Kick - Full Movie Review - Salman Khan & Jaqcueline Fernandez
Salman Khan’s Kick is definitely the mega-entertainer we have all been waiting for all year. It has everything- death-defying action stunts, sizzling dance numbers, a gorgeous heroine, a diabolical villain and above all – you have Salman Khan. So Kick is the story of Devi Lal (Salman) who meets Shaina (Jacqueline Fernandez) during an incredible chase sequence right at the start of the film. They fall in love and we slowly get to know Devi’s maverick personality who loves doing crazy things for Kick. All this is narrated in the flashback by a distraught Jacqueline who is now being forced to marry one Inspector Tyagi (Randeep Hooda). Poor Tyagi is himself in search of a man named Devil who, surprise surprise, is Devi Lal himself. The action moves to Warsaw and then we are introduced to the real villain in the story – Firoz (Nawazuddin Siddique), the corrupt nephew of a corrupt politician. What follows is a whirlwind of romance, drama and intense action scenes that will leave you gasping for more. As always Salman steals the show. He is lovable, charming, funny, witty, intense and often very intimidating. But for the first time in a Salman Khan film, the other elements are really good too. And Sajid Nadiadwala is the man who should really take a bow. He gets everything right, from the tight screenplay to the snappy dialogues as well as the top notch cinematography – Kick is a complete package from start to finish. The film also delivers an important message but that never affects the entertainment factor. Jacqueline Fernandez looks absolutely stunning and you will have to watch her solo act during the the Jumme Ki Raat song to really understand what we mean. She really shines as a solo heroine and proves that she can match up to the very best Bollywood has to offer. Mithun Chkraborty and Archana Puran Singh are hilarious while Randeep Hooda nicely compliments Salman’s character. Nawazuddin Siqqiue is brilliant as the antagonist and brings his A game. His character will instantly remind you of Batman’s Joker and he does it very very well. The music by Himesh Reshammiya is of course very effective and all the songs add to the experience. Add to that Salman and Jacqueline’s dance moves and you have a very winning combination. All in all, Salman Khan’s Kick is the kind of film that is sure to break a number of records on its way to the 200 Crores mark... and the 300 Crore figure also seems very possible. This four starrer blockbuster film is definitely the movie you should be watching this Eid. Kick movie review: Salman Khan’s film delivers more than your expectation by http://www.bollywoodlife.com Here is what we think about the Salman-Jacqueline starrer magnum opus Devi Lal (Salman Khan) gets a ‘kick’ out of doing the most odd things in life. He doesn’t live the stereotypical life of an average Joe. Instead he goes about doing things that make him happy or in his words give him a ‘kick’. Before you wonder what is the ‘kick’ concept, let me tell you that the makers have written the story in such a way that all his idiosyncrasies and strange habits and behavior make sense when the story unfolds to its logical end in the climax. Devi Lal becomes Devil in the second half with a police inspector (Randeep Hooda) playing a cat and mouse game with him. Nawazuddin plays the baddie, but in the most unconventional way. Jacqueline provides the glamour quotient and gives Salman the much needed sizzle and sex appeal. The Salman of Kick seems like a different person. He’s more confident, relaxed, at ease even when he’s doing Ahmed Khan’s difficult dance steps in Jumme Ki Raat, or giving those tight closeups which looked slightly embarrassing in his previous films. His fans will eat up his every dialogue, move and mannerism in the first half. Jacqueline not only looks like a million bucks but she’s sprung a huge surprise in Jumme Ki Raat where she does a Beyonce meets Shakira one minute solo act which will have your jaw drop in awe! Words can’t explain the sheer awesomeness of that moment. Randeep Hooda has some brilliant moments courtesy dialogues by Rajat Arora. Nawazuddin steals the thunder every time he comes on screen. The actor has got an amazing role in Kick, and he leaves no stone unturned in ensuring he plays up to the gallery with those smart alec one liners. Production values are top class and the film looks rich and stylish. Nargis Fakhri’s Devil song comes at the right point giving the film a shot in its arm. She looks stunning and the song looks hauntingly beautiful on the big screen Kick isn’t just reinventing Salman’s work portfolio, but it is also going to rewrite box-office figures and previous records set by the actor. Kick is a full on entertainer that will give you the much needed ‘kick’ in cinema halls this weekend!- published: 25 Jul 2014
