After the initial shock
Of not having what you've got
And your body just drops away
Nothing has really changed
Thats frightening and its strange
And no one can hear what you say
And everything just lingers on
Like an echo of your favourite song
It was so simple after all
But now you're on the other side of the door
Knock-knock, let me in
Its cold outside in this cosmic wind
Knock-knock, let me in
Just for tonight
Will you drive an outrageous Cadillac
Wear cowboy boots and a funny hat
And speed through the lights downtown?
Is there an eternal Fate?
Will you see your eternal lover's face,
As you crash into the Milky Way?
And everything just lingers on
Like an echo of your favourite song
It was so simple after all
But now you're on the other side of the door
Knock-knock, let me in
Its cold outside in this cosmic wind
Knock-knock, let me in
Just for tonight
Been to heaven, been to hell
Lost my heart in cheap hotels
Been doing this for so many years
Now it doesnt matter what I wear,
How I look, what I own, if I care
[Intro]
Yo. Dear hip hop. (Statik Selektah) Don't take this shit too seriously y'all
Yeah, shit got me stressed out man. I know y'all stressed out too
All y'all sick and tired of this bullshit man.
"His eyes said pray for me
I'll do you one better and slay these niggas faithfully" - Jay-Z 'Dead Presidents II'
[Verse One]
I'm writing this with ether in the lungs
And a burner to the brain
So forgive me if the words come across a bit strange
This a suicide note, last words to the game
Nas was right, shit got to change
Unless we said B.I.G. died in vain
And Pac died in vain
Been too high on rims to see the writin' on the train
How can Lupe complain?
When his Fiasco, at a rap show to honor rap greats is too blame
From rap music dying in a box, sales dying on the charts
The art's missin', it's heart beat stopped
Master P sold us out
Talkin' 'bout I should stop saying "nigga"
Fuck that! They brought this nigga out
This is freedom of speech nigga
The arson's in the house
Burn your white house down with Bush twins on the couch
I ain't come here to +Crank dat+ Joc or +Walk It Out+
Either I'm blind, or hip hop is dyin' in the south
And I love Face, Bun B, Cass and Goodie Mob
But I miss +Scenario+, +Make 'Em Pay+ and +How To Rob+
New York is too blame
Where I'm from, we look to New york for what's poppin'
Now New York's droppin'
And I'm talking everything
No more classic shit
No more +Shook Ones+ to blast in the whip
Com, +I Used To Love H.E.R.+ too, now I'm like fuck this bitch
Rap's old, new Grey Hairs shit
If this is what makes Mims Hot
And this is why I'm not
Put a bullet in my brain, bury me with 2pac
Put a needle in my vein
So I could ride next to Kurt Cobain
Physical will die but the soul will remain
Raps wack too many fake Eminems
Too many white boys, dye there hair blond and try to rhyme like him
Everybody wanna pick up the pen
Try to get in the booth
No motivation, you killing the youth
Bill O'Reily don't respect Jay-Z in no suit
You still a coon in they eyes
I hope you soon realize
Hip hop's aging and I'm at it's side
Tryin' to aid through the ride
Fuck this man
[Outro]
Chorus:
I-I-I-I, I'm seeking in
You know that's something's got to
Something's got you and then you told yourself
You found a modern Mona Lisa, yeah
You gave up all your love
You said ...fool's keeper.
You got no money, it doesn't mean a thing
You got time, the time is everything
We all gonna die, stay away
Listening to the records that you love
Now you're saying:
Chorus:
I-I-I-I, I'm seeking in
You know that's something's got to
Something's gotta give, uh, uh, uh
And then you showed yourself
And all the colors that you fear, oh, oh, ohhhh
It doesn't mean a thing,
You got love, you got everything
Talk online, stay awake
Listen to records that we love!
Chorus:
I-I-I-I, I'm seeking in
You know that's something's got to
Something's gotta give
Is gotta give
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Something's gotta give
Is gotta give, is gotta give
Who's to say whether or not,
It's a crime to kill some unborn child,
Before it's born.
You don't even know what it's like,
To raise a kid
With income just enough to,
Live in a ditch.
Don't tell me about your story,
I've heard it all before.
Money I rarely see.
I'm fucking poor.
My kid will grow up in the streets,
And fucking rob you.
You say to let him live,
Just wait to see what he'll do.
Reagan cuts welfare for birth control.
He say's it's justified with correct morals.
If you say it's wrong, man
Well, you go get fucked!
Go out an get some broad knocked up.
Then what?
Who's to say whether or not,
It's a crime to kill some unborn child,
Before it's born.
You don't even know what it's like,
To raise a kid,
With income just enough to
Live in a ditch.
Can't you see I don't want to know about your story?
'Cause I've heard it all before.
Money I rarely see.
'Cause, 'cause I'm... I'm fucking poor.
My kid will grow up in the streets,
And fucking rob you.
You say to let him live,
You'll see just what he'll do.
(Chorus) 2x
I wanna Live for you,
And I wanna die for you,
Go to war for you,
Go to War for you.
Yes I'd go to War for you,
Slice my chest,
Rip my heart out,
Stomp on it on the floor for you,
Knock on every door like the Mormons do,
He's out of His mind, Off the stool,
Close your eyes, Turn off the News,
I don't like think it's safe here to walk to school,
This guys gone nuts, He's lost some screws,
Jesus freak, That's my name,
Pull a gun out let it smack my brain,
Take my food, lose half my weight,
Till the only thing left is a batman cape
And a guy in a suit yelling He can save me,
With a mask and cape he's just crazy,
Just like me, just might be,
My subconscious, I've gone Bonkers,
But there's one thing I know,
That I don't really think I know,
That-Nah lemme just shut up and drink my coke,
Babe grab your purse and grab my coat,
My Sword, My Faith, My shield, My Armor,
Think I won't, I will, I'm onward,
Oops I think I just killed the Martian,
Nope that's not blood just spilled lasagna,
Fight myself, Wish I could take my skin,
Just peel it off me,
Take my sin, Dig a hole that's 6 feet deep,
And build a coffin, Nail it shut,
While I scream out loud,
Like a man who just spilled his coffee,
Over his lap, let's go of the steering wheel,
And slams right into a building office,
Is it just me, does anyone else feel like I feel,
Like you don't care no more,
Jesus Christ is all I got,
Everything else is just Air, It's gone,
The time is now, Yesterday's past,
If you think it's there, you're wrong,
Are you Ready for War, Sing this song.
(Chorus) 2x
I wanna Live for you,
And I wanna die for you,
Go to war for you,
Go to War for you
I was a slave before,
Free so now I'm waging war,
The Devils mad and raging raw,
Cause I want a thing with God,
I wonder why Me and Wifee's been Arguing,
And Juniors having nightmares,
Demons trying to start with Him,
Temptation all around Me,
Hells trying to make me fall into Sin,
But there's lost souls that I know that God has chosen
with talents,
That I know that I must make it to,
Foes are imposing a challenge,
But I'm a eagle in the storm with some Gold in His
Talons,
Faith in my bosom, Wind of Grace Holding my balance,
I feel weak but the Spirit will quicken my countenance,
Now I'm flying in the same Grace that rose God,
I'm charged up, Shooting out the clouds in a nose dive,
My destinations Home, It's like a desolation zone,
Raging sea Calm down, Satan's hate leave my place,
begone,
Find another place to Roam, Peace will overtake my
Home,
See me and Wifee fight for Love,
and teach Junior how to plead the blood.
(Chorus) 2x
I wanna Live for you,
And I wanna die for you,
Go to war for you,
Go to War for you
Only if you knew what I was going through,
Then this wouldn't be the ideal life for you,
My baby got a baby on the way,
I haven't even made a dollar all day,
Living off this Wic and Axis,
Trying to promote prosperity to the masses,
I had a Hope Mobile but I crashed it,
I got a love Aircraft and I can't land it,
So I crash into two hearts,
Those hearts the assembly of two parts,
My wife,My son, at the moment I dropped the gun,
God showed me you give it your all or nothing,
So hard to hold on,
My grips the equivalent of four arms,
Oh I gotta stand up and face the mountain,
Leap in no matter how great it sounded,
Put my hands over my eyes, ask the Lord to give me 3D
Vision
To see these missions, please just listen,
Life ain't cake, no matter how rough, Christ ain't
fake,
Thrust your shuttle off and keep on moving,
Angela on the sidelines keep on rooting,
(I can't make it) Gotta rise up,
It could pivot in minute and the(?blast off shuttle?)
(Chorus) 2x
I wanna Live for you,
And I wanna die for you,
Go to war for you,
