Medgar Wiley Evers (July 2, 1925 – June 12, 1963) was an African American civil rights activist from Mississippi involved in efforts to overturn segregation at the University of Mississippi. Evers was assassinated by Byron De La Beckwith, a member of the White Citizens' Council. As a veteran, Evers was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. His murder and the resulting trials inspired civil rights protests, as well as numerous works of art, music, and film.
Medgar Evers was born July 2, 1925 in Decatur, Mississippi, the son of Jesse and her husband, James Evers; they owned a small farm and he also worked at a sawmill. Evers was the third of five children, after Charles and Elizabeth. His sister Ruth was the youngest. The family also included Eva Lee and Gene, Jesse’s children from a prior marriage. Later
I want to talk it out with you
Try to get my message through
That's not all I want to do
Later
Later
I want to feel your body close
From your head down to your toes
Maybe help you fold your clothes
Later
I want to spread the news, don't want to soft soap you
We're meant to live and love together girl Oh babe
There's nothing I can do, oh darling
I love you
There's no way you can stay home, alone, babe
Later
I want to talk it out with you
Try to get my message through
That's not all I want to do
Later
I've got a job
I've got to move this paper
I guess it's all the same to you
But I can't sit around and wait
Can't Sit around and wait for you.
It never works
You say you'll call me later
And then you never ever do.
I can't sit around and wait
Can't Sit around and wait for you.
Just another cup of coffee,
I'll sit around and wait for you.
I always knew
Yeah, I always knew
You were a liar.
I'm not a king, I'm not a cop.
I'm not here to punish you.
When I really can't see anymore of what the fuss is all
about
It's not my career
To wait and do you favors
I guess it's really nothing do
When I'm running late
You call the undertaker
Because you've got so much shit to do
I can't sit around and wait
Can't sit around and wait for you.
Just one more cigarette,
I'll sit around and wait for you.
I always knew
Yeah, I always knew
You were a liar.
I'm not a king, I'm not a cop.
I'm not here to punish you.
When I really can't see anymore of what the fuss is all
about
Just another cup of coffee,
I'll sit around and wait for you.
Just one more cigarette,
I'll sit around and wait for you.
I guess I really will
I see the sky so blue and it reaches to me
And then it crashes down...reality sinks deep
And then i coil back and sink into defeat
The day is just so cold, my whispers so discreet
I hide in this dark room, this dark warm eases me
The pain's so far away...this time drags perfectly
It's late and i am here...this night is mine to keep
My perfect quiet place...it's late and i'm at peace
The night sky seems so pure
I breathe so deep and i am here
This dark room is so pure
I've seen you around a lot before
Always looking like a movie star
Hanging out with all your friends
In your Porsche Cayenne, for sure
All the girls think you're a dream
And I know just what they mean
In your aviator shades
Always rockin' all your faves
Oh yeah
Your life
Boy you really got it made
Your ride
Yeah your Daddy's getting paid
Your house
And all that stuff you got
Well you might think you're hot
But what I wanna say
If that's what it's gonna take to be
The kind of girl you need
If that's what you're looking for from me
What you want to see
Nothing but material things
I'll catch you later
Do me a favor
If that's the kind of vibe you wanna find
And what's on your mind
If all you want is someone you can buy
I'm leaving you behind
'Cause you don't care about the girl inside
You're a player
So see you later
You never wear the same thing twice
I bet that smile cost quite a price
I know you've never worked a day
But you got it anyway
Your life
Boy you really got it made
Your ride
Yeah your Daddy's getting paid
Your house
And all that stuff you got
Well you might think you're hot
But what I gotta say
If that's what it's gonna take to be
The kind of girl you need
If that's what you're looking for from me
What you want to see
Nothing but material things
I'll catch you later
Do me a favor
If that's the kind of vibe you wanna find
And what's on your mind
If all you want is someone you can buy
I'm leaving you behind
'Cause you don't care about the girl inside
You're a player
So see you later
You're a player
So see you later
So you think that I would spend my time
With someone that plays like you
That I would just fall for you
I think you oughta know by now
That's not enough for me
You're wasting your time with me
I'm gonna make you understand
That I'm not impressed with you
Got better things to do
I'm gonna put you in your place
'Cause I think you need to know
Boy that you gotta go
If that's what it's gonna take to be
The kind of girl you need
If that's what you're looking for from me
What you want to see
Nothing but material things
I'll catch you later
Do me a favor
If that's the kind of vibe you wanna find
And what's on your mind
If all you want is someone you can buy
I'm leaving you behind
'Cause you don't care about the girl inside
You're a player
So see you later
If that's what it's gonna take to be
With someone that plays like you
If that's what you're looking for from me
Like I would just fall for you
That's not enough for me
You're wasting you time with me
If that's that kind of vibe you wanna find
Then I'm not impressed with you
How could you come with me
When you knew all along that you had to go
How could you you watch me sleep
So close to you
Pretending not to know
How could you memorize my name
And forget who i am
How could you think
You're still the same
Believing i can
It's too late to stop pretending
It's too late for a new beginning
Later than the sunset
Later that the rain
Later than ever to love you again
How could you ask for more
With an innocent smile
Trusting me to stay
How could you close the door
And leave me here
Supposing I'm ok
How could you break down
My disguise
And uncover my fears
How could you look into my eyes
Ignoring my tears
It's too late to start pretending
It's too late for a new beginning
Later that the sunset
Later than the rain
Later than ever to love you again
[x2]
How can you come with me
When you knew all along that you had to go
How could you watch me sleep close to you
Pretending not to know
How could you memorize my name
And forget who I am
How could you think you're still the same
Believing I can
REFRAIN:
It's too late to start pretending
It's too late for a new beginning
Later than the sunset
Later than the rain
Later than never
To love you again
How could you ask for more
Than an innocent smile
Trust in me to stay
How could you close the door
And leave me here
Supposing I'm okay
How could you break down my disguise
And uncover my fears
How could you look into my eyes
Ignoring my tears
Repeat REFRAIN
Yeah, yeah
It's too late
[HENRIK]
Later...
When is later?
All you ever hear is "Later, Henrik, Henrik, later."
"Yes, we know, Henrik,
Oh, Henrik, Everyone agrees, Henrik, Please, Henrik!"
You have a thought you're fairly bursting with,
A personal discovery or problem, and it's:
"What's your rush, Henrik?
Shush, Henrik!
Goodness, how you gush, Henrik!
Hush, Henrik!"
You murmur:
"I only-- It's just that--"
"For God's sake, later, Henrik!"
"Henrik... Who is Henrik?
Oh, that lawyer's son, the one who mumbles.
Short and boring,
Yes, he's hardly worth ignoring,
And who cares if he's all dammed--"
I beg your pardon--
"Up inside?"
As I've often stated,
It's intolerable being tolerated.
"Reassure Henrik, Poor Henrik. Henrik, you'll endure
Being pure, Henrik."
Though I've been born, I've never been!
How can I wait around for later?
I'll be ninety on my deathbead
And the late, or, rather, later, Henrik Egerman.
Doesn't anything begin?
GOOD BYE AND FUCK YOU
cant you see that its
to late for your ass
so come take your shit back
why do you
always kick me when im down
lie to me
cuz i no u sleep around
well when i first met u
i thought to myself
that id be with u
and no one else
but i guess i was sorely mistake
please dont tell me that you care
with that open end stare
id be lying if I said
that you were there
so what im trying to say is
GOOD BYE AND FUCK YOU
cant you see that its
to late for your ass
so come take your shit back
why do you
always kick me when im down
lie to me
cuz i no u sleep around
when you talk all i hear is blah blah blah
but you wouldnt think i listen at all
so i just pretend that i dont care
and i know you try to lie
cuz your desperate to deny
all the dirty things you did
with those other guys
so what im trying to say is
why am I always the one
who gets fucked by some slut
and then dumped
and shit on
if it sounds kind of bitter its because
i am so i wrote you this song
