Gao Ming (Chinese: 高 明; pinyin: Gāo Míng; Wade–Giles: Kao Ming; c. 1305 – 1370), also known as Kao Ming, Gao Zecheng, and the Cabbage Root Taoist, was a Chinese poet and playwright during the Yuan Dynasty.
Gao was born and grew up in Wenzhou. In 1345, needing to find a way to support his widowed mother, he sat and passed the Imperial Examinations and was given a post in Zhejiang (Chouzhou) as a minor district official. In this capacity he served under the writer Su Tianjue, and helped edit some of Su's work. From 1348 to 1351, Gao was involved in suppressing the Red Turban Rebellion, taking military action against the early Han rebel Fang Guozhen. After Fang's defeat, Gao was given a post as assesor of Shaoxing. Fang later attempted to employ Gao as a teacher, an offer which Gao politely declined.
Dissatisfied with the civil service, he retired in 1356 and moved to Ningbo (Yinxian) to write for the theatre, focussing on the nanxi genre. His friend Liu Ji attempted to draw him out of retirement by persuading the Hongwu Emperor to involve Gao in the writing of the official history of the Yuan; Gao, however, declined, citing mental illness.

Gao Ming joined Changchun Yatai on loan in 2006.

Gao /ɡaʊ/ is a city in Mali and the capital of the Gao Region. The city is located on the River Niger, 320 km (200 mi) east-southeast of Timbuktu on the left bank at the junction with the Tilemsi valley.
For much of its history Gao was an important commercial centre involved in the trans-Saharan trade. In the 9th century external Arabic writers described Gao as an important regional power and by the end of the 10th century the local ruler was said to be a Muslim. Towards the end of the 13th century Gao became part of the Mali Empire, but in first half of the 15th century the town regained its independence and with the conquests of Sonni Ali (ruled 1464–1492) it became the capital of the Songhai Empire. The Empire collapsed after the Moroccan invasion in 1591 and the invaders chose to make Timbuktu their capital. By the time of Heinrich Barth's visit in 1854, Gao had declined to become an impoverished village with 300 huts constructed from matting. In 2009, the urban commune had a population of 86,633.

This hovering shadow I see
It's touch of death surrounds me
No glimmer of hope in a distant sight
Memories of life
On this vision they feed
Leaving this world
The end is complete
Surely the bottom deep
Visions dark as never seen
Looking down on an empty shell
Bones left for the earth to dissolve
We have reached the end my friend
This is the end
Surely the last descend
Those who enter can never leave
As darkness swallows all light
The end is complete
Surely the bottom deep
Visions dark as never seen
Looking down on an empty shell
Bones left for the earth to dissolve
We have reached the end my friend
We have reached the end
We have reached the end
We have reached the end
