high
Because I wanted to be the one to bring you all down
And I'm going to take my time
I've been given all of the time in the world
I wanted to be the one to make you all realize what you
have done
Or the lack thereof
Because I wanted to be the one to bring myself down
And I'm going to take my time
I've been given all of the time in the world
I look for questions to my answers I scan for faces in the crowd I search for wisdom in a madhouse I seek freedom for an imprisoned mind
all I wanted in my life is now slipping through my fingers standing on the share I feel the water closing in it seems my sanity is fading to a point of no return I have come to realize the one I fear is me
The fucking gun was in my throat
Want to see you crawl
Crawl
My position, call it oppression
It's quite impossible to reform those who misbehave
Giving in to your blackest desires
Turning everyone you loved into liars
Life will divide
Nobody leaves here alive
Bleeding the sky
Nobody leaves here alive
Life will divide
Nobody leaves here alive
Bleeding the sky
Nobody leaves here alive
Reconsider, fuck your condition
Using everything you've taken against him
Old cuts and scars are reopened
Wings that are clipped can't be made to fly again
Life will divide
Nobody leaves here alive
Bleeding the sky
Nobody leaves here alive
Life will divide
Nobody leaves here alive
Bleeding the sky
Nobody leaves here alive
All in time will be yours if you try
Can't you see that I needed to die?
Your heart is indicating vindication, vindication
Something I do not believe is right
It's all mine
Get down on your knees and beg for it's your fucking time
Get down on your fucking knees and beg for death
It's so funny, truth
Nobody leaves here alive
Nobody leaves here alive
Bleeding the sky
Nobody leaves here alive
