She has another half sister, Walda Walters Anderson, born to a different mother.[citation needed]

Verse 1
Operator, please connect me with 1982
I need to make apologies for what I didn't do
I sure do need to tell her that I've thought the whole thing through
And now it's clear that she is what I should have held on to
Chorus
They say hindsight's twenty-twenty
But I'm nearly goin' blind
From starin' at her photograph and wishing she was mine
It's that same ole lost love story
It's sad but it's true
There was a time when she was mine in 1982
Verse 2
Postman can you sell me a special kind of stamp
One to send a letter from this crazy lonely man
Back into the wasted years of my living past
I need to tell her now I know how long my love will last
(Chorus)
Losin' my mind, goin' back in time to 1982
Lets go to the rendez vous
Of the past, me and you
Dj plays deja vu
As we were in 82
I see your face fade to grey
Just wait for the blue monday
Imagine you're dancing
Youre a robot, man machine
I just can't get enough
I don't want a tainted love
I want something from above
But don't go
Just play me moscow discow
Lets go to the rendez vous
Of the past, me and you
Dj plays deja vu
1982 1982
There's nothing here for me and you
19, 1982
You won't get a job anywhere
Not when you've got short hair
There's nothing here for me and you
19, 1982
There's nothing here for me and you
19, 1982
You let jobs go into the distance
Your on the dole for your existence
More Fleeced attention
More forced intentions
There's nothing here for me and you
Can you save this from the inside?
Can you see whats going on?
As her walls crumble down
She's awkwardly seen to be ahead of the crowd
And she's nothing short of star-bound
Unlike everyone she's had
She's a fashion trend that's waiting to happen
But one that never goes out of style
And her name should be in lights above the Hollywood sign
I would give my life to know whats on her mind
But she doesn't like all this hype in her name
She might disappear again
There was something more about her that I knew
I can't imagine someone doing those things to you
Like a flower were all waiting for you to bloom
Connecting everyone to you
Sit around and wait for hours by the phone
And all the while you're wondering will I be alone
So why die?
Go live your life
It happens so please dont cry
So she gives him one last try
Hoping that this all has opened her eyes
Like a match being lit underwater again
She lets the waves swallow her whole
Cry your eyes
Dry them out this shouldn't be the way you feel
Pick yourself up
I met a girl the other day and she was
6 years too young for me,,
too young for me
I jump into a velco wall
with my shoes off
i walk into a wall
with my glasses on
i wanna feel the way i did
when you walked me to the train
i wanna fake my way through
another day my longest day
Nice trainers brother, did you get them from your mother, brother?
Nice trainers geezer, do you wear 'em just to please her, geezer?
They're pretty stylish man, they caught me on the hop,
With the way your trousers gather rather neatly round the top...looking good now
Dim the lights & let him through
No-one else is dressed like you
Nice trousers sonny, did they cost you lots of money, sonny?
Nice trousers cousin, did you order half a dozen, cousin?
Perhaps you ought to go out and get yourself a job,
And buy some clothes that make you look a bit less like a nob...look around now
Dim the lights & let him through
No-one else is dressed like you
Is there possibly anything I can do
To make you realise, it's not 1982?
Throw out the bone, you gave the dog away
A neighbor boy with dirt all in his face
He'll treat him just the same way, oh
Momma told me not to play that marble game
But did you listen? Turned the TV on
Drowned out her voice with the sound
She didn't ask for them nine months gone
You never thanked her for one no no no
God blessed you on the day you were born in 1982
Sucked your tooth straight out of its socket, was a miracle it grew
God blessed you with two legs a-moving and two arms that bust on through
The black and blue, all the dirt all the world piled on top of you
Oh regret's a sin, it's a waste of time they say
It robs you of friends and it digs an early grave
Six feet deep in red clay
Why break your back just to find a resting place?
God blessed you on the day that you were born in 1982
Sucked your tooth straight out of its socket, was a miracle it grew
God blessed you with two legs a-moving and two arms that bust on through
The black and blue, all the dirt all the world has piled on top of you
But did you listen? Turned the TV on
Drowned out her voice with the sound
She didn't ask for them nine months gone
