Ray’s Ghare-Baire is also quite good for getting a handle on what’s baldly described as “Hindu-Muslim riots”.
It’s difficult to grapple with an enormity like the death of millions in the Bengal famine, and another man-made event of the same era that led to 20 million+ deaths became somewhat more coherent to me after watching this documentary.
