Introduction to Physical Oceanography Lab - 10 Sep 2013 - Stony Brook University
The Introduction to Physical Oceanography course (MAR 352) in the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University heads out to the ocean south of the Shinnecock Inlet on 10 September 2013 to do two stations investigating the vertical structure of the water column. These were some of the sloppiest/roughest conditions we've ever had in this course so the Tuesday lab section did a great job in hanging in there (literally) and getting their work done. This course is held at the Stony Brook Southampton campus as part of the Semester by the Sea - Marine Sciences program. Intro to Physical Oceanography Lab - Time Lapse - 05 Sep 2013 - Stony Brook University
A time-lapse of the 05 September 2013 Intro to Physical Oceanography (MAR 352) Laboratory, a course in the Semester by the Sea - Marine Sciences program of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences of Stony Brook University. The course takes place at the Stony Brook Southampton campus. Instructor: Professor Joe Warren. The students were learning how to use the different sampling instruments (Secchi disk, handheld CTD, SeaBird 19+ CTD, Niskin Bottles, etc) at two stations in the Atlantic Ocean just south of the Shinnecock Inlet. We had a bumpy ride out through the inlet, but the ocean conditions were fine to work in.
