Keith Lionel Urban (born 26 October 1967) is a Australian country music singer, songwriter and guitarist whose commercial success has been mainly in the United States and Australia. Urban was born in New Zealand and began his career in Australia at an early age. In 1991, he released a self-titled debut album, and charted four singles in Australia before moving to the United States in 1992. Eventually, Urban found work as a session guitarist before starting a band known as The Ranch, which recorded one studio album on Capitol Records and charted two singles on the Billboard country charts.
Still signed to Capitol, he made his solo American debut in 1999 with the album Keith Urban. Certified platinum in the U.S., it also produced his first American Number One in "But for the Grace of God". His breakthrough hit was the Number One "Somebody Like You", from his second Capitol album Golden Road (2002). This album also earned Urban his first Grammy Award win for "You'll Think of Me", its fourth single and the fourth Billboard Number One of his career. 2004's Be Here, his third American album, produced three more Number Ones, and became his highest-selling album, earning 4× Multi-Platinum certification. Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing was released in 2006, producing the record-setting No.17 country chart debut of "Once in a Lifetime", as well as Urban's second Grammy for the song "Stupid Boy", while a Greatest Hits package entitled Greatest Hits: 18 Kids followed in late 2007. This album was re-released a year later as Greatest Hits: 19 Kids with one track added: the number one "You Look Good in My Shirt", which he had previously recorded on Golden Road. Additional albums Defying Gravity and Get Closer were released on 31 March 2009 and 16 November 2010, respectively.
Keith Sweat (born July 22, 1961) is an American R&B/soul, singer-songwriter, record producer, radio personality and an innovator of the New Jack Swing.
Sweat started his musical career as a member of a Harlem band called "Jamilah" in 1975. With the help of Jamilah, Sweat was able to hone his craft as a lead singer by performing regionally throughout the tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The group was started by bassist Larry Peoples, guitarist Michael Samuels, and drummer Walter Bradley. Additional members of the group included Peter DaCosta (vocals), Joseph McGeachy (sax), Dwight Banks (trumpet), and Kenneth Varner (keyboards).
After leaving the group in 1984 to aspire for a solo career, he sang at nightclubs throughout New York City and landed a chance to record for the independent label, Stadium Records. Sweat recorded only one tune for Stadium called "My Mind Is Made Up", which was their third ever release, but on Stadium's first release, he is credited as co-writer and co-producer of "You Are The One For Me", the last recording ever made by the group GQ. One of GQ's original members is his uncle, Keith "Sabu" Crier.
Keith Morrison (born July 1, 1947 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian, veteran broadcast journalist. Since 1995, he has been a correspondent for Dateline NBC.
Morrison got his start in 1966 working for the Saskatoon StarPhoenix before moving on to radio and then television. He was a reporter or anchor at local stations in Saskatchewan, Vancouver and Toronto.
He joined CTV's Canada AM in 1973 as a newsreader and also worked as a reporter and weekend anchor as well as a producer. As a reporter at CTV he won awards for his coverage of the Yom Kippur War. From 1975 to 1976 he was a reporter on CTV National News and served as national affairs correspondent and substitute anchor on the show from 1976 to 1979.
Morrison joined the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1982 as substitute anchor and chief political correspondent for The Journal, the network's nightly public affairs program, remaining until 1986. He also co-hosted Midday, the network's noon-hour newsmagazine from 1984 to 1985.
Peter Edward Rose (born April 14, 1941), nicknamed "Charlie Hustle", is a former Major League Baseball player and manager. Rose played from 1963 to 1986, and managed from 1984 to 1989.
Rose, a switch hitter, is the all-time Major League leader in hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053) and outs (10,328). He won three World Series rings, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, the Rookie of the Year Award, and made 17 All-Star appearances at an unequaled five different positions (2B, LF, RF, 3B & 1B).
In August 1989, three years after he retired as an active player, Rose agreed to permanent ineligibility from baseball amidst accusations that he gambled on baseball games while playing for and managing the Reds, including claims that he bet on his own team. In 1991, the Baseball Hall of Fame formally voted to ban those on the "permanently ineligible" list from induction, after previously excluding such players by informal agreement among voters. In 2004, after years of public denial, Rose admitted to betting on baseball and on, but not against, the Reds. The issue of Rose's possible re-instatement, and election, to the Hall of Fame remains a contentious one throughout baseball.
i read in the paper that another man made a difference today. column thirteen explained the reasons they had to put him away. but i can't stand here staring all i want in dismas. tomorrow's paper, the same face, different day. regardless, everyone's so indifferent down town. the conversation's still the same apparant run around...
I found a coin in the dirt
Sisters in times of sorrow
Sisters in times of joy
What happens now is yours
Uncles will shake themselves
Then they'll go back to ploughing
Under the willow tree right where our eyes meet
You are Keith, you are Keith
See how much this tree has grown
This tree has grown
I found a field to take you with me
Pheasants in the wind break
Pheasants in the [Incomprehensible]
You will only shoot the song birds
The little ones have only friends
The little ones have only friends
Under the willow tree right where our eyes meet
You are Keith, you are Keith
See how much this tree has grown
This tree has grown
You are Keith, you are Keith
See how much this tree has grown
This tree has grown
This tree has grown
This tree has grown
See how much this tree has grown
This tree has grown
Flat a mile on the stairs to his worth
A proud father leading the search
One mistake and a slip of the tongue and it
Slipped to the question
Face it out
Face it out
Come right through assault gun
But you better be right you better be right
This time I was hoping that you better be right
Back there where you live in a dream, your mindset becomes you
Fake fables are not all that they seem, mistrust within you
Can’t say you believe in all that
After the things that you saw in the past
No bolt will be colder the shoulder
I’m here don’t box me in
Face it out
Face it out
Come right through assault gun
But you better be right you better be right
This time I was hoping that you better be right
Come right through assault gun
But you better be right you better be right
This time I was hoping that you better be right
This is a declaration
Put my head in the sand
I feel it fill me in
Oh oh oh
I feel it fill me inn
Come right through assault gun
But you better be right you better be right
This time I was hoping that you better be right
Come right through assault gun
But you better be right you better be right
Will you try to justify the meaning, of the note you sent
this evening, to my door your not deceiving me
I'd of thought that you'd have known me better, sending
round an unsigned letter, facing you would be much better
now.
Is it just that you can't face the future with me, can't
you tell me to my face
You just took the cowards way to say good-bye, how would
you feel here in my place?
If at last I think I'm glad, to rid myself of you I'm
sad, to think about the time I let you go
Then I turn and walk away, so please don't beg for me to
stay, cause I know just what I
will say to you
Is it just that you can't face the future with me, can't
you tell me to my face
You just took the cowards way to say good-bye, how would
you feel here in my place?
Tell me to my face your leaving now
Good mornin' sun I say it's good to see you shinin'
I know my baby brought you to me
She kissed me yesterday hello your silver linin'
Got spring and summer runnin' through me
Hey 98.6 it's good to have you back again, oh
Hey 98.6 her lovin' is the medicine that saved me
Oh I love my baby
Hey everybody on the street I see you smilin'
Must be because I found my baby
You know she's got me on another kind of highway
I want to go to where it takes me
Hey 98.6 it's good to have you back again, oh
Hey 98.6 her lovin' is the medicine that saved me
Oh I love my baby
You know she's got me on another kind of highway
I want to go to where it takes me
Hey 98.6 it's good to have you back again, oh
Hey 98.6 her lovin' is the medicine that saved me
Ain't gonna lie
That's one thing
You and I could never see
So as we kiss goodbye
If I cry don't let these
Tears I shed today
Hold you back in any way
He's waiting for your smile so hurry
I'll be fine now don't you worry
Ain't gonna lie
If you say he's the guy
I won't stand in your way
Though it hurts me today
I'll get by
And I ain't gonna lie
Ain't gonna lie
Baby don't cry
Though my heart is breaking
I'm glad that you
Told the truth
Instead of some
Pack of lies
To us a lie's the only sin
At least we'll end the way we've been
By being truthful to each other
Girl I hope I find another
Ain't gonna lie
I'll be out by and by
Maybe I'll never meet
Anyone half as sweet
But I'll try
And I ain't gonna lie
To us a lie is the only sin
At least we'll end the way we've been
By being truthful to each other
Girl I hope I find another
Ain't gonna lie
Maybe I'll never meet
Anyone half as sweet
But I'll try
And I ain't gonna lie
I ain't gonna lie
Open up your heart, my pretty little shy one
Taste the tender sweetness that a loving kiss can bring
to you
Open up your heart my pretty little shy one
Let me show you all the livin' you been missin'
All there is to do.
I know that you are afraid of the world
Afraid of the things you see
In my arms your gonna be strong
As strong as love can make you be, so
Open up your heart my pretty little shy one
Just do like I say and let me love you all the way
