Mele is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Genoa in the Italian region Liguria, located about 21 km west of Genoa.

Mele borders the following municipalities: Bosio, Genoa, Masone.

Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (May 3, 1903 – October 14, 1977) was an American singer and actor. Crosby's trademark bass-baritone voice made him one of the best-selling recording artistes of the 20th century, with over half a billion records in circulation.

A multimedia star, from 1934 to 1954 Bing Crosby was a leader in record sales, radio ratings and motion picture grosses. His early career coincided with technical recording innovations; this allowed him to develop a laid-back, intimate singing style that influenced many of the popular male singers who followed him, including Perry Como,Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. Yank magazine recognized Crosby as the person who had done the most for American G.I. morale during World War II and, during his peak years, around 1948, polls declared him the "most admired man alive," ahead of Jackie Robinson and Pope Pius XII. Also in 1948, the Music Digest estimated that Crosby recordings filled more than half of the 80,000 weekly hours allocated to recorded radio music.

Gabriele "Gabry" Ponte (born Turin, 20 April 1973) is an Italian DJ best known for his membership in the Italian dance group Eiffel 65. Ponte has been involved with the Bliss Team, DJ Gundam, and Sangwara. With Eiffel 65's rise to fame in the late 1990s, his celebrity (or semi-celebrity) status was established, and he later went on to produce the Italian hits "Geordie" (a cover of Fabrizio de André's song by the same name) sung by Italian vocalist Stefania Piovesan as well as hits Time to rock and Got to Get and then "La Danza delle Streghe" (literally "The Dance of the Witches"). Also to his credit are a number of remixes of popular dance songs such as Gianni Togni's Giulia. In 2005, Ponte announced he would be separating from Eiffel 65 to pursue solo work. In 2007 he released a brand new EP, "Love Songs in the Digital Age According to Gabry Ponte" which includes the new track "the Point Of No Return".

Florin Stoian (born 1979, Bucharest), better known under the stage name of Florin Salam and (previously) Florin Fermecătoru, is a Gypsy singer of manele from Romania. He is one of the best known and appreciated manele performers.

Stoian has been singing since he was a child; his first contact with music took place at age of four. His father and uncle were well-known lăutari. He debuted in 2002 with help from bandleader Dan Bursuc. His first hit single was "Ce gagică şmecherită" (Romanian: "Such a picky chick"). He played an important part when the smash hit "Of, viaţa mea" (Romanian: "Oh, my life") was released in 2000, sung by Adrian Minune and Costi Ioniţă. In 2002 Florin Stoian changed his stage name from Fermecătoru (Romanian: "The Glamorous") to Salam (Arabian: "peace", cf. Hebrew "shalom", and Romanian: "salami" ).

In 2008 he performed a song together with pop singer Paula Seling and the Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra. The show host described their performance as a reconciliation between manele and mainstream pop music; in the same respect, the song's lyrics raised the problem of ethnic intolerance.
