Derrylin (from Irish: Doire Loinn, meaning "oakgrove of the blackbirds") is a small village and townland in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is on the A509 road between Enniskillen and the border with County Cavan (the N3 road to Dublin). It had a population of 423 in the 2001 Census.
The village has several historical features, including the Callowhill graveyard with headstones dating back to the 17th century. Upper Lough Erne is east of the village, and west is the peak of Slieve Rushen. To the northeast is the limestone hill known as Knockninny Rock (from which the R.C Parish and the Civil Barony takes its name). On its southern slope can be seen the remains of one of the oldest castles belonging to the Maguire Clan, the ancient Lords of Fermanagh.
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Perry grew up with gospel music, and during her first year of high school she pursued a music career as Katy Hudson, releasing her first studio album called Katy Hudson which failed to chart. She recorded a solo album later, which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry.
She first gained recognition with the release of her first mainstream album, One of the Boys in 2008, which spawned three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs—"I Kissed A Girl", "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas". Perry supported the album with her Hello Katy Tour. In 2010, her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), which topped the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned five number one singles—"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"—Teenage Dream was the only album (after Michael Jackson's Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone. She embarked on the California Dreams Tour, which grossed nearly $60 million worldwide. Perry re-released the album under the name of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 26, 2012, and the re-release has already spawned the number-one single "Part of Me".
Well if you never let
Them tight pants
Have a chance
To hug your hips
Manhattan bluebird
Girl ... you never flown
And if you never read
Your name
Carved in leather
With your fingertips
Manhattan bluebird
Girl ... you done yourself wrong
And if you never let
That honky tonk
Juke box
Sing for you
Manhattan bluebird
Girl ... you missed your song
Thereæ¯ an old shoe
Out on the highway
Tells us of the Wilderness of this World
And an old dirt floor
Moves under me and you
Tells us of the Wilderness of this World
And the moon falls
Down on a highway
An that highway crawls
Cross the desert below
Like a sad song
You canæ° stop dancin to
Tells us of the Wilderness of this World
And the desert falls
Down on the ocean
And that motion is all
Weæ£l ever knowIt just keeps on spinning
This bunch of dancin fools
Run crazy across the Wilderness of this World
Yeah
Run crazy across the Wilderness of this World
Thereæ¯ an old shoe
Tell me whatever happened to Jesus
Ahhh where did that good old boy go
Did you leave him behind back in Texas
Or did he just hide
In the devil's disguise
Somewhere in your soul
Tell me whatever happened to Mary
Whatever happened to her sweet dreams
Did she leave them behind with her
Childhood
Or just trade em in
On a tube
Of Maybellene ... ahhh
Maybellene, why can't you be true
Yeah Maybellene, why can't you be true
You done started back doin them thangs you used
to do...
You done started back doin them thangs you used
Washed in the blood
Washed In the blood
Washed in the blood
Blood of the lamb
Does Jesus love you?
Does Jesus love you?
Does Jesus love you?
Oh hally lou
Oh hally lou
Oh hally lou
Does Jesus love you?
Washed in the blood
Washed In the blood
Washed in the blood
Does Jesus love you?
Does Jesus love you?
Does Jesus love you?
Does Jesus love you?
Oh hally lou
Oh hally lou
Oh hally lou
Oh hally lou
Does Jesus love you?
Recitation:
Once upon a time
Sometime ago back on the east coast
In New York City, to be exact
A bunch of artists and painters and
sculptors and musicians and
poets and writers and dancers
and architects
Started feeling real superior
to their ego-counter-parts
Out on the West Coastå»o,
They all got together and decided
They would show those snotty surfer upstarts
A thing or two about the Big Apple
Andå¼hey hired themselves a truck
It was a big, spanking new white-shiny
Chrome-plated cab-over
Peterbilt
With mudflaps, stereo, tv, AM & FM radio,
Leather seats and a naugahide sleeper
All fresh
With new American Flag decals and "ART ARK"
Printed on the side of the door
With solid 24 karat gold leaf type
And they filled up this truck
With the most significant piles
And influential heaps of Art Work
To ever be assembled in Modern Times,
And it sent it Westå¼o chide
Cajole, humble and humiliateå¼he Golden Bear.
And this is the true story of that truck
A Truckload of Art
From New York City
Came rollin down the road
Yeah the driver was singing
And the sunset was pretty
But the truck turned over
And she rolled off the road
Yeah a Truckload of Art
is burning near the highway
Precious objects are scattered
All over the ground
And it's a terrible sight
If a person were to see it
But there weren't nobody around
(Yodel)
Yeah the driver went sailing
High in the sky
Landing in the gold lap of the Lord
Who smiled and then said
"Son, you're better off dead
Than haulin a truckload
full of hot avant-garde
(chorus)
Yesån important artwork
Was thrown burning to the ground
Tragicallyå¨anding in the weeds
And the smoke could be seen
Ahhh for miles all around
Yeah but nobodyå¥nows what it means
Yeså Truckload of Art
Is burning near the highway
And it's a tough job for the highway patrol
Ahhh they'll soon see the smoke
An come runnin to poke
Then dig a deep ditch
And throw the arts in a hole
(Yodel)
Yeah a Truckload of Art
Is burning near the highway
And it's raging far-out of control
And what the critics have cheered
Is now shattered and queered
And their noble reviews
Have been stewed on the road
Chorus:
Well Iæ¦ goin back
Goin home again
Yeah I'm goin back
To my own again
Yeah I'm goin back
Ahhh to my home town
The one that put me out
The one that put me down
Well I wired up a car in East Fontana
I was aæeaded for San Berdu
Ahhh my midnight oil
It was on the boil
An boy I was a barrelæ§ through
Then I took a turn
But I hit the curb
An spun off the center lane
An when I heard the crash
Well I stomped on the gas
An I was barrelæ§ on again
I leave a few people dead
But I got open road ahead
Yeah
I leave a few people dead
But I got open road ahead
An I remember the cop
With his slicked-back hair
When he told me
To get out aæere
An I remember the judge
With his gold plated mouth
He said "go live in the north
You gonna die down South'
You gonna die down south
Chorus
I went flyin through South San Berdu
With my mind on East L.A.
Where my pachuco queen
She's cookin re-fried beans
An sheæ¯ waitin for me today
Yeah stopped on off at the liquor store
Made every body lay down on the floor
Took all their whiskey
Took their bread
Then Shot out their lights
Just before I fled
Yeah
I leave a few people dead
But I got open road ahead
Yeah
I leave a few people dead,
But I got open road ahead
An I remember the bitch
Whose black tongue lied
When she told me
She's dissatisfied
An I remember her daddy
Big as a truck
He said "fuck with me boy
if you want to fuck
Yeah, fuck with me boy
if you want to fuck
Chorus
Yeah there oughta be a law
Against sunny Southern California
Yeah there oughta be a law
Against putting the devil
Behind the wheel...
Cause as long as you people are gonna
Sanction such an evil
Well I'm gonna turn your asphalt
Back Into brimstone
Yeah You God damned bet
yeah
I know you donæ° understand this
But I think you have a death wish
Even though I know you do not want to die
Yeah you just want to fall in love
Be blessed by the lord above
And get married to a real nice guy
Wear a string of pearls
Wear your mothers pearls
you are just
That kind of girlyeah
You must have a death wish
But you would never cut your wrists
I know you do not believe in suicide
You just want the perfect home
Full of perfect stuff and be left alone
And never ever have to go outside
Out into the world
Out into the world
You are just
That kind of girl
yeah
You must have a death wish
you look a little anorexic
Though I know you eatæ§ good healthy food
You do not smoke cigarettes, do drugs, get drunk
Or even think of it
And love to do without sex is more true
yeah
But true to who?
True to you?
Or just life in that kind of world
Just lifeåouæ®e
I been wrong for so long
Accusing you of wrongness
But tonight ... you broke
And you made me right
Cause I just saw you inside
This Texas tavern
By his side ... smiling smiles
I never seen
So I just straightened up
And walked in on that bar room
Just as you reached out and kissed
His curling mouth
But when you saw me your eyes died
Somewhere deep inside you
It tore me down ... I turned around
And ran back on out
Chorus:
With Texas tears failing down
Washing my life right out on the ground
Texas tears they're falling down
Running out ... on you running around
I went home all alone
Sit down by the telephone
When it rang ... I knew it was you
Was on the line
You said
"Baby, please don't mistake
What you seen for a backstreet date
Now ... I was just havin a drink
With a friend of mine"
I said
"Damn you ... you lyin Texas woman
You got the lips of an angel
But the devil, he's suckin your tongue
Yeah damn you ... you lyin Texas woman
Me an you an that devil too
Just done had our run"
I need money
I need love
I need a cadillac
To give me a shove
And get me out of this up-tight
Mid-night
Into some lime-light...again
Yeah 'cause I know
My ego
Ain't my amigo
Anymore
I need whiskey
I need style
I need a job
to make it worthwhile
And to get me out of this up-tight
Mid-night
Into some lime-light...again
Yeah 'cause I know
My ego
Ain't my amigo
From the wrong side of nothin
To the right side of gone
He left em all reelin
With his white bucks on
And headed out west
Cross road to the bone
With the beat of his heart
And the radio on
Got the fire in his blood
Snake on his tongue
Knows the BIG BOY's a commin
Better bust em up an run

LIKE IT ALL JUST BEGUN
THAT BIG BOY'S A COMMIN
BETTER BUST EM UP AN RUN
Yeah slick-backed his hair
Dry cleaned his robes
Delivered his predictions
Like the prophets of old
How the blood of the lamb
From the sheep from the fold
Rise up in a flood
An wash away your souls
And the Devil's just grinnin
At the thought of the fun
Of that BIG BOY a commin
Better bust em up an run
REAL ESTATE AND JUNKIES
CANCERS AND ART
HOMOS AND HETROS

HOLD ON TO THE GOOD BOOK
BUT DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH
YEAH IT'S ALREADY OVER
THE END JUST BEGUN
AH THE BIG BOY'S A COMMIN
BETTER BUST EM UP AN RUN
With his head in the city
And his heart out of town
He preached on the corners

meanwhile,
Duck talking to the sky.
Hello Daddy
Hello Momma
Hello old friends
Angels of the mystery
Flying out flying in
There ain't no way
That's the way it goes
And heaven is just an adjustment
Chorus:
Yeah roll truck roll
Yeah roll truck roll
Better get on down the highway
You better get on ... down the
Road
Yeah I work for a trucking
Company
And my forearms big as beef
If it wasn't for the highway
My family'd be on relief
Chorus
Yeah lonely heart wreck hitch hike truckstop
Ahhh sad cafe where the people never care
Yeah you think you ordered a big hot beef
Sandwich
But you're the one that's gonna get eatin in there
Chorus
Yeah the waitress smile is like some witch's womb
(WOO)
An her black dress moves like water through the
room
An flowers die ... twisted across your table
An the menu reads like a tattoo on your tomb
Out on the banks
Of the Rio Ticino
Standing in front of
The 3 Kings Hotel
Looking out
At the town of Castelletto
Wondering about
What Happened
Over There
Steam like smoke
Is out on the water
Rise'n up white
Like fingers in the air
And birds flock on boats
That float on the water
And you wonder about
What Happened
Over There
On the opposite banks
Of the Rio Ticino
Standing in front of
The wall where they fell
During a war
We all seem to like now
And you wonder about
What Happened
Over Here
Steam like smoke
Is out on the water
Rise'n up white
Like ghosts in the air
And birds flock on boats
That float on the water
And you wonder about
What Happens
Thereæ¯ a one-legged woman
On the dance floor
An that one legæ¯ so pretty
She donæ° need no more
Sheæ¯ got a graceful demeanor
Ahhh pure ballerina
Who gives a damn
If sheæ¯ one leg shortåause
If you knew Peggy Legg
Youæ be down at her knee
An beg an beg
For her to just give you
Some time aæay
But sheæ¯ just blow you a kiss, boy
And twirls a twirl
An this is all sheæ say
"We all got missing parts
Right from the start
We got to live with
Bout all a body can do
Is just stumble on through
What God gives to it
All you need is a heart
An just enough of a brain
To get your half-ass in
Out of the rain"
Now that one-legged womanæ¯
On the band stand
She sings a full-bodied song
About a one-legged man
She kinda jiggles her thigh
When she sings of this guy
And the perfect balance of life
Bout how all heæ¯ got left
Is just what sheæ¯ got rightån
If you knew Peggy Legg
Youæ be down at her knee
An beg an beg
For her to just give you
Some time aæay
But sheæ¯ just blow you a kiss, boy
And twirls a twirl
An this is all sheæ say
"We all got missing parts
Right from the start
We got to live with
Bout all a body can do
Is just stumble on through
What God gives to it
All you need is a heart
An just enough of a brain
To get your half-ass in
Out of the rain"
If you knew Peggy Legg
Youæ be down at her knee
An beg an beg
For her to just give you
Some time aæay
But sheæ¯ just blow you a kiss, boy
And twirls a twirl
Chorus:
Ourland is my land
Her history is calling me
From the shoes of another land
To ourland across the sea
Well I fancy a bomb inside my head
Ticking for the men
And Iæ£l put it in a little cafe
And blow æ
¹m to hell again
An I fancy a pistol in my coat
Loaded for the kill
And weæ£l gun the ones who run outside
I swear by god we will
Chorus
An I fancy a knife inside my pants
Bone handled razor sharp
An weæ£l run ones that survive the blast
And cut them in the dark
An I fancy my hands behind the wheel
An their wounded aæ£aying down
And weæ£l punch the gas and run it fast
An grind them in the ground
Chorus
An I fancy their widows under me
Squealin with delight
So we'll have our fun then when weæ®e done
We'll garrote them in the night
An we fancy their children a crying then
But we will pat their heads
And sing them to sleep with a firemanæ¯ song
Then burn them in their beds
(A French Song)
OOOOOOO UI
OOOOOOO UI
OOOOOOO UI
OOOOOOO UI
Well I give up all my sculpturing
'Cause my life had gone all sad
An I went to work down at the factory
It weren't art...but it weren't bad
They put me on the assembly line
Puttin plastic leaves on the plastic palms
Then they shipped then off the Los Angeles
Yeah it weren't art...but it weren't wrong
Now some say it's pathetic
When you give up your aesthetic
For a blue collar job in the factory
But all that exhibiting
Was just too damn inhibiting
For a beer drinking
Regular guy...like me
OOOOOOO UI
OOOOOOO UI
OOOOOOO UI
Well
She's sittin in the front room
Just watchin the tv
Paintin her nails red
In a black negligee
She just teased up her new wig
Painted her eyelids blue
Yeah
She's out to win
But she's destined to lose
Too much rouge
Too much booze
Too many movie magazines
Too many high-tones
Makin fun of her
And the way she lives
Too many low-lifes
Makin her promises
They'll never give
But she's a diamond in the wilderness
Ahhh
Sweetheart of the West
Yeah
She ain't so good lookin
But she can make love with the best
'Cause
She's forty
An lonely
An raw
An raunchy
An has a good heart
Yeah
An has a good heart
She's a Lubbock Woman
Well
I just left myself today
Hell
I couldn't wait to get away
There's still a smear
Across the mirror
That I have been
But it won't
Reflect on me
Again
'Cause
I just left myself today
Yeah
I just packed me up and went away
I didn't float
I didn't fly
I did not transcend
No I
Just walked out on me
Again
Runnin hard an runnin mean
Down the ... San Joaquin
Diamond Reo with Your Crazy rollin wheels
Thereæ¯ a moon shinin bright
Like a big eye in the night
Yeah throwæ her light down on that road to
Bakersfield
Yeah the heart of Californiaæ¯
Haulin ... hard times again
And the highway ... she does not make amends
That diesel's got to howl
But the devil's on the prowl
An that white line gone
It won't come along again
Runnin wired an runnin fast
Runnin out of gas
Diamond Reo knows what empty means
An Jesus Christ on the dash
Won't keep it from the crash
If ever curve is just your nerves ... closin in
Yeah the heart of California's
Haulin ... hard times again
And the highway ... she does not make amends
Your nameæ¯ out on the door
An your toots down on the floor
But that white line down
It won't come around again
Yeah the Reo's comin down
Outside of town
Strung-out æween the asphalt and the wheel
And LA she waits
Like a poisonous snake
Coiled up with her diamonds in the hills
Yeah the heart of California's
Haulin ... hard times again
And the highway ... she does not make amends
That road you're runnin on's
Hell bent for Babylon
An that white line down
It won't come around again
An that white line down
Hey I donæ° need no chickenshit business man
tellinme what to do
Even if you ainæ° got no business

I donæ° need no sweet faced woman
goin sour mouthed on me
If I work like a dog night an day
to give her a hundred time moreæ§ she needs
Gone to Texas baby
Gone to Texas tonight
Gone to Texas baby
All I need is the ride
You say it ainæ° no differentæ§
Any other place to go
Well you ainæ° been with me
Or youæ already know
Itæ¯ just the feel of the deal
from behind the wheel
Thatæ£l make me need to go
Well I donæ° need no stinky Pinky
sing to me about the common man
Some cowboy fake who think all it takes
is a hat on his head and a Grammy in his hand
An I donæ° need no weekend warrior
out there protectin me
If heæ¯ dumb with a gun as he is with his tongue
when heæ¯ shootin off on TV
Gone to Texas baby
Gone to Texas tonight
Gone to Texas baby
All I need is the ride
You say it ainæ° no differentæ§
Any other place to go
Well you must be a yankee
Or your just kinda slowåause
Itæ¯ just the feel of the deal
from behind the wheel
Makes you need these Texas roads
Well I donæ° need no dime a dozen
ah New Age way to live
An I donæ° need no two bit preacher
condemn me because I donæ° give him my

You can burn the flag an melt the statue

Iæ¦Gone to Texas baby
Might go straight on to the moon
Gone to Texas baby
Canæ° get enough too soon
Say Texas ainæ° no differentæ§
Goinstraight to Hell can be
Hey you must be a critic
Are you too blind to see
Itæ¯ just the feel of the deal
from behind the wheel
Gonna heel the hell out of me
Gone to Texas baby
Gone to Texas tonight
Gone to Texas baby
In this world today where we're living
Some folks say the worst of us they can
But when we are dead and in our caskets
They always slip some lilies in our hands
Will you give me my flowers
While I'm livin' and let me enjoy them while I can?
Don't wait 'til I'm ready to be buried
And then slip some lilies in my hand
In this world is where we need our flowers
And a kind word to help us get along
So if you can't give me flowers while I'm livin'
Yeah
He never done too good
When he's in high school
Ahhh
He never even talked
To a popular girl
Yeah
He just hung around
Down at the drive-in
Honkin on his horn
An drinkin Pearl
Beer
But he's a Future Farmer of America
Yeah
Blue Jacket pride
Of the FFA
He's the future father
Of some president
Who'll be another pain-in-the-ass
For the U S of A
He'll be another pain-in-the-ass
From the east side of Chicago
To the down side of L.A.
There's no place that he goes
We don't bow down to him and pray
Yeah we follow him to the slaughter
We go through the fire and ash
Cause he's the doll inside our dollars
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Cash
Chorus:
AH WE BLOW HIM UP
INFLATED
AND WE LET HIM DOWN
DEPRESSED
WE PLAY WITH HIM
FOREVER
HE'S OUR DOLL
AND WE LOVE HIM BEST
From the stress of New York City
To the death cults of D.C.
There's nothing quite so pretty
As what he offers to you and me
So we kneel down at the altar
Of the Church of the Bought and Sold
And pray the doll he does not falter
And makes us rich before we get old
Chorus repeats
From the side streets of New Orleans
To the dead beats by the bay
The chat rooms are all aæuzzin
With our wishes for the day
And the money changers come howlin
Through the temple of our needs
While the doll is out there prowlin
And holds the notes on all our dreams
Iæ¦ 13 years old
I hate your guts
an I got a zip gun
I got a reefer
Iæ³e been screwing since I was 9
an I can make you or break you
with charm
I steal bubble gum
I steal cigarettes
and I can kill you
and never go to jail
just be circumcised
analized
sodomized
by some adult judge
that will save me
cause Iæ¦ young
Iæ¦ 13
and Iæ¦ cute
and itæ¯ your fault
societyæ¯ fault
schoolæ¯ fault
churchæ¯ fault
governmentæ¯ fault
folkæ¯ fault
an fucking naked girls fault too
Itæ¯ the end of the family
Itæ¯ the end of the world
Iæ¦ 13 and Iæ¦ in love
and I hope you die
Iæ¦ 13 and Iæ¦ in love
His lonely
is only
A blank space
in the hallway
On the wallway
Between the hanging
Of paintings
Of lonely
that ain't lonely
At all...
Well...the Art Mob's out tonight
Yeah...the Art Mob's out tonight
Ahhh...you better look good
Yeah...you better act right
'Cause,
the Art Mob's out tonight
(repeat)
Cocktails for three
Ohhh it's gettin to me
Yeah passin afternoons
Sittin in these cocktail rooms
Ahhh from nine to five
I'm in the pink
'Cause after work
We go for a drink
He shows up every time
Just as I clink
Your daqueri to mine
Ohhh cocktails for three
It's not natural to me
Hey not for me and you
Should be...cocktails for two
Just sittin here with that fellow and you
tryin hard to act mellow...when I'm blue
Ahhh whoo-whoo
Cocktails for three
It's too kinky for me
Best let it go and be done
Just stick to...cocktails for one
Now he's just another lonely business man
Sittin in a lonely business land
His story is on every jukebox
And his life...like his drinkin
Is on the rocks
Yeah
His life...like his drinkin
Yeah she got them red eyes
Ahhh from doin the red pills
And she says it's for the high times
Yeah she says it's for thrills
So she does reds...with her coffee
With her pepsi's and her gin
And she says it really does her out fine
But...it's just doin her in
You see...She lost her soldier boy
Over in Nam
And she found out a year ago Wednesday
When after work...she come home
And she read his latest letter
That said
Never again...would he leave her alone
But beside hit...the telegram
That said he was gone
Ohhh she cried and she cried
Yeah...for nearly a year
Then I guess she just lost the will to live
Like she lost that soldier...so dear
'Cause she just traded in all that sadness
And all of her fears
For a bottle...marked heartache
Full of little red tears
Yeah she got them red eyes
Ahhh from doin the red pills
And she says it's for the high times
Yeah she says it's for thrills
So she does reds...with her coffee
With her pepsi's and her gin
And she says it really does her out fine
Oh my mother
She is a mountain
And her breast
It touch the sky
And my father
He is a river
Running through her
Sweet bye and bye
And my sister
She is a songbird
And she's singing in her flight
And my brother
He is a moonbeam
Failing on her in the night
There is a river
Run through the mountains
Under moonlight
Hear the song
Of the bloodlines
Gone long before me
And ever afterMoving on
Well it's not silly
When she brings you your chili
To grab a cracker
And distract her...with a crunch
A cracker crunch
'Cause you'll only see her once
Only this one time at lunch
And she might as well see you too
Ahhh...it's the last time
You're passing through
And it's not rude
When she takes away your food
To touch her fingers
And let them linger awhile with your loneliness
A cracker crunch
'Cause you'll only touch her once
Only this one time at lunch
And she might as well touch you too
Ahhh...it's the last time
You're passin through
So it's not strange
When she brings you your change
To bend down and kiss her
And whisper you'll miss her...forever
A cracker crunch
'Cause you'll only love her once
Only this one time at lunch
And she might as well love you too
Ahhh...it's the last time
You're passin through
Recitation:
A waitress asked me what I did
I told her I tried (to make art).
She asked me if I made any money.
I said no...I have to "teach" to do that.
She asked me what I taught and where.
I told her.
She told me that she liked art, but that she
couldn't draw a straight line.
Every night the same light shines
From your eyes and back to mine
With a vision of the love
We thought was true
But the darkness of the world out there
Surrounds the love we thought we shared
And it all fades back to black
Tween me and you
But me and you weæ®e not to blame
Love always returns from where it came
Back to black and in the end
Itæ¯ all the same
Now the darkness has slipped inside
But neither one of us can hide
Though you act for me
Just like I act for you
But when out two fates did cross
We should have both guessed the cost
That it all fades back to black
And nothingæ¯ new
But me and you weæ®e not to blame
Love always returns from where it came
Back to black and in the end
Itæ¯ all the same
So if some mirror up on the wall
Reflected the love that we once saw
We could stand there forever
And never move
But lovespicture in the glass
Fades away it never lasts
It just all fades back to black
And nothingæ¯ true
But me and you weæ®e not to blame
Love always returns from where it came
Back to black and in the end
Itæ¯ all the same
Back to black for me and you
Well
I'm a high straight in Plainview
Side bet in Idalou
An a fresh deck in New Deal
Yeah
Some call me high hand
An some call me low hand
But I'm holdin what I amå±he Wheel
'Cause
I'm panhandlin
Man handlin
Post holin
High rollin
Dust Bowlinåaddy
An I ain't got no blood veins
I just got them four lanes
Of hardåmarillo Highway
Yeah
I don't wear no Stetson
But I'm willin to bet son
That I'm a big a Texan as you are
'Cause
There's a girl in her barefeet
'Sleep on the back seat
An that trunk is full of Pearlånd Lone Star
(chorus)
Gonna hop outta bed
Pop a pill in my head
Yeah, bust the Hub for the Golden Spread
Under blue skies
Gonna stuff my hide
Behind some power glide
An get some southern friedåack in my eyes
(chorus)
An close I'll ever get to heaven
Is makin' speed up ol' 87
Well he just turned 17
When he left old Abilene
With his bagsånd permission
From the kin
Yeah but things just werenæ° the same
After his Momma signed her name
And let the navyå¼ake him inahhh but
What of Alicia
Espanola
13 years old
Child of Mexico
An he just turned 19 years
When he learned to face his fears
Of growing upånd acting
Like a man
He just cocked his sailor cap
Stuck his hands down in his lap
Leaned back and strokedå¼hem girls in Japan
ahhh but
What of Alicia
Espanola
15 years old
Child of Mexico
An he just turned 23
When he finally took his final leave
Anchored in the port of
San Diego
Yeah he met this border girl
An he fancied her bodyæ¯ curl
So he married herå¼hen carried her to Colorado
ahhh but
What of Alicia
Espanola
19 years old
an old woman
But out of Mexico
When Jesus saves the world
Where will you be?
Out on the lonesome plains o Texas
Or the shores of the Galilee
When Jesus Saves the World
Which he will surely do
It don't matter where you are
He's gonna bring his wrath on you
Ah-um Mississippi Ah-um Alabama
Ah-um Louisiana Ah-um Nashville
Tennessee
When Jesus Saves the world
And tallies up the toll
For ever one he sends to Glory
Be a billion burn below
When Jesus Saves the world
He'll be looking right straight at you
An ever sin you ever did
Gonna stick out clear and true
Ah-um Carolinas Ah-um Atlanta Georgia
Ah-um Miami Florida Ah-um New Orleans
When Jesus Saves the world
You're either on or off the track
There ain't no reincarnation
You won't be commin back
When Jesus Saves the world
Your loved ones will be gone
You'll have to face his awful judgment
Stark naked all alone
Ah-um Oh Virginia Ah-um Oklahoma
Ah-um Arkansas Ah-um Abilene
When Jesus Saves the world
All time will stop with sin
And nothin will be mysterious
It'll all just be The End
When Jesus Saves the world
He will kill it too
And the righteous will rise to Glory
What a comfort to me and you
Sa la vey
Sa la guerre
When that soft suburban moonlight
Plays a mansionette melody
Calling all blue collars
And their sweet boufantee's
To go slipping through the shadows
Sipping corvasier
It's magnifique
in Rendezvous, U...S...A
Sa la vey
It's not Parie
Sa la guerre
It's over here
When fast food restaurants elegante
Offer glamour with glitter galore
An tattooed hands hold champagne
That whispers of amour
To them coquettes across the tables
With their crepe-suzette's flirt'eee...yeah
Ahhh great fond-due
In Rendezvous U...S...A
Sa la vey
It's not Parie
Sa la guerre
Yeah but I don't care
'Cause sleazy sheik haunts the ballrooms
Dancing disco's debonair
An beau-coups of hip medallions
Rub against Frederick's brassieres
An they'll soon get off together
to French tickle some tet-a-tet...yeh
Ahhh what a grand adieu
To Rendezvous...
What a grand adieu
Well they sit out by the hot tubs
Oh what a dangerous life
And they talk about how they got their stuff
Oh what a dangerous life
They drink zombies on the sunnyside
With lotion squirts ... and moans
Their precious bodies by the poolsides
Remodeled like their homes...
On silicone successfulness
It's the new American-ness
Yeah you better invest in this
Oh what a dangerous life
Chorus:
And Bissie's in her bathtub
Cleansing herself from the wrath of
Some personal Pasadena
But scrubbing on her white skin
Rubbing all them oils in
Will it make her feel ... any cleaner
in Pasadena
Pasadena
Oh what a dangerous life
Yeah they smoke a little marijuana-ha
Oh what a dangerous life
Then they float on into the sauna-ha
Oh what a dangerous life
Ja'causezis oozing on display
And consciousness raising groans
Say I'm okay youæ®e okay
As long as we stay stoned...
And cloned
On silicone successfulness
Itæ¯ the new restless-ness
Better get undressed for this
Oh what a dangerous life
Chorus
Silicone successfulness
Itæ¯ the new restless-ness
Better get undressed for this
Silicone successfulness
It's the new sexless-ness
Won't be depressed with this
Dangerous
Yeah the truck drivin man
He gonna understand
When he pulls into the night cafe
He gonna walk right in
Where there's too many men
Wantin hamburgers right away
When he finally finds a booth
He calls to waitress "Ruth"
He says "Gimme the special ah the day"
Hot beef
Yeah but Ruth gets goosed
At the opposite booth
An she runs off the other way
But he donæ° care cause...
Chorus:
That old jukebox is playing his love song
An the coffee is hot ... In the cup
And there's a light in the night
That spells 'Cafe'
Where the big trucks are all ... pullin up
Yeah truck drivin man
He got a mouth full of sin
But his heart looks the other way
An though they hot-eye Ruth
Well they know the truth
Is æweet galdown the way
So they cuss an they grin
They fill their thermos again
And they listen to the music
Play
They got a heavy load
Waitin out on the road
An a home still two days away
But they can wait for it
Cause...
Chorus
Yeah the truck drivin man
He gonna understand
When he leaves that night cafe
He gonna dance a jig
Out beside his rig
Just to shake the cold away
He gonna slam the door
An let the diesel roar
Down the dark highway
But he has no fears
While he's shiftin gears
To that next ... night cafe
Cause he knows glowin there
Like a diamond in the tar pit
Hey he stumbled from
Some derelicts bar
Throwæ out his hands
An leaned on a car
An pretty soon this girl
Come up to him
Said "hey how bout some fun
now, Slim"
Yeah he stuck his hand
In his pocket
An he pulled out a bill
he said "I don't need no fun, little girl
but I sure could use some pills"
cause ... I been broke
An I been throwæ
I been bought
An I been sold
An Helena Montana
Beats hell-in-a-city ... gone cold
An Calgary's like Calvary to me
An Ft. Worth... it ain't worth a damn
An Cheyenne... hell, she ain't shy at all
But I'm damned sure gonna take my ride
Before I fall
yi yi yi whoppi ti e yi
yi yi yi whoppi ti e yi e oh
There's a Montana midnight
Under a moonlight ... tonight
An a Montana girl in the bed ... aæ'aitin
For this tore down old body
That ain't at all ... all right
But she knows he'll be back
Sooner or later
Cause I been broke
An I been throwæ
I been learned
Damned ... I should've knowed
That Helena Montana
Beats hell-in-a-city ... gone cold
yi yi yi whoppi ti e yi
Well I was caught up with myself
On the highway at night
Drivin like a bat outta hell
When I beheld an amazing sight
It was a lonely apparition
By the roadside standing there
With his thumb out in the wilderness
And a halo in his hair
Chorus:
He said "Gimme a ride to heaven boy
I'll Show you paradise
Yeah gimme a ride to heaven boy
My name is Jesus Christ"
So I come screeching to a halt
I said "Hop on in"
He sais "thanks a lot for the lift
I forgive you of your sins
Yeah I just come from Jerusalem
Where things are going bad
Ahhh gimme a ride to heaven boy
I need to talk to my dad"
Chorus
Well I didn't know what to do
So I jammed her down in gear
Kind a kicked my feet beneath the seat
I was trying to hide the beer
Ahhh but he just grinned and said "My friend,
I know you must think it's odd
But you got nothin to fear about drinkin a beer
If you share it with the son of God"
Chorus
Well I saw good news in his baby blues
So I stomped it on the floor
I said you have to show me how to get there
I ain't been before
"Well itæ¯ a hard place to find" he said
"But I'll give you a little clue
It ain't somewhere up in the air
Its sittin right here inside with you"
Then right in the middle of that perfect smile
From his robes he pulled a gun
An stuck it up beside my head and said
"How's this for Kingdom Come?"
Well I pulled off scared but I heard him say
As he left me beneath the stars
"The Lord moves in mysterious ways
and tonight, my son ... Heæ¯ gonna use your car"
Well I'm feelin easy baby
Breezin through the blues
Bout half-sleazy baby
But who's to pick-n-choose
I got the tattoos
A pierced ear
A bottle of that rot-gut booze
Yeah I ain't Pat Boone
But I sure just as soon
Have me a pair
Aæis white buck dancin shoes
We go dancin into the darkness
With the headlights on the trees
You don't have to be up-town
To get low-down with me
Cause I'm feelin easy baby Ain't got nothin
I ain't proud to show
Hair's a little greasy baby
But it's slick-back ... under control
Out on the boulevards
In the bright lights
In your Coup de Ville
Yeah I ain't no Cadillac buyer
But I sure do admire
Your long lean chrome line
Laid back luxury ... automobile
We go drivin into the darkness
With the headlights on the trees
You don't have to be up-town
to get low-down with me
Running naked down the state
highway
Runnin naked in the middle of the
Runnin naked like a tom catæ¯
behind
Runnin naked but the cat donæ°
seem to mind
Give me your heart
Iæ£l give you mine first
Give me your time
Iæ£l give you my trust
Buck naked now
Like when I was born
When will we find out
Why does it take so long
Buck naked now
Buck naked now
Buck naked now
In the eyes of the lord
Running naked like the day when I
was born
Theyæ®e all naked in the land where
I come from
Iæ¦ a long way from the great high
plains now
Weæ®e all naked if you turn us
inside out
Buck naked now
We ainæ° got no clothes
Bare assed for sure
in the eyes of god
Naked in my heart
Naked in my soul
Well, how does it feel
Does anybody know
Buck naked now
Buck naked now
Buck naked now
In the eyes of the lord
well, weæ®e naked inside
youæ®e naked too
well thereæ¯ nothing to fear
Snow White Angel
On the wings
Of a snow white angel
He played steel guitar
And the drugs
Broke his brain
Off into angles
But his fingers
Played true to his heart
Billy (I)
Ah Billy
You got diamond
Sparkle blue eyes tonight
Yeah Billy
You got the pistol
In your soul
And the mariachi music
Makes you crazy all ' right
Hey down at Rose's
Santa Rosa New Mexico
Ft. Sumner
He was born in New York City
On a cold and a windy day
Yeah his Momma didn't love him
Cause she throwed him away
On the doorsteps of this woman
Who took in wash to make her way
And she raised him with a vengeance
So he left her the same damn way
Well this hobo named him Billy
On a train to the level land
He said Boy you can make it easy
With a shovel in your hand
If you can just get to Lincoln
County
Dig for gold in the Indian land
He said Hobo I'm a loner
I'll take my gold with an outlaw
band
And they heard thunder
In Ft. Sumner New Mexico
And they heard thunder
In Ft. Sumner New Mexico
Loneliness
Hey loneliness
You say it's doing you in
Ah but you still got
Some playing to do
And that won't end
Billy
But you been missing
What you been kissing
For years
You just can't recognize
A sacred heart
When she bleeds for you
Billy
You just keep on playing
Like New Mexico
Is the whole
God damned world
And you got the floor
Billy
Yeah but loneliness
You say it's doing you in
Ah but you still got
Some playing to do
And that wonæ° end
Billy
Lonely Road
He played steel guitar
In a rock n roll bar
And he'd run to his car
Beneath the stars
Yeah it's New Mexico
Wherever you are
When your 31
On the running
Yeah you might wonder
But you'll never know
That mystery boy
With them sleazy clothes
His flashing smile
His lightning hands
He gonna take what he wants
On the Pecos Grande
In the Promised Land
Yeah Billy the Boy
He felt the pistol joy
Shakin his hands
On the Mountain
Yeah he did what he did
Then he run and he hid
His blood bubbled up
In the fountains
Blood bubbled up
In the fountains
Yeah whiskey flows
And the peyote grows
Through a thousand night times
A thousand shows
And the desert burns
But a cold wind blows
On a lonely road
New Mexico
Billy (II)
Ah Billy
You got dimes
In your blue eyes tonight
Yeah Billy
You got the lead
In your soul
And you're bleedin to death
Beneath the dance hall lights
Ah Billy
It's X-Mas on the Isthmus of Panama
We're listless this Christmas
No Santa Claus
No wise men, no angels
No mistletoe trucks
No reindeer
No shepherds
We're shit out of luck
Ah, we hung all our stockings
On the palm trees with care
Stayed up all night
Still nothin' there
So we snorted some incense
And shot up some myrrh
Stayed up two more days
Just to make sure
Ah it's X-Mas on the Isthmus of Panama
It's hopeless, we're dopeless
No Santa Claus
No wise men, no angels
No mistletoe trucks
No reindeer, no shepherds
We're shit out of luck
Bethlehem, bethle-her, bethle-you
Bethle-me, mucho
Ah, there's something about X-Mas
That brings me to tears
Snowmen an chestnuts
An roastin' reindeers
That story from the Bible
God's only son
The immaculate injection
Ah, you know the one
Well, they wadn't from around here
They was Judean strangers
So they called up the front desk
"Let me speak to the manger"
There was horses, there was cows
There was sheep, there was pigs
Mary asked Joseph
"Hey who booked this gig?"
Ah, it's X-Mas on the Isthmus of Panama
We're shiftless, we're giftless
No Santa Claus
No wise men, no angels
No mistletoe trucks
No reindeer, no shepherds
We're shit out of luck
Bethlehem, bethle-her, bethle-you
Well
He took his first release
On a highway
In a 1953 green Chevrolet
An he was carryin and awful load
For just a 15 year old
'Til he laid his mind
On the center line
An turned up the radio
Goin a hundred miles an hour
Down the blue asphaltum line
Listenin to the Wolfman of Del Rio
He didn't give a damn
About the trouble he was in
Yeah deep down in his soul
He just wantedå¼o go
An you can tell by the look on his face
He's all caught up with the need
To trade in some emptied out spaces
For some speeeeeeed
An that good ol' American Dream
She took her first release
On the back seat
Of a 1961 black V-8 Ford
An she just give up al control
On that vinyl tuck-and-roll
Breathin hard
With a dark-eyed boy
That she barely even knowed
Goin a hundred miles an hour
Down the blue asphaltum line
Listenin to the Wolfman of Del Rio
She didn't give a damn
About the trouble she'd get in
Yeah deep down in her soul
She just wantedå¼o flow
An you can tell by the paint on her face
She's all made-up for the need
To trade in some emptied out places
For some speeeeeeed
An that good ol' American Dream
Now they circle one another
Armed with the lives from their past
They fight to the death for their lies
'Til the bad feelings pass
Then they sit
An they smoke
An they drink
An they talk an talk an talk an talk
And then they stalk around
Like they're lookin for something they've lost
But can never again be found
And it's crazy
Yeah crazy in the backyards
the bedrooms
the kitchens
Crazy out in the streets
Ahhh
Through all their cities
And even smaller towns
It most certainly seems
Some disease of the dreams
Has been goin 'round
It most certainly seems
Some disease of the dreams
Has been goin 'round
Goin a hundred miles an hour
Down the blue asphaltum line
I remember standing
All scrubbed down and clean
Tapping my foot
By the record machine
An I was watching you dancing
watchin you prancin
watchin you glancin
At me...so
I took my first chance
And I asked you to dance
And we touched the first time with a song flying by
And when the blue of your eyes
Met my blues down inside
Well I knew...that we two...could fly
Through
Thirty years of confuscions and change
Thirty years of the stress and the strain
Thirty years to be accused and to blame
Ahhh thirty years that don't mean a thing
When you put them beside
Them good songs we sang
Now I'm standing
But roughed up and mean
Kicking my boots
At the record machine
Til I remember the dances
remember the chances
remember you glancin
At me...so
I just brush off my pants
And I ask you to dance
And we touch once again with the song flying home
And that smile all your own
Still beats all I've ever known
So I laugh...and I moan
'Cause we two have flown
Through
Thirty years of the storms and the rains
Thirty years of the fears and the pains
Thirty years of the wars and the games
Ahhh
Thirty years that don't mean a thing
When you put them beside
Standing in the spotlight
Listening to the crowd
Screaming for his insides
Wantin him to let it out
But can they handle what they want?
Can they handle what they get?
There's a creature coiled inside
Been wantin out 3 hundred thousand years
Hits one lick on his guitar
Holds it to the ground
Tryin to kill every livin thing
A hundred miles around
Your Momma warned you about this
Your Daddy bought a gun
But there is no turning back
Once the show has begun
And there's Jesus the promoter
Standing in the wings
Waiting on some cocaine
An twidlin with his rings
He's got a black gospel hairdo
Haloed in the light
Like he could walk on water
If his shoes just weren't so tight
And Magdalina the groupie
Just OD'd on the bus
But she seems kind of stupid
So Hey what's all the fuss?
But someone called the police
Now they're out drivin her around
Trying to cop up some feels
Before they take her downtown
And soundman Izzy Judas
Squats way up in the booth
Smokin ganja like some Buddha
In his quest for the truth
And all their is is highs
Izzy's fingers on the board
Got his 30 piece of silver
Throws a kiss out to the Lord
Ah standing in the spotlight
Listening to the crowd
Hits one lick on his guitar
Holds it to the ground
Tryin to kill every livin thing
A hundred miles around
Your Momma warned you about this
Your Daddy bought a gun
There is no turning back
Ah standing in the kitchen
Looking out the window
Wondering when sheæ£l come home
You know sheæ¯ out drinking
And you been thinking
When she gets back youæ£l be gone
But when she finally comes in
Youæ£l still be there
To hear her swear
Baby Iæ¦ sorry itæ£l never ever happen again
Walking the floors
Room to Room
Yeah youæ®e standing in the living room
Looking out the window
Clutching ahold of the drapes
Your hands are kinda shaking
Feel something breaking
You must not have what it takes
But when she finally comes in
Youæ£l still be there
To hear her swear
Baby Iæ¦ sorry itæ£l never ever happen again
Walking the floors
Room to Room
Yeah youæ®e standing in the bedroom
Looking out the window
Peeking through the blinds
Your stomachæ¯ in a knot
Takes everything you got
To keep from losing your mind
But when she finally comes inåuess what?
Youæ£l still be there
To hear her swear
Baby Iæ¦ sorry itæ£l never ever happen again
You hear a car
Run to the glass
Press your nose on the pane
Watch it pass
And the years go by
Room to Room
drunkards turn around
Now sheæ¯ in the kitchen
Looking out the window
And youæ®e the one thatæ¯ gone
Youæ®e out drunk as a skunk
She says sheæ£l leave but she wonæ°
Because now itæ¯ just her turn
And when you finally come in
Well itæ¯ only fair
When you hear yourself swear
Baby Iæ¦ sorry itæ£l never ever happen again
Walking the floors
Chorus:
Missouri born
Red leg boy
He just born
Yeah to playin the ball
Ain't much good
For much else at all
He just born
Yeah to playin the ball
Run from home
He couldn't wait
To hold his ground
Hey behind the plate
Hit the ball
You're on your own
Same damn thing
You tryin to get back home
Chorus
Lived his life
Movin around
Playin the ball
Hey from town to town
Saw everything
He wanted to see
Weren't nothin else
That he wanted to be
Chorus
Got too old
To play the ball
Settled down
But remembered it all
Lived it out
Until he died
Cussin the Yankees
Ah Satisfied
Ho down down
Ho down dee
Red bird dancin
In custody
Goin down
New Orleans
Red bird dancin
An a red bird sing
Red bird sing
Red bird do
New Orleans
An a red bird blue
I been born
An I'm gonna die
Blood red wing
You gonna make me fly
Goin in
A red bird den
Ain't gonna
Come out again
Ho down down
Ho down dee
Red bird dancin
In custody
Ho down down
Ho down dee
Red bird dance
A penitentiary
A jailer stoned
An he barred the door
Red bird gone... yeah
To fly no more
Black crow see
Black crow knew
New Orleans is where
The red bird flew
I been born
An I'm gonna die
Blood red wing
You gonna make me cry
Rusty wing
A daed dark thing
Crows too loud now
When the red bird sing
Ho down down
Ho down dee
Red bird dance
Well I drove down to the drive-in
Then I drove in
Yeah I asked that carhop for a coke
Said...let's go for a little spin
She said...I'm losin you boy
Losin you
Somewhere between the burgers and the malt
I said...if you won't pass your pepper, sugar
Then I don't want none of your salt
An I drove off
Yeah I drove down the main drag
Smack in the middle of town
Turned on my radio
An let my leatherette top...down
Yeah I was cruisin out Broadway
Draggin down Main
du do de du do de you do de you do de you
And just then the dj on the radio said
Pink and Black
She's comin back again
An I drove in
(An when I turned up that radio...this is what I heard)
Wooooooooo
If you ever need somebody to love you
If you ever need somebody to care
Stick your finger...up in the air
An baby I'll be there
'Cause Pink and Black is comin back, Pink and Black is
comin back, Pink and Black is comin back...for you and me
An if you ever need to boogie-woogie
An if you ever need to dirty bob...ummmbop
Well baby don't stop...ummmbop
'Cause I'll be dancin there too
Whoooooooooit
An if you ever need some brown penny-loafers
If you ever need some bobby-sox...well baby don't leave the hop
Just stay on top and bop...like we did in school
Yeah...we'll both be cool
(chorus)
So come with me...to 1953
An we'll bring back...all of our used-to-be's
Yeah...Pink and Black...she's comin back
For you and me
Yeah, some people think that I must be crazy
But my real name is just Jesse James
An I left them half crocked hard knocks of black rock county
Just to ride on that New Delhi Train
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Riding down that New Delhi Line
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Yeah, I left my love behind
Yeah, I left my love behind
And I'm just a country boy without angels
Yeah, just a country boy without gold
An I been to silver cities load of rainbows
Where I pillaged and I killed and I stole
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Riding down that New Delhi Line
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Yeah, I left my life behind
Yeah, I left my life behind
And I killed [incomprehensible] a man named Smiling Jordan 02.49
Yeah, I killed him with one of my guns
And I knew I had did what I had not ought to
But I welcomed the run from what I'd done
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Riding down that New Delhi Line
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Yeah, I left my guns behind
Yeah, I left my guns behind
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Riding down that New Delhi Line
Riding on that New Delhi Freight Train
Yeah, I left my guns behind
Well it come in from the southwest
In the middle of the night
Hey loomed over Lubbock
What a gawd awmighty sight
Yeah it dipped down into the darkness
All crazy out of control
Hey throwed around that panhandle town
Till ft couldn't throw ft around no more
Yeah some blamed secret government
Projects
Some blamed it on the president
Some blamed wind from the wings of Jesus
Just flappin round heaven sent
Yeah but I donæ° know (he don't know)
But I don't know (he don't know)
They don't know ... huh huh
But when a high pressure zone...
Hits a low
Somethin gotta give ... yeah somethin
Gotta go
An like a vampire over the broadway
It showed no moral code
It'd lake out a mighty church of gawd
And leave a honky tonk by the road
And tiny creatures went flying
Right out of prairie dog town
Smack up against the great plains life
Little bones in the rain failin down
Yeah some blamed communist sabotage
Some blamed rednecks on the right
Some blamed teenage restlessness
Rock n roll gone berserk in the night
Yeah but I don't know (it's a UFO)
But I don't know (it's a UFO)
They don't know ... huh
But when a high pressure zone...
Hits a low
Somethin gotta give ... yeah somethin
Gotta go
Well this hub-bub on the hub
Laid a city to its knees
Sweet memories beneath the rubble
Shattered glass and broken dreams
Yeah but in that wake of destruction
This dazed and battered town
Pulled its ass up out of the debris
And put its feet back up on the ground
Yeah some said it was the ghost of
Buddy
Some said the ghost of Cain
Some said the soul of the prodigal son
Is just stumblin back home again
