It’s pretty clear that crop tops were the number one fashion trend at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, and Clevver’s Trophy Life is breaking down not one, not two, but SEVEN of our absolute favorites. Oh yeah…The crop top is THE perfect summer fashion statement and it seems that nearly every star decided to center their outfits around the skin-bearing style, so with that being said, let’s start things off with Kim Kardashian’s edgy crop top style. The reality star didn’t really get the “summer” memo as she is sporting a leather, long sleeved crop top in the middle of August, but that didn’t stop us from falling for it. Yes, we personally would have waited until winter to rock this look, but Kim is a style rebel so we gotta give her props for that. She paired the crop top with a zebra print pencil skirt and some nude heels and kept her hair and makeup pretty simple. Looking fab, girl. Next up on our crop top countdown is the absolute QUEEN of crop tops – Miss Taylor Swift. Ninety percent of the outfits T-Swift has been rocking this summer have all been crop top oriented, so we weren’t really that surprised when she rolled through the TCAs blue carpet in this retro-green number. Sticking with the co-ords crop top style, Taylor’s look did have a few black and white accents on the skirt, and she paired the ensemble with some strappy yellow heels. Sassy and and we like it! Oh, and how could we forget those signature red lips! Coming in at number three on our list is “If I Stay” star Chloe Grace Moretz whose crop top certainly was a little more on the risqué side. It’s really more of a bandeau than anything, but still, we we’re kinda feelin’ it! Chloe paired the basic black crop top with a pair of black and red shorts with a beautifully intricate print. In addition to that, she kept the print going by rocking a jacket similarly fashioned but there was also a little white in there to keep things fresh. Alright moving right along we have Jordin Sparks’ tropical inspired crop top look. Again, Jordin was showing a LOT of skin with this ensemble, but this was a perfect outfit for a summer awards show, don’t you think? And she had one great accessory on her arm – boyfriend Jason DeRulo! Next up we have Kylie Jenner – who turned 17 on Sunday August 10 aka the same day as the awards show! And keeping things young and fun – just like her – Kylie took a normal looking black crop top and paired it with a fun, metallic printed skirt. We love the unique cut on the bottom – and it really adds an edgy flair to the look. And is it just me, or does Kylie and Kim look like they coordinated ahead of time, right? PS, we are in love with those strapped heels yall! Nina Dobrev turned some heads in her crop top on the blue carpet. The Vampire Diaries star took a page from Taylor Swift and went with a co-ord crop top look. This pink and blue print looked awesome on Nina, and we love that she paired it with some shorts! Super summer chic! Also, those gold details on the bottom of the shorts were super sassy and that fishtail braid is to DIE for! And last but certainly not least, we have Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell who looked positively WHITE HOT in a lacy skirt and crop top ensemble that had us in love! Similar to Nina’s look, Shay went with a braided side do - but mixed things up with a really dark lip. And we are loving everything about this from head to toe.
