Anthony Carr "Tony" Lash is an American musician and music producer, most notable as a founding member of Heatmiser as the band's drummer. He played with Elliott Smith, in the high school band. Lash played the flute; Smith, the clarinet.
He played drums in Smith's band Stranger Than Fiction during high school. He engineered and played electric piano on the No. 2 song "Never Felt Better" (from No Memory).
As a producer and engineer, Lash has worked with The Dandy Warhols, Eric Matthews and the English band Lowgold, with whom he has produced and played drums on two albums, Just Backward of Square, Welcome To Winners and mastered their third studio album Promise Lands.
Steven Paul "Elliott" Smith (August 6, 1969 – October 21, 2003) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised primarily in Texas, and lived for much of his life in Portland, Oregon, where he first gained popularity. Smith's primary instrument was the guitar, though he was also proficient with piano, clarinet, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica. Smith had a distinctive vocal style, characterized by his "whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery", and used multi-tracking to create vocal layers, textures, and harmonies.
After playing in the rock band Heatmiser for several years, Smith began his solo career in 1994, with releases on the independent record labels Cavity Search and Kill Rock Stars (KRS). In 1997, he signed a contract with DreamWorks Records, for which he recorded two albums. Smith rose to mainstream prominence when his song "Miss Misery"—included in the soundtrack for the film Good Will Hunting (1997)—was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category in 1998.

The Dandy Warhols is an American rock band, formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1994 by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström. Keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford joined them. Hedford left in 1998 and was replaced by Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer. The band's name is a play on the name of American pop artist Andy Warhol.
The band gained recognition after they were signed to Capitol Records and released their major label album debut, ...The Dandy Warhols Come Down, in 1997. In 2001, the band rose to new levels of fame after their song "Bohemian Like You" enjoyed extensive exposure thanks to its being featured in a Vodafone advertisement. The Dandy Warhols have released ten studio albums to date.
The band was formed in Portland, Oregon in 1994 by Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Peter Holmström. Soon after, drummer Eric Hedford joined, and following an unsuccessful experiment with Taylor-Taylor's girlfriend on bass guitar, keyboardist Zia McCabe joined the band after Taylor-Taylor saw her working in a coffee house. Taylor-Taylor described the band's beginning as a group of friends who "needed music to drink to". The Dandy Warhols performed in bars throughout Portland and became well known for their nudity-filled live shows. At their first gig in 1994, they were approached by Tim/Kerr Records, who offered to pay for the recording of an album. The result was 1995's Dandys Rule OK, which combined elements of 1960s garage rock, the then-popular BritPop genre, and some of the earlier shoegaze music approach.

The Tony Lash layout’s impact goes well beyond size. It’s as finely detailed as any scale layout you’ll see. Worldwide video distribution by: http://www.janson.com Please subscribe and share for more great train videos: http://bit.ly/TracksAheadSubscribe Apart from the blackened third rail that runs down the middle of the nearly one linear mile of stainless steel GarGraves track and the 86 Ross Custom Switches (mostly nos. 4, 6, and 8), this is a scale model railroad. But it’s still a toy train layout, and Tony has no desire to “remove the center rail.” He has no interest in waybills or point-to-point operation. “I’m just a runner,” he says without apology. He sees the layout as a way of getting away from the stress of life. Though the look of the layout might suggest otherwise, Tony ...

The early days of the late Elliott Smith's solo career coexisted with Heatmiser, the Portland rock quartet he formed with Neil Gust, Sam Coomes and Tony Lash. The singer-songwriter kept his material for the two projects largely divided -- or so it seemed. Lash, who served as the band's drummer and continues to work as a Portland producer, has posted a Heatmiser version of Smith's "Christian Brothers," a track released in solo form on 1995's Elliott Smith. "This was originally arranged as a Heatmiser song," Lash commented on the song's SoundCloud page. "Recorded in 1995." Lash's version offers the song in full-band mode, Smith's chords electrified and his voice in crisp fidelity. It's not far from the arrangement Smith himself offered live on his 2000 tour for Figure 8, which saw him turni...
