BUDDHA - THE TRUE LIFE - (Documentary) - Religion/Buddhism
Gautama Buddha, also known as Siddhārtha Gautama, Shakyamuni,, or simply the Buddha, was a sage on whose teachings Buddhism was founded.A native of the ancient Shakya republic in the Himalayan foothills, Gautama Buddha taught primarily in northeastern India. Buddha means "awakened one" or "the enlightened one." "Buddha" is also used as a title for the first awakened being in an era. In most Buddhist traditions, Siddhartha Gautama is regarded as the Supreme Buddha (Pali sammāsambuddha, Sanskrit samyaksaṃbuddha) of our age.Siddhartha was born in a royal Hindu family.[37] He was brought up by his mother's younger sister, Maha Pajapati.By tradition, he is said to have been destined by birth to the life of a prince, and had three palaces (for seasonal occupation) built for him. Although more recent scholarship doubts this status, his father, said to be King Śuddhodana, wishing for his son to be a great king, is said to have shielded him from religious teachings and from knowledge of human suffering. When he reached the age of 16, his father reputedly arranged his marriage to a cousin of the same age named Yaśodharā (Pāli: Yasodharā). According to the traditional account,[which?] she gave birth to a son, named Rāhula. Siddhartha is said to have spent 29 years as a prince in Kapilavastu. Although his father ensured that Siddhartha was provided with everything he could want or need, Buddhist scriptures say that the future Buddha felt that material wealth was not life's ultimate goal.- published: 19 Oct 2013

Triitak 05
As his mother passed away seven days after his birth, the queen's sister brought up the prince with great affection and tenderness. He was surrounded by all kinds of luxuaries. Though still a child and attended in this fashion by the various kinds of sensory pleasure suitable to his age, yet in gravity, purity, thoughtfulness and dignity he was unlike a child. He received an all-round education. Being intelligent and eager to learn, the Prince became very good at studies and military skills. All the Brahmins and astrologers prophesied that if the child renounced the kingdom, he would become a Buddha; otherwise, he would become a universal monarch. One day a rishi called Krishna, along with his nephew, came to the kingdom for the Himalayas. King Suddhodana asked: "Why have you come here?" and the rishi replied: "Great king, I have come to see your son - the sage and liberator of sentient beings. I have to come and see. What kind of prediction have others made about him?" King Suddhodana replied: "He will become a wheel-turner king. The treasure of the teaching contains all the virtues. He will achieve Buddhahood, becoming victorious over all the faults. He will work for the welfare and happiness of mankind.- published: 14 Apr 2014

Buddha Buried - Portrait Gautama Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama
Where was the Buddha Buried, Real Portrait of Siddhartha Gautama(Gautama Buddha) revealed. Gautama Buddha, also known as Siddhārtha Gautama, Shakyamuni, or simply the Buddha, was a sage on whose teachings Buddhism was founded. Subscribe here http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=lionsground His teachings: The three teachings Buddha was not to be ignorant, hate and angry. Four sights: One day out of curiosity he asked a charioteer to take him on a ride through the countryside. There he saw an aged man, then a sick man, a corpse and a wandering ascetic. For the first time in life he realized and felt that what actually the reality was. He was moved by all that he saw and realized the actual reality of the life was outside his palace and not within it. Realization: He returned to the Palace but he couldn't enjoy the pleasure of the palace and wandered around in the Palace alone in the night. He realized that all good things, all that is beautiful will eventually perish. Even the news of the birth of his son couldn't make him happy. So he gave up all the princely things and changed into the clothes of a beggar and went out of the palace in quest of enlightenment. Prediction: When he was born within few days it was predicted that either he would grow up to become a great ruler or he will become a saint. His father preferred the first one and locked him into the palace and was not allowed outside so he didn't have any idea about the world outside the palace. He was provided with the knowledge that would help him to become a great ruler. Seeking teacher: When he left the palace he started looking for teachers who could preach him about different religion and how to meditate. He tried many things but he was not able to attain the answers that he was looking for. He found out the middle way to gain enlightenment. Enlightenment: Siddhartha sat under a sacred fig and started meditating. It is believed that he was challenged by Mara a demon whose name means destruction and with the help of earth as witness he won the challenge and then Mara disappeared. At the end of the meditation he achieved all answers to his question and became a Buddha. Reluctant teacher: First he was reluctant about teaching as he believed that what he knows or realized is very difficult to explain in words. Only through pure mind and discipline one could attain the great reality. But compassion persuaded him to make the attempt and he started teaching the doctrines about enlightenment. Followers: Once he started teaching, there were hundreds of followers. Re-united: Eventually he reconciled with his father, King Suddhodana. His wife, the devoted Yashodhara, became a nun and disciple. Another interesting fact about Buddha is that his son Rahula became the youngest monk at the very age of 7 and started living with his father. Word of wisdom: He traveled tirelessly till the age of 80 when he died. His last words to his followers were to work towards their own deliverance as nothing in this world is permanent.
