Qawra (Maltese: Il-Qawra, Maltese pronunciation: [ʔawra]) is a zone within St. Paul's Bay in the Northern Region, Malta. It is located close to Buġibba and Salina, and it is a popular tourist resort, containing many hotels and restaurants.
Although there is no beach, many people swim and bathe off the rocks, which provide ample space for sun bathing. It is popular with tourists who like to walk by the sea at night.
In around 1638, the Order of St. John built Qawra Tower at Qawra Point. A battery was built around it in 1715, while an entrenchment wall was added in the 1760s. Today, the tower and battery are a restaurant, and parts of the entrenchment can still be seen.
The town is home to many water-sport activities, including banana boat rides and speed boat rides. The area is also well known as the "touristy" area of Malta due to the many bars which show British football. Summer temperatures can be as hot as 40 °C (104 °F), with an average of over 30 °C (86 °F). Casinos, bars, and clubs are also a major part of this small town.
Saint Paul and Apostle Paul usually refers to Paul the Apostle, the Christian religious leader.
Saint Paul's Bay (Maltese: San Pawl il-Baħar, Italian: Baia di San Paolo) is a town in the Northern Region of Malta. It is situated sixteen kilometres (9.9 miles) northwest of the capital city Valletta. Saint Paul's Bay is largest town in the Northern Region and the seat of the Northern Regional Committee.
Its name refers to the shipwreck of Saint Paul, as documented in the Acts of the Apostles, due to the tradition that Saint Paul was shipwrecked on the isles, named St. Paul's Islands, which are situated near St Paul's Bay. According to the Bible, St. Paul was shipwrecked on an island which many scholars have identified as Malta on his voyage from Caesarea to Rome. The Maltese people believe that it was St. Paul who laid the foundations of Christianity on the island.
The localities of Burmarrad, Qawra, Buġibba, Xemxija, Mselliet, and San Martin as well as part of Bidnija and Mistra, form part of St. Paul's Bay Local Council. The area of the locality is 14.47 km2 (6 sq mi).
Thomas Cook (22 November 1808 – 18 July 1892) of Melbourne, Derbyshire, England founded the travel agency Thomas Cook & Son (popularly nicknamed Cook's Tours) that became Thomas Cook AG before eventually becoming Thomas Cook Group in 2007.
Thomas Cook was born to John and Elizabeth Cook, who lived at 9 Quick Close in the village of Melbourne, Derbyshire.
The couple's first child, he was named after Elizabeth's father, Thomas Perkins. John Cook died when Thomas was three years old, and his mother remarried later that same year.
At the age of 10, Cook started working as an assistant to a local market gardener for a wage of sixpence a week. At the age of 14, he secured an apprenticeship with John Pegg, and spent five years as a cabinet maker.
He was brought up as a strict Baptist, and joined his local temperance society. In February 1826, Cook became a preacher, and toured the region as a village evangelist, distributing pamphlets and occasionally working as a cabinet maker to earn money. After working as a part-time publisher of Baptist and Temperance pamphlets, he became a Baptist minister in 1828.

Malta (i/ˈmɒltə/; Maltese: [ˈmɐltɐ]), officially the Republic of Malta (Maltese: Repubblika ta' Malta), is a Southern European island country comprising an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. It lies 80 km (50 mi) south of Italy, 284 km (176 mi) east of Tunisia, and 333 km (207 mi) north of Libya. The country covers just over 316 km2 (122 sq mi), with a population of just under 450,000 (despite an extensive emigration programme since the Second World War), making it one of the world's smallest and most densely populated countries. The capital of Malta is Valletta, which at 0.8 km2, is the smallest national capital in the European Union. Malta has two official languages: Maltese and English.
Malta's location has historically given it great strategic importance as a naval base, and a succession of powers, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, Normans, Sicilians, Spanish, Knights of St. John, French and British, have ruled the islands.
Qawra is one of the most popular tourist areas in Malta, known for being a hotspot for chilled out vibes (yes that is a bit of an oxymoron). With the towns of Bugibba and St Paul Bay making up the hub of the area, this is the place to be if you want to have a holiday in Malta that is nothing but an exploration in relaxing by the pool and only fretting about what to wear to the beach. With much of the tourist hotspots being nicely huddled on the east of the island, Bugibba is a preferred social spot for locals form the west and south. Qawra has grown exponentially over the last few decades as it was originally just a small farming and fishing area. The area is also a relocation spot for many British ex-pats who want to enjoy life in the Mediterranean but don’t want to be bogged down the “...

To say the least, Liza and I are definitely NOT the type to stay in such accommodation, subject to extenuating circumstances. However, it was such a good last minute deal (we booked it 6 days before we left), and it actually worked out cheaper than hostels, AirBnB, etc, that there was simply no point in any other option. Taken on Friday 03/February/2017.

Bugibba, Malta - Thomas Cook Guide http://www.thomascook.com/lp/1x6-enctae/holidays-bugibba/ Bugibba is a small town with a big personality on the north east coast of Malta. Forming part of St. Paul's Bay, alongside Qawra, it is the tourist hub of the island, attracting a fun-loving crowd every summer. Vile forms of Necros lie rotting my mind
Feasting like maggots - maggots in flesh
So left your ruined cortex behind
Now the maggot knows glee as it nibbles on your spine!
[Chorus:]
Maggots! Maggots!
Maggots are falling like rain!
Putrid pus-pools vomit blubonic plague
The bowels of the beast reek of puke
How to describe such vileness on the page
World maggot waits for the end of the age!
[Chorus]
Beneath a sky of maggots I walked
Until those maggots began to fall
I gaped at God to receive my gift
Bathed in maggots till the planet shit
[Repeat chorus a lot]
