A new position paper by Gisha: “Turning a new page – The end of the civilian closure and the possibilities it offers”

The magnitude of the destruction, the high death toll and trauma caused by the recent round of fighting in Gaza and Israel serve as a painful reminder that the Gaza closure, beyond its moral failings, has failed to achieve its goals. Gisha publishes a new position paper calling on Israel to end the closure and cancel the separation policy.

After two and a half months: Erez Crossing returns to the status quo ante
August 27, 2014. Erez Crossing, which began to operate according to a further restricted format on June 15, opened today for transit of humanitarian cases and merchants. Israel allowed transfer of mail and newspapers too.
