At the 2010 Winter Olympics, she became the first woman to land three triple axel jumps in the same competition.
Mao Asada was born in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan. She was named after the Japanese actress Mao Daichi. She attended Nagoya International School until the middle of 1st grade. After transferring, she graduated from Takabari Elementary School and Takabaridai Junior High. She received her high school diploma from Chukyo High School on March 15, 2009. After that, she enrolled in Chukyo University.
Her sister Mai Asada (two years older) is also a figure skater and finished 6th at the 2006 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. She is now skating in shows.
Yuzuru Hanyū (羽生 結弦, Hanyū Yuzuru?) (born December 7, 1994 in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan) is a Japanese figure skater. He is the 2012 World bronze medalist, the 2010 World Junior Champion, the 2011 Four Continents silver medalist, the 2009-10 Junior Grand Prix Final Champion and a two-time Japanese junior national champion.
Hanyu began skating at the age of four. He first competed nationally as a novice skater in the 2004-05 season; he skated at the 2004 Japan Novice Championships in the Novice B category, which is the lower of the two categories at the novice level, and won the gold medal in this competition. In the 2006-07 season, Hanyu competed at the 2006 Japan Novice Championships in the Novice A category and won the bronze medal. This placement earned him an invitation to compete at the 2006 Japan Junior Championships, where he placed 7th.
Hanyu competed at the 2007 Japan Novice Championships in the Novice A category and won the event. He was invited to compete in the 2007 Japan Junior Championships, where he won the bronze medal.
Daisuke Takahashi (髙橋 大輔, Takahashi Daisuke?, born March 16, 1986) is a Japanese figure skater, notable as the 2010 Olympic bronze medalist, the 2010 World Champion, a two-time (2007, 2012) World silver medalist, a two-time (2008, 2011) Four Continents Champion, and a five-time (2006-2008, 2010, 2012) Japanese national champion.
Takahashi represented Japan at the 2006 Winter Olympics and at the 2010 Winter Olympics. His bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics was the first Olympic medal for Japan in the men's singles event.
Born in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, Takahashi began figure skating when he was 8 years old. When a skating rink was built near his house, he went with his mother to watch the skaters at the rink, and afterwards, enrolled in the figure skating club. His mother intended for him enroll in the ice hockey club, but he didn't like the protective gear of ice hockey, so he enrolled in the figure skating club, instead.
Takahashi had a successful junior career, winning the 2002 World Junior Championships, in his first, and only, appearance at that competition. Takahashi is the first Japanese man to have won the title.

Suzuku trains in Nagoya, Japan. After her competitive career, she would like to become a choreographer. She suffered from anorexia nervosa and therefore missed the entire 2003–2004 season of skating. Suzuki works for Toho Real Estate which has its own skating rink.
Suzuki won the bronze medal at the 2001–2002 Junior Grand Prix Final. After having a successful junior career, Suzuki was hampered by her struggles with an eating disorder which began at age 18 when she left home for university. Her weight having fallen to 32 kg, she was unable to jump and missed the entire 2003–2004 season. It took her a year to gain back the weight she had lost. Suzuki returned to competitive skating in the 2004–2005 season after being inspired by Shizuka Arakawa's victory at the 2004 World Championships.
That old black magic has me in its spell
That old black magic that you weave so well
Icy fingers up
and down my spine
The same old witchcraft when your eyes meet mine
The same old tingle that I feel
inside
When that elevator starts its ride
Down and down I go, round and round I go
Like a leaf that's
caught in the tide
I should stay away but what can I do
I hear your name, and I'm aflame
Aflame with
such a burning desire
That only your kiss can put out the fire
You are the lover that I've waited for
The mate that fate had me created for
And every time your lips meet mine
Baby down and down I go,
all around I go
In a spin, loving the spin that I'm in
I don't know how or where to start, here we're standing
again
And I see now from where we are, that our road has come
to an end
Though we've come this far, I don't know why
But I still can't see who you are
I don't want you to cry, don't want us to say goodbye
But I know that we're falling apart
I don't need your lies, and if you don't sympathize
Tell me how will I know who you are
It's too late now that we've gone this far, to see
what's in it within
Though we said that we'll never part, baby I've been
trying too hard
To believe in love, I don't know why
But I still can't see who you are
I don't want you to cry, don't want us to say goodbye
But I know that we're falling apart
I don't need your lies, and if you don't sympathize
Tell me how will I know who you are
Tell me how will I know who you are
Don't worry, I promise, it's for the better
So I think we should let it go now
And maybe we'll find love again
I don't want you to cry (I don't want you to cry)
But I know that (but I know that, know that we're
falling baby)
I don't need (don't need no more lies), no
(Tell me darling, how will I know who you are)
I don't want you to cry (I don't want you to cry)
Don't want us to say goodbye (but I know that, know
that we're falling baby)
But I know that we're falling apart
I don't need your lies (don't need no more lies), and
if you don't sympathize
(Tell me darling, how will I know who you are)
Tell me how will I know who you are
Tell me how will I know who you are
If you could look inside my heart
Then you would know
Your love has played the greatest part
If you could see inside my mind
Then you would know
I think about you all the time
No need to question
You will have my affection
For better or for worse
For richer or for poorer
I promise - I do
In sickness and in health
From now until forever
I'll always love you
And so with all of my heart
Till death do us part - I do
If you could walk inside my shoes
Then you would know
Know how much I'm into you
If you could feel what I feel
Then you would know
I'm falling hard for your appeal
No need to question
You will have my affection
For better or for worse
For richer or for poorer
I promise - I do
In sickness and in health
From now until forever
I'll always love you
And so with all of my heart
Till death do us part - I do
To have and to hold
Through young and through old
In good or in bad times baby
Yes I do, I do, I do
For better or for worse
For richer or for poorer
I promise - I do
In sickness and in health
From now until forever
I'll always love you
And so with all of my heart
That old black magic has me in its spell
That old black magic that you weave so well
