Luke Bryan (born July 17, 1976) is an American country singer. Bryan began his musical career in the mid-2000s, writing songs for Travis Tritt and Billy Currington. After signing with Capitol Records Nashville in 2007, he released the album I'll Stay Me, which included the singles "All My Friends Say", "We Rode in Trucks" and "Country Man". Followup album Doin' My Thing included "Do I", which Bryan co-wrote with Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, and the number one singles "Rain Is a Good Thing" and "Someone Else Calling You Baby". Tailgates & Tanlines, released in 2011, includes "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)" and his third number one, "I Don't Want This Night to End". Bryan co-wrote all of his singles with the exception of "Drunk on You" and co-produced all three albums with Jeff Stevens.
Bryan was born and raised in Leesburg, Georgia. At age fourteen, his parents bought him his first guitar, and after learning to play it, he joined various local bands and began to play in local clubs. After graduating Lee County High School, Bryan planned to move to Nashville, Tennessee; however, this move was delayed, due to the death of his brother, Chris, on the same day he planned to leave. Luke attended Georgia Southern University, and is a member of the Eta Zeta chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. After graduation Luke went to work for his dad, despite everyone encouraging him to move to Tennessee. His dad encouraged him to relocate and he arrived in Nashville in 2001, signing a record deal only two months later.
Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic (pronunciation: /ˈjæŋkəvɪk/; born October 23, 1959) is an American singer-songwriter, music producer, accordionist, actor, comedian, writer, satirist, and parodist. Yankovic is known for his humorous songs that make light of popular culture and that often parody specific songs by contemporary musical acts. Since his first-aired comedy song in 1976, he has sold more than 12 million albums (as of 2007), recorded more than 150 parody and original songs, and has performed more than 1,000 live shows. His works have earned him three Grammy Awards among nine nominations, four gold records, and six platinum records in the United States. Yankovic's first top ten Billboard album (Straight Outta Lynwood) and single ("White & Nerdy") were both released in 2006, nearly three decades into his career.
Yankovic's success comes in part from his effective use of music video to further parody popular culture, the song's original artist, and the original music videos themselves, scene-for-scene in some cases. He directed later videos himself and went on to direct for other artists including Ben Folds, Hanson, Black Crowes, and The Presidents of the United States of America. In addition to recording his albums, Yankovic wrote and starred in the film, UHF, and television show, The Weird Al Show. He has also made guest appearances on many television shows, in addition to starring in Al TV specials on MTV.
Miranda Leigh Shelton (née Lambert) (born November 10, 1983) is an American country music artist who gained fame as a finalist on the 2003 season of Nashville Star, where she finished in third place and later signed to Epic Records. Lambert made her debut with the release of "Me and Charlie Talking", the first single from her 2005 debut album Kerosene. This album, which was certified Platinum in the United States, also produced the singles "Bring Me Down", "Kerosene", and "New Strings". All four singles were Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
After Epic's Nashville division closed, Lambert was transferred to Columbia Records Nashville for her second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which was released in early 2007. Although the title track failed to make top 40, the next three singles ("Famous in a Small Town", "Gunpowder & Lead", and "More Like Her") were all Top 20 hits, with "Gunpowder & Lead" becoming her first Top 10 country hit in July 2008. Lambert's third album, Revolution, was released in September 2009. Five singles have been released from the album, including Lambert's two Number One hits "The House That Built Me," which spent four weeks at the top of the chart, and "Heart Like Mine". Lambert has also been honored by the Grammy Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, and the Country Music Association Awards.

I don't know how, but nights get lonely now
They keep appearing in my eyes
Such a warm and tender glow
For just one moment I remember all
The love we had was never all that bad
There were smiles and there were tears
On that special starry night, with your arms around me
Held on tight
Wasn't that the way it was?
Two strangers reaching for a worthless cause
Wasn't that the love we shared?
Or just the restless years when no-one cared
I don't know why, it's hard to say goodbye
Or even justify the end
You meant so very much to me
Then to let you go, start my life again
The love we had was never all that bad
There were smiles and there were tears
Till that special summer day
When I reached out for you, you just walked away
Wasn't that the way it was?
Two strangers reaching for a worthless cause
Wasn't that the love we shared?
Or just the restless years when no-one cared
When you move it like you really know how to move me
I follow you wherever you go
Heeheeheeheeheeheeheehee...
Everyone come see the greatest show.
Gather up all Juggalos and roll.
Everyone come see the greatest show.
Gather up all trugalopes and roll.
Ah yeah! Dum Diddy Dum,
Get your ass out the way 'cause here we come,
And we's bringin' this spectacle into ya town.
We got creep shows, freak shows (Wicked Clowns).
Most people don't like these Oddities.
Most people would love to have a shot at these.
If you think you too good for us sideshow freaks, let me know
And I'm gonna whip smack your cheeks! Come on...
Chorus 2X:
Everyone come see the greatest show.
Unlike anything that you know.
Come and be down wit the clowns.
The big Oddity freak show's in town
I'm a sideshow looney, watch me get nuts.
I do backflips out in fronta mad trucks.
And in high school the chicks always gave us probs,
'cause I was nine feet tall, and my boy's a cyclops.
I can swim shark-filled waters!
Yeah, well I can chew nails up and spit out quarters.
Go cryin for your daddy, what's that gonna do?
When he's just as shook as you, you little snoot
Chorus 2X
Everyone come see the greatest show.
Gather up all Juggalos and roll.
Everyone come see the greatest show.
Gather up all Juggalos and roll...
Where you goin' richy boy?
What's the matter son?
Just because we're a little different, you gotta run?
I'm an Oddity.
You're lookin' odd at me.
But then I gotta be.
And there's a lotta me.
We's a little bit twisted, I gladly admit it.
I can unscrew my head off, and shoot hoop with it.
And you can't, so you gotta label us weird.
Even though your mama's got a beard. What!
Chorus
I don't know how, but nights get lonely now
They keep appearing in my eyes
Such a warm and tender glow
For just one moment I remember all
The love we had was never all that bad
There were smiles and there were tears
On that special starry night, with your arms around me

When you move it like you really know how to move me
I follow you wherever you go
I just wan
That talk is just a worry and a worry in a man
That life is just a worrying and getting in a mess
That deal is just awakening his spirit to be giving him
The pleasure of the giving things within
That word is in it, that talk is in it
This day is of a meeting of the manner to be borne
And like a ship you come safely to the shore of love eternal
That beat is of the wanting of the where you're going
That street talk is the basis of the push and shove
They never told you that you have the right
The spirit of the angel, angels sing "shaava, shava shava-shaava"
They be waiting for you, they be asking for you
We depending on you, we depending on your healing of the structure centre
Until you reach and touch your own redemption
They never give you a reason, they never give you a reason
If you hear a politician
Or a singer making song
Do you just refuse to listen
Knowing that he must be wrong
That's the way it is, you know,
You just see what you want to see
Who am I to tell you how to think
Or tell you who to be
I will show you what I know
Sometimes we will disagree
If we learn at all to grow
Then I have done my small duty
That's the way it is, you know,
You just see what you want to see
Who am I to tell you how to think
Or tell you who to be
I could bring my favorite flower
Maybe yours would be the same
Maybe we would argue hours
Over the fair flower's name
That's the way it is, you know,
You just see what you want to see
Who am I to tell you how to think
Or tell you who to be
If I brought my good friends home
And set a welcome table place
Could you see them past their clothing
Or past the color of their face
That's the way it is, you know,
You just see what you want to see
Who am I to tell you how to think
Or tell you who to be
That's the way it is, you know
You just see what you want to see
It always feels like a love to me...in the beginning
My mind is just a mirror of the way my heart wants it to be...
I hope to see everything in his eyes, cause that's where it starts with the truth and the lies
And I can-not hide my emotion; you cannot hide your intentions from me.
Don't you think, what I'm saying is, it's just the way it is, it's just the way it is
Not everything is what you say it is, that's just the way it is, the way it is, the way it is
And everything you do to me, it'll be done to you
And everything I put you through, well then-I'll-go-through
But I'm willing to take that chance, for this type of romance...its special baby
I always look for love to be, so exciting...
But you can't force it I'm finding, in reality chemistry is everything.
Don't you think, what I'm saying is, it's just the way it is, it's just the way it is
Not everything is what you say it is, that's just the way it is, the way it is, the way it
is...
Yeah yeah
What your perception is, of our connection is simply perfection and it's the same thing
If you're accepting it, then I'm accepting it, simple perfection and its just the same thing,
uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uuuh-uh uh uh uh uh uh uuuh-uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uuuh-uh uh uh uh uh uh
uuuhh
Don't you think, what I'm saying is, it's just the way it is, it's just the way it is
Maybe we were meant to be like a heartbeat turning black
Wasted like the colors mixed while thieves steal out the black
It's like a broken smile, a step apart that gives you style
It doesn't need explaining you know it's fall when it starts raining
It's just the way it is
Touching through an open flame and sparks begin to fly
Looking for another way but you can't help passing by
It's not your enemy, it's the sense somehow you won't be free
It's only rank and file, trampled love, and walking wild
It's just the way it is
Within the crystal pains that we shattered long ago
Alone with what remains it's hard to let you know
In a no-win fight, I guess two wrongs don't make a right
We're in the dash between the way we are and what we've been
Didn' t I raise my voice
High enough for you
I was running like a fugitive all the time
Risking rejection from my own people yeah
Now that you got what you wanted
You don' t even know my name
It' s so funny, we don' t talk anymore
Be good to the people on your
Way up the ladder
Cause you' ll need them on your way down
Chorus:
That' s the way it is
Didn' t I raise fists high enough for you
I guess I can' t pat myself on the shoulder
For a job well done
Dodging bullets in the streets
I was there
Risking rejection from my own people yeah
Now that you got what you wanted
You don' t even know my name
remember
Be good to the people on your way
Up the ladder 'cause you' ll need
Them on your way down
Chorus:
In the silence of the morning
Comes a burnin' yellow light
A brand new day is dawnin'
And nothin' felt so right
Inside I feel the spirit
As I face and turn the sun
And you were nowhere near it
Now my life has just begun
I don't want you, I don't want you
I don't want you anyway
And I could never, I could never
Hurt you the way that you hurt me
And I don't understand
How could anyone have the right
To try and take my freedom
I don't want you, I don't want you
I don't want you anyway
Push your boat out into the water
As the tide comes rushing out
Your mother's only daughter
Now there seems to be some doubt
As you walk across the wasteland
That you seem to be proud of
You lay shackled in your fortress
That you look down from above
I could never hurt you
although i'm living low
i like to get real high
i'm going to live forever baby
never going to die
and what i've got to say
what i've got to say is
God bless your soul
i hope you find the way
i'd like to teach you all how
hey hey hey hey
i want you all to know
i've seen you for a long time
i've watched you as you grow
and what i've got to say is
and what i want to say is
God bless your soul
i'll help you find the way
That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is
That's just the way
That's just the way
That's just the way
That's just the way it is
That's just the way
That's just the way it is
That's just the way
That's just
That's just the way
That's just the way
That's just the way
That's just the way it is
That's just the way
That's just the way it is
That's just the way
That's just the way it is
That's just the way
That's just the way it is
That's just the way
I drove through the desert last night
I carried the weight of our last fight
Don't be cruel, and I wonder if you feel it too
It's like we're going under
Somewhere outside the lonely Esmeralda county line
The question of my heart came to my mind
[Hook]
If I go on with you by my side
Can it be the way it was?
When we met did you forget about those golden eyes?
Maybe a thief stole your heart
Maybe we just drifted apart
I remember driving in my daddy's car to the airfield
Blinking on the hood, backs against the windshield
Back then this thing was running on momentum, love and trust
That paradise is buried in the dust
[Hook]
If I go on with you by my side
Can it be the way it was?
When we met did you forget about those golden eyes?
All of our plans have fallen through
(Keith, Luccketta, Skeoch, Hannon)
Doesn't matter who gets the best of who, or who can hurt who the most, no
It never was meant for it to be that way, never should be that way at all
[Chorus:]
The way it is, that's the way that it goes, happenin' day after day, yes
That's the way it is, that's the way that it goes
Workin' in the strangest ways
Even though we could never seem to work things out
I still love you just the same, I do
I miss your smile and that sparkle in your eyes
You're so beautiful, never change!
[Chorus]
What it is, and what it was, what shall be shall be, yeah
Sometimes it happens in the strangest ways
Sometimes it's hard to believe (do you believe?)
Do you believe, can you believe?
The way it is, that's the way that it goes
Workin' in the, workin' in the strangest ways
[Solo]
Now it really don't matter who, who gets the best of who
It never did and it never will, no
It never was meant for it to be that way, why must it be that way at all?
The way it is, that's the way that it goes, happenin' day after day, yeah yeah
That's the way it is, that's the way that it goes
Workin' in the, workin' in the strangest ways
That's the way it is, that's the way it is
That's the way it is, that's the way it goes, yeah
Yeah, that's the way it is, that's the way it goes
That's the way it is, that's the way it goes
I see it happen day after day, yeah, yeah
Now I'm workin' in the strangest ways
Yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
[Solo]
Can you believe, do you believe? Do you believe, can you believe?
That's the way it is, that's the way it is, yeah yeah yeah
That's the way it is, that's the way it goes, yes it do
Alright!
help me, these kids have escaped the life i condemned them to live
i am the law of the youth i'm armed to control not protect
childhood's spent in school to teach them the ways of the world
then send them to work and to war cause this system's what they reject
i feed them my morals to live to live for the state and the organized church
anyone who thinks for them self is different and doesn't belong
these kids are rebellious and now they need to be stopped right away
they have no respect for the and their will to live is too strong
fuck you you bastards
they don't want a revolution
but a change in power's the only solution
take your laws away
fuck the world and fuck my peers i won't forget the past 18 years
and i won't regret the rest from this
order was established for us, decisions made before we were born
that's how it is and how it will be we live in conditions we hate
the next generation is here. we don't have to live by their rules
respect and compassion are void, but for us it's not too late
fuck you you bastards
the way it is, is the way it was and the way it will stay
just because so many of us want to accept it without a fight
fight back for your right to live any way you want to be
fuck those who refuse to accept your individuality
fuck those who control our future, mentally beating us down
let's show all those fucking stiffs, that we're in deep but we won't drown
fuck you you bastards
She was still sleeping; the problem will stay
One more day
Said she's not sorry the wind blows her way
Accidents happen, there's one planned today
Oh you see...
I wish it was not true
But that's the way it is
It's not your fault
That's the way it is
I'm sick of you
And that's the way it is
And will always be.
Wednesday is over, it's over again.
Said my goodbyes to the life we won't spend
Together...
I wish it was not true
But that's the way it is
It's not your fault
That's the way it is
I'm sick of you
And that's the way it is
But that's not your problem
That's not a problem
That's not my problem
That's not your problem.
Standing in line marking time--
Waiting for the welfare dime
'Cause they can't buy a job
The man in the silk suit hurries by
As he catches the poor old ladies' eyes
Just for fun he says "Get a job"
That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
But don't you believe them
They say hey little boy you can't go
Where the others go
'Cause you don't look like they do
Said hey old man how can you stand
To think that way
Did you really think about it
Before you made the rules
He said, Son
That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
But don't you believe them
Well they passed a law in '64
To give those who ain't got a little more
But it only goes so far
Because the law don't change another's mind
When all it sees at the hiring time
Is the line on the color bar
That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
The way I'm feeling now I don't know how I will survive
Like this, but that's the way it is
It's not what you want it's what you've got
You can't hang on to love, best admit
That's the way it is,
It's the way it is, not the way it could be
The way it was, or the way it should be
The things you miss, your lover's kiss
A voice you never could resist
You hear it echo in the mist saying, that's the way it is
Oh, the feelings gone, so what went wrong
Don't search for reason why
'Cause that's that
That's just where it's at
Like it or not, it's what is what and there's no turning back
Get this, that's just the way it is
It's the way it is not the way it could be,
The way it is was or the way it should be
The things you miss your lover's kiss a voice you never could resist
You hear it echo in the mist, saying that's the way it is
Soaking up the rain to wash away the pain
Can somebody explain why it's driving me insane
I'm soaking up the sun for I'm not the only one
That's been burned by love,
Oh, the days are long and the nights are young
You must come to terms
Don't be afraid cause that's the state of play
You can only have what you can have so give up on the ghost
That once was, there maybe no 'because'
Just the way it is not the way it could
The way it was, or the way it should be
The things you miss, your lover's kiss, a voice you never could resist
Punching air with your clenched fist will not change this
'Cause that's the way it is,
I'm not the way
I thought I was
It was starting to feel like the worst of times
I've got to choose sides
Am I wicked? am I right?
Or am I just reacting all the time?
I'm not the way
I thought I was.
I was starting to see all the worst in life.
I've got to lose sight
Of their pompous, boring lies
I was starting to think I couldn't fight
I've got to fight!
She was still sleeping; the problem will stay
One more day
Said she's not sorry the wind blows her way
Accidents happen, there's one planned today

But that's the way it is
It's not your fault
That's the way it is
I'm sick of you
And that's the way it is
But that's not your problem
That's not a problem
That's not my problem
So you think I need a friend
That's not the way it is
You never really understand
Still sitting by your side
Watching every move
There never really was a chance
Standing here alone
You're not here
My eyes are open wide
'Cause you must be there
Don't loose the love you feel in your heart
But that's just the way it is
With every move you make you're closer to the end
That's just the way it has to go....
Your massage came from far
A crimson moon it lights the sky
The nightland creatures see your fall
No one here to lead my way
Standing in line marking time-
Waiting for the welfare dime
'Cause they can't buy a job
The man in the silk suit hurries by

CHORUS
We knew your reputation we hoped that things could be different but
you just proved us wrong and now you're up to your same old tricks I
guess we learned a lesson that people don't change overnight things will
work out well with a little hard work it'll be alright
How could we be so foolish to rush head first, without a thought I guess
it goes to show if your unprepared you will be caught but now we've
learned a lesson a lesson which we won't forget with our newfound
wisdom things'll work out in the end
This is the way it is not how things should be this is the way it is this is
reality
This is the way it is not how things should be this is the way it is this is
reality
You seemed so sincere we'd work together it'd be lot's of fun but all
you saw was money it's not the issue 'til the music's done to you it's
doing business to us it's doing what we love we'll just do our thing we
won't give in for a buck
This is the way it is not how things should be this is the way it is this is
reality
This is the way it is not how things should be this is the way it is this is
reality
Like a soul attaining heaven we must ascend to greater heights got to
make a change got to make a change, the time is right now I wish you
well and thank you for what you've done for me to quote you "Mr.
Businessman" there's things in life that aren't free
This is the way it is not how things should be this is the way it is this is
reality
This is the way it is not how things should be this is the way it is this is
It was a beautiful idea when it started,
It hit so hard, I never thought it through.
Leaving the west side of town,
Way on up riverside rushing down,
That's the freest moment a city girl knew.
I've got the beauty of the moment,
Passed so quickly,
Now the tingle and the chill got me confused.
So as I buckle down, why knuckle you 'round.
Those free moments feel so fare and few.
That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is
An I can't help myself at all
That's just the way it is
I see you crossing the street,
Come and meet me.
Like an image come to mind too long ago.
Well there's a smile across your mouth
Those eyes are looking south.
If I could see them what would they let me know?
That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is
An I can't help myself at all
That's just the way it is
I looked and found them lost and started
I've sown and reeded and plowed the ground once more
I laid my hammer down, wandered this city all around
Ended up on the streets I walked before
That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is
An I can't help myself at all
That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is
An I can't help myself at all
You know the tides come together to mill stone to sand
One flies above just to gather his ways in his hand
Your loneliness is your lover, your fear is your friend
You know the tides come together to mill stone to sand
Everything was done a million times
Every path is beaten in the wild
Every man was born to die, they say
Every pattern drawn, there’s nothing left
And yet I keep on pushing through
Keep on searching, on and on again
I believe in what I want to see
And then see what I believe in
We suffer – on the road to
FIRE – to our Promised Land
DIRE – to where lies peace of mind
MIRE – just to touch the sun…
You know the tides come together to mill stone to sand
One flies above just to gather his ways in his hand
Your loneliness is your lover, your fear is your friend
You know the tides come together to mill stone to sand
The water comes, I need to ease my mind
The tide will come for everything I have
I take my souls and bury what is mine
I have to reach some other place and wait
I thought that I can touch the sun
I thought that I’m free now
I thought I was in God’s hands
I was wrong. Does it change it all?
The water’s rising, the water’s going up
The ground is breaking down, down beneath my feet
It washes over me, it cleans me, cleans me clean
The sun can save me, the sun the only thing
You know the tides come together to mill stone to sand
One flies above just to gather his ways in his hand
Your loneliness is your lover, your fear is your friend
You know the tides come together to mill stone to sand
What you feel now?
You’re standing eye-to-eye
(x2)
You wanna love the life
You wanna love the life
You wanna love it? – look at you now?
(x2)
You wanna love the life
You wanna love the life
You wanna love it, why you wanna love and feel it?
I want to be a sender, don’t want to be passed over now
I want to find salvation, don’t want my mind to die now
I want to be a sender, don’t want to be passed over now
I want to find salvation, don’t want my mind to die now
Fire, water, soul and body, earth, the mother, sun!
Listen to me fucker!
Verse 1:
She came into my day
I told her softly
That maybe she could stay
It feels so right
To feel like this
Cuz after all
Ignorance is bliss
She stayed a while
Then packed her things
That's why I sing
I lived like she wanted me to
Chorus:
Cuz I thought I was in love with you
I thought I was in love
I thought I was in love with you
I thought I was
I thought I was
Verse 2:
Next love I tried to look with both eyes open
Hoping that I would find
Myself a better half
Let's do the math
And take away the point of view
She blinded me
I stumbled in
I fell for her
Once again
I lived like she wanted me to cuz
Chorus:
I thought I was love with you
I thought I was love with you
Maybe you thought you was in love too
But I thought I was in love with you
Thought I was
Verse 3:
Last love I had
Last thing I needed
But who was gonna tell me that
If it was real
Then I should feel
Somebody giving it back to me
So it's a shame
No need to blame
We play these games
Whether we know
I lived like she wanted me to
Don't tell me
My love's not the one that I want
That he's not the one that I need
I'd rather
find out for myself
You're the one
Who shakes at the touch of my hand
but can't decide where he should stand
If I was smart
I'd never call you, call you
ever again
Oh, in my ears
my blood is just roaring
when he's the only one I've ever wanted
I suppose that's just the way it is
Just to think this could be
The last time I hold you, hold you
ever again
Oh, I don't think I'll ever sleep till
morning
'cause he's the only one I've ever wanted
Oh, and in my ears
my blood is just roaring
'cause he's the only one I've ever wanted
My father told me
Son, it's OK to have ideals,
but beliefs against your government still won't pay your bills.
You can raise your fists and publicly resist
but in the end corruption still exists.
And no protest song will ever change the world.
Everybody does exactly as they are told.
In the end every man works for what is his.
You can fight the world, but that's just the way it is.
You're words are not meaningless to me,
I feel their honesty but it's my life I gotta figure out for me.
It's what I've always done not what I have become
and I know the consequences that will come.
And if I never reach the world or speak to people's souls
it's a passion that will not die as I grow old.
It's what I choose to do
it may not work for you but to myself I know I must be true.
I am not afraid to stand right where I've stood.
My beliefs they are unchanged because I believe they should.
And I'll measure my success one word at a time.
Yeah (New York, New York)
Time to get up in that hit-ass (Brooklyn)
Uh, the rap savior (representin' kid)
Ill behavior (let's break it down)
[Chorus]
This one is for the thugs, hustlers, big willie mobsters
I kill rappers on a reg 'cause it's my job to
Seperate the real from the fake
So I reveal the truth and break it down on a wax plate
Your raps get bombarded
Allow our ?? don't disregard it
Wanna be slick, chicks why you act so retarded?
All you pseudo-tough guys end up dearly departed
As a young juvenille I started
Learnin' from some older dudes
From the pimps to stick-up men
And back then you had to know the rules
The peer pressure it can get you
Knocked and locked-up
Or laid the fuck out upon a stretcher
[Chorus]
Peep the melody
Brooklyn is deeper than a felony
Raps are full of violence
Who wanna challenge
'Cause Kai rep
Whatever Kai choose to kick
A man's child from the Nile
Look at my style ain't it raw?
But too mature to be labeled wild
Ain't nothing fake I create
I don't tolerate static
My brain'll cause drama like an automatic
So bang, I'm living large like a king
The ??
I'm drinking pure mathematics
With the power ??
I ?? my knowledge as a ??
Plus I'm invisible
And I apply by using my third Eye
Stimulation and high off the lie
And better yet, I'm a vet
As I manifest, wise words from my breath
And my wisdom'll flow until my dyin' day of death
With topics and subjects to every aspect
I bless the mic with intellect
Don't pay attention you'll get stuck
You're straight outta luck
'Cause niggas been beamin' you
And they schemin' for fast bucks
While chickenheads be awe-struck
By the thugs with ill mugs who act bugged and don't give a fuck
It's systematic when flippin' dough like acrobatics
Fiends and addicts gettin' served by green fanatics
It's savage, Jake's more corrupt than we are
In the alley behind the bar
Bringin' product from Panama and Bogota
Rulin' the game superior
The crime biz: the way it is in America
I'm killin' rappers like I've gone mad
My heat is righteous
Too many brothers have gone bad
At times I lay in my bed holdin' my head smokin' weed
Like a dred drinkin' liquor for dough
Askin' myself one question (Yo, what's that, huh?)
Why adolescents gotta get murdered to learn a lesson?
Stay on point with the joint in my ??
'Cause ain't no tellin' us when slugs might touch my chest
Feelin' like I'm blessed
Livin' life by the day, Monday through Sunday
Involved in gunplay, it's like a warzone
That's why I think with the chrome
And hold my own, but never walkin' these streets alone
It's like I'm walkin' on top of high heat
With no shoes on my feet
Watchin' the flames get higher as the gun shots fire
[Chorus]
I'm supposed to give up guns 'til my probation is done
Still I'm waitin' for son to bring the three-eight long one
They try to deny what's happenin' to us
But nowadays it pays to be strapped ready to bust
Let's discuss what would you do
If you're confronted with jealousy you at least get a twenty-two
Plenty of us go through this syndrome
It's better to fight than die poor and alone
The mob guys be gettin' loot for protection
They live and die for their profession
[Chorus]
Yeah, we doin' it low budget environment style
It's like walkin' through the ghetto when they feelin' is fine
Everybody know the time, uh, East New York Style, uh
Yeah, East New York Style
[Chorus]
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Big Big Shug, Big Big Shug
[x2:]
[Run:] ("And this is the way.. the way..")
[Big Shug:] ("The way it is")
[Big Shug:]
I'm not the, _Lord of the Rings_, I'm the lord of poppin them things
Settin you up, and takin your bling
Hoes love the way I spit it though
Cause of the "Speakerboxxx" they give me "Love Below"
I'm from Murderpan where they raise no snitches
But some cats still do, I navigate
nicely around them cats, you snitch on me?
They find your ass out back
Bein chewed on by the pigeons and the rats
Hollow your body, and that's a fact black
Fo' sure
You not an MC, youse a rapper
Fashion yourself, after Hollywood actors
I ain't hatin on your progression though
Cause for two years now your skills have been in recession yo
No aggression, no passion, no heart
That's when shit, starts to fall apart
More money, more security
Out of touch nigga you can't even feel me
Deadbeat nigga owe money to your kids
That's just the way it is, the way it is
[Chorus:]
("And this is the way.. the way.."} ("The way it is")
[Erick Sermon:] ("Now I'm back with the flyest material")
("And this is the way.. the way.."} ("The way it is")
("I got plans for this rap game")
("And this is the way.. the way.."} ("The way it is")
[Guru:] ("The look in my eye punk, has got you scared of me")
("And this is the way.. the way.."} ("The way it is")
("The way it is")
[Big Shug]
Lil' mane, playin the blame game
Can't take the weight, blame it on your mayne
Sound like a bitch, a-gain in the game
When shit's goin smooth you go against the grain
Fake cuckoo, like you goin insane
But won't hold a gun to your motherfuckin brain
You used to be so right, you used to be so tight
Now I wanna knock out your fuckin lights
Fright night nigga, scared of your own shadow
You, you, yes you, you wanna battle?
I'll eat your ass up and stuff you in a barrel
Crush up your bones and feed the pits the marrow
Serious biz, I got out for the scriz
That's just the way it is, the way it is
[Run:] ("And this is the way.. the way.. the way..")
[Chorus]
[Big Shug:]
Dat's your wife? I know niggaz that hit that
While you were bangin backs they was blowin out her back
This is wack, cause this is not on the low
But you like Mario, you don't wanna know
Trick like crazy, bills rather large
You go back to the crib screamin like you in charge
I'm in that black car smokin blunts in your yard
Suspect, no guts to be hard
Take you to the river tie your ass to the log
Better yet, how about splittin your wig
That's just the way it is, the way it is
[Run:] ("And this is the way.. the way..")
Yeah this is Big Shug baby, wait no more
This is definitely a sure shot
Holdin it down for the Gang Starr Foundation
Team Shug, and all those
My man T. West, Singapore
My man Guru, Primo! Holdin me down
This is how we move it, CL, this is the one for you man
We gon' take it to the top
My heart can't bear to figure out
What hurt is all about
And all this stupid pain that you put me through
I wish you wouldn't blow this chance
To stop this ignorance
And just let me in
Your world to start anew
But that's the way it is, oh yeah
That's the way it is
Push and shove, kick and rub --
The things we do for love
It's like a war with it's
Pointless casualties
And when you think you're near the end,
It just begins again
And the life you hope to start one day
Just flies away
But that's the way it is, oh yeah
That's the way it is
Instrumental
Oh, now that's the way it is, oh yeah
Fuck you, shut your fucking mouth. We didn't ask for your opinion. We're telling you the way it is so sit back and listen. Your position is irrelevant to this situation, it's black and white, you're wrong we're right, and you'd better come to that realization. Because it's murder plain and simple, no justification for the taking of a life without provocation. You'd be guilty of crimes in courts through out the nation; if your victim was human you could face execution. Laid down in stone there can be no other definition. Meat and dairy production is torturing, is killing, for no purpose for your ego for the taste their blood you're spilling. Belsen, Auchwitz, Dachau the similarity is frightening. A master race mentality of liberty for those with superiority. Your moral civilized society is built on brutality and cruelty. Where normality is insanity and sanity extreme ideology. Like the resistance to Nazi Germany, we don't obey laws of barbarity. So expect no fucking mercy if you're guilty you will pay. No chances to discuss it you're gonna fucking hang. Terrorists and hooligans? Just you fucking wait! If that's the image you create of us you ain't seen nothing yet. What did you think this was a college debate? This is war so stay the fuck out of the way we're coming through that door. And once we free those enslaved we'll even up the score. Guilty of murder you'll face the new law!
Good times were burning so strong and so bright
That other lovers pale
But we know the good times they come and they go
Coz life’s no fairytale
So if you wake one morning
And your heart starts questioning
You gotta hold on and don’t let go
Coz when it all starts falling
Tell me can you build it back up again
Can you promise me baby…
(CHORUS)
We don’t talk any more
We don’t dance in the dark
You gotta hold on
And don’t let me out of your world
We don’t walk in the rain
You don’t call out my name
You gotta hold on and don’t let me go
That’s the way it is, that’s the way it is
No lies no secrets I hide from your eyes
The way it’s meant to be
Coz in time in time we all lose this disguise
And beauty fades away
Coz when you wake one morning
And I’m not the way that I used to be
You gotta hold on and don’t let go…
And when it all starts falling
Tell me can you build it back up again
Can you promise me baby…
CHORUS
And like a ship on the ocean
Without your love watching over me
I’m lost at sea
If I needed you would you rescue me
Standing in line marking time
waiting for the welfare dime
'Cause they can't buy a job.
The man in the silk suit hurries by
As he catches the poor old ladies' eyes
Just for fun he says: Get a job.
That's just the way it is
some things will never change
That's just the way it is
but don't you believe them.
They say: Hey
little boy
you can't go where the others go
'Cause you don't look like they do.
Said: Hey
old man
how can you stand to think that way?
Did you really think about it before you made the rules?
He said: Son -
That's just the way it is
some things will never change
That's just the way it is
but don't you believe them.
Well
they passed a law in '64
To give those who ain't got a little more
But it only goes so far.
Because the law don't change another's mind
When all it sees at the hiring time is the line on the color bar.
That's just the way it is
some things will never change
That's just the way it is
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way it is
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way it is
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way you say it is
I need a heartache, nut it won't be long
Till I get to where it's coming on
A little fame...
... and it's coming for you
No matter how hard I've tried to stay
I feel you Wulling me further away
Eh, eh, eh
Uh, uh, uh
Eh, eh, eh
Uh, uh, uh
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way it is
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way it is
... trivial game
You look good when you shaking my way
But let me think of something awful to say
Ye-e-e-ah, uh-uh-uh
Ye-e-e-ah, uh-uh-uh
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way it is
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way it is
I step back take a total view
I take some little, baby it's hard to do
But I'll call, I'll try to change
It's better than to stay the same
Eh, eh, eh
Uh, uh, uh
Eh, eh, eh
Uh, uh, uh
Eh, eh, eh
Uh, uh, uh
Eh, eh, eh
Uh, uh, uh
Everything's the way it is
It's got to be the way it is
Everything's the way it is
