Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She made her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, and released her self-titled debut studio album, Mariah Carey. The album went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles, on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993, a series of hit records, including Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993) and Merry Christmas (1994), established her position as Columbia's highest-selling act. Daydream (1995), made music history when the second single, "One Sweet Day" a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest running number one song in US chart history. During the recording of the album Carey began to deviate from her pop background, and slowly traversed into R&B and Hip-hop. After her separation from Mottola, this musical change was evident with the release of Butterfly (1997).

Their music has been featured in many video games and many popular television programs including 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, EastEnders, Made in Chelsea and The Vampire Diaries. Frontman Danny O'Donoghue is also a coach on The Voice UK.
Danny O'Donoghue and Mark Sheehan met in a club in The Liberties area of Dublin, Ireland near the Guinness brewery, gravitating to each other through a shared liking of music, and in particular a love of R & B music (Rhythm and Blues). "At that time, MTV only came on in Dublin after midnight, it was the fuzzy channel, and for my generation urban culture was just a wave through us all," explains Sheehan. "It wasn't about gangs and guns; it was fashion and fun, singing and dancing."

[ Bill ]
Well baby now that you've got your freedom how you're doin' (without)
[ Mary Lou ]
And honey I'm a subject you've got your freedom too how you're doin' (without)
[ Bill ]
Without your arms around me the world's a lonely place
[ Mary Lou ]
Please don't look too close when you're looking to my face
So you see that I've been crying (and crying ain't what freedom's all about)
[ Both ]
I wanna do my thing with you and if I can't do with you I'll do without
[ Bill ]
You know the last time I saw you was that when you came in
And said that you didn't want to live with me anymore
[ Mary Lou ]
Yeah I thought we'd both be better off if we just untight the knot
And losin' the chance
But honey I was in your arms five minutes before I knew I made a big mistake
[ Bill ]
And you just don't know how many nights I've laid awake in a big cold bed
And called your name
And I just wonder now if all the men in town are cravin' your body
Honey what you're doin' (without)
[ Mary Lou ]
And if all the girls are chasin' you what have you been doin' (without)
Without your arms around me...
music O. N. Schmid, lyrics Ch. Schmid
Leave me scared
Suck my lust
The past is everything
Leave me
Light onto me
Carry, all my tearful love
I am nothing
But you are my heaven
Bleed my blood
Everything
But love is nothing at all
Under here
There's no light
Take from me my sight
I don't need it anymore
You came here
With your fire
Burned out my desire
Took the whisper from the flame
I never wanted
I never knew
It was you
I stood there helpless
Far and away
Nothing left to say
And it feels the same that it did before
Only without you
And I cry the same that I did before
Only without you
I failed to see the light that was for me
Wait, I didn't see it coming
I took one last look around
The machines were out of order
The machines are out of order
Wait, I never paid attention
Day dreamin' till the end
I need a second dose of childhood
I need a second dose of childhood
I gotta get gone get outta the rain
I gotta get gone get outta the rain
I gotta get gone get outta the rain
I gotta get gone get gone
I'm feelin' no meaning without you (I've lost all of myself)
I'm searchin' for a reason without you (Why can't it always be true)
Keep feelin' keep breathin' just saved me from myself
Wait, I can't behave now
Sit around I'm such a mess
Looked around there's no one else here
I looked around there's no one else
Wait, I went the wrong way
I lift off okay to go
I wanna make my lunar orbit
I try my best to obsorb it
I gotta get gone get outta the rain
I gotta get gone get outta the rain
I gotta get gone get outta the rain
I gotta get gone, get gone
I'm feelin' no meaning without you (I've lost all of myself)
I'm searchin' for a reason without you (Why can't it always be true)
Keep feelin' keep breathin' just saved me from myself
I gotta get, gotta get, gone!
I gotta get gone!
I gotta get gone!
I gotta get...gone!
I'm feelin' no meaning without you (I've lost all of myself)
I'm searchin' for a reason without you (Why can't it always be true)
Keep feelin' keep breathin' saved me from myself!
The darkness will be here in an hour,
To leave me completely alone with my fears, insecurities,
And the ghost of a face that walked into a crowd,
And out of this chapter of my life.
You've come a long way, you've got a long way to go.
Ain't nothing steady about the rhythm of the road.
And in fifteen seconds, the years flash by and I'm gone.
Brand new highway, the world on my back,
And nowhere to go but on.
Tilt back my head, listen to the motor moan.
Look back, look ahead, baby we'vebeen alone.
And baby we'll be alone.
But that's alright, I'll hold you tight
Through the long arms of the night.
And maybe in the morning, I'll call you on the phone.
On the edge, I'm gonna jump.
See I've got to, the ticket's bought and I've already checked my bag.
But we've got half an hour, let's sit and have a drink.
Talk a bit, a little kiss, then it's into the abyss.
I've fallen before, I've got a few falls to go.
Once you start falling, you know you never really know.
You can overthrow the world, pass the day upon its thrown,
But you wake up in the morning, thinking maybe you've been alone.
And maybe you'll be alone.
How can I make you see
How do I make you understand
For all these years now
I've been telling the truth
I'll always be here
I'll never leave
I'll never turn away
I'll make you believe
I know it doesn't matter what you say
It shows in everything I'm not
I try to reach through
I try to make you see
I'm lost here alone
Without you
How can I withstand this
How do I make it on my own
For all this time now
All I've known is you
And I'll wait forever
If it means you'll finally find a way
To see I'll never change never break
This I won't forsake
I've Been Walking In This Road
Time Passing Me By
Letting Go Of What I Couldn't Hold
Finding Places To Hide
I've Been Watching You Closely
Every Move That You Make
And All The Things You've Showed To Me
Are Getting Harder To Take
[CHORUS]
I Wish That We Could Begin From The Start
I Pray That I Could Be Brave Enough
To Show You How Easily I Fall Apart
I Can't Let You Know
That I Can't Let It Show
'Cause I'd Rather Be Without Than Be Without You
I Guess I Feel Like A Stranger
When It Comes Down To Love
I'm Too Aware of The Danger
That It Can Bring Upon Us
[CHORUS]
[Whistling]
I Wish That We Could Begin From The Start
I Pray That I Could Be Brave Enough
To Show You How Easily I Fall Apart
I Can't Let You Know
I Wish That We Could Begin From The Start
I Pray That I Could Be Brave Enough
To Find Out If You'd Ever Give Me Your Heart
Cause You Don't Let Me Know
You Don't Let It Show
And I Want You To Know
Shadows beat their way inside
Past open doors
Strip away the paradise
I can't touch the floor
Dust upon the dust
Paint over paint
Floating on a gentle breeze
Above the road
I want your love
Without
All of the time
Without
Sunlight stains the water boat
Drops fall in sync
This is the truth of anything
That's from above
I want your love
Without
All of the time
Without
I want your love
Without
All of the time
sitting and staring
waiting and contemplating
something that stupid
and selfish for nothing
without these scars I’m just as
I’m just as beautiful as
without this hate I’m just as
I’m just as pitiful as
without these scars I’m just as
I’m just as beautiful as
without this hate I’m just so fucking pitiful
I need the smell of cigarettes
I need the sweat to feel
the blood pour from my head
so I know this is real
without these scars I’m just as
I’m just as beautiful as
without this hate I’m just as
I’m just as pitiful as
without these scars I’m just as
I’m just as beautiful as
without this hate I’m just so fucking pitiful
I never thought the taste of metal
could be so inviting
I never thought the taste of metal
could be so inviting
I never thought the taste
I never thought the taste
it could be so fucking divine
it could be so fucking divine
I’m pitiful
I’m beautiful
I’m pitiful
I’m beautiful
deeper deeper
deeper deeper
deeper deeper
bury me alive
bury me alive
bury me alive
