MOON - COULD PLANET EARTH SURVIVE WITHOUT IT? THIS VIDEO WILL SHOW YOU WHY NOT! (documentary)
The Moon is the only natural satellite of the Earth and the fifth largest moon in the Solar System. The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun, although its surface is actually dark, with a reflectance just slightly higher than that of worn asphalt. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art and mythology. The Moon's gravitational influence produces the ocean tides and the minute lengthening of the day. Top 20 Astronomy Tips
This video shows our top astronomy tips to help you get the best from your telescope and enhance your enjoyment of the night sky. You can explore any of the tips in more detail in a back catalogue of videos on our channel. If you liked this video why not subscribe to Astronomy & Nature TV? Warning: Making telescope accessories out of cardboard could seriously damage other peoples wealth (Do they mean me? RJD) A short notice on the topic of numerical inexactitudes. Before some of you start thrashing your keyboards to shrapnel - yes, we know there are over 30 tips not just the 20 of the title! But we thought 20 sounded so much friendlier than 34! 20 is such a flouncy-bouncy sort of number, so much more rounded, less angular and awkward than 34. And we were worried you might not be able to stomach the idea of 34 astronomy tips in one sitting! But this means we gave you 70% more than you were expecting to get in the 18 minute video! Wow, this means you got two astronomy tips per minute -- that's got to be some sort of YouTube record! Clear skies, A&NTV; Presented by Robert J Dalby FRAS Produced by A.R.B Media Productions for Astronomy and Nature TV- published: 01 Nov 2013

Dr. Jason Lisle | Astronomy Reveals Creation
Dr. Jason Lisle | Astronomy Reveals Creation
Great presentation by Dr. Jason Lisle of the Institute of Creation Research (ICR) at the Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia on how astronomy when properly understood without presuppositional biases actually reveals what the writers of the Bible have long ago touched on in broad terms. The Word of God is really true and 100% accurate in whatever topic it touches. Though it is not a science book ( Thankfully because science books change every year), the Bible touches on various topics from Geology to astronomy to Biology to Physics etc. And it is fully reliable and accurate in all of those topics that it touches Most importantly, the Bible is fully accurate when it talks about the Gospel of God that you and I are called to believe. Jesus Christ truly came to the earth, lived a perfect life, suffered, was crucified, died, buried and rose again bodily the third day. Because of this act of grace, we are all called to repent of our sins and put our faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus so that we can be forgiven and spend eternity with God. And that is 100% true. So please do not waste your life with earthly endeavors but rather focus on eternal things especially eternity with God.- published: 19 Oct 2013
