How Did BC and AD Begin
In this Let’s Teach video, I’ll answer the question, “how did B.C. and A.D. Begin?” When talking about world history, we always use the terms “B.C.” and “A.D.” to refer to the period when a certain event took place. For instance, we might say that Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C. on the Ides of March or that Jesus Christ was crucified sometime in 30 A.D. after his execution was ordered by the Roman Prefect of Judea, Pontius Pilate.
Here you will also get to know about Dobruja, Romania, Bulgaria, BCE, and CE. Are you curious to know 'why is there no zero'? Watch the full video to find out.

In this fascinating video, we delve into the life and reign of Qa'a, the enigmatic last king of Egypt's First Dynasty. Also known as Qáa or Ka'a, his reign of 33 years in the late 30th century BC marked a pivotal moment in ancient Egyptian history. Discover the intriguing details surrounding Qa'a's lineage, including speculation about his parents and the tradition of passing down the throne. Manetho, a renowned historian, provides varying reign lengths and hellenized names associated with Qa'a, sparking further mystery surrounding his rule. Explore the limited knowledge available about Qa'a's reign, with mentions of his second Sed festival and stone vessel inscriptions giving us glimpses into the length and customs of his reign. High officials' mastaba tombs dating from Qa'a's era, such as Merka, Henuka, Neferef, and Sabef, shed light on the wealth and prosperity during his time. However, evidence suggests that Qa'a's death sparked a dynastic war among rival royal houses vying for the vacant throne. Controversial figures like Sneferka and Horus Bird emerge, fighting for power before Hotepsekhemwy ultimately ascended the throne and established the Second Dynasty. Explore intriguing clues, such as grave robberies and arsons, which point towards the legitimization of Hotepsekhemwy's rule and the tumultuous events surrounding this period. The tomb of Qa'a in Abydos, uncovered by German archaeologists in 1993, is a testament to his long and significant reign, as evidenced by its impressive size and the presence of 26 satellite burials. Recent discoveries, like the seal impression of Hotepsekhemwy found at Qa'a's tomb entrance, provide intriguing evidence to support Manetho's account of succession. Delve into the captivating world of ancient Egypt as we explore the life, secrets, and mysterious successors of Qa'a, and uncover the hidden history behind this pivotal figure. Don't miss out on this extraordinary voyage into the past! Stay tuned for more untold secrets and intriguing archaeological discoveries.
