Russia has stressed that the UN probe concluding nerve gas was used in Syria last month, does not rule out rebel involvement in the atrocity. But the U.S, Britain and France have been quick to claim the report is enough to implicate the Assad government - READ MORE http://on.rt.com/sdkg09 The White House insists the rockets used in the attack, could only have belonged to loyalist forces. However, the UN findings state that the sarin-tipped warheads may have been improvised... and the report did not pinpoint the sites from where they were launched, at residential areas of Damascus. Meanwhile, a prominent group of former U.S. security officials had warned the White House about intelligence reports from the war zone, indicating that radical rebel factions are in possession of chemical weapons. One of them - Pentagon veteran Michael Maloof - gave RT the details... Hamas-led gunmen in Gaza executed 18 Palestinians accused of collaborating with Israel on Friday, a day after Israel tracked down and killed three top Hamas commanders--the highest-ranking militants to be killed in the six-week war. Seven people were shot dead in front of worshippers outside a mosque in one of Gaza's main squares, witnesses said, the first public executions in the Palestinian enclave since the 1990s. Hamas security officials said a further 11 were killed at an abandoned police station near Gaza City. http://news.yahoo.com/gaza-gunmen-execute-18-collaborators-gaza-israel-pursues-120147339.html http://www.wochit.com

US Judge Shakira Hit Song Loca 'Broke Copyright Laws' A hit song performed by Colombian pop star Shakira was indirectly copied from another songwriter's work, a federal judge in New York has found. Judge Alvin Hellerstein said Shakira's Spanish-language version of Loca in 2010 had infringed on a song by Dominican singer Ramon Arias Vazquez. Her English language version of Loca - which featured Dizzee Rascal - was "not offered into evidence" at the trial. Neither version of Loca was released as a single in the UK. Moving on to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Liberia, the worst-hit country, has enacted a curfew... to minimize movement. ALL movement would be blocked in and out of the West Point slum... where a quarantine center was attacked this past weekend. Here′s Connie Kim with the story. In a bid to stem the Ebola outbreak in Liberia, the nation′s president has declared a night time curfew and ordered security forces to quarantine a slum that′s home to at least fifty thousand people. The new quarantine areas include Monrovia′s West Point slum and all entertainment centers. The new measures come as there was a glimmer of hope in the fight against the outbreak as infected healthcare workers in Liberia are reported to be showing "remarkable signs of improvement" after taking the experimental drug, ZMapp. The three are the first Africans to receive the treatment. ZMapp was first given to two U.S. aid workers and a priest earlier this month. The UN Health agency says it′s only made between 10 to 12 doses of the drug available,... and the most recent shipment went to Liberia. Meanwhile, Liberia has confirmed that all 17 suspected Ebola patients, who fled their quarantine center when it was looted last weekend... have been accounted for. Their sudden disappearance sparked fears the deadly virus could spread into the densely populated slum around it. Officials say the patients turned themselves in and have been transferred to another clinic. It′s not yet known whether any of them actually have Ebola. Latest figures from the WHO show Liberia registered the most new Ebola deaths over a three-day period in the latter half of last week with 53. The overall death toll observed in Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria... has now topped the 12-hundred mark. Connie Kim, Arirang News.
