Mark Reed Levin (born September 21, 1957) is a lawyer, author and the host of American syndicated radio show The Mark Levin Show. Levin served in the administration of President Ronald Reagan and was a chief of staff for Attorney General Edwin Meese. He is president of the Landmark Legal Foundation, has authored bestselling books and contributes commentary to various media outlets such as National Review Online.
Mark Reed Levin was born to a Jewish family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Cheltenham High School after three years. After high school, Levin enrolled at Temple University Ambler including summer classes and graduated in 1977 at age 19, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He also earned a juris doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 1980.
Beginning in 1981, Levin served as advisor to several members of President Ronald Reagan's cabinet, eventually becoming Associate Director of Presidential Personnel and ultimately Chief of Staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese; Levin also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education, and Deputy Solicitor of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
The David A. Clarke School of Law is the law school of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). It is Washington, D.C.'s only public law school.
The David A. Clarke School of Law evolved from two predecessor schools: the Antioch School of Law and the District of Columbia School of Law. Antioch School of Law was created in 1972 by Edgar S. and Jean Camper Cahn, who were instrumental in creating the federal Legal Services Corporation and who, generally, championed the rights of low-income people and minorities. The School was also committed to training public interest lawyers and pioneered a comprehensive law clinic education model adopted now, in small part at least, in nearly every law school in the country.[citation needed]
After Antioch University decided to close many of its units around the country, in 1986 the Council of the District of Columbia passed legislation that established the District of Columbia School of Law (DCSL) to retain Antioch School of Law's mission, curriculum, clinical programs, and personnel for the benefit of the District of Columbia. The School was awarded provisional American Bar Association accreditation in 1991 and rapidly grew to nearly 300 students.
A. Clarke (first name and dates of birth and death unknown) was an English cricketer. Clark's batting style is unknown, though it is known he was a right-arm fast bowler.
Clarke made a single first-class appearance for Leicestershire against Essex in the 1902 County Championship at Aylestone Road, Leicester. In this match, he took the wickets of Gilbert Tosetti and Bill Reeves in Essex's first-innings, finishing with figures of 2/70 from 19 overs. In a match which was heavily affected by rain, Clarke wasn't called upon to bat.
Sarah Louise Palin i/ˈpeɪlɨn/ (née Heath; born February 11, 1964) is an American politician, commentator and author. As the Republican Party nominee for Vice President in the 2008 presidential election, she was the first Alaskan on the national ticket of a major party and first Republican woman nominated for the vice presidency. Her book Going Rogue has sold more than two million copies. Since January 2010, she has provided political commentary for Fox News, and hosted a television show, Sarah Palin's Alaska. Five million viewers tuned in for the first episode, a record for The Learning Channel.
She was elected to Wasilla City Council in 1992 and became mayor of Wasilla in 1996. In 2003, after an unsuccessful run for lieutenant governor, she was appointed Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, responsible for overseeing the state's oil and gas fields for safety and efficiency. The youngest person and first woman to be elected Governor of Alaska, Palin held the office from December 2006 until her resignation in July 2009. She has since endorsed and campaigned for the Tea Party movement, as well as several candidates in the 2010 midterm elections. From the time of her Vice Presidential nomination in 2008, Palin was considered a potential candidate for the 2012 presidential election until she announced in October 2011 that she would not run.
