La vita di Urs Althaus, però, è stata ben più intensa: nato nel 1959 da madre svizzera e padre nigeriano, è cresciuto a Zurigo, per poi trasferirsi negli Stati Uniti.
È stato il primo uomo di colore a posare per la copertina di GQ America, ha posato e sfilato per i più prestigiosi brand di moda, ha recitato a fianco di attori del calibro di Sean Connery, ma soprattutto ha collezionato tanti piccoli e grandi incontri con personaggi del cinema, della musica e dello spettacolo. Urs Althaus wuchs bei seiner Mutter in Altdorf (UR) auf. Den Vater, ein Medizinstudent aus Nigeria, hat er nie kennengelernt. Seine steile internationale Karriere begann als Model im kleinen Modehaus Körner in Altdorf. Er lief in den 70ern für Yves Saint Laurent in Paris und war das erste schwarze Model auf dem Cover des US-Magazins „GQ". Er lebte 10 Jahre in New York und arbeitete u.a. für Calvin Klein, Valentino, Gucci und Armani. Sein Schauspielunterricht führte zu verschiedenen Filmrollen. 1987 wurde er als Mönch Venantius an der Seite von Sean Connery in „Der Name der Rose" international bekannt. 2009 erschien seine Biographie «Ich, der Neger». Althaus lebt heute in Flüelen am Urnersee.

Urs
Urs (from Arabic: عرس, literally "wedding") is the death anniversary of a Sufi saint in South Asia, usually held at the saint's dargah (shrine or tomb). In most Sufi orders such as Chishtiyya, Qadiriyya, etc. the concept of Urs exists and is celebrated with enthusiasm. The devotees refer to their saints as lovers of God, the beloved. The death of a Sufi saint is regarded as visal (union with the beloved), and the death anniversary is celebrated as a wedding anniversary.
Urs rituals are generally performed by the custodians of the shrine or the existing Shaikh of the silsila. The celebration of Urs ranges from Hamd to Naat and in some cases may also include the singing of religious music such as qawwali. The Urs of Moinuddin Chishti at Dargah Sharif in Ajmer attracts more than 400,000 devotees each year.

Jan Schneider
Dr Jan Schneider (born June 3, 1947 in New York City) is a Democratic politician. She ran for United States Congress in Florida's 13th congressional district in 2002 and 2004. Both times she won the Democratic Primary, and lost to Katherine Harris in the open election. She ran again for the open seat in the same district in 2006.
Schneider received her BA from Brown University; an MA in international affairs from Columbia University; and a JD and a PhD in political science from Yale. She has been a practicing lawyer, a law professor, an international civil servant, a businesswoman and a policy adviser. She is also the author of two books on international environmental law and numerous articles.
Congressional Elections
Schneider won 45% of the vote in both the 2002 and 2004 elections, in a district of 32% Democrats. Her campaign captured the largest portion of the vote of any congressional challenger in the state of Florida. Additionally, in 2004 her campaign was outspent in both the primary (at a roughly four-to-one ratio) and the general election (at a roughly ten-to-one ratio). Schneider appeared on a Colbert Report special report on April 24, 2006.

Er lebte 10 Jahre in New York und arbeitete u.a. für Calvin Klein, Valentino, Gucci und Armani. Sein Schauspielunterricht führte zu verschiedenen Filmrollen. 1987 wurde er als Mönch Venantius an der Seite von Sean Connery in „Der Name der Rose" international bekannt. 2009 erschien seine Biographie «Ich, der Neger». Althaus lebt heute in Flüelen am Urnersee.

You can get it if you really want. Wenn dieser Satz auf jemanden zutrifft, dann auf Florian Burkhardt. Er hat fast alles erreicht, was er wollte. Nur nicht das, was ihm am Wichtigsten war: Sich selbst zu entkommen.
Der Dokumentarfilm "electroboy" erzählt die atemlose Lebensgeschichte von einem, der aus beengten Schweizer Verhältnissen in die Welt hinauszieht auf der Suche nach Ruhm und Anerkennung. In einer Reihe von Erfolgsstories erfindet er sich in kürzester Zeit immer wieder neu, wechselt Milieus und Karrieren wie andere ihre Hemden.
Doch entpuppt sich dieses Leben im Eilzugtempo immer mehr als Flucht vor der eigenen Geschichte, die ihn irgendwann unerbittlich einholt. Ein schicksalhaftes Ereignis aus der Vergangenheit wirft seinen langen Schatten auf ihn und er muss sich der Frage stellen: Wer bin ich wirklich und warum?

Der Dokumentarfilm "electroboy" erzählt die atemlose Lebensgeschichte von einem, der aus beengten Schweizer Verhältnissen in die Welt hinauszieht auf der Suche nach Ruhm und Anerkennung. In einer Reihe von Erfolgsstories erfindet er sich in kürzester Zeit immer wieder neu, wechselt Milieus und Karrieren wie andere ihre Hemden.
Doch entpuppt sich dieses Leben im Eilzugtempo immer mehr als Flucht vor der eigenen Geschichte, die ihn irgendwann unerbittlich einholt. Ein schicksalhaftes Ereignis aus der Vergangenheit wirft seinen langen Schatten auf ihn und er muss sich der Frage stellen: Wer bin ich wirklich und warum?
