Monochrome describes paintings, drawings, design, or photographs in one color or shades of one color. A monochromatic object or image has colors in shades of limited colors or hues.[clarification needed] Images using only shades of grey (with or without black and/or white) are called grayscale or black-and-white. However, scientifically speaking, "Monochromatic light" refers to light of a narrow frequency.
For an image, the term monochrome is usually taken to mean the same as black and white or, more likely, grayscale, but may also be used to refer to other combinations containing only tones of a single color, such as green-and-white or green-and-black. It may also refer to sepia displaying tones from light tan to dark brown or cyanotype (“blueprint”) images, and early photographic methods such as daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes, each of which may be used to produce a monochromatic image.
In computing, monochrome has two meanings:
A monochrome computer display is able to display only a single color, often green, amber, red or white, and often also shades of that color.
Dominique Ané (born 6 October 1968), better known as "Dominique A," is a French songwriter and singer.
Born on the 6 October 1968 in Provins, France, Dominique Ané is the only child of a teacher and a homemaker. He was passionate about literature and music from a young age. He was interested in the punk music of the time, but at the age of 14, at the beginning of the 1980s, he started to appreciate the dark romanticism of the New Wave movement. After his baccalaureate, he studied humanities for a year, and, at the same time, did a range of odd jobs, including his spell as a utility man for an FM radio station in Nantes, where his family lived. At around the age of 16, he started up a band, John Merrick, named after the hero of the film The Elephant Man, a cult film from David Lynch.
The foursome recorded around 45 somber, tormented songs and gave a number of concerts in the area around Nantes. Later, with the singer Katerine, he recorded a number of songs, in a different, more upbeat and livelier style.
Yann Tiersen (born 23 June 1970) is a musician from France. His musical career is split between studio albums, collaborations and film soundtracks with a distinctive sound that is always involved. It can be recognized by its use of a large variety of instruments; primarily the guitar, synthesizer or violin together with instruments like the melodica, xylophone, toy piano, harpsichord, accordion and typewriter.
Tiersen is often mistaken as a composer of soundtracks, himself saying "I'm not a composer and I really don't have a classical background", but his real focus is on touring and studio albums which just happen to often be suitable for film. His most famous soundtrack for the film Amélie was primarily made up of tracks taken from his first two studio albums.
Yann Tiersen was born in Brest in the Finistère département in Brittany in northwestern France, in 1970, into a family of Belgian and Norwegian origins. He started learning piano at the age of four, violin at the age of six, and received classical training at several musical academies, including those in Rennes, Nantes, and Boulogne. In the early 1980s when he was a teenager he was influenced by the punk subculture, and bands like The Stooges and Joy Division. In 1983, at the age of 13, he broke his violin, bought an electric guitar, and formed a rock band. Tiersen was now living in Rennes, and this turned out to be the perfect place for his musical career. In fact, Rennes is home to the three-day music festival Rencontres Trans Musicales, held annually in December, giving him the opportunity to see acts like Nirvana, Einstürzende Neubauten, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Cramps, Television, and Suicide. A few years later, when his band broke up, Tiersen bought a cheap mixing desk, an 8-track reel-to-reel audio tape recording, and started recording music solo with a synthesizer, a sampler, and a drum machine.

He plays a recurring role as otaku Luca in the Japanese TV drama series Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo, and was in the drama Pompei as the son of Girolamo Panzetta. He started modeling at the age of 15.
He has modeled for brands and fashion lines including h.Naoto, Sixh., Lip Service, Gstar, Stand Up!! The Fragile, Toni & Guy, Paul Smith, Jury Black, Blablahospital, tenuto by kawano, and True Religion.
Serafini joined Italian visual rock band DNR (Dreams Not Reality) as the fifth member "Seba", playing keyboard and performing vocals for the band. DNR opened up for Versailles on June 4, 2011 in Salerno, and also played at the 2011 V-Rock Festival held at Saitama Super Arena. The band was also part of the lineup for V-Love Live International, which took place two days later on October 25.
Seba has DJed at Shibuya visual kei event Viju Love Night.
Serafini, who was present in Tokyo during the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and lost a friend in the resulting tsunami, co-founded Hope, a t-shirt fundraising project for Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief, with fashion company Like Atmosphere. According to Serafini, there is also a Hope jewelry project, a collaboration with Soho Hearts. Upon leaving Japan, he spent a week in Los Angeles hosting relief fundraisers alongside journalist and fashion blogger La Carmina, with whom he also contributes to LA Weekly.

I can fill in your blanks here
Just like reading your mind
Everybody's got opinions,
Well I know I've got mine
We're running in place, aint you tired?
Just make up your mind there
We're only running in place
Hey, are you tired?
I know you don't deserve it
You needed someone to love
One more opportunity for somebody to love
We're running in place, aint you tired?
Just make up your mind there
We're only running in place
Hey, are you tired?
Will you disappear when the world is here?
Will you run for cover?
Have you taken aim, found someone to blame?
Does it make it feel better?
You're alright now, you're better
Whatever
We're running in place, aint you tired?
Just make up your mind there
We're only running in place
Hey, are you tired?
We're running in place
Just make up your mind there
We're only running place
Hey, are you tired?
You're my monochrome
Save my soul from the poisons of this world
Seeds of lust, desire and deceit
Bloom inside the darkest hearts
Spreading, growing towards the light
There is something about you
You said (to me)
You’re different
Take me up into your arms
I swear we’re infinite
(No desire to be here
Just watch me disappear)
So let the dark clouds roll in
Feel depression’s teeth sinking in
We’re fucking starving, we’re fucking dying
Digging the holes they’ll find us crawling in
When you feel next to nothing
You’ll die in the clothes that you were born in
[x4]
On our knees we're burning
(Anderson)
Wake with the sun
What's going on, when you're gone
Fall asleep when you're near
What's going on, when you're here
And sometimes I think if I stand by the phone it may ring
And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring
And you sing
And you sing
Breathe with your sigh
Makes me high, don't know why
Touching your skin
Wishing you were within
Your eyes are like saucers but mine are just clouded in gray
I've so much to tell but I can't and you just go away
Anyway
Won't you stay
Wake with the sun
What's going on, when you're gone
And when I lost control
I was cold, and I felt old
The ground is beneath me but slowly it's falling away
You say we're like children so why won't you come out and play?
And sometimes I think if I look at the phone it may ring
And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring
When you sing
Monochrome reflections climbing up the walls
Down below your radar things are going on
All along the tunnels through the underground
We prepare for leaving waiting for the moon
Beats above your highness coded to be safe
Round and round in circles we are coming out
Dance away the meters through the muddy waters
We are submariners close to foreign shores
Pride in sleepy hollows doesn't make us happy
We are modern prophets amplified by you
Scientific networks spies behind the curtain
We defend the future and give it back to you
Break the loop of habit time for your return
Back among the living welcome and goodbye
Birds in little cages all believe in freedom
We provide solutions for a better living
We command the system calling all receivers
We are noisy people for a better living
We command the system calling all receivers
We are noisy people for a better living
We command the system calling all receivers
We are noisy people for a better living
We command the system calling all receivers

It's 4 in the morning July in '69
Me and my sister, we crept down like shadows
They're bringing the moon
Right down to our sitting room
Static and silence and a monochrome vision
They're dancing around
Slow puppets silver ground
And the world is watching with joy
We hear a voice from above and it's history
And we stayed awake all night
And something is said
And the whole room laughs aloud
Me and my sister looking on like shadows
The end of an age as we watched them walk in a glow
Lost in space, but I don't know where it is
They,re dancing around
Slow puppets silver ground
And the stars and stripes in the sand
We hear a voice from above and it's history
And we stayed awake all night
They're dancing around
It sends a shiver down my spine
And I run to look in the sky and
I half expect to hear them asking to come down
Oh, will they fly or will they fall
Anyway, I can try
Anything it's the same circle
That leads to nowhere and I'm tired now.
Anyway, I've lost my face,
My dignity, my look,
Everything is gone
And I'm tired now.
But don't be scared,
I found a good job and I go to work
Every day on my old bicycle you loved.
I am pilling up some unread books under my bed
And I really think I'll never read again.
No concentration,
Just a white disorder
Everywhere around me,
You know I'm so tired now.
But don't worry
I often go to dinners and parties
With some old friends who care for me,
Take me back home and stay.
Monochrome floors, monochrome walls,
Only absence near me,
Nothing but silence around me.
Monochrome flat, monochrome life,
Only absence near me,
Nothing but silence around me.
Sometimes I search an event
Or something to remind,
But I've really got nothing in mind.
Sometimes I open the windows
And listen people walking in the down streets.
There is a life out there.
But don't be scared,
I found a good job and I go to work
Every day on my old bicycle you loved.
Anyway, I can try
Anything it's the same circle
That leads to nowhere and I'm tired now.
Anyway, I've lost my face,
My dignity, my look,
Everything is gone
And I'm tired now.
But don't worry
I often go to dinners and parties
With some old friends who care for me,
Take me back home and stay.
Monochrome floors, monochrome walls,
Only absence near me,
Nothing but silence around me.
Monochrome flat, monochrome life,
Only absence near me,
trying to survive
remorse doesn’t help
waiting to realize, that grief can’t last forever
useless advices push me into solitude
praying to hold on and not to sink deeper
praying to hold on
feelings i have never felt thoughts i have never thought on ful
fill me with hope, this is my solace in grief
my solace in grief, (my grief won’t last for ever!)
see no faces, no colors just monochrome
history changes like seasons monochrome
ruin of the cultures monochrome
She steps outside her tiny box
Doors made of glass with tiny locks
She dreams in monochrome now
Her own world in black and white
She takes her time in redefining me
I'm not convinced and neither is she
It takes so long to get inside of me
What can you see?
She ties me up and brings me flowers
Dead to her I sleep away the hours
In thin air coils we inhale
Two scents of rose
She takes her time in redefining me
I'm not convinced and neither is she
It takes so long to get inside of me
What can you see?
Soon she’ll fade away
An empty promise
Cast in shades of grey
An image from a dream
Or 50’s TV screen
Going colorblind
I tell myself to
Quit while I’m behind
It’s more than I can bear
To see her standing there
And vanish in thin air
In monochrome
In black and white
She disappears right in front of me
Like color dies in the dark
In camouflage
Against the night
My eyestrain pales in comparison
To the straining of my heart
If only I could shine
A flashlight on her
Pulling her inside
To catch her like a ghost
Entrapped forever close
Right here in my hand
A genie in a bottle to command
Within her radiant shrine
Defying space and time
Who wants a song, like everyone else's
Do we lack some creativity?
Who wants a life just like on the TV
Maybe we need something new
Monochrome Rainbows
Built on someone else's goals
Monochrome Rainbows
Color's coming through the holes
Who wants a sound, just like every other?
Makes your mother, so proud
And who needs a story, that's just carbon copy
A rerun of others?
Monochrome Rainbows
Built on someone else's gold
Monochrome Rainbows
Color's coming through the holes
Chameleon colors never stay
Searching for reality
Give me clarity
Don't you know that green ain't gold
Don't you know that green ain't gold
Don't you know that green ain't gold
Oh it's never ever gold
Monochrome Rainbows
Monochrome Rainbows
Built on someone else's gold
Monochrome Rainbows
All about my ego?
Monochrome Rainbows
Flames of color could explode
Are we just an echo?
