KEYNOTE SPEAKER
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. IftikharAyaz, the chairman of the Human Rights Committee (HRC) International, a body based in London. He is a scholar, educationist, diplomat, human rights campaigner, environmentalist and has wide-ranging career experiences. He will adopt a non-political approach while conveying the message of Islam for peace, equity, rights of humanity, fundamental freedoms, tolerance and justice.
GUEST SPEAKERS
Dr. Ahmad Farouk Musa, founder and chairman of Islamic Renaissance Front (IRF), a think tank and an intellectual movement. A cardiothoracic surgeon and an academic who draws inspiration from Islamic reformist thinkers and does not shy away from controversial topics.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamar Oniah Kamaruzaman, renowned Malaysian Muslim scholar in Comparative Religion. She is currently Associate Professor at the International Islamic University of Malaysia. She is also Director of the International Centre for Alliance of Civilisations.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azmi Sharom is a senior lecturer in the Law Faculty of the University of Malaya, and writes the popular Brave New World column in The Star.
Mr. Khalid Jaafar, executive director of the Malaysian Institute for Policy Research and a noted secular-leaning Muslim intellectual.
Mr. Eugene Yapp, Secretary-General of National Evangelical Christian Fellowship (NECF) Malaysia. Eugene holds a Masters in Christian Studies from the Malaysia Bible Seminary and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London. He was an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya for about 15 years during which he was involved in religious liberty work before entering Christian ministry in a full time capacity.

The Islamic Renaissance Front with the Human Rights Committee (HRC) International, a body that is based in London will be holding a symposium and dinner at the Corus Hotel, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur on 27 March 2014 (Thursday).
The symposium, entitled "Path To Peace" will dwell on the issue of religious freedom, and on the role of religion as a promoter of tolerance, peace, harmony. As such the objective of this symposium is to strive towards a world free from persecution, religious intolerance and human rights abuse.
