Nadji Tehrani is an
Iranian-
American businessman, the founder and CEO of Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC), which publishes magazines and runs conferences devoted to the business of
telemarketing, a word for which TMC received a registered
trademark on December 28, 1982.
Born in Iran, Tehrani studied at the Sorbonne. He has an undergraduate degree in chemistry and a graduate degree in business administration.
In 1972, Tehrani started TMC as a publisher of trade magazines, working from the basement of his Stamford, CT home. After discovering that he could sell advertising space much more easily using phone calls rather than in-person sales, he began in 1982 to publish a trade magazine for people doing phone marketing. That magazine was then called "TeleMarketing" but is now called "Customer Interaction Solutions."
The company's activities now include not only publishing but also corporate training and conference organization. TMC's publications also cover VoIP and outsourcing as well as telemarketing.
The National Republican Congressional Committee gave Tehrani its National Leadership Award.
