Marrakesh or Marrakech (/məˈrækɛʃ/ or /ˌmærəˈkɛʃ/;Berber: Meṛṛakec, ⵎⴻⵕⵕⴰⴽⴻⵛ; Arabic: مراكش, Murrākuš) is a major city of Morocco. It is the fourth largest city in the country, after Casablanca, Rabat and Fes. It is the capital city of the mid-southwestern region of Marrakesh-Asfi. Located to the north of the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, Marrakesh is located 580 km (360 mi) southwest of Tangier, 327 km (203 mi) southwest of the Moroccan capital of Rabat, 239 km (149 mi) south of Casablanca, and 246 km (153 mi) northeast of Agadir.
Marrakesh is possibly the most important of Morocco's four former imperial cities (cities that were built by Moroccan Berber empires). The region has been inhabited by Berber farmers since Neolithic times, but the actual city was founded in 1062 by Abu Bakr ibn Umar, chieftain and cousin of Almoravid king Yusuf ibn Tashfin. In the 12th century, the Almoravids built many madrasas (Koranic schools) and mosques in Marrakesh that bear Andalusian influences. The red walls of the city, built by Ali ibn Yusuf in 1122–1123, and various buildings constructed in red sandstone during this period, have given the city the nickname of the "Red City" or "Ochre City". Marrakesh grew rapidly and established itself as a cultural, religious, and trading centre for the Maghreb and sub-Saharan Africa; Jemaa el-Fnaa is the busiest square in Africa.
The Paris Agreement (French: L'accord de Paris) is an agreement within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) governing greenhouse gases emissions measures from 2020. The agreement was negotiated during the 21st Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC in Paris and adopted by consensus on 12 December 2015, but has not entered into force. Conference head Laurent Fabius, France's foreign minister, said this "ambitious and balanced" plan was a "historic turning point" in the goal of reducing global warming.
The aim of the convention is described in Article 2, "enhancing the implementation" of the UNFCCC through:
Countries furthermore aim to reach "global peaking of greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible".
The contribution that each individual country should make in order to achieve the worldwide goal are determined by all countries individually and called "nationally determined contributions". The Agreement requires them to be "ambitious" and set "with the view to achieving the purpose of this Agreement". The contributions should be reported every five years and are to be registered by the UNFCCC Secretariat. Each further ambition should be more ambitious than the previous one. Countries can cooperate and pool their nationally determined contributions. The Intended Nationally Determined Contributions pledged during the 2015 Climate Change Conference serve—unless provided otherwise—as the initial Nationally determined contribution.
The Marrakesh VIP Treaty (formally the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works by Visually Impaired Persons and Persons with Print Disabilities) is a treaty signed in Marrakesh, Morocco, on 28 June 2013.
The treaty focuses on copyright exceptions to facilitate the creation of accessible versions of books and other copyrighted works. It sets a norm for countries ratifying the treaty to have a domestic copyright exception covering these activities, and allowing for the import and export of such materials. The full text of the treaty is available on the WIPO website.
Fifty-one countries signed the treaty as of the close of the diplomatic conference in Marrakesh. The ratification of 20 states is needed for the treaty to go into effect.
The treaty is the second international trade treaty associated with Marrakesh, the other being the Marrakesh Agreement which established the World Trade Organization in 1994.
India ratified the treaty on 24 July 2014 and was the first country to do so. El Salvador, Mali, the United Arab Emirates and Uruguay also ratified in 2014. In 2015, the treaty was ratified by Argentina, Paraguay, Singapore and Mexico.
Sustainable development (SD) is a process for meeting human development goals while maintaining the ability of natural systems to continue to provide the natural resources and ecosystem services upon which the economy and society depend. While the modern concept of sustainable development is derived most strongly from the 1987 Brundtland Report, it is rooted in earlier ideas about sustainable forest management and twentieth century environmental concerns .
Sustainable development is the organizing principle for sustaining finite resources necessary to provide for the needs of future generations of life on the planet. It is a process that envisions a desirable future state for human societies in which living conditions and resource-use continue to meet human needs without undermining the "integrity, stability and beauty" of natural biotic systems.
Sustainability can be defined as the practice of reserving resources for future generation without any harm to the nature and other components of it . Sustainable development ties together concern for the carrying capacity of natural systems with the social, political, and economic challenges faced by humanity. Sustainability science is the study of the concepts of sustainable development and environmental science. There is an additional focus on the present generations' responsibility to regenerate, maintain and improve planetary resources for use by future generations.
Paris (UK: /ˈpærɪs/ PARR-iss; US: i/ˈpɛərɪs/ PAIR-iss; French: [paʁi]) is the capital and most populous city of France. Situated on the Seine River, in the north of the country, it is in the centre of the Île-de-France region, also known as the région parisienne, "Paris Region". In the 18th century, it was the centre stage for the French Revolution, and became an important centre of finance, commerce, fashion, science, and the arts, a position it still retains today.

The latest summit on climate change is underway, with representatives of 200 nations assembling for talks on how to implement the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change. This meeting will write a detailed "rule book" for implementing the Paris Agreement. That's likely to take two years. It also aims to find ways to raise the hundreds of billions needed to help developing nations cut their rising emissions and adapt to the effects of climate change.
A united response: nearly 200 countries meeting in Morocco have declared action on climate change an "urgent duty". They have reaffirmed their commitment to "full implementation" of last year's Paris Agreement to limit global warming. The Marrakesh Proclamation is being seen as a message of solidarity against the threat of president-elect Donald Trump to pull the US out of the accord. The outgoing administration is still on board. "No one country, no one man, no one person can control the ou… READ MORE : http://www.euronews.com/2016/11/18/unity-at-marrakesh-in-face-of-trump-climate-change-threat What are the top stories today? The Marrakesh Treaty for the blind and visually impaired people to have access to books through trademark exemptions and trade exemptions.
On April 27, 2015, the Government of Canada announced that it will join the Marrakesh Treaty and table it in Parliament on April 29, 2015. The Marrakesh Treaty is an international agreement that will make it easier to create and share accessible versions of books with people around the world.
The Marrakech climate summit has begun in an atmosphere of celebration. Almost 200 nations marked the entry into force of the Paris Agreement to limit greenhouse gas emissions. Opening the proceedings the UN’s climate change chief, Patricia Espinosa reminded the delegates that they needed to walk the talk. “Early entry into force of the Paris agreement is a clear cause for celebration, it is also a timely reminder of the high expectations that are now placed upon us all. Achieving the aims and ambitions of the Paris agreement is not a given. We have embarked on an effort to change the course of two centuries of carbon intensive development.” Source: EURO News Subscribe for latest Update: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIloWx81MSxGMvwY8xP4cGA?sub_confirmation=1 Follow us on Twitter: ...

Travel video about destination Marrakesh in Morocco. In 1062 A.D. the Almovarides Dynasty founded the city of Marrakesh, known as, “The Red Pearl“. The colourful Spice Market is only one of several markets, otherwise known as ‘souks’ where baskets brim over with ginger, saffron, caraway and coriander. The souks are divided into different areas and specialities including various craft workshops in which coppersmiths and potters offer their goods for sale. Even today the bazaars still display the age-old splendour of this important trading city and caravan destination.Snake charmers still captivate curious onlookers and the Jemaa-El-Fna Square with its tricksters, minstrels and other entertainers is one of the oldest open-air variety shows in Africa. Out of the Moroccan desert rises Marrakesh, an oasis of beauty and tranquility that will enchant travelers looking for adventure, rejuvenation, and the experience of a lifetime. Silhouettes of archways and minarets rise over the Red City, as the muezzin’s call to prayer echoes across the rose-colored sky. Those who visit Marrakesh will not soon forget it. The architecture--star-shaped Moorish lattices, sunken fountains, aromatic gardens and glittering mosaics--will make you feel like a sultan of old. There are resorts and boutique riads to further that luxurious sensation. Travel to M...
