Dallas Love Field (IATA: DAL, ICAO: KDAL, FAA LID: DAL) is a city-owned public-use airport located 6 miles (10 km, 5 nautical miles) northwest of the central business district of Dallas, Texas, United States.

Love Field was Dallas' primary scheduled airline service facility until 1974 when Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) opened.

As of March 2012, Love Field is served by Southwest Airlines, United Express, Delta Connection, and SeaPort Airlines. Southwest Airlines maintains its corporate headquarters at Love Field, and Dallas is a major focus city for the airline. Also, seven full service fixed base operators (FBOs) at Love Field provide general aviation services including fuel, maintenance, hangar rentals, and charters. Some also provide executive class amenities such as meeting rooms, car rentals, limousine service and restaurants.

Love Field was opened as an Army flying field on October 19, 1917, constructed just southeast of Bachman Lake. It was named after First Lieutenant Moss Lee Love, of the U.S. Army 11th Cavalry, who died in an airplane crash near San Diego, California on 4 September 1913, becoming the 10th fatality in U.S. army aviation history. His Wright Model C biplane crashed during practice for his Military Aviator Test. On 19 October 1917, the newly-opened Dallas Love Field was named in his honor.Joe Baugher lists the fatal aircraft accident for this date as being Burgess Model J, Signal Corps 18, which dove into the ground killing its pilot.. Love Field was opened to civilian use in 1927 when the city of Dallas purchased the land with National Air Transport (forerunner of United Airlines) starting the first passenger service.

Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson (born 18 July 1950) is an English business magnate, best known for his Virgin Group of more than 400 companies.

His first business venture was a magazine called Student at the age of 16. In 1970, he set up an audio record mail-order business. In 1972, he opened a chain of record stores, Virgin Records, later known as Virgin Megastores. Branson's Virgin brand grew rapidly during the 1980s, as he set up Virgin Atlantic Airways and expanded the Virgin Records music label.

Branson was born in Blackheath, London, the son and eldest child of barrister Edward James Branson (10 March 1918 – 19 March 2011) and Eve Huntley Branson (née Flindt). His grandfather, the Right Honourable Sir George Arthur Harwin Branson, was a judge of the High Court of Justice and a Privy Councillor. Branson was educated at Scaitcliffe School (now Bishopsgate School) until the age of thirteen. He then attended Stowe School until the age of sixteen. Branson has dyslexia and had poor academic performance as a student, but later discovered his ability to connect with others.
