Miao may refer to

The Hmong (RPA: Hmoob/Moob, IPA: [m̥ɔ̃ŋ]), are an Asian ethnic group from the mountainous regions of China, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Hmong are also one of the sub-groups of the Miao ethnicity (苗族) in southern China. Hmong groups began a gradual southward migration in the 18th century due to political unrest and to find more arable land.

A number of Hmong people fought against the communist Pathet Lao during the Laotian Civil War. Hmong people were singled out for retribution when the Pathet Lao took over the Laotian government in 1975, and tens of thousands fled to Thailand seeking political asylum. Thousands of these refugees have resettled in Western countries since the late 1970s, mostly the United States but also in Australia, France, French Guiana, Canada, and South America. Others have been returned to Laos under United Nations-sponsored repatriation programs. Around 8,000 Hmong refugees remain in Thailand.

Miao Miao (Chinese: 苗苗; pinyin: Miáo Miao) (born 14 January 1981, Tianjin, China) is an Australian table tennis player who represented Australia at the Sydney, Athens and Beijing Olympic Games. Her best Olympic result was the quarter finals of the doubles tournament in Sydney. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, she won a silver medal in the teams competition and a bronze medal in the doubles with Jian Fang Lay. Her parents immigrated to Poland when she was a child, and later to Australia. She is the highest ranked Australian table tennis player at the time of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Virtually unknown in Australia she is well known in China.

Miao Miao is a right-handed, fast attack shakehand player (Height: 1.62 m). She is coached by her father Miao Cang Sheng （苗仓生）who was a well known coach in China but then became the coach of the Polish women table tennis team in 1994. Miao Miao became the Polish women doubles champion in 1996. Miao Miao migrated to Australia with her father in 1997. She was a 15 year adolescent when she first arrived in Australia but then quickly established her as one of top table tennis players in Australia. Miao became Australian junior champion in singles, doubles and mixed doubles and Australian senior singles champion as well as winning a series of other events both in Australia and abroad. She also has the rare distinction of representing Australia at three successive Olympic games in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

Giuseppa Marcella Bella (born in Catania, 18 June 1952) is an Italian singer. Her brothers Antonio and Salvatore Bella are famous musicians, and her brother Gianni Bella is another popular singer-songwriter who has composed several songs for her.

In 1972, she took part in Festival di Sanremo with the song Montagne verdi, and performed in more musical events later. She has covered her songs in German, English and Spanish. In 1974 she recorded "Nessuno mai", two years later, the Jamaican and German group, Boney M. made an English version, "Take the heat off me" published on their eponymous album.

Nora Miao (Chinese: 苗可秀; pinyin: Miáo Kěxiù Cantonese: Miu Ho-Sau)); born February 8, 1952 Chinese: 陳詠憫; pinyin: Chén Yǒng-Mǐn) is a Hong Kong actress who appeared in many kung-fu films in the 1970s. She was contracted to Golden Harvest, and spent her time making films in Hong Kong and in Taiwan, where she starred in several romance movies.

Miao worked well with Ko Chuen Hsiung and was paired with him in several movies. She played opposite both Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Miao appeared in all three of Bruce Lee's Hong Kong films, and became the only actress to share an on-screen kiss with the legendary Lee in Fist of Fury. She also starred opposite Jackie Chan in his first major film, New Fist of Fury.

Born in Hong Kong, Miao attended St. Teresa's School Kowloon. She began acting in 1968, and in 1981 formed a film company with her brother, Ricky Chan, in 1961. She more or less retired from acting in the late 1980s, and during the 1990s hosted an evening television show for the CFMT channel in Toronto.
