Bob Dylan was strolling around the town of Long Branch, N.J. on July 23. He was there killing some time before he was set to perform at a baseball stadium in Lakewood, part of a tour he was on with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp.
A complaint came in from a house on the market by "its owners; stating an 'eccentric - looking old man' wandering around there front yard," according to the ChicagoTribune.com.
ABCNews.com reports that Kristie Buble, a fresh-faced 24-year-old police officer of Long Branch, responded to the complaint. After approaching the old man in the rain, she had no idea who he was even after he told her "I'm Bob Dylan." She then asked for his ID, which he did not have on him. After failing to present identification, Buble took Mr. Dylan in her cruiser to the hotel where he was staying.
She told ABCNews.com that, "He didn't look like Bob Dylan to me at all
We see a lot of people on our beat, and I wasn't sure if he came from one of our hospitals or something."
Maybe it is because of all the different personas he has taken on in his career that we sometimes forget what the 68-year-old legend looks like. "Oh, how does it feel?"
