Each model is a few thousand dollars cheaper than the last generation in an attempt to attract new consumers. Gone is the 2.5 liter 5-cylinder which has been replaced by a more potent 1.8 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. One of the more exotic Golf variants is not coming to the U.S. until 2015. The eGolf at its core this vehicle is just a battery and electric motor placed into a Golf chassis. The range will be about 80-90 miles on a standard charge in normal driving. The electric motor produces 115 horsepower which is plenty. The great thing about the eGolf is there are no compromises. You get everything that a normal Golf would have just that this car is all electric.
