A country is a region legally identified as a distinct entity in political geography. A country may be an independent sovereign state or one that is occupied by another state, as a non-sovereign or formerly sovereign political division, or a geographic region associated with sets of previously independent or differently associated peoples with distinct political characteristics. Regardless of the physical geography, in the modern internationally accepted legal definition as defined by the League of Nations in 1937 and reaffirmed by the United Nations in 1945, a resident of a country is subject to the independent exercise of legal jurisdiction.
Sometimes the word country is used to refer both to sovereign states and to other political entities, while other times it refers only to states. For example, the CIA World Factbook uses the word in its "Country name" field to refer to "a wide variety of dependencies, areas of special sovereignty, uninhabited islands, and other entities in addition to the traditional countries or independent states".

Dunk
Booty
Damita Jo
Isn't that like a country name?
It is isn't it?
The Damita I don't think is country
But it's the Jo that's country
Which just happens to be my father's name
Well my mother is from the south so
I know a place not far from here
Where lifes sweet perfume fills the air
And if you want I'll take you there
If you want I'll take you there
Into the light out of the dark
Where only love can heal your heart
And if you want I'll make a start
If you want I'll make a start
This place I say half hour away
Is that so far to go so near
And further on we'll find the time
And lose the discontent we feel, that we feel
I feel the time we've yet to reach
Is not yet within our own belief
But I feel sure that time'll come
If it goes on at all
Said if it goes on at all, whoa if it goes on at all
Hey, it goes on and on and on and on
I know a place not far from here
Where fresh cut grass will fill your hair
And if you want we'll lay a while there
If you want we'll lay a while there, yeah

He's got a John Deere cap and a bad haircut
A face only a mama could love
But he's a heart worker, he comes home at night
He's got a wife and a dog, two kids and a half
He's a lifetime die-hard democrat
And he pays his bills, he's an honest man
He's validated, unadulterated country
He's got a bumper sticker on his new Dodge van
That says "follow me to the promised land"
He's tried and true, bleeds red, white and blue
He works six days a week for Saturday night
To hear the jukebox play the time of his life
But come Sunday morning, he sings "I Saw The Light"
He's flag waving, soul saving country
When I look at this man
I see a little bit of myself
That part of me that can't be nobody else
He's come and get it, unapologetic
Flag waving, soul saving
Validated, unadulterated
The man's country/stone country
He's got a John Deere cap and a bad haircut
A face only a mama could love
But he's a heart worker, he comes home at night
He's got a wife and a dog, two kids and a half
He's a lifetime die-hard democrat

A mirror image of a silver sky,
nests of pines and brandy wines, build this country to the sky
Do you remember now, the oblivion of youthful minds,
caught up in the fashions of their time...
Roll away,
I can see that clearly now, every time I look into this
mirror image of a silver sky,
nests of pines and brandy wine, build this country to the sky
What would they say?
God is here in this country by the sky
A mirror image of a silver sky,
nests of pines and brandy wines, build this country to the sky
Piecemeal of yesteryear,
a stained glass moment marking time,
with full intent on my 22 year old mind
Roll away,
I can see that clearly now,
every time I look into this mirror image of a silver sky,
nests of pines and brandy wine, build this country to the sky
What would they say?
Baby I don t know
What I think of us
Won t be here tomorrow
I get so mixed up
It's a shame that we're not living in the country
A place that I once seen before
In a book you ve always loved but never showed me
You know I never lost before
Baby I don t mind
Where I m going to
Love that asks for nothing
Love that we never knew
In the days when we were living in the city
It seemed that we were talking more
I can never love you like the way you love me
And these are things I can t ignore
You know I never lost before
We give it up to a world that was never true
It was always me and you
Baby I can tell
It's not coming back
Won t be here tomorrow
I know we'll be fine with that
In the days when we were living we were happy
The thing that we were waiting for
From a book you ve always loved but never showed me
These are things I can t ignore
You know I never lost before
You know I never lost before
You know I never wanted it more
You and I were two of a kind,
I hate to say it but we'll never relate...
You and I were two of a kind,
waking with a dream out of focus
wracking your brain for the details
accidently elbowing an ashtray
sifting through the real and the unreal
fast motion scenes under your eyelids
searching for the place and exact date
colored landscapes echoing vivid blue
and a brilliant red
colored landscapes echoing vivid blue
and a brilliant red
travel unrelated to faces
high on the rooftop over cowboys
colored landscapes echoing vivid blue
and a brilliant red
colored landscapes echoing vivid blue
and a brilliant red
Je suis passée à la télé
Je voulais faire chanteuse
Tous des vendus, tous des tarés
A part ma manageuse
J'voulais faire du rock'n roll
Mais elle m'a dit chérie
Le rock'n roll c'est pourri
Toi tu feras d'la country
Tous des tarés, tous des salauds
Sauf mon imprésarios
Tous des toqués, tous des menteurs
A part mon producteur
Un jour il m'a dit chérie
Ca suffit le français
Fais plutôt comme on te dit
Faut qu'tu chantes en anglais
All des tarés, all des suckers
But not my manager
Tous des crazy motherfucker
A part mon publisher
Puis y a eu quelques soucis
Au niveau production
Elle s'est effondrée l'industrie
Elle a touché le fond
Depuis ils m'ont dit vas-y
Faut faire du gospel
Ca marche plus la country
On en a des belles
Tous des toqués, tous des vauriens
A part mes musiciens
Tous des cocus, tous des fumistes
A part les journalistes
You ask me how much I need you
You wonder if I'm worth giving all your trust
Every dream yet to be fulfilled
Every breaking secrets you've told
You wonder If I ever see another woman
If I ever looked at their backs or fronts
There's nothing to worry about
Cause babe, nothing's ever happened
Behind you or behind your eyes
And if one ever happened, you already know
That in a crowded room
In a world of strangers
In the shadow of the moon
In every dream of a different woman
Babe, I swear, I'll always find you
In careless warm hands,
Needy of someone to hold
I'll always find your tender touch
In all the hottest babes on TV
With a sad look on their faces
I'll always find your smile
Ain't no doubt, I'll always find you
No matter how far you are, I'll travel
No matter how deep you've gone
I'll dig until I reach the bottom
Don't care how long it takes
I've got all the times in the world
I made a promise, I'm sticking to it
For better or for worse, stormy or blue
I'll always find you, wherever you are
Whether in a crowded room
In a world of strangers
In the shadow of the moon
In every dream of a different woman
Babe, I swear, I'll always find you
In careless warm hands,
Needy of someone to hold
I'll always find your tender touch
In all the hottest babes on TV
With a sad look in their faces
I'll always find your smile
Ain't no doubt, I'll always find you
I set my life on the line
That I'll always make you smile
Give love and hope until you shine
Make your dreams come true
