I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins
Like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, forever and ever
Oh, we can be heroes just for one day
I, I will be King
And you, you will be Queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be heroes just for one day
We can be us just for one day
I, I can remember
(I remember)
Standing by the wall
(By the wall)
And the guns, shot above our heads
(Over our heads)
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall
(Nothing could fall)
And the shame, was on the other side
Oh, we can beat them, forever and ever
Then we could be heroes just for one day
We can be heroes
We can be heroes
We can be heroes just for one day
Son you make me feel so proud I pop the buttons of my shirt
I know I said I'd take you to the lake today
But I'm going to have to break those plans and it really hurts
Every time I go fishin' it'd always start me wishin'
That I could be a child again
Take my 50 cents and go down to the local picture show
To watch my heroes rope and ride
Most times they'd win but when they'd lose it always made me cry
Ain't nothing quite as sad as watching your heroes die
One by one as they fall soon there'll be no heroes at all
[ piano ]
Well I guess the fish just ain't bitin' just as well it don't feel like fightin'
All in all it just ain't that great a fishin' day that old newspaper headline
Kind of wrapped around this old heart of mine another big one got away
And I can't count the times he's made me laugh
But this time he's made me cry
There ain't nothing quite as sad as watching your heroes die
Look over on your left
Look over on the right
There's nothing you can see out there
But this ain't no fair fight
A lot of people dying
Men driven raving mad
They scream out there for hours
And it makes you feel really bad
Heroes, heroes
Nobody wants to be here
Nobody wants to fall
Fools, fools
But no one walks away from here
Backs to the wall
Stand your ground and fight
You know that our cause is right
We are the ones whose hope has gone
Hold and stand fast
Stand and do your best
Stand and face your test
Until you fall, you must obey the call
For we are the last
Do you understand
How you become a fighting man?
You must be hard as nails
And kill with sword and hand
You march on our command
You fight until the death
You fight 'til life runs out of you
And you draw your final breath
Heroes, heroes
We must hold them on the line
They must not advance
Fools, fools
So if you would be legends, boys
This is your chance
Stand your ground and fight
You know that our cause is right
We are the ones whose hope has gone
Hold and stand fast
Stand and do your best
Stand and face your test
Until you fall, you must obey the call
For we are the last
One day men will look back here
To see the bloody day
When we stood at the edge and fought
And no one ran away
The story will get bigger
As it's handed down the years
And so pass into legend
To tell what happened here
Heroes, heroes
You know we can't win here
But we must not run
Fools, fools
Now get yourselves ready
For the last attack comes
Stand your ground and fight
(Stand before the right)
You know that our cause is right
(We are standing here)
We are the ones whose hope has gone
(We will stand for our rights)
Hold and stand fast
Stand and do your best
(We will not back down)
Stand and face your test
(Keep until the end)
Until you fall, you must obey the call
I, I wish I could swim
Just like a dolphin, like dolphins can swim
And nothing, is gonna keep us together
And we can beat them, for ever and ever
Cos we can be Heroes, just for one day
I, I will be king
And you, you're gonna be my queen
Yeah but nothing, is gonna drive us away
Cos we can be Heroes, just for one day
And we're gonna be ourselves, just for one day
I, I can remember (I remember)
When I was standing, by the wall (by the wall)
And then the guns, they shot over our heads (over our heads)
And then we kissed, as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall)
Well then the shame, yeah, the shame was on their side
But we're gonna beat them, for ever and ever
Then we could be Heroes, just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
We're nothing, and nothing will help us
Maybe we're lying, then you better not stay
But we could be safer, just for one day
Oh-oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-oh-ohh, just for one day
Though nothing, will keep us together
We could steal time, just for one day
We can be Heroes, for ever and ever
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be heroes, just for one day
And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time
'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we're lovers, and that is that
Though nothing will keep us together
We could steal time just for one day
We can be heroes for ever and ever
What d'you say?
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim

Johnny let his baby brother sleep
Through the back door and baseball
All the kids are waiting outside
Old days come and go too soon
Old friends, heroes, lifetimes
Don't let a single memory fade away
These are the days for heroes
Look at all the soul shaking life
Everybody turns hero this time
Feels good to watch a big man dance
There's a wide smile (wild smell?) on the hot street
Supper's over and the streets come alive
The band plays our favorite songs
Policeman, buy some ice cream
Sounds different when you hear 'Mister Freeze'
Even the streets carry heroes
Look at every soul shake its life
These are the days of heroes, tonight!
Laughter come on downtown window and see faces walking back
Tonight, everybody gonna remember, remember in time...
Brings peace to watch a baby smile
And the years come
Bring us new ones
All that music waiting inside...
No, everybody turns hero
Look at all the soul shaking life
Everybody turns hero tonight!
Look at all the soul shaking life
Look at all the friend shaking life (?)
I, I will be king
And you, you will be king
And nothing will drive them away
We can beat them
Just for one day, we can be heroes
Just for one day
And you, you can be me
And I, I do all the time
'Cause we?re lovers and that is a fact
Yes, we are and that is that
Well nothing can keep us together
We can steal time
Just for one day, we could be heroes
Forever and ever, what do you say?
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins swim
And nothing, nothing can keep us together
We can beat them
Forever and ever oh, we can be heroes
Just for one day
I, I will be queen
And you, you will be king
Though nothing will drive 'em away
We can be heroes just for one day
We can be us, just for one day
I, I remember, standing, by the wall
The guns, shone above our heads
And we kissed I saw nothing to fault
And the shade was on the other side
Oh, we can beat them
Forever and ever, we can be heroes
Just for one day, we can be heroes
We are not children any more
The fists you made they are come bashing at your door
Your legacy is waiting in the wings
And there's something so familiar in the hunger that we bring
We don't want to be like you, don't want to live like you
Learn by our own mistakes, thank you
Forcing time and pushing through
Chorus:
You are not our heroes anymore
Dim the lights the time is come
Into the ring the father and the son
Sown in sweat and passion long ago
And now the blood on our hands is the same as our own
And the man has the skill and the man has the power
But the boy has the will to win and so much time
Chorus:
You are not our heroes anymore
If you knew then what you know now to be true
You never would have started this whole chain we're going through
And you love us now but you hate us still
And we hate you now but we love you still
Chorus:
You are not our heroes anymore
You are not my mother, you are not my father
You are not our heroes anymore
I live in the times
That you left behind
I sold 'em my mind for nickels and dimes
I must have been blind
I search for the cause
That has no reward
I've tried to move on
But everyone's gone on and I
Can't get it back
No, I can't get it back
I'm always reaching for the right track
Where has it gone why can't I get it back
Where have my heroes gone
I've no-one to hold on to
I'm out here standing on a landslide
I'm out here falling through a paper sky
Where have my heroes gone
I've nothing to hold onto
Lost in a daze
I'll never erase
When radio waves
Would take us away
On dreams that we've made
Like an old song
I just don't belong
But I try to be strong
So let the music roll on
We can't get it back
Yes, I can't get it back
I'm always listening for the right track
And when it's gone I wanna play it back
Where have my heroes gone
I've no-one left to hold on to
I'm out here standing on a landslide
I'm out here falling through a paper sky
Where have my heroes gone
I've no one left to hold on to, oh
(Don't let those heroes die
Their songs have changed our lives
They came they saw
They conquered all
Don't let them die
And say goodbye
Am I always searching for the right track
Where have they have gone
Why can't I get it back
Where have my heroes gone
I've no-one left to hold on to
I'm out here standing on a landslide
I'm out here falling through a paper sky
Where have my heroes gone
I've no one left to hold on to
They're gone
(Don't let those heroes die
Their songs have changed our lives
They came they saw
They conquered all
Don't let them die
We can win, we can lose
We can swallow the bad news
In the end we all know our life is just a show
Everybody plays a game and in our hearts
There's hidden our real face
Who is the man who says I'm never gonna cry
It's a lie, it's a lie
And who is the girl who says I'm never gonna sigh
It's a lie, it's a lie
On the road to nowhere in the falling rain
I've come to makin' my mind up to get to the point
And here I go again
Who is the man who says I'm never gonna cry
It's a lie, it's a lie
No, I'm not the man who says I'm never gonna die
But I'm alive, still alive, alive
We are not guilty, we never know the way it goes
Just like heroes, heroes, heroes
An all day routine
We can be deadly wounded but we can stand the pain
We might lose the battle but for our ideals
We stand right up and start to fight again
We all know our enemies but only God knows
Who will fall lean back and lick your wounds
Fight them all for you
You are not guilty you never know the way it goes
Just like heroes, heroes
Who is the man who says I'm never gonna cry
It's a lie, it's a lie
No, I'm not the man who says I'm never gonna die
But I'm alive, still alive
Heroes, heroes, heroes
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins
Like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, forever and ever
Oh, we can be heroes just for one day
I, I will be King
And you, you will be Queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be heroes just for one day
We can be us just for one day
I, I can remember
(I remember)
Standing by the wall
(By the wall)
And the guns, shot above our heads
(Over our heads)
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall
(Nothing could fall)
And the shame, was on the other side
Oh, we can beat them, forever and ever
Then we could be heroes just for one day
We can be heroes
We can be heroes
We can be heroes just for one day
Cuántas veces te han besado?
Cuántas veces te han matado?
Cuántas cosas has pensado
que hoy ocupan tu pasado?
Ves... lo que pasa no es tan importante.
Ves... somos héroes por breves instantes.
Hoy bendigo tus errores
mientras buscas soluciones,
manteniendo la balanza
entre el miedo y la esperanza.
Ves... lo que pasa no es tan importante.
Ves... somos héroes por breves...
somos héroes por breves instantes.
A veces un cariño te da lo importante.
A veces sólo quieres estar lejano... lejano.
Ves... lo que pasa no es tan importante.
Ves... somos héroes por breves instantes.
Ves... somos héroes por breves...
somos héroes por breves instantes.
Yeah, we¡¯re true blue heroes
Really true blue heroes
Now we gonna break down the walls
Cause we¡¯re true blue heroes
(Our) chances are not zero
Yeah, we¡¯re on the top, we didn¡¯t fall
It is a new world
Here we are and just begun
Don¡¯t shed a tear
We¡¯ll find the strength, our time has come
Oh, I¡¯ve been waiting for you
Oh, I¡¯ve been waiting for you
It is a new life
With the beating of young hearts
We¡¯ll make our dreams come true
Nobody is apart
I knew we¡¯d make it through
I knew we¡¯d make it through
Yeah, we¡¯re true blue heroes
Really true blue heroes
Now we gonna break down the walls
Cause we¡¯re true blue heroes
Chances are not zero
Yeah, we¡¯re on the top, we didn¡¯t fall
It¡¯s a new plan
We¡¯re going straight, we¡¯re going strong
Cause we¡¯re right here in the place
Where we belong
Oh, I¡¯ve been waiting for you
Yeah, I¡¯ve been waiting for you
It is a new life
With the beating of young hearts
We¡¯ll make our dreams come true
Nobody is apart
I knew we¡¯d make it through
I knew we¡¯d make it through
Yeah, we¡¯re true blue heroes
Really true blue heroes
Now we gonna break down the walls
Cause we¡¯re true blue heroes
(Our) chances are not zero
Yeah, we¡¯re on the top, we didn¡¯t fall
True blue heroes anywhere
True blue heroes anytime
Here comes the hero
At temperature zero
Warming his hands on the crowd
He says "now that I've changed
I'm exactly the same"
But nobody hears cos the cheering's too loud
Hypocrisy on a massive scale
Hero/cult/revolutionary
It's all a show
But now we know
All they want is your money
Hero lost his conscience, yes
But now he's getting serious
"Forget the system, let's have fun"
Hero! Take the money and run!
The heroes are forgotten now
Floundered on their reputation
The old elite
Came off the street
And wound up as an institution
The next generation won't produce
The heroes and the fashion freaks
There's nothing new
In what we do
Just commitment and beliefs
Not gonna miss you when you're dead and goneNot gonna talk about you over and over and overNot gonna file you under latest nostalgiaNor happily ever after
Not gonna listen to your played out songs(Played out songs)Don't wanna think about you over and over and overNot gonna read about the latest fads on your trendy blogI want nothing to do with that
'Cause you've made a mess of everything(And I'm not listening)
You're not a hero, you're a liarYou're not a savior, you're a vampireSucking the life out of all the friends you've ever known
You're just a train wreck, not a winnerUp on your soapbox, preaching down to the sinnersA saint without a causeWe're not listening, we're not listening
I'm gonna start a revolutionOf convoluted disillusion(Start a revolution)I'll lead a war with no conclusionAnd in the final hour I'll be a confident coward
'Cause if we stand for nothingWe'll fall for anything
You're not a hero, you're a liarYou're not a savior, you're a vampireSucking the life out of all the friends you've ever known
You're just a train wreck, not a winnerUp on your soapbox, preaching down to the sinnersA saint without a causeWe're not listening, we're not listening
Yeah, this is moving in the same directionBut I'm a little too spent to care'Cause it's a battlefield 'til it blows overKeep your friends close and your enemies closer
We throw stuff but we live in glass housesWe talk shit like it's a cross to bearYou're only wrong until you get olderKeep your friends close and your enemies closer, enemies closer
They're gonna miss me when I'm dead and goneThey're gonna talk about me over and over and overThey're gonna file me under latest nostalgiaAnd happily ever after
I'm not a hero, I'm a liarI'm not a savior, I'm a vampireSucking the life out of all the friends I've ever known
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together

An diesen Tag
Wir sind dann Helden an diesen Tag
Wenn das so weitergeht
wenn das so weitergeht
Por culpa de un error
De la imaginación
En mi televisor
No salgo más que yo
Ser un héroe
No es la forma de soñar
Aunque a veces
Ya no crea en nada más...
Soy el héroe
El villano y el actor
En mi programación
Sexodrogas y alcohol
Es el retrovisor
De mi generación
Simples héroes
Sin futuro ni misión
Viajeros
Que no encuentran su estación
Oculto está ya el sol
Ahora no hace calor
En mi imaginación
Ya no hay primer actor
Soy un héroe
Que ha podido despertar
Un viajero
Que ha encontrado su lugar
I will be King
And you
You will be Queen
Though nothing
Will drive them away
We can be heroes
Just for one day
We can be heroes
Just for one day
You can be mean
And I
I'll drink all the time
'Cause we're lovers
And that is a fact
Yes, we're lovers
And that is that
Though nothing
Will keep us together
We could steal time
Just for one day
We can be heroes
For ever and ever
What d'you say?
I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins
the dolphins can swim
Though nothing
Nothing will keep us together
We can beat them
Forever and ever
Oh, we can be heroes
Just for one day
I will be King
And you
You will be Queen
Though nothing
Will drive them away
We can be heroes
Just for one day
We can be us
Just for one day

And we kissed
As though nothing could fall
And the shame was on the other side
We can beat them
Forever and ever
We can be heroes
Just for one day
We can be heroes
Stare in wonder, who's here to bring you down?
Find your martyr, I'm sure you've made the crown
So light a fire under my bones, so when
I die for you, at least I'll die alone
Ain't nothing for me to end up like this
There's no comparing me this time
All my heroes have now become ghosts
Sold their sorrow to the ones who paid the most
All my heroes are dead and gone
But they're inside of me, they still live on
Dark devotion in a beacon paradise
Shows no emotion to a willing sacrifice
You can put a man on trial but you can't make the guilty pay
And you can cage an animal but you can't take away the rage
Ain't nothing for me to end up like this
There's no comparing me this time
All my heroes have now become ghosts
Sold their sorrow to the ones who paid the most
All my heroes are dead and gone
But they're inside of me, they still live on
All my heroes have now become ghosts
Sold their sorrow to the ones who paid the most
All my heroes are dead and gone
They're inside of me, they still live on
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, for ever and ever.
We can be Heroes, just for one day.

We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes

Nothing could keep us together
Oh we can be Heroes,
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
I, I can remember (I remember)
Standing, by the wall (by the wall)
And the guns shot above our heads (over our heads)
We could be Heroes,
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
We could be Heroes
We could be Heroes
Are we caught between good and bad
It's all just said and done
Longing for a better way
The feeling is so strong
Try to mend your broken ways
Why should we live within a haze
We're the heroes of a new world
The Masterplan's rising
Send freedom all over the glove
Willing now to pay the price
Just call it by the name
Unlock the gate to paradise
It's time to stop the game
Now can we fly with broken wings
Realize we're strong like kings
We're the heroes of a new world
The Masterplan's rising and dreams will come true
Sending freedom - like a warming rain
We show you the magic you've never seen arise-above you
We must cast aside our misery
Let's search for final liberty
We're the heroes of a new world
The Masterplan's rising and dreams will come true
Sending freedom - like a warming rain
The kids in the hundreds tomorrow
Will march through the door
They're fighting someone else's war
They'll have so many stories to tell
In exchange for a hero's farewell
I wish I could
I wish I could make you return
And what if i'll never discern
As you walk to the toll of the bell
You'll be fighting for our heaven with hell
And you don't understand
Why no one else can see
Your blood on me
And my blood on you
But to make you bleed
The only thing I wouldn't do
And you know heroes aren't meant to survive
So much harder to love when alive
Walk with the devil in your head
You would think you were better off dead
Where can you go?
We fight we earn
We never learn
And through it all
The hero falls
I wish there was a way
To give you a hand to hold
You don't have to die in your glory
You used to save your sister
You used to be the boy
You cannot say your cap gun
To you was just a toy
And I'm still hoping that you
Are not made of steel
Superman is all right
But I want someone who's real
Heroes, I don't know any
So stop trying to be one
And just be somebody
Someone who can be a fool
Someone who can love me
Not be silent and cool
Love is a mystery
But you can't solve it like a crime
Love is a puzzle
But you can't leave it to your mind
I'm getting tired of trying
To get your heart to speak
The love can't make you strong
Until the love can make you weak
Heroes, I don't know any
So stop trying to be one
And just be somebody
Someone who can be a fool
Someone who can love me
We are not children any more
The fists you made they are come bashing at your door
Your legacy is waiting in the wings and there's something
So familiar in the hunger that we bring
We don't want to be like you
Don't want to live like you

And you love us now but you hate us still
And we hate you now but we love you still
You are not our heroes anymore
You are not my mother, you are not my father
As the sun goes down in front of me
It reminds me where I wanna be, with you and you alone
Pull me in like you were made for me
I'm losing faith in gravity and I just need to let you know
And I just need to let you know
I'm not gonna come down, down off of these clouds
All these heroes come and go, you're still standing
You teach me to rise up, to open my eyes up
All these heroes come and go, you're still standing
You're still standing
When the world's confusing, I don't care
I'll crawl into your atmosphere
I know you'll make it right
You're all I need to know
I'm not gonna come down, down off of these clouds
All these heroes come and go, you're still standing
You teach me to rise up, to open my eyes up
All these heroes come and go, you're still standing
I believe that you can save me
And you'll never let me fall
I believe in what you've shown me
Maybe there's a hero in us all
I'm not gonna come down, down off of these clouds
All these heroes come and go
You teach me to rise up, to open my eyes up
All these heroes come and go, you're still standing
I'm not gonna come down
I'm not gonna come down, you're still standing
All these heroes come and go, you're still standing
Why are all our heroes so imperfect
Why do they always bring me down
Why are all our heroes so imperfect
The statue in the park has lost his crown
William Faulkner drunk and depressed
Dorothy Parker mean, drunk and depressed
And that guy in Seven Years in Tibet turned out to be a Nazi
The founding fathers all had slaves
The explorers slaughtered the braves
The old testament God can be so petty
Paul McCartney jealous of John, even more so now that he's gone
Dylan was so mean to Donovan in that movie
Pablo Picasso cruel to his wives
My favorite poets took their own lives
Orson Welles peaked at 25, ballooned before our eyes
And he sold bad wine
Heard Babe Ruth was full of malice
Lewis Carroll I'm sure did Alice
Plato in the cave with those very young boys
TS Elliott hated Jews, FDR didn't save the Jews
All the French joined the resistance after the war
Raymond Chandler drunk and depressed
Tennessee Williams drunk and depressed
I see from my window
Black ice, firestorm
A scream breaks the silence
They cry for their souls
But lights will turn down on the streets
And there's nothing you can do
Too young to die, too blind to see
This is all we need
Another hero, another hero
To give the new life to the world
Another hero, a new tomorrow
Leading us to a brave new world
I see people screaming
But can't hear their call
They give me their warning
I won't stay no more
But lights will turn down on the streets
And there's nothing you can do
Too young to die, too blind to see
This is all we need
Another hero, another hero
To give the new life to the world
Another hero, a new tomorrow
Leading us to a brave new world
But lights will turn down on the streets
And there's nothing you can do
Too young to die, too blind to see
This is all we need
Another hero, another hero
To give the new life to the world
Another hero, a new tomorrow
They say that when it comes to choosing heroes
It's best to pick the ones who aren't around
If you choose among the living
You tend to have misgivings
When your hero lets you down
He might have a bad night in your town
And so I will not name my heroes
And I'll keep my distance when I can
But if time should bend or break them
I hope I won't forsake them
If by chance they need a friend
Or need to walk on ordinary ground
God knows it must be tough to be a hero
To wake up in a hero's state of mind
They say it's hard to be heroic
Much easier to blow it
When somebody's watching all the time
And you're dancing on the thin edge of a dime
They say it's hard, so hard
They say it's hard, ain't it hard
If someday I'm mistaken for a hero
I only hope it's after I am gone
Some of us are heroes
Some of us are zeroes
Wannabes who never were the one
But who is who when all is said and done
Jenny's sittin on the stairs waiting after school
The father in the factory hard working so cruel
The mother in the appartment washes the dishes every day
Days go in days go out always the same
Feels like a wall breaking onto their necks
When the father's coming home
And he beats the mother in the face
And rapes her on the floor
A man destroyed of alcohol in a world going insane
Broken home broken dreams
The children share the pain
Why don't you answer
Why such a cancer
What happens
Our heroes become weak
Jonny's lieing in the killing field moribund people all around
And he can't remember what he's fighting for his soul's a bloody wound
Propaganda voices in his ear keep fighting for your motherland
What a mother what a land the weapon in his hand
And he keeps on killing all the people around
Because of what he doesn't know
And it doesn?t touch him anymore
When mothers cry at home
What a world of war what a world of sin
What a world of hate and lies
Hey teachers become preachers
And see the panic in their eyes
[Verse 1]
There was a strong man, who fought for his believes.
Died on the battlefield with honor, not with grief.
There was a rebel who fought the evil force.
He took the crown, became the leader of the north.
There was a young man, only 15 years of age.
But felt honor in his heart, became a leader not a slave.
There was a servant, who didn't want to serve.
Well, he was killed but his rebel call was heard.
[Bridge]
Warrior, you heard a call
Guiding you to the brave men's hall.
To the brave men's hall.
[Chorus]
Heroes have burdens to bear.
Heroes can't be found everywhere.
[Verse2]
There was a father, the evil asked what he could give.
He gave his own life, so his family could live.
There was a soldier, on the frontline he did kill.
Defends his people with proud heart and iron will.
There was a coward man, who flew from the attack.
He grew old a hundred years, but he died weak in his bed.
There was a hero, who fought with steel. All Hail!!!
Well, he died young but for thousand years they told his tale.
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
Born to be a Hero, I'll fight against their lies.
For my sisters, for my brothers I would give my life.
So if my clan is calling, my sword is on your side.
For glory and for freedom. For wisdom and for might.
[Chorus]
[Finale]
I'll always live adventure, returning to the fields.
I'm born to reign in glory, I'll always fight for steel.
BORN TO BE A HERO
I'd rather die in battle than run away and pray.
When my bones are dieing, my deeds will all prevail.
BORN TO BE A HERO
We are a sacred army, the troops of iron pride.
We're here to kill deceivers, deceivers we will fight.
BORN TO BE A HERO
When we die in battle, I know where we will go.
The gods up in Valhalla await their sacred sons
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins
Like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, forever and ever
Oh, we can be heroes just for one day
I, I will be King
And you, you will be Queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be heroes just for one day
We can be us just for one day
I, I can remember
(I remember)
Standing by the wall
(By the wall)
And the guns, shot above our heads
(Over our heads)
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall
(Nothing could fall)
And the shame, was on the other side
Oh, we can beat them, forever and ever
Then we could be heroes just for one day
We can be heroes
We can be heroes
We can be heroes just for one day
A world f?ll of darkness.
There's so much despair.
Our faith grows stronger.
See the bright sides of life.
Live life together.
'Cause nothing will break us.
Standing united.
Two of the same kind.
Fight temptation never lose the hope.
We are the heroes.
Standing tall, caring.
Friends 'til eternity.
Makes us strong, no lies.
No good to be a liar.
Nothing's stronger than love.
Friends make you stronger.
Trust makes You believe.
Sharing the same faith.
Surpressing the darkness.
Bloodlines forever.
Bonds with no ending.
Fight temptation never lose the hope.
We are the heroes.
Standing tall, caring.
Friends 'til eternity.
Makes us strong, no lies.
We are the heroes.
Standing tall, caring.
Friends 'til eternity.
Makes us strong, no lies.
We are the heroes.
Standing tall, caring.
Friends 'til eternity.
And so goodbye
Sweet words do ring
Another day
Our hopes will bring
To jaded hearts
And Sundays blue
When love arrives
It changes you
Sometimes it's tangible
That feeling in your soul
Your dreams
Aren't half a world away
To anyone
With half a heart
A shred of hope
A thread of love
Don't be afraid
To let it go
'cos when we love
This squeaky clean appearance
I've been working on
Is often in the way
Of the truth and life that I'm portraying
This narrow road I'm walking
Is rising up to meet me
Meet me right square in the face
I'm praying
Lord guide us to see
The key to our redemption
Is knowing our humanity
There are no heroes
There are no great ones here
We're only fools who know that we are fools
There are no saints here
There are no guiltless ones
We're only those who know that we've been rescued
The ancient art of making
You believe that I am
One time my father said to me
When you grow up, you be the best man you can be
When I look back on how fucked up my life has gone
He said, Well son that's the thing that will make you strong
[Bridge:]
I never said that I knew what was right or wrong
Because all my heroes are long gone
[Chorus:]
There's no heroes any more
One time, One cry
No heroes, No more
All of this time I had been wrong
I see a man there on TV
With lots of fame, lots of pride, lots of money
He probably hates his wife He probably beats his kids
He'll never have respect for all the things he did
[Repeat Bridge:]
[Repeat Chorus:]
I never said that I knew what was right or wrong
Because all my heroes are long gone
And no one ever told me just what I should be
All I ever had was me
He drives into the city
And works extra hard all day
He finishes up early
So he can get away
'Cause there's a blue-eyed kid on second base
Wants Dad to watch him play
And Daddy knows he's waiting
So he hurries on his way
CHORUS: Cause you know heroes come in every shape and size
Making special sacrifices for others in her lives
No one gives them medals
The world don't know their names
But in someone's eyes, they're heroes just the same
She rocks her crying baby
In the hours before dawn
She whispers words of hope to help her
husband to hold on
She takes time for the children
Making sure they know she cares
She's more then just a Momma
She's the answer to their prayers
Repeat Chorus
No I don't pretend to know you
But I bet it's save to say
There's someone out there somewhere looking
up to you today
And they see everything you do
Except for you mistakes
You may not think you measure up
but you got all it takes
No one gives them medals
The world don't know their names
But in someone's eyes
They're heroes just the same
Yea , in someone's eyes
They're heroes just the same
Talking bout heroes....
Special kind of heroes.....
"The children all cried as the hero did die
And the credits they rolled on to black
There's comfort they know, they'll soon be at home
With the hero in wait behind the curtains
Heroes don't die that's the truth
Next show we'll know what to do
Stand our ground if we make it that long
And wait for the hero to ride
A blonde-headed boy with a coon-skin for a crown
He marches his troops into town
Six-shooter hand, black powder caps
He just saved the city from the Indians
Heroes don't die that's the truth
Next show we'll know what to do
Circle the wagons and hope he breaks through
And wait for the hero to ride
But the boy was betrayed on a slow fire day
When his rifle it ran out of caps
The tracers and mortars sang a mournful song
With his hero nowhere to be found
Try to explain to the mama who's cryin
That her baby boy was only tryin
To hold out a moment for some myth on a stallion
Lookin' back through time we are in debt to the leaders
Angels of mercy everyone
Good folks who believe there was no good and evil
Fought long and hard until the battles are were won
Heroes make the sun rise in the mornin'
Heroes make the moon shine bright at night
Heroes make our lives a little stronger
In the soul of everyone he can be found
Give us an anchor or a rock to lean on
A captain to take us through the storm
What makes a soldier ride alone into battle
Can anybody tell me where he's coming from
He's that stranger on the street, he's that child who's at your feet
Searching for freedom and justice
You've seen him time and again, you know they only fight to win
They're the challengers of evil and I'm glad we know them
Heroes make the sun rise in the mornin'
Heroes make the moon shine bright at night
Heroes make our lives a little stronger
All our fears go away when, when he's around
When he's around
Yeah
Heroes make the sun rise in the mornin'
Heroes make the moon shine bright at night
Heroes make our lives a little stronger
If you look you'll surely see, there's you and me
Heroes
I played on people
Played on people
Every heroes, heroes
I REMEMBER THE DAYS THAT WE MET,
IT'S A LONG TIME,I'LL NEVER FORGET.
I WAS YOUNGER AND I NEVER KNEW
WHY YOU CHOSE ME TO BE KILLED.
IN THE SKY,THE EAGLES START TO FLY,
ONCE AGAIN,CROSSING THE EDGE OF TIME.
FALLING DOWN INTO THE NIGHT,
WHERE THE ANGELS DIE.
SPREAD YOUR WINGS,FOLLOW THE LINE,
TRY TO FIND A WAY.
HEROES FLY,BREAKING THE ICE,
TOUCH THE RAINBOW'S LIGHT,
HEROES FLY,HIGHER AND HIGH,
TAKE ME FAR AWAY.
I REMEMBER THE STORIES WE LIVED,
TRYING TO CONQUER AND SHARING A DREAM.
IN THE END OF OUR JOURNEY WE KNEW
WE COULD NEVER FIND A NEW WORLD.
WILL I EVER KNOW THE REASON
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR ?
TIME HAS COME TO LEAVE THE DARKNESS
LIVE ANOTHER DAY.
[music and lyrics: Boeru]
Heroes of the darkened past,
Listen the tales of the wind
'Cause he has seen the history dying.
Times of glory and of swords,
Times of honor,
Living idols, blood and steel,
All these are gone.
Heroic times, just heroic times,
Lost through the ages.
Riding wild horses on the fields,
Tongues if flames
Kissing swords and shields
And burn the days of the ones who die.
Why is so heroic
To die for an aim?
Maybe because we have no faith.
Why it seems heroic
To worship a bone idol?
Maybe because our god died.
Where are the heroes that courage revealed
The battle-bright warriors who strode to the field
Of the war, their swords a light in the frey
The heroes are gone, they have all passed away
Where are the earls who led in the van
The chieftains and kings who held sway in the land
Of our fathers, revered in story and song
They have all passed away, now our heroes are gone
Where are the unsung who silently strove
The women and children and all the unknown
Who were models upon which to pattern our deeds
Those heroes are gonem from this life they are freed
And now in this time of the dark of the sun
Remember what's ended is only begun
As sun sets each evening, she rises at morn
To the halls of the gods are the heroes reborn
And we, who with valor must conquer each day
We to are heroes as gallant as they
With truth as our banner and courage our lights
We will come to those halls when we tread the long night
So lift up a toast with the ale-filled horn
To those who have faced well their wyrd and are gone
Live well your life and tradiotions all keep
The ones who were lost
Have become all our heroes
For those who are left
Left here behind
Believing they'd return
The morning that they woke
Not knowing that it would be
The last time they had spoke
To the ones who left behind
The many tears we cried with them in mind
To the ones who left behind
So many tears were cried from all mankind
They cannot try and tell
Was the name of religion?
That drove them to do
What they have done
No one heard God's voice
Interpretations blind
Promised everlasting joy
Because of life sublime
To the ones who left behind
Many people stand with you today
To the ones who left behind
United we will stand and make them pay
The cowards could not face us eye to eye
A slow and painful death that they should die
Did it sooth their emptiness
And rid them of their pain
Will they try to take more lives?
All in their god's name
To the ones who left behind
Many people stand with you today
To the ones who left behind
United we will stand and make them pay
To the ones who left behind
Many people stand with you today
To the ones who left behind
United we will stand and make them pay
[Spoken:]
On September 11th, 2001, 3, 047 people died during the terrorist attacks on New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania.
Some died burning on the launch pad.
Some exploding in the sky.
Some careening through the atmosphere.
That's the many ways they died.
Then the hatch, it had a failure.
Sucking out all of their air.
So they put it into a ballistic spin, but the chute did
not deploy.
It's everyday with wasted lives.
Whoa-
But lives well spent are far and wide.
Whoa-
Grissom's quote is very touching. Dogs and chimps all
pitching in. To expand us through the cosmos. Worth a
million times more than we spent. It's everyday with
wasted lives.
Whoa-
But lives well spent are far and wide.
Whoa-
Would it be wise if we did not explore the stars, their
deaths would be in vain. They gave their lives for all
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them just for one day
We can be heroes just for one day
And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time
Because we're lovers and that is a fact
Yes,we're lovers and that is that
Though nothing will keep us togheter
We could steal time just for one day
We can be heroes forever an ever
What did you say?
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins
Like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, forever and ever
We can be heroes just for one day
I, I can remember
(I remember)
Standing by the wall
(By the wall)
And the guns, shot above our heads
(Over our heads)
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall
(Nothing could fall)
And the shame, was on the other side
Oh, we can beat them, forever and ever
Then we could be heroes just for one day
We can be heroes just for one day
We can be heroes just for one day
One time my father said to me
When you grow up, you be the best man you can be
When I look back on how fucked up my life has gone
He said, Well son that's the thing that will make you strong
(Bridge:)
I never said that I knew what was right or wrong

(Chorus:)
There's no heroes any more

No heroes, No more
All of this time I had been wrong

He probably hates his wife He probably beats his kids
He'll never have respect for all the things he did
(Repeat Bridge:)
(Repeat Chorus:)
I never said that I knew what was right or wrong
Because all my heroes are long gone
And no one ever told me just what I should be
A man has his own way
Each moment in time
The innocence of a child
In his eyes
Moments they were precious few
My memories of you
Answers are hard
To questions of the heart
Can't hold you, please hear me
I'll tell you that I love you
Can you see me? Are you listening
In heaven above?
A champion, a hero
A star in the sky
Hurray for the hero
The hero in all our hearts, oh
A castle, a strange emptiness
An unbroken bond
With strength and forgiveness
For memories of the heart
The world revolving each day
A king and his queen
A place for a hero
In everlasting love
Can't hold you, please hear me
I'll tell you that I love you
Can you see me? Are you listening
In heaven above?
A champion, a hero
A star in the sky
Hurray for the hero
The hero in all our hearts
A champion, a hero
A star in the sky
Hurray for the hero
The hero in all our hearts, oh
The world of so long ago
Was so different then
But keep it together
We'll make it, he's made it to heaven
A champion, a hero
A star in the sky
Hurray for the hero
The hero in all our hearts
A champion, a hero
A star in the sky
Hurray for the hero
The hero in all our hearts
A champion, a hero
A star in the sky
Hurray for the hero
The hero in all our hearts
A champion, a hero
Heroes,larger than life
Up on the screen every night
On the late night show, ooh what a great show
Heroes,under the gun
Fighting for justice for everyone
And we follow wherever they go
Heroes,standing up tall
Taking their chances, risking it all
So you know they'll always be heroes
Heroes, so good to know
So hard to find, sad when they go
Like shadows on the high road
Heroes, ever on track
Never give up,never look back
Never lay low,never grow old
Heroes, right from the start
Faithful in love, straight from the heart
So you know they'll always be heroes
(And in my heart I'm sayin')
Ride on,safe from all danger
Where have you been for so long?
I've been waiting for another star
To rise in my night again
And give us a reason we all must carry on
Where have the heroes gone?
Heroes,facing the fight
Calling for courage, trying to do right
When the dust blows and the light goes
Heroes, tried and true
One for the other, ready to do it tomorrow
Like it was the last show
Heroes, put to the test
Keeping a promise, doing their best
So you know they'll always be heroes
(And in my heart I'm sayin')
Ride on,safe from all danger
Where have you been for so long?
I've been waiting for another star
To rise in my night again
And give us a reason we all must carry on
Ride on,safe from all danger
Where have you been for so long?
I've been waiting for another star
To rise in my night again
And give us a reason we all must carry on
Ride on,safe from all danger
Where have you been for so long?
I've been waiting for another star
To rise in my night again
Don’t you know my name
You’re trying not to listen
Pretending like there's nothing going on
Things were not the same
We’re heroes of the day
We covered up these wounds with fairy tales
I won’t let you fallin’ broke and shattered to the ground
You put your faith in me, there’s so much more faith in me
We can’t escape the consequences of being alone
For all the time that passed, I wish you were here to stay
“This song is dedicated for the heroes all around the globe
We sing for you and we’re shout for them
Momma combs his hair and daddy helps him brush his teeth
Day after day for thirty years the same routine
The special needs he lives with makes life seem so unfair
But he thanks God every day 'cause he knows mom and dad are there
And he's a hero and she's a hero
It doesn't matter that nobody knows their name
They keep on givin' to make life worth livin'
Might go unnoticed but they're heroes just the same
They tried for many years to have a baby of their own
But God knew a little girl who didn't have a home
Someone else's burden was their blessing in disguise
And now she's got a mom and daddy there to hold her when she cries
And he's a hero and she's a hero
It doesn't matter that nobody knows their name
They keep on givin' to make life worth livin'
Might go unnoticed but they're heroes just the same
Every single parent who must carry twice the load
And those who sacrifice to raise a child that's not their own
They dedicate their time to make a difference in someone else's life
And in my eyes
He's a hero and she's a hero
It doesn't matter that nobody knows their name
They keep on givin' to make life worth livin'
Might go unnoticed but they're heroes just the same
Desire, the fire, it's all in you
The passion, and action, you take me through
I'm living it, I'm loving it
This is where the dreams come alive
A shooting star in the night
Para siempre
Viva los heroes
To all the heroes, the rush of emotions
In this high and low, ah-ay-ah let's go
To all the heroes, we celebrate our nations
Let the whole world know, ah-ay-ah let's go
To all the heroes.
Emotions, are rushing out of control
A Notion, touching my body and soul
Can't fight it, can't hide it
Everything I'm feeling inside
Reflects the gold in your eyes
To all the heroes...
Viva los heroes, the rush of emotions
In this high and low, ah-ay-ah let's go
Viva los heroes, we celebrate our nations
Let the whole world know, ah-ay-ah let's go
Viva los heroes
Para siempre
Viva los heroes
To all the heroes, the rush of emotions
In this high and low, ah-ay-ah let's go
To all the heroes, we celebrate our nations
Let the whole world know, ah-ay-ah let's go
To all the heroes
Zeroes take the lift
Use heavy duty motors to vertically shift
Whereas heroes, heroes take the stairs!
Zeroes like to waste
They buy things, break things, chuck them in haste
Whereas heroes, heroes make repairs!
It ain’t easy... being a hero
No, it ain’t easy... being a hero
In my hands I hold the future, but my heart is a
powerzone
I can save the world, but I can’t do it on my own
Zeroes motor on
Guzzle gas with no intent to change it anon
Whereas heroes, heroes walk the walk!
Zeroes take the plane
Wave their shlongs about and fly back again
Whereas heroes, heroes call and talk!
Open my eyes
When I see you standing by my side
With hope and kisses in my heart
Chorus
I opened my eyes seeing you sitting on my lap
Oh, baby.....Oh, baby
what are we doing tonight
Oh, baby.....Oh, baby
In my eyes what I can see
With flames in the darkness, with you by my side
My, love inside...
With hope and kisses in my heart

Dreams for lovers (x4)
Dreams for lovers
Visualise what it is that they do
You'll discover
All those dreams that you had have
Come true
Try to realise
When you close your eyes
Those dreams are for lovers
Not all the others
Lovers...
Oh, they're acting their part
They're hiding their hearts
Lovers...
Have their dreams
So it seems
When your lover
Holds a smile for a while just for you
You'll discover
All those dreams that you had have
Come true
Look into their eyes
And try to visualise
Those dreams of young lovers
Not all the others
Lovers...
Oh, they're acting their part
They're hiding their hearts
Lovers...
Have the time
For their lives
Lovers...
Oh, they're exactly the same
They walk in the rain
Lovers...
Have their dreams
So it seems, so it seems
Dreams for lovers
(dreams for lovers) (x4)
Lovers...
Oh, they're exactly the same
They walk in the rain
Lovers...
Have their dreams
So it seems
Lovers...
Oh, they're acting their part
They're hiding their hearts
Lovers...
Have their dreams
So it seems
Dreams for lovers
(darren costin)
So you think all the people are changing
It doesn't really matter to me
You think all of my friends are boring
You're blind to all the things I see
'cause you close yourself away
And we dream of our yesterdays
A big part of my life has gone
It can't go on and on
To feel this way is wrong
This feeling is so strong
So you think I'm in need of restraining
I have to say I disagree
So you think I enjoy your complaining
I can feel it creeping up behind me
All my feelings in the air
Some of them so hard to share
A big part of my life is gone
It can't go on and on
To feel this way is wrong
'cause I feel so enclosed
Oh ho, I'm sick and tired of waiting by
The telephone lines
You know I'd love to know your
Answer now
Oh ho, my heart is full of tears now that
My life's in line
You know... time to
Driftaway
So I guess I'm away from your feelings
I know you won't disagree
Oh so sad that our life has no meaning
If that's the way that things have to be
As I stay with you day by day
I drift further and further away
A big part of my life has gone
It can't go on and on
To feel this way is wrong
'cause I feel so enclosed
Oh ho, I'm sick and tired of waiting by
The telephone lines
You know, I'd love to know your
Answer now
Oh ho, my heart is full of tears now that
My life's in line
You know... time to
Driftaway
Oh ho, I'm sick and tired of waiting by
The telephone lines
You know, got to know your
Answer now
Oh ho, my heart is full of tears now that
My life's in line
You know... time to
(michael casswell)
You smile for the camera
You look like an angel from above
Way above
They all need to meet you
I think what they feel must be love
Is it love?
Time to consider, time to reflect
Turning to face you when you least
Expect
Face to face
Talking to you, talking out of place
Face to face
With each other
How we talk in haste
Words go in circles
Blood rushes faster through our veins
Through our veins
When you're losing control
You hope I will act just the same
Just the same
There's no intention of recompense
Words you were saying just weren't
Making sense
Face to face
Talking to you, talking out of place
Face to face
We are helpless
Locked in love's embrace
Your eyes are receptive
Your heart holds a secret close to mine
Close to mine
I guess what you're saying
Is we have our good and bad times
Our bad times
Words turn to tears when you break
Down and cry
We can amend it if only we try
Face to face
Talking to you (to you), talking out
Of place
Face to face
With each other
Locked in love's embrace
Face to face
With each other
Locked in love's embrace
We coulda done better if the time
Was right (x3)
We coulda done better
(darren costin/nick feldman)
Here we are
So tired of all the games we've played
I guess I'm really trying to say
To say hello and not goodbye
Here we are
All together
I'm sorry for the things said and done
I wanna stay close to you
Here we are
Hope forever girl
My life has took a change for the best
I need to stay close to you
Here we are
Can make our lives and all our
Dreams come true
But only if you want them to
So say hello and not goodbye
Here we are
Tied together
I know it's been so hard on you girl
So I intend to comfort you
Love we have
For each other
The love we have is all from the heart
And it's tearing me apart
Not to be a part of you
Here we are
Can make our lives and all our
Dreams come true
But only if you want them to
So say hello
Say hello
And not goodbye
Say hello
Say hello
Here we are
So tired of all the games we play
You know it's time to lose pretence
Because our lives just don't make sense
We need each other constantly
Here we are
Can make our lives and all our dreams
Come true
But only if you want them to
So say hello
Say hello
And not goodbye
Say hello
Just say hello
Say hello
And please don't cry
Say hello
Hello
Oh babe don't cry
Here we are
So tired of all the games we play
I guess I'm really trying to say
(darren costin/nick feldman)
I know you hold a secret
And I'm not sure you'll keep it
So why don't we just sit here alone
I'd like to ask you something
I'd know if you were lying
Please tell me if you don't like my tone
Do you need anybody
Could I be that somebody
I could help you if you'll agree
Let me in
To your loneliness
To your sweet caress
I want it all... night long
Let me in
To your loneliness
To your sweet caress
I want it all... night long
I know you like your distance
But I need some assistance
It's oh so very hard to get near
You say I'm so intrusive
I find you so illusive
I'm asking you if I'm what you fear
Do you need anybody
Could I be that somebody
I could help you if you'll agree
Let me in
To your loneliness
To your sweet caress
I want it all... night long
Let me in
To your loneliness
To your sweet caress
I want it all, want it all... oh
All of my friends have told me
Something
I hope it's true
They said I'm not what you were
Expecting
I must have you
Let me in
To your loneliness
To your sweet caress
I want it all... night long
Let me in
To your loneliness
To your sweet caress
I want it all, want it all
Let me in
To your loneliness
To your sweet caress
To your loneliness
(girl)
To your sweet caress
(repeat)
(darren costin/nick feldman)
Our favorite song was on the radio
I thought I'd call you just to say hello,
Hello
It didn't really matter
You weren't there
The thoughts I'd had for such a fine
Romance
In all my dreams I always get the chance
I wish it were forever
Do you care
Friends keep saying that I'm wasting
Time
I'm not the type that listens
This heart of mine gives me my vision
My heart beats
To the beat of love
My heart beats
Baby you know it should
My heart beats
To the beat of love for you, for you
My heart beats
To the beat of love
My heart beats
And baby you know it should
My heart beats
To the beat of love for you
All of my thoughts I try to sublimate
It's only you that makes me hesitate
It didn't really matter
At the start
I get so cold inside when I'm alone
But then I see you in the world of my
Own, alone
I wish it were forever
From my heart
Friends keep saying that I'm wasting
Time
I'm not the type that listens
This heart of mine gives me my vision
My heart beats
To the beat of love
My heart beats
Baby you know it should
My heart beats
To the beat of love for you, for you
My heart beats
To the beat of love
My heart beats
And baby you know it should
My heart beats
To the beat of love for you, for you
My heart beats
To the
Beat of love
My heart beats
To the
Beat of love
Beat of love
(solo)
Beat of love
Beat of love
Beat of love
(repeat chorus)
My heart beats loud
My heart beats loud
My heart beats loud
(darren costin)
I wanna go back to the riverside
To the place I was born
I wanna go back to the riverside
To the place I call home
You took me to the city
When I was very young
No friends and no photographs
A new life we'd just begun
And now I'm old enough to tell you
How I feel
This city life is not for me
I wanna go back to the riverside
To the place I was born
I wanna go back to the riverside
To the place I call home
You waited at home I know
For a man I knew well
Your face was so full of tears
You were quiet as well
But you'd made up your mind
That you'd had enough
And you said you had no time
So I guess things were tough enough
You took me to the city
When I was very young
No friends and no photographs
A new life we'd just begun
And now I'm old enough to tell you
How I feel
This city life is not for me
And now I'm old... old enough (x4)
Old enough to leave you
Don't want no more cities
I just wanna go home
So take me to the riverside
To the place I call home
Don't want no more cities
I just wanna go home
So take me to the riverside (x3)
To the place I call home (call home)
I wanna go back to the riverside (x2)
Don't want no more cities
(Darren Costin/Nick Feldman)
That is love
That is love
Looking through a magazine
I find a picture of you, girl
A photograph I'd never seen
I see my fears have come true, girl
Looking at a face I knew so well
Hiding your emotions all too well
It's not surprising the things you've
been through
I know you were so lonely for a time
But now I hear that all your life's in line
This feeling's got to be true for you
Girl
That is love
That is love you're feeling now
That is love
That is love
That is love you're feeling now
That is love
Holding on to all your dreams
Must have been hard on you
It could've gone the way you dreamed
If only I knew what to do
And now I hear you've finally found
someone
There isn't any reason, girl, to run
It's not so easy, I know, to relax
Now that I've grown I sympathise
Understand and realise
My intentions are from the heart
Girl
That is love
That is love you're feeling now
That is love
That is love... girl
That is love you're feeling now
That is love
The time was right to say goodbye
I'm not sure you understood
Your love for me was clear to see
You did everything you could
I felt ashamed, I was to blame
For all that I did wrong
Now your heart has a place and I'm
Sure it's in haste to re-start
That is love
That is love you're feeling now
That is love
That is love
That is love you're feeling now
That is love
That is love... girl
That is love you're feeling... now
Is, is, is this love
(darren costin/nick feldman)
Time goes by
I know there's things to be done
Time goes by
I know there's things to be done
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
You need a lift, they pull you down
The system's got it wrong
I'm a working man and I'm proud of it
So let's get something on
We blow things up and knock
Things down
And make some people sad
It's quite a world in which we live
When good things turn to bad
Time goes by
I know there's things to be done
Time goes by
I know there's things to be done
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
Living on a time bomb...
No time to pause, let's break the rules
Let's break out while we can
Achieving all one's destiny is beyond
Our mega hands
What to do when you're pushed around
Led neatly by the hand
Your life's made up
You're a working man
So make a final stand
Time goes by
I know there's things to be done
Times go by
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
Living on a time bomb
You know we're living
Living on a time bomb...
(darren costin)
You hold my hand when I feel down
Your face is pure, you never frown
You dance your blues away
And if you're sad you never say
I dream of you, it's not so fine
Your face is solemn all the time
I love your honesty
Because I dance with you in my mind
Dance your blues away
Romance your blues
You gotta take a chance, to get away
Dance your blues away
I know inside you're so sincere
Although your heart may shed a tear
You dance your blues away
And when you dance there is no fear
You never lie awake it seems
Your body sleeps, your spirit screams
I know your love is deep
Because I dance with you in my dreams
Dance your blues away
Romance your blues
You gotta take a chance, to get away
Dance your blues away
Dance your blues away
Romance your blues
You gotta take a chance, to get away
Dance your blues away
Dance...
Dance...
Dance...
Dance... the blues
Your blues, away (x3)
(dance your blues away)
Your blues away (x2)
Oh... those blues away
Your blues, away
(dance your blues away)
Momma combs his hair and Daddy helps him brush his teeth
Day after day for thirty years the same routine
The special needs he lives with make life seem so unfair
But he thanks God every day cause he knows Mom and Dad are there
(chorus) He's a hero and she's a hero
It doesn't matter that nobody knows their name
They keep on giving to make life worth living
Might go unnoticed but they're heroes just the same
They tried for many years to have a baby of their own
But God knew a little girl who didn't have a home
Someone else's burden was their blessing in disguise
And now she's got a Mom and Daddy there to hold her when she cries
(chorus)
Every single parent who must carry twice the load
And those who sacrifice to raise a child that's not their own
They dedicate their time to make a difference in someone else's life
And in my eyes
(chorus)
They might go unnoticed but they're heroes just the same.
(D. Thompson/T. Thompson)
Nada puedo ver
La sangre derramada, limpia todo mi ser
Con júbilo escucho, Cristo resucitó
La cruz está vacía, hoy puedo comprender
Héroes, héroes, ¿Tus héroes dónde están?
En el Seol o en la oscuridad
Fifteen long years on a losing streak
And a lot of bodies unburied
And there comes a time
When you cannot turn the other cheek
You have got to ride the ferry
Past the battered old bodies of dead, dead dreamers
Past the tethered and fettered
And desk bound schemers
The punks and the drunks and the bad guitar players
And the dewy eyed teenage dragon slayers
You come to this place where you can say
I just want to work with you
As we do the things that we know we have to do
Ever hopeful and ever blue
We do the things that we know we have to do
And though we all know deep down in our hearts
That someday this will all fall apart
For right now let's just be heroes
The telegraph man took a break today
He pulled out all the wires
He looked out the window at the rainy, rainy day
And he wondered about the future of fire
As he leaned back in his chair
With a long cold fishy eyed stare
He looked like December until he remembered
The day he'd said I just want to work with you
As we do the tings that we know we have to do
Ever hopeful and ever blue
We do the things the things that we know we have to do
Yeah, we both know deep down in our hearts
Someday this will all fall apart
Here comes the hero
At temperature zero
Warming his hands on the crowd
He says "now that I've changed
I'm exactly the same"
But nobody hears cos the cheering's too loud
Hypocrisy on a massive scale
Hero/cult/revolutionary
It's all a show
But now we know
All they want is your money
Hero lost his conscience, yes
But now he's getting serious
"Forget the system, let's have fun"
Hero! Take the money and run!
The heroes are forgotten now
Floundered on their reputation
The old elite
Came off the street
And wound up as an institution
The next generation won't produce
The heroes and the fashion freaks
There's nothing new
In what we do
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be Heroes, just for one day
And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time'
Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we're lovers, and that is that
Though nothing, will keep us together
We could steal time, just for one day
We can be Heroes, for ever and ever
What d'you say?
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, for ever and ever
Oh we can be Heroes, just for one day
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day
I, I can remember (I remember)
Standing, by
the wall (by the wall)And the guns, shot above our
heads
(over our heads)And we kissed, as though nothing could
fall (nothing could fall)And the shame, was on the
other
sideOh we can beat them, for ever and everThen we
could be Heroes, just for one dayWe can be HeroesWe
can be HeroesWe can be HeroesJust for one dayWe can be
HeroesWe're nothing, and nothing will
help usMaybe we're lying, then you better not stayBut
we could be safer, just for one dayOh-oh-oh-ohh,

No closer to the one you thought you could be
No further from where you set out
You may not understand this now
It's just a price to pay, never to feel this way again
Heroes rise and fall
You've got to die to live
The bottom drops, feels like you're alone
Nothing to hold on to
Or catch you if you fall
In this place, voices, louder then before
In your heart unlock the door, you need to be free to feel
Heroes rise and fall, you've got to die to live
Die to live again
How long must you wait, for your hero to show
Before your free, will you carry on. Before the sun heroes fall
Where have all the heroes gone?
When the world is bruised and broken
Kryptonite's overtaken, follow me to Abbadon
The city of tragedy
Where can we find peace.
Save me take me from the place I know
Save me take me to the place I long
You watch me from your window
Watch me so desperate for you.
These nights get longer everyday in the city of tragedy
Save me take me from the place i know
Save me take me to the place one I love
We sleep with one eye open
As a peace of mind
We sleep with one eye open
As a peace of mind
We sleep with one eye open as a peace of mind
Yeah, yeah
Save me take me from the place i long to
Save me take me to the place I long for
Save me take me from the place I know
Know, know
heroes
heroes: tonight i am perfect there's nothing to stop me i'll take what i want thick in the air i can taste it warm wind on my face and victory filling my lungs quietly fighting impatience precision picking my phrases and counting my words well i am destined for greatness would my heart explode if they take this away from me? take me away from the silence it's killing my dreams it hit me like a hurricane we're gonna be heroes you've got to believe you've got to believe we're all going to make it we're all so tired of waiting for a reason to live so here's a brand new hope a blade to cut the rope now you can find the air that you so desperately need this is a cry to the lonely this is a fire escape now you can finally flee and if you find yourself fading spinning out of control won't you take this away from me? take me away from the silence it's killing my dreams it hit me like a hurricane we're gonna be heroes you've got to believe you've got to believe you've got to believe take me away from the silence it's killing my dreams it hit me like a hurricane we've gotta be heroes you've got to believe you've got to believe you've got to believe in me you've got to believe you've got to believe in me believe in...
Some do, some don't, some stand around
Some still believe the things I won't
Some walk, some talk, some can't shut up
Some still enjoy the things I don't
So you want to tear down
Then come back and turn around heroes
Here we go with our halos bent and cracked heroes
Here we go and we're never coming back
Some should, some could, some can't complain
Some realize we're all the same
So you want to tear down
Then come back and turn around heroes
Here we go with our halos bent and cracked heroes
First day
high school
being cool was a golden rule
didn't matter what anyone else would say
New shirts that our mommas' bought
we were thinking we were mighty hot
my chest sighed
we were feelin like cash was free
undesputed champions of the hallway
And we were all heroes
legends in our own minds
chasing down dreams on friday nights
cruisin' down the back roads
singin' to the radio
we were all heroes
you might say
stole the keys to my daddy's truck
that tough old man
I was pushing my luck
the things you do to impress the boys
with six cold old beer
and three good friends
a George Strait tape that never ends
the starry nights and country girls
no better time in this whole world
We were all heroes
legends in our own minds
chasing down dreams on friday nights
cruisin' down the back roads
singin' to the radio
we were all heroes
you might say
And I still think about those days
but we grew up and things changed
We were all heroes
legends in our own minds
chasing down dreams on friday nights
cruisin' down the back roads
singin' to the radio
we were all heroes
you might say
You might say
I'm standing on the sword of the Dragon
He can't pull it from beneath my feet
Down in the darkened cavern
In the field of blood I'll watch him bleed
Watching the smoke rise from the wounded hero
Standing dazed in the acid rain
A bitter taste in the air
I hear the danger of the tightening chains
Heroes, heroes, heroes are not here to stay
They will all fade away
Except the one who raised
I crawled through the ruins of old
Beneath its rubble lies a city of gold
His hands are chapped and bleeding cold
Returning all the riches that had been stolen
The people stand in the street and stare
The hangman releases his chilling cry
The heavens split to see the earth
VERSE 1 (Swamburger)
I approach life with open arms, lessons learned, toting
palms that tell the future close enough to keep me out
of harms bluff but can’t seem to save a single thing.
Who’s afraid of evil’s theme, constituents of time, and
people’s dreams? Far from the norm we appear quite
average… no mask, no costume, no pre-exposed lavish. I
manage to cure cats with courtesy… constant. Some
oppose, uphold… backpedal my content. Imagine having
power over misused authority to free the captivated but
the captured ignores the intent imprint indented on
forehead. Victims run from help and want more of what’s
force-fed. My kryptonite is that which governs bodies
in the present like a president where tyranny is
evident and evidence for all to see, but even with a
palm to read, people trust superficial scrutiny wit
more than all of we. You trust police more than we
could ever be which says a lot for life and the
obedience in policy, but not a single thread of your
emotion is available when you’re offered gifts of
potential and creative view. So, in the end my super
powers tend to weaken while inner demons summon humans
to be them while thinking of another convenience.
Apparently I’m just preaching. Ok… murder, murder,
kill, kill! Now we’re even.
HOOK:
(Heroes.) For the love of the people, equal standing on
ground zero with you but I wanna better by-product.
What are my options… honest? I want (Heroes!) But
enough ain’t enough when you want a way to live without
wanting to give that hundred percent back cause that
could be the death of another hero-hero-hero. (Heroes.)
What about em? (You’re my only hope to save the day.)
VERSE 2 (Alexandrah)
It’s a trick you stick to me,
Take my heart, wear it on your sleeve.
And toss it aside for cleaning,
Cause you soiled and spoiled the meaning.
Minus thinking twice of my gift to being
Without ever lifting a finger,
Without ever losing a dream.
I found that self-held hostages
Are stocked with ways
In popular demand for ridding of malaise.
By bidding only in the brain,
Being at ease with ideas and speech.
You wanted my advice,
Suffice to say,
Took knowing trophy held my wise at bay.
Without ever guessing for seconds
And without ever taking a day.
They refuse a move into it,
Just a step into it, simple I’ve been through its
Equal and intuit.
Acquainted friends they
Reach and breach my ingredient of feeling,
With seething greediest intent on killing
Questions of character coming up quick.
Sue me or sew me on armor, your wish.
Without credit sent on my way,
With only ghost of point you missed.
Son you make me feel so proud
I pop the buttons of my shirt
I know I said I'd take you to the lake today
But I'm going to have to break those plans and it really hurts.
Every time I go fishin' it'd always start me wishin'
That I could be a child again
Take my 50 cents and go down to the local picture show
To watch my heroes rope and ride.
Most times they'd win but when they'd lose
It always made me cry
Ain't nothing quite as sad
As watching your heroes die
One by one as they fall
Soon there'll be no heroes at all.
Well, I guess the fish just ain't bitin'
Just as well it don't feel like fightin'
All in all it just ain't that great a fishin' day
That old newspaper headline
Kind of wrapped around this old heart of mine
Another big one got away.
And I can't count the times he's made me laugh
But this time he's made me cry
There ain't nothing quite as sad
As watching your heroes die
One by one as they fall
It feels like you're carrying the weight of the world
On your shoulders
And punishing yourself for some ancient acts.
Too afraid to confront the reality,
Too afraid to make a move.
You have to close up this circle
And have a fresh new start,
A new beginning to rise up
And take control of your surroundings
No sleep, no laughter, it haunts you day and night
Nothing to satisfy and water the flower you really are.
The path ire that wore you will swallow you whole.
(Ridiculous drunken joy)
Nothing left behind, no mourning for the child of no one.
We are the architects of our broken mirrors.
Why can't we be our own heroes
Until our days are over?
(The heroes we could not be)
