"Working With Communities Here and There", is the last part of a series of six short videos on female genital mutilation (FGM) and asylum: "Too Much Pain -- The Voices of Refugee Women" produced by the UN Refugee Agency (http://www.UNHCR.org).
Here, refugee women explain the importance of awareness raising on FGM through different channels and approaches, including fashion shows and art work, and the need to involve diaspora communities. Women should be empowered to abandon the practice of FGM and men must be involved in the process. This part shows how preventing FGM requires working with practising communities at grassroots level in the countries of origin and countries of asylum. Ending FGM involves changing social norms of practising communities here and there.
The 6-part video series "Too Much Pain - The Voices of Refugee Women" tells the stories of refugee women who have undergone FGM and are engaged to end this practice. These women explain their experiences of flight, asylum and integration in the EU.
The short films can be used as a training tool on FGM in the asylum system, and to raise awareness on FGM and asylum in wider audiences.
They complements the UNHCR publication "Too Much Pain: Female Genital Mutilation & Asylum in the European Union - A Statistical Overview".

Finance minister Larry Howai has confirmed that the light rail project is no longer a pressing priority of the government despite earlier indications by the transport ministry that it would go the way of a public private partnership or PPP. The minister says that he narrowed down to just 10, which he hopes to begin rolling out in November. He says as part of this arrangement, tolls can soon be expected. Sampson Nanton reports.

Speaking at the post-budget panel discussion hosted by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce this morning, minister Howai said the real figure is 80 US dollars and not 75 US dollars as he had stated. The Oilfield Workers Trade Union believes budget 2012/2013 lacked detail and will bring more hardship to the people of this country. President general and head of the OWTU Ancel Roget says the budget was full of deceit.

Rawa (Arabic: راوة) or Rawah is an Iraqi town on the Euphrates river. It lies on the north bank of the river, upstream by approx. 20 kilometers from the much larger town of Anah. People from this town are known by the appellation Rawi or surname al-Rawi.
The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant or ISIL (also known as ISIS) has reportedly controlled the town since 2014.

Too Much Pain
"Too Much Pain" (トゥ・マッチ・ペイン, Tu Matchi Pein) was the twelfth single by the Japanese band The Blue Hearts and reached #29 on the Oricon charts in 1992.
Details
Too Much Pain was released as part of The Blue Hearts' fifth album, High Kicks, which had been released on December 21, 1991, but the song itself was from the band's amateur days many years prior. They had planned on including it in the independent release with Blue Hearts Theme and Chernobyl, but the song Sha La La was thought to be a better fit.
Up until 1987, the song was performed regularly, with nothing more than Mashima's guitar and Hiroto Kōmoto's vocals. After that, they only played the song on special occasions. The last time that the two of them performed the song live by themselves was on May 31, 1989, on the last day of their On Tour tour in Yoyogi Park. The two chose to perform that day because they had once seen Bruce Springsteen perform at a concert there and sang it as a tribute.
The B-side track, Nakanaide Koibito Yo (泣かないで恋人よ, Don't Cry, Lover), was also written by Mashima. It is still occasionally performed by The Blue Hearts' supporting member Mikio Shirai when he plays with his new band, The Big Hip.

"Working With Communities Here and There", is the last part of a series of six short videos on female genital mutilation (FGM) and asylum: "Too Much Pain -- The Voices of Refugee Women" produced by the UN Refugee Agency (http://www.UNHCR.org).
Here, refugee women explain the importance of awareness raising on FGM through different channels and approaches, including fashion shows and art work, and the need to involve diaspora communities. Women should be empowered to abandon the practice of FGM and men must be involved in the process. This part shows how preventing FGM requires working with practising communities at grassroots level in the countries of origin and countries of asylum. Ending FGM involves changing social norms of practising communities here and there.
The 6-part video series "Too Much Pain - The Voices of Refugee Women" tells the stories of refugee women who have undergone FGM and are engaged to end this practice. These women explain their experiences of flight, asylum and integration in the EU.
The short films can be used as a training tool on FGM in the asylum system, and to raise awareness on FGM and asylum in wider audiences.
They complements the UNHCR publication "Too Much Pain: Female Genital Mutilation & Asylum in the European Union - A Statistical Overview".

Finance minister Larry Howai has confirmed that the light rail project is no longer a pressing priority of the government despite earlier indications by the transport ministry that it would go the way of a public private partnership or PPP. The minister says that he narrowed down to just 10, which he hopes to begin rolling out in November. He says as part of this arrangement, tolls can soon be expected. Sampson Nanton reports.

Speaking at the post-budget panel discussion hosted by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce this morning, minister Howai said the real figure is 80 US dollars and not 75 US dollars as he had stated. The Oilfield Workers Trade Union believes budget 2012/2013 lacked detail and will bring more hardship to the people of this country. President general and head of the OWTU Ancel Roget says the budget was full of deceit.

Telaga Harbour is a yachting marina that houses plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs, bank, post office and a petrol station.
Set directly at the beach, is a five-star hotel, The Danna Hotel Langkawi. This stylish resort is just 2km from the scenic Langkawi Cable Car and The Langkawi Sky Bridge.
The Public beach of Pantai Kok is located just slight north of the Danna Hotel. Pantai Kok is a public beach which is accessible 24 hours and free entry.
Along the stretch of the beach, you can see coconut palms and trees. This is a wonderful, quiet and secluded public beach. The water here at the beach is shallow. During low tide, it is only deep enough for paddling and some splashings.
Pantai Kok Beach is great for both couples and families to relax at the beach. The sea conditions are almost always calm so it is great for swimming too.
On the weekends or public holiday, it can get very packed and crowded, as many local families will come here to picnic and relax at the beach. Despite that, the beach is very clean and well maintained.
Unlike Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah Beaches, there is very limited choice of accommodations at this public beach. The only accommodations nearby are the Danna Hotel and the Last Resort. The only inexpensive accommodation in the area is Geopark Hotel Langkawi that is located at the Oriental Village which is 5 minutes drive from the beach. Geopark hotel rates starting at RM150 per night with air-conditioner and TV. There are also dormitory beds at RM15 per night.
There are no public facilities like toilets or changing rooms at the beach. You will need to bring your own gears, as no rentals are available here either.
There are no restaurants at the beach. The nearest restaurants are located at the Perdana Quay that is about 5 minutes drive from the beach. This is why Pantai Kok Beach is so secluded and quiet.
However, there are some food trucks set up at the beach where you can get some light snack food such as Mee Rebus (RM4), Pasembur (RM4), Laksa (RM3) and Malaysian Rojak. Food truck Hafiz Rojak is very popular among the locals.
Pantai Kok Beach is just 10 minutes drive from the Langkawi International Airport. To get to the beach, you can easily come here by taxi; it costs about RM25 from the airport. If couples or solo travellers, my suggestion is to rent a motorbike at the airport for about RM40 per day.
For happy hour, Perdana Quay is the place. There are a few great bars that serve wine and other alcoholic beverages such as the Broadwalk & Restaurant, Mare Blu, Tapaz, Hamichi, and a few others. These bars are really well stocked with many different cocktails to choose from. Happy hours start as early as 3pm till 7pm.
